"Please let us introduce ourselves properly again." Lee Yumi said.

"I've been temporarily assigned to SWAT 4, counter-superpowered crimes teams directly subordinate to police headquarters." Yumi said."I'm Major Lee Yumi."

"And I'm Kang Soyoung. Big sister to this 'plain' guy." Soyoung said stressin' the plain word."Is this the ride for professional counters? It's huge."

"Lieutenant Kang! Try to present yourself with gravity fitting of police who's vowed to protect and serve!"

"Haha, don't be a fun police too, Major." Soyoung said.

"Oh, boy. Really." Y/n said deadpanned.

"Hahaha, now...." Soyoung said and pinch both of Y/n's cheeks with both of her hands."Pray do tell, WHY did you TAKE THIS job?" Soyoung said with a dangerous smile."And since WHEN did you have this ability?"

The surrounding was really chilly and the Fenrir Squad along with Lee Yumi was terrified and sweating.

Y/n Pov

'To be honest, I forgot about her.' I thought sweating along with my cheeks getting hurt.

'But right now, I'm not previous Y/n even though I have his memories and experience...' I thought seriously.

"Cause I want to find a job," I said in a straight lace manner shocking everyone.

"And as for this ability, here." I touch her forehead with my finger and transfer information about my power but excluding the part where I reincarnated here.

"Ouch, I see, you don't know either, huh?" Soyoung said making Yumi confused."I see." She said before returning back to normal and I retracts my hand back.

"Oh, even though, I can help you find one, why did you have to choose this job?" Soyoung said what I expected her to say which she was reasonable big sister and punish you if you don't have any good reason.

"Because I can't keep getting help from you forever. Not after what happened in the past...." I said getting the mood darker.

"Fine....even though, I don't like it," Soyoung said and let go of my cheek and breathes a sigh of relief dispersing the mood earlier.

"Thank-" I said before being interrupted.

"But."

"?" I tilted my head confusingly.

"You will call me once a day for me to make sure you live."

"Fair enough," I said and thought to Omicron to remind me.

"Understood, reminding note taken."

"Good enough, now what is the discussion about?" Soyoung said changing the topic.

"Ah, are you sure this is the assets?" Mina said unsurely looking at me.

"I guess, considering Sis's deduction ability and she's the reason why I can conclude what you thinking right now." I said making Soyoung smile at me."Though, I don't know about the other one.

"What?! I take offense!" Yumi said."I'm no ordinary police! I'm part of SWAT 4, which handles crimes related to Counters and Eternium!"

"I-is that so?" Mina said.

"I assume it's only on paper. Along with external support when things get ugly?" I said making Soyoung laugh.

"Wow, your skill never ceases to amaze me, Y/n!" Soyoung said."But yes, that was it."

"Wha?!" Yumi said shocked about what I said."H-How did you-" I point to Soyoung who is beaming with a smile.

"Never mind, forget I said anything," Yumi said giving up.

"Hmm, you're a Counter, aren't you?" I said making her look at me.

"Yes, I am," Yumi said although confused.

"Don't be surprised because I see Watch on you and you're a minor as well and I can see you're a temp," I said making her wide-eyed.

"And really, Sis. I thought you don't want to do this job?" I said to Soyoung implying what she's doing when a Counter, a temp, and a Major rank don't match.

"Ah, well....." Soyoung said.

"You'd better take responsibility because people like her are in danger." I said standing up I am taller than her making her look at me."That being said, I assume you're also here on crimes related to Counter?"

"Ah, yes," Yumi said.

"Sounds...complicated," Mina said.

"Look at Shi Yoon and you know," I said making Mina look at me and Shi Yoon who is smiling.

"Never mind," Mina said.

"Haha, there's always red tape in the government organization. you know?" Soyoung said.

"Done chatting? I'd like to speak to the client if you don't mind," Hilde said.

"U-understood, We'll put through Miss Cooper then," Soyoung said.

Then, a hologram of Sylvia appears.

"Hi.Long time no see, Coffineers!" Sylvia said.

"Haha, I'm glad to see you've been doing well too." Shi Yoon said.

"Does it looks like I'm doing well? This video feed must be faulty. I've got bags under my eyes so big I could probably fit my groceries in there." Sylvia retorted.

"I must say, I'm a bit surprised." Mina said."You went on about trust or whatever last time, as if you'd never reached out to us again...."

"Probably desperate," I said making Lena cough.

"Haha...Did I? Hahaha" Sylvia said."But nonetheless, I can put that behind when an emergency at times like this."

"How shameless," Mina said and I shrugged.

"I'm sure the old lady would've understood. Speaking of which, where is that lady? I don't see her over there." Sylvia asked.

"HQ," I answered Lena's question.

"Oh," Sylvia said.

"More importantly, what's the status of the intel we requested? Did you find anything?" Hilde asked.

"Well...about that...We did find something." Sylvia said making me interested."We called in every favor stacked with the State Department to search through all the cases around the world. But are you sure this intel will you solve this case? It makes an interesting read but it doesn't seem particularly relevant..."

"Well. we'll have to see about that." Hilde said.

'Wonder what that intel is?' I thought.

"I'd hate to rush you but the situation doesn't look too good right now. According to our field teams, the lost ship is getting more powerful each time they are restored." Lena said making me alarmed.

'The ability to adapt?!' I thought warily.

"At this rate, they might reach a threshold where they become virtually indestructible soon," Lena said.

'Omicron, do their adaptation ability as strong as you?' I thought warily.

"I don't think so, Master because the rate of their adapt is late and they are like this is probably because someone is learning and upgrading it in another area," Omicron answered me.

'Putting my current location out of question, all that is left is..'

"Counterside."

'Can you track it?'

"Yes, tracking the signal."

Then, I focus back on Lena, turns out the exchange earlier is really fast.

"All that while we still got to deal Replacers keep popping up out of nowhere," Sylvia said.

"....." Hilde keeps quiet.

"The economic impact is even more severe. While every TASKFORCE mobilized in support of the Lost Ships, the Eternium supply has plummeted. Considering the impact of Eternium on the world economy...We might be headed to global depression." Sylvia said making me deadpan.

Eternium is a mineral you can get in Counterside in general because the current society nowadays uses it even on a daily basis. Pretty much you can guess it if the stock is low.

"We're trying to keep the information contained. but the stock company has been jumpy lately...so who knows how long we can keep that going." Sylvia said.

"Things are really that bad?" Mina said triggering Sylvia.

"Well, duh. I'd kiss the devil's ass if it means we could make all of this go away! It's that bad!" Sylvia said.

"Don't kiss devil ass though, you don't wanna make a deal with the devil," I said retorting Lena.

"It was a rhetorical statement," Sylvia said.

Then, another hologram appears and it was a guy.

"Goofing off again, Sylvia?"

"K-Kyle, when did you get back?" Lena said

"5 minutes and 16 seconds ago," Kyle said

"You never fail to surprise me. Loafing on the phone despite the cataclysmic situation out there...Like I always say, you youngsters these days are up to no good. When will you ever grow up?" Kyle said.

"Hey! Don't be ridiculous! You're even younger than me!" Sylvia shouted.

"That does not justify your abhorrent behavior. Now, please move out at once. The mission is to go. You've got 20 seconds." Kyle said.

"Again, I just got here half an hour ago!" Sylvia said.

Sylvia shouted and cursed making out something incorrigible.

"......" Mina said nothing.

"......." Shi Yoon said nothing.

"A sight to behold," I said making two of them look at me and I smiled which send off a mixed signal making them look at the hologram again.

"Hear that? I've gotta run. But don't forget my dear Coffineers! I pulled every string there is to pull to get you this intel since you said it might help. I'm grasping at straws here." Sylvia said."Coffin Company is the only TASKFORCE that has the slightest idea of what's going on...and is capable of handling the Replacer officers if it comes to that. So do whatever you must!"

"No matter the risk!"

"You've must their hideout and resolve this once and for all!"

"Got that?! You must! No matter what!"

"We'll....try," Hilde said.

Lena then shouts and Kyle switches off and Sylvia is cursing at him for that.

"Sound like things are pretty bad over there too," Mina said.

"Haha, I bet. Their jurisdiction is usually far more extensive than what we usually dealt with. By the way, what is it that you're looking for that you enlisted Sylvia's assistance?" Shi Yoon said making me look at Hilde and Soyoung spoke taking our attention.

"Oh, I can explain that." Soyoung said."A few hours ago after the Counterside Effect began, we got word through diplomatic channels that Ms. Cooper requested a search of certain supernatural incidents. They reached out to our office and it just so happened that we've been working on a similar case."

"What incident that she's been searching for exactly?" Mina asked.

"Resurrection," Soyoung said making me dumbfounded.

"What?" I along with Mina said.

"......." Shi Yoon and Yumi were silent.

"Specifically, the mass resurrection of ordinary, non-Counter folk that occurred within the past two years." Soyoung said."Or other records on similar supernatural regeneration short of outright resurrection."

"I see, so you've compiled from old cases and see the connection that may have been possible because of earlier encounters." I said making everyone look at me."What? Now, I can expect that Commander will be more likely generation' complaining so much about technology."

Hilde then comes to me and pinches my cheek.

"Owch! Owch! It huwts, Commander!" I cried out in pain.

"Please do continue," Hilde said making the rest of them sweatdrops and Hilde let go of my cheek and it healed instantly.

"So, did you find anything?" Shi Yoon asked and Soyoung nodded.

"There is this drug that has been spreading rapidly through the black market for about a year now. It's called Elixir." Soyoung said."We're not exactly sure how it's made. But we estimate that it's a type of psychotropic substance with an Eternium base known as" Counterdrug."

"What's interesting is that, unlike Counterdrug, Elixir has been popular among not only usual addicts but also mercenaries.Once administered, the drug not only grants physical capabilities that rivals those of Counters....but also miraculously recovers from fatal wounds." Soyoung said.

"And there been a case or testimonies people come back from dead as well because of this." I pointed out.

'Damn, now this drug selling is getting a new tier.' I thought ridiculously.

"Yup!" Soyoung said."Your skill is getting good!"

"No, I will not clean your room," I said making her feel down.

"Awww," Soyoung said.

"Is that...even possible?" Mina asked.

"Think about it rationally, Mina." Shi Yoon said."There no way for a dead person to come back to life.If they did, they've must've been not died in the first place.Or whoever come back to life is entirely different person than before."

I heard what Shi Yoon said and remember previous Y/n who is already dead because of the day I transmigrated in this body. He was dying from overwork and depression and many mental problem and he was at last of his breath and my soul merged with him and I clenched my hand hidden from view.

'I will not let this chance go. I will live my life as it has given right now.' I thought to myself and unclenched my hand.

"I know...but still.." Mina said and I pat her head making her look at me.

"Rationally speaking and this world is not run entirely on rationality and there's saying "Truths are often stranger than fiction." I said making her look at me and nodded and I stopped my headpat and she seemed sad about it.

'I guess I have more influence over her than I thought.' I thought.

"And I assume that physical capabilities and regeneration are true?" I asked Soyoung and she nodded."That explains this drug then...what are the side effects?"

"There is side effects?" Mina asked.

"Indeed, there should be side effects as well." Shi Yoon said."Though, how did you know that, Y/n?"

"Hm? Oh, that. Sis said this drug is spreading in black market, not pharmacy or legal organization which excludes the possibilities of them and that she said that drug is made with Eternium base, so I can include the possibility of danger and lastly, isn't it called drug in the first place." I said making them looks at me though Soyoung is quite....beaming.

"Yes! I finally did it!" Soyoung said jumping and hugs me."I did it! I finally can have someone understand me!"

"Lieutenat Kang!" Yumi shouted."Please behave! This is serious!"

"Oh, sorry about that,Major.Hehe." She said before unlatching me.

"Huff, so, the side effects is that you can turn to monsterous lump of tumor or mania. What annoys me are...the non-powered incompetents who think they've suddenly become some sort of superheroes!" Yumi ranted.

"The correct terms would be supervillains." Soyoung corrected.

"Increase rise of crimes because of it?" I said making Mina and Shi Yoon looks at me.

"Yup." Soyoung said."So, what do you think is this the intel you wanted?"

"....Interesting.I'd like to hear more details about this." Hilde said."Do you have anything on who made the Elixir?"

"About that, it's quite tricky because they are comprised of discrete dealers and middlemen...but yeah, we found a lead. According to intel, a religious cult known as Magellan Prediction Society has been producing Elixir."

"Magellan's Prediction Society?" Mina questions.

"Sound familiar.You mean those bastard who were after you earlier?" Hilde said.

"That's right. At first glance, they may seem like fanatical cult but basically a paramilitary organization with firearms and followers enhanced with Elixir." Soyoung said."Then, they managed to tame C.Os to boost their security. At this rate even police SWAT team have the firepower to take them down."

"Originally, the plan was to cooperate with TASKFORCEs to take them down..."Soyoung said.

"Then, this happened." Shi Yoon said making Soyoung nodded.

"And?" I said making Soyoung looks elsewhere."You caught one of their guys,didn't you?" I said making Soyoung flinch."And you took advantage of the situation." I said making her flinch again."Then, because of our involvement, we had to take it because the business are related." I said again making her flinch and sweat furiously.

"Oh, nee-san~" I said with a smile."Look at me, look at this , your little brother is calling~"

At this point, I was basically scaring her because the plan she did is dangerous and I had to say something.

I walk towards her and all people present just look elsewhere. Then, I get closer to her ear.

"You do plan like this again....i will consficate your license, understood?" I said in a dangerous voice."Nod once for yes, nod two for no."

Soyoung nod once and the atmosphere return back to normal.

"Now, Commander. What's the order?" I said making her snap out of it.

"We strike the Magellan's Prediction Society." Hilde said making me nod.

"Alright, we'll lead you to their HQ." Soyoung said making all of us nod.
