CJR Pt 12
"sh-hhheep, it's nearly twelve! We should head to bed now," Phil exclaimed, nearly swearing but saving it at the last minute.
Dan was still pouting at his loss, but was also back to being tired, so giggled sleepily. "Sheep" Dan laughed, "you know you can just say shit," he told him.
"Maybe I don't want to swear?"
"Why not?"
"Because it's bad? I don't know, I don't need a reason."
"Aww, is little Philly uncomfortable with swearing?" Dan teased. Phil stared at him, annoyed and slightly like a rabbit in headlights.
"No, of course not!"
"Say, fuck. Just say it! It's not that bad." Dan persuaded.
"No!" Phil insisted, crossing his arms. "Now, it's time for bed."
"You're not my daadd," Dan slurred sleepily. Dan's eyes lit up when a thought popped into his head. "Unless you want to be?" He suggested, then did an exaggerated wink. Phil gulped.
"Come on, you're clearly tired. You can even have the bed?"
"I'm not tired! I usually stay up til like two on a school night," Dan argued. Phil raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
"Well, you're clearly tired now, and we need to be awake for the jumper thing tomorrow."
"Oohh, yess, the jumper thing. I'm gonna win by the way."
"Okay, whatever you say, off to bed. You can borrow one of my pyjamas." Phil instructed, starting to lose his patience. Even if Dan wasn't tired, Phil certainly was.
"I don't appreciate your tone," Dan complained.
"I don't appreciate your reluctance but I don't go on about it."
"Okay, fine! I will, but only cause you're hot when you're bossy," Dan complied, licking his lips slightly at the last sentence.
"Should I...pretend you didn't say that?" Phil asked, uncomfortable with such a compliment.
"Why?" Dan asked, tilting his head slightly.
"Stop distracting me, you're meant to be getting changed!"
"Oh, you want me to undress, do you? Maybe I will. You are rather delicious."
"What?" Phil screeched, blushing violently. Dan was such a flirty tired person, it was like he was actually drunk. Also, what did delicious mean? It sounded rather predatory, which was not romantic at all.
"What? This is what I'm good at," Dan defended.
"Taking your clothes off?"
"No silly, seducing people," Dan explained, smirking, but looking slightly down.
"No offence, but if you call that good, you should find another talent."
"What are you saying?"
"Come on Dan, delicious isn't really a good compliment." Phil told him, but then looked at Dan's disappointed face. "You are good at so many more things. Why do you limit yourself to being good at looking good, and flirting?"
Dan looked up at him, "like what?" He asked, eyes shining.
"Well, you're determined, which may be an annoying characteristic when it makes you so stubborn, but it means you could do anything you put your mind to."
Dan rested his chin on the bed, eyes focused on Phil. "What else?"
"Now you're just fishing for compliments,"
"What, else?" Dan persisted.
"Uumm, you're good at mario kart?"
"No I'm not, you beat me," Dan interjected, frowning.
"Yeah, I beat you, but that doesn't mean I'm better at it than you," Phil explained. Clearly Dan needed the compliments.
"Really? You're just saying that!"
"Yes really. You're like the mario kart master. You literally played with your face, then won," Phil assured, not too happy on losing his brag rights. Dan grinned in delight. "And, you find happiness in the simplest of things, which is just beautiful," Phil added, when he looked at Dan's grinning face.
"It is?"
"Yes, you're beautiful."
"I thought my looks weren't something to brag about?" Dan reminded him.
"Well, no, but it's more than just looks"
Dan looked down, unsure of how to respond. Phil had certainly made him speechless. Dan quickly rose to his feet, and walked to a corner of the room. Phil have him a questioning glance.
"Aren't you going to bed?" Dan asked. Phil chuckled and nodded his head. Looks like he got what he wanted after all. He walked over to Dan, ready to hand him his pyjamas, but Dan spoke up. "Don't worry about that, I sleep in my boxers anyway."
"Oh," Phil said, blushing all over again. After a few seconds of nervous silence, Phil spoke again, "I'll get changed in the bathroom then, while you get in bed."
"But I need to brush my teeth first," Dan countered.
"Oh yeah, that's if we have a spare toothbrush," Phil said, then scurried into the bathroom, looking for one, basking in the freedom of not being trapped in that weird conversation anymore. Phil found one, and shouted to Dan that he found one, telling him to get to the bathroom.
Dan walked in, and they sort of nodded to each other in greeting, despite it only being a minute since they were last talking. Somehow they both just wanted to stay silent for a bit. Phil stood to the left, and Dan stood to the right of the sink, causing their elbows to clash and the moved their arms to move the toothbrush.
"Oh, sorry" they both said, awkwardly. Phil then walked around Dan to stand by his right, so they couldn't clash, and Dan shuffled more to the left. They both spat into the sink at the same time, nearly causing them to bump their heads.
The boys walked back into Phil's room and Phil coughed, breaking the silence. "Er, you get changed and then you can go in my bed," Phil told him. Dan nodded his head, and Phil walked back into the bathroom.
"Dan!" Phil shouted, covering his eyes with his arms, as he entered the room to find him still stood up, but only in his boxers.
"What?"
"I told you to go in the bed once you changed!"
"Oh, but- oh stop covering your eyes I'm not that gross to look at"
Phil slowly retracted his arms and squeaked, "of course that's not why, it's just...a bit weird for me to stare at you almost naked!"
"Oh, so you just don't want me to catch you stating, I see," Dan replied, then winked. " I suppose you should look away, it's only fair. If I can't see you in boxers neither can you see me." Dan added, cheekily.
"Yep, I'm not doing that, so guess I'll look away."
"Shame," Dan muttered, still standing in the same spot.
"Why aren't you going in?" Phil asked, nodding to the bed.
"I feel kind of mean, taking your bed. I did kinda force you to let me stay, Dan admitted.
"No, it's fine. I'm good with the floor." Phil insisted, even though he was already imagining the lack of sleep he would have. Dan climbed into bed, and for a second, Phil was pleased, until he saw Dan was lying on the right side, with his right arm spread out on the other side invitingly.
"I'm pretty sure two can fit this bed," Dan told Phil.
"Ooh, look at you, being accommodating," phil teased.
"Just get in, you plant."
Phil sighed, and reluctantly walked over to his side of the bed, and climbed in. "It's going to be a tight squeeze," Phil argued.
"Better than me feeling guilty for you hurting your ass as you lie on the floor getting no sleep."
Phil sighed in defeat, after all, he really was tired. Dan turned around to face him, so they were eye to eye. "Night Philly"
"Night Danny," Phil mumbled back.
Would it shock you if there was no a/n on this thing?
