I was in shock and Erica was already asleep. What if she was actually my mom? What if she was the one that abused me for so many years? That's why she looked at my report then she just decided to adopt Erica and not me. I started to wonder but I know that anyone could sound as evil as my mother. I got up and quickly went to her computer. I searched all of her files but I couldn't find any evidence. I was searching through her camera roll and I found a picture token 17 years ago. It was my mom and dad smiling and I was there in the picture but I was just a baby. She was happy to have me? I cried while seeing the picture but these tears were tears of joy "You like the photos?" I started to get scared and I looked behind me and saw Erica. 

"Your mother is my mother." I said.

"W- WHAT BUT HOW? SHE WAS THE ONE THAT ABUSED YOU FOR 5 YEARS AND STILL DIDN'T TELL ME? WHY SHOULD I EVEN TRUST SOMEONE THAT LEFT YOU AT THE ADOPTION CENTER AND ONLY ADOPTED ME?" 

Erica was so mad that she walked over to my mom's room.

"Don't tell her." I whispered "I don't want to cause any trouble, she might just abuse me again."

"But what if she abuses you again what if she kills you this time?" 

"I swear that won't happen, just trust me. If you tell her that's when she will actually kill me and abuse me more. I just need to find something real quick."

I searched through more of her files until I found something.

"March 5th, 2025. I will be 20 by then." I said

"What are you talking about?"

"It's the year 2023 and I die in 2025. I am 17 about to turn 18 this year."

"That can't be right, what if you can try to overcome your death date, IT CAN'T BE TRUE!"

Tears started to run down Erica's face and I just hugged her.

"I don't want it to be true as much as you don't want it to be true either."

We just sat there while I was hugging Erica she was crying. I quickly shut off the computer when I heard my mom walk toward us.

"What did you do to her?!" She yelled at me.

"I did nothing Ma'am, she just had a nightmare that's all."

"Yeah it was just a nightmare Ms. OLD NON MARRIED STACY BROWN!"

"Psst, Erica! that isn't even her name."

"Then what is her name?"

"It is Kayla."

"Oh- THEN SHUT UP WITH YOUR 5 YEAR OLD NAME."

"PSST IT ISN'T A 5 YEAR OLD NAME-"

"SHuT uP YURI!"

"Yuri... that name sounds familiar."

Erica messed up again. She blew my damn cover. We all just stood in silence. "RUN!" Erica shouted. I didn't run why would I run? I just looked at my mom and I had a lot of questions to ask her.

"Where is my dad?"

"He went to go get milk sweetie."

"Shut the fuck up Erica."

She laughed and my mom just looked at me as if she was ready to kill me. And yes she was ready to kill me. I blinked and then woke up in a dark room. How did she teleport me here..? "HELP!" I screamed realizing the fact that no one could DAMN HEAR ME! I tried to break out of the room but it had no door. What kind of room has no door? I thought to myself. I tried breaking the walls but I just couldn't, they were too strong. I heard someone walking. I saw a hallway and tried walking closer to where I heard them thinking that maybe they could help me. I was about to walk to them until I finally thought of something? What if that person is going to kill me? I stood at the corner of the wall trying to watch who was going to come. I saw something that looked like a doll. She looked about 6 feet tall. I am just 5'9. I started to get scared. I slapped my face thinking that it was a dream. It reminded me of mimic in a game called Roblox. I started to find an exit but all I saw was a girl crying. It was Erica. "Erica...?" I said. She didn't even respond to what I said, she just kept crying. I took her hair away from her face and I realized that she didn't even have a head. I started to get scared and she started to laugh. It's just a nightmare, I thought to myself. I just walked away from her then later I just saw her disappear. I started to get more scared. That person I heard walking toward me was long gone. A DOOR FINALLY! I tried opening the door but it was locked, it seemed like I needed a key to it. Okay, I quit. This is just some stupid nightmare so I will just act crazy. I started running around in circles and singed like crazy, nothing worked and I still didn't wake up. My mom was starring at me as if I was crazy. Wait a minute... MY MOM? HOW DID SHE MAKE IT HERE? "Wake up Yuri!" I heard a voice call. I finally woke up and I was correct about me dreaming. "Ugh... it's a side affect for her death date." My mom said? Side affect? Was I going to experience more of these? My heart was beating so fast but they calmed me down. I just wanted to be normal.

"Mom, why did you abuse me? Why did you hate me?

"Stop this foolishness, I would never do such a thing."

"Mom don't even act like you didn't since Erica is around so you think you can lie. ERICA ALREADY KNEW YOU ABUSED ME 12 YEARS AGO WHEN YOU LEFT ME AT THE ADOPTION CENTER!"

"I already told you, I wanted a son."

"THEN WHY ADOPT A GIRL?"

Erica came up to me and said "Are you jealous of me?"

"No Erica, I'm not. I'm just wondering why she left me just because I'm a girl and she went to go adopt another girl."

"You are freaking jealous of me, she isn't your mom anymore she disowned you NOW GET FREAKING USED TO IT COWARD."

"I am not jealous Erica, she is still my mom no matter what but I am just wondering why she left me for another girl."

"Because she hates you and now I see why she hates you."

There was a moment of silence. I didn't know Erica could go that far.

"I think I am going to go."

"Go where? You got nowhere else to go but that adoption center."

"I said I AM GOING TO GO!"

"Hope you die on the way there."

I slapped Erica in the face on the way out. She just looked at me but I started to cry. "A cry baby as usual." My mom said. I already ran, 30 minutes has passed and I was still lost. I was still trying to look for my dad. I knew I couldn't find him in a large city with over 50 million people in it.

"Are you lost my deer?" An elderly woman said to me.

"Uhm yes I am, I'm just looking for someone."

"What does this someone look like?"

"I'm not sure, I haven't seen them in 12 years now."

"Then why look for them again?"

"They are my family, I have nowhere else to stay if I can't find them."

"What's there gender?"

"I'm looking for my dad."

"Oh I see, family reunion ."

"Yes. I wish I could see him again even if it is for 1 minute."

"You must really miss your dad, I couldn't imagine not seeing my dad for 12 years now or not even growing up with him."

"My mom abused me when I was young and then kicked my dad out of the house when I was just 5. She was annoyed of me and sent me to a adoption center."

I knew I shouldn't have told her that information but I had a feeling that she could help me, I just trusted her even though I just met her like 2 minutes ago.

"You had a rough childhood, how old are you now?"

"I'm 17 about to turn 18."

"The adoption center owner let you out at such a young age."

"They didn't let me out, I just went out myself. I am done of people trying to tell me what to do, my mom always used to tell me what to do and I am sick and tired of it."

"I see, I see. Do you want to stay with me and my husband for a while until you find your dad?"

"Yes please."

"Alrighty, follow me."

I didn't care if this woman wanted to kidnap me, at least I would have somewhere to stay. I started loosing hope slowly. I didn't think I would find my dad.

"We are here! I am so sorry this house is really small. There might be some rodents in here too. I don't really have enough money to afford a better place."

"It's ok, I am grateful that there is at least a roof above my head this night, I have to thank you."

"You raised yourself well." She said.

I smiled and I was happy that she didn't mention my mom in anything. I walked over to him and he waved at me. I waved back. "Luke, come downstairs." Said the woman. Ugh, another boy? I am done with boys.

"Luke, meet.... PSST, WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"

"My name is Yuri."

"Luke, meet Yuri and Yuri, meet Luke!"

"Hi." Luke said kind of blushing."

"Hey." I said back.

This moment was so awkward. His checks were red, his eyes were a blue color. Kind of seemed like purple. I had a feeling that he would be just like Tai, I tried to avoid him but he kept walking up to me asking me questions.

"So how old are you?" He asked me.

"I am 17 about to turn 18."

"Oh that's nice! I am already 18."

"Okay, cool. I don't really care just leave me alone like the hell-"

I realized what I said and realized that it was rude. 

"Sorry." I said.

"It's okay, I should be the one that's sorry. I should not be asking you any questions."

"I'm alright with you asking me questions but it's just that you're so freakin annoying." I said with a smile.

He just walked away with a serious face. I laughed. He started laughing too. I hope this family could adopt me and maybe he could be my brother. I was happy that he actually didn't get mad at me for saying that to him, it was as if I knew him for a long time already and we were family. I went to my room, it wasn't all that but I was at least happy I had somewhere to stay. I took off my shoes and placed them under the bed. I went on the bed and laid down. I felt like someone was watching me and I was so surprised when I saw who was there.
