Yoongi sprinted to Taehyung from across the dance studio. "Taehyung! Taehyung, take a break!" Once he got to his dongsaeng, he wrapped his arms around the younger boy's shoulders. "You have to slow down. Slow down, okay?"
The members had been in the middle of dance practice when it was evident that Taehyung's asthma had been acting up more than usual. He had been wheezing quite badly when he woke up that morning, and although he was okay after his morning nebulizer treatment, it seemed to be getting bad again. Yoongi had stopped everything and ran to him when he saw him stop and squat down in the middle of a routine, clutching his chest while trying to suck in deep breaths.
"Someone get his inhaler!" Yoongi was crouched down beside Taehyung now, holding him and rubbing his back.
Hobi was rummaging through the bag Taehyung had brought to the studio that day and found his inhaler in one of the little side pockets. He rushed it over and shoved it into Taehyung's mouth.
All of the members were huddled around him offering words of encouragement as he sucked in puffs. Tears were spilling from his eyes as both he and Hobi were holding the inhaler in his mouth.
Jungkook and Jimin were on the verge of tears seeing Taehyung struggling like this, it was always such a terrifying thing to witness. They hated it when the weather got this frigid during winter because they knew how badly it messed with Taehyung's lungs.
Taehyung felt relief in his chest after about three long puffs of the medicine. He no longer felt like the walls of his lungs were caving in on themselves, and the little black spots that had been forming in his vision finally started to dissipate.
"There you go, there you go," Namjoon said with encouragement when he saw Taehyung finally catching his breath.
Jin had taken his fingers and used them to wipe the tears that had been streaming down Taehyung's face. "Taehyung-ah, no more dance practice for you today, alright?"
Hobi, their dance leader, had already told Taehyung before practice even started that he could sit out for today if he was having trouble breathing. Taehyung, however, felt like he'd be letting the team down and fall too far behind if he sat out. Unfortunately, dance practice was catching up to him rather quickly, but he still didn't want to let his team down.
"N-no," Taehyung replied after taking his inhaler out of Hobi's hand and setting it aside. He felt as though it had helped enough at this point. "I'm fine. I-I can practice just fine. Just give me a minute." He clutched his chest again as he started coughing.
"No, Taehyung. You're not practicing anymore today. Not only as your hyung, but also as your dance leader, I'm ordering you to sit the rest of the day out." Hobi stood up and hovered over Taehyung, hoping to intimidate him if he went into his strict dance leader stance.
Taehyung couldn't help but start pouting. He felt like that wasn't fair to him or to the group. "I-I said I'm fine. I can prac-"
"-I said no. I know you don't want to fall behind but your health is more important than dance practice. You already used your nebulizer this morning and you're still having trouble breathing. This early? No way. You're not well. You're sitting out." Hobi wasn't going to have it any other way. He cared about Taehyung's health a hell of a lot more than dance practice. Plus, he knew how dedicated Taehyung was. He was fully confident that even after sitting out for a day, or a few if he needed to, Taehyung would catch up with them no problem.
Taehyung turned to Yoongi and Jin. "One of you tell him to let me-"
Yoongi put his hands up in surrender after seeing Hobi's stance. "No way. This one is all up to him."
Jin grabbed Taehyung's arm and pulled him up to his feet. "A little rest goes a long way, kiddo. You need it."
Without warning, Jungkook lunged forward and wrapped his arms around Taehyung, holding him in a gentle hug. The youngest was crying pretty heavily after what he had just witnessed. Even though he could see Taehyung was on the mend, he couldn't control his emotions. It would always scare the hell out of him. "Please, hyungie. Listen to them. Please, just this one time. Okay? I don't want you to get worse. I don't like seeing you hurt and you know that."
Taehyung could feel Jungkook's body shaking against him as he cried. He glanced at the others and saw the looks of concern they were all giving him. Jimin was wiping at some of his own tears and then said, "If Jungkookie is asking, then you definitely have to listen."
Jimin's remark got a small laugh out of everyone. They all knew Taehyung wasn't the greatest listener when it came to his hyungs trying to tell him what to do, but when it came to Jungkook, that was different.
Taehyung would always do anything for Jungkook.
"Fine. I'll sit out for today." Although he had tried putting up a slight fuss about it, deep down he was a bit relieved to take some time to rest. He still had a lot of tightness in his chest and was still coughing up some mucus.
"Thank you," Jungkook replied as he grabbed Taehyung by the arms and started pushing him back towards the wall, "now go sit down."
Taehyung took a seat and then Namjoon grabbed a few bottles of water, placing them on the floor next to his dongsaeng. "Make sure to stay hydrated, too. It's been a bit of a rough morning for you."
"Thanks," Taehyung replied. There was a bit of annoyance in his tone but it wasn't because of anything anyone did. He was frustrated with his own body and the fact it was currently failing him at such a crucial time.
While Taehyung sat and watched the others get back to practice, he needed to use his inhaler a few more times. Even sitting down and resting still had him coughing and trying to catch his breath. He put his hand back on his chest while taking a few puffs of his inhaler, and it started to distract the others because they were so worried.
Jin turned to Hobi, and although a bit nervous to ask, he wanted to try anyway. "I know there's a lot to do but maybe we could end the day early? I really think Tae needs to lay down and rest. And this dance floor isn't the best option." Jin knew Taehyung could go to his studio if he wanted, but there was another problem with that in Jin's eyes. "And I don't want him to be alone, either." Having two members out of dance practice would really get everyone all messed up anyway, so Jin was hoping Hobi would cancel practice for the rest of the day.
Hobi tilted his head as he pondered it for a moment, but after seeing everyone surrounding Taehyung again, with their concern quite evident, he knew not much was going to be done in terms of practice. "Alright, yeah. We can head home early so he can rest."
"What?" Taehyung shot his head up after finishing using his inhaler, and only caught the second half of the conversation. "Don't let me ruin the entire day."
"You're not ruining anything, Taehyung-ah," Hobi replied while smiling. "You really think these guys are going to complain about getting to go home early?"
The members started to giggle. Hobi wasn't wrong.
They packed everything up and while Jin drove them home all of their cell phones received an alert that it was supposed to start snowing that night. The storm system had come on quite suddenly and wasn't previously in the forecast.
"Snow?!" Jungkook cheered. "I love snow!"
"The report says only two inches, at that. That's nothing." Jimin's tone was a bit sulky. He loved snow too, but didn't want to get his hopes up. Half the time the forecast called for snow, none would even come.
"Hmm. Well, better than nothing I suppose." Jungkook turned to look at Tae, who had fallen asleep with his head on Namjoon's shoulder. "I guess it's better for him if it doesn't snow much anyway. He already can't breathe. Snow usually makes it worse." He watched as Namjoon took his head and rested it on top of Taehyung's.
"Poor kid is having a pretty rough winter, it would seem," Namjoon added.
The members all started chatting about how it was such a cold season, colder than usual. They were looking forward to spring. Even Jungkook, as much as he loved snow, would rather have Taehyung be alright.
When they got to the dorm, Taehyung didn't want to wake up to walk inside. Namjoon tried shaking him a bit but the boy had exhausted all of his energy earlier that morning trying to do the basic human function of breathing. The leader decided to scoop him up into his arms and carry him instead. Once they were walking into the dorm, it became clear that the temperature had dropped quite significantly just between them leaving the studio and arriving home. The air had gotten so frigid that all of the members found it painful. Taehyung woke up in Namjoon's arms and fell into a coughing fit. He groaned as he buried his head into Namjoon's chest. He felt like someone was poking at his lungs with icicles with every single inhale.
Yoongi ran over and patted Taehyung's shoulder. "It's rough out here, I know. We're almost inside."
Once everyone was indoors, Hobi ran to the thermostat to turn the heat up.
Namjoon brought Taehyung to his room and gently placed him on the bed, tucking him tightly under the covers. "I think you should use your nebulizer again." Namjoon grabbed it for him before giving him the chance to respond, but he agreed it was the best thing to do at this point. Every time he breathed he was wheezing so badly, and it sounded like rocks were rattling around in his lungs.
Taehyung watched Namjoon get the little device started and bring the little face mask over to him. He pressed it up against Taehyung's face and told him to relax and take deep breaths as the medicine began steaming into his lungs.
Every second felt like a new breath of fresh air. It was a major relief after the constant struggle to breath ever since the first time he'd used the device earlier that morning.
Jimin walked into the room and took a seat on Taehyung's bed, leaning over and running his fingers through Tae's hair. "How is he?" he asked Namjoon. He didn't want Taehyung to have to talk while taking his treatment.
"Okay for now," Namjoon replied. "The cold isn't helping, though."
"It's getting warmer in here, at least," Jimin informed. Thankfully Hobi had been quick to turn the thermostat up.
Jimin leaned over and placed his head against Taehyung's. "You know I don't like it when you worry me like this. Rest up."
Taehyung really appreciated everyone's willingness to help him. Having these coughing and wheezing fits scared him quite a bit, even if he didn't outwardly admit it. His asthma was so bad as a child that he had been in the hospital countless times for severe attacks. There was one time in particular when he was about five years old when the doctor's came very close to not being able to save him. His fear increased after that, but thankfully as he got older it wasn't as bad as it used to be. However, winters were still, for lack of a better term, complete ass.
Taehyung had started to feel much better after his asthma treatment and told Namjoon and Jimin that he was going to sleep some more and they could feel free to leave. His chest felt lighter and his wheezing wasn't as bad. It was still slightly there when he inhaled, but nothing compared to what it had been twenty minutes prior.
Jimin told Taehyung to let them know if he needed anything else before leaving, and he said he was all set. As the two exited the bedroom, Jungkook was just walking down the hall on his way to check on Taehyung. Namjoon stopped him and told him to let the boy rest.
Jungkook puckered out his lower lip, upset that he was told not to bother Taehyung, but he understood. "Is my Taehyungie hyungie hyung okay?"
"Yeah, he's alright," Jimin responded. He stuck his nose into the air when he started to smell something really good.
Jungkook noticed Jimin sniffing around and told him that Jin was making hot tea and boiled fish soup for everyone.
The members all relaxed for the rest of the afternoon. The snow had started and it did seem pretty light. Jungkook and Jimin decided to go out and play in it while it fell. Yoongi told them not to be outside for too long because it was way too cold out. To his surprise, Jungkook and Jimin actually didn't last that long playing outside as he initially thought. The temperature had kept dropping and what was supposed to be only a few inches of light snow had started to turn into a blizzard rather quickly with white-out conditions. It became hard for the two to even see each other, so Jimin told Jungkook they had to head in before either of them ended up getting hurt somehow. Not to mention the continuous temperature drop had made it nearly impossible to breathe outside anyway. Jimin got worried about hypothermia too when he was telling Jungkook to get back inside.
They were brushing the snow off themselves when Taehyung had strolled into the kitchen. He'd finally woken up from his nap. Jin had him sit at the table while he got him a bowl of soup and a cup of tea ready.
"Is it really cold out there?" Taehyung asked.
"Yes. Don't even think about stepping outside. I thought we were only supposed to get a few inches but a blizzard started out of nowhere," Jimin informed.
Taehyung laughed a little bit. "Trust me, I had no intention of going out there."
Jimin walked over and kissed the top of Taehyung's head. Jungkook followed Jimin and then kissed the top of Taehyung's head too, mainly to be a copycat and tease his hyungs.
Hobi ran into the kitchen and said a blizzard was coming.
"You're a little late with that one," Jin replied while laughing. "Jimin and Jungkook were already out in it. It looks pretty bad out there."
Soon everyone was staring out the window and saw nothing but white. It truly had become impossible to see a thing, and everyone was quite thankful that Hobi had let practice end early. They would much rather be stuck inside their own dorm than inside their studio.
Taehyung asked how long the blizzard was supposed to last, and Hobi informed him that it was supposed to last all night. The alert he had gotten said the blizzard had come on suddenly (the meteorologists were really, really bad at their jobs) and to expect white-out conditions. Travel was considered basically impossible, and the temperature outside was expected to plummet into the negatives. The alert even warned people to bring all outside pets in, stating that the outside temperature would in fact lead to hypothermia and impossible living conditions. Yoongi joked and said it was a good thing Jungkook and Jimin had already made it safely inside.
Taehyung kept it to himself, but he was a bit worried about the weather. He didn't like the idea of being trapped anywhere, even if it was his own dorm, incase of some kind of emergency. The information about the weather worked up his nerves as he knew if he even dared to walk outside it would probably kill him immediately. Thankfully, inside their dorm was already quite warm and cozy, thanks to his members, and he felt relatively well after finishing up his tea and soup that Jin had made.
The members spent their time later into the night curled up in their living room together watching shows and movies.
Taehyung's asthma attack hit out of nowhere.
He was doing fine for most of the night, simply resting on the couch between Yoongi and Hobi. He suddenly started to cough a little bit, which immediately worried everyone so Jungkook had gotten up and grabbed his hyung's inhaler for him.
The inhaler was empty.
Taehyung had used the entire thing already, and didn't have any spares laying around.
Jin helped Taehyung sit up on the couch, and Taehyung's eyes were full of terror when he went to take that first puff and nothing came out of it.
"N-no," Taehyung gasped. He started coughing while desperately trying to take more puffs of his inhaler, but there was still nothing coming out. He checked it to see the little indicator at the bottom display that there were 0 puffs left. He could have sworn he had so much more than that left, but he had also been sucking down the medicine from it more than usual that day.
Taehyung couldn't speak. He felt his throat closing up and it felt like a million pound weight had been placed on his chest. He grabbed at his throat as he began to hyperventilate. The only noises coming from him were his wheezing and the intense rattling of his lungs. He felt himself choking on mucus.
He grabbed onto Jin's shirt so tightly that his knuckles turned white. A grip of absolute terror. He had tears pouring out of his eyes as he looked at his hyung, desperate for saving.
Do anything. Please, Jin. Any of you. Please do anything. I can't breathe. I can't breathe.
"Taehyung!" Yoongi screamed when he realized Taehyung was in so much distress and had no medicine in his inhaler left.
Namjoon ran into Taehyung's room and sprinted back with the nebulizer in hopes that it would help if his inhaler couldn't.
The nebulizer was out of medicine too.
"Oh, fuck." Panic shot through Namjoon, and once everyone else realized what was going on, panic took hold of all of them.
Yoongi was harshly patting Taehyung's back, trying to help him cough up the mucus that was overtaking his lungs. The rattling sound got even worse. Taehyung could feel his heart racing and he began to sweat. Not only was the asthma attack causing distress, but the anxiety of not having medicine anymore only added to his terror.
He clawed at his chest and throat, feeling like if he could rip them open then oxygen would be able to get in. He was actually starting to make himself bleed before Jimin grabbed his hands and pulled them back. "Hey, no, no. Don't do that. You can't hurt yourself like that."
Taehyung was trying to breathe in, but within .2 seconds of trying, each breath only resulted in more coughing and choking. He started having flashbacks to when he was a kid and almost died.
This is exactly what it felt like when the doctor's almost couldn't save him.
And now here he was with no medicine, and no doctors.
Hobi had called for an ambulance, but was met with some really shitty news. The operator said they would do their best to get someone out to the dorm, however because of the blizzard and zero visibility, rescue could take a while. They didn't live all that far from the hospital, on a normal day it was only a ten minute drive. It was hard to determine how long rescue would take now.
"Well then what the hell are we supposed to do?! He can't breathe, and he has no medicine!" Hobi didn't mean to scream at the operator, but he was panicking and desperate to get Taehyung help.
While he was screaming on the phone, Yoongi was still patting Taehyung's back while Jin was patting his chest. Namjoon was holding Taehyung's hand and repeatedly telling him that he was going to be okay, and to continue to try breathing.
Seeing the state Taehyung was in, Jungkook had fallen into a panic attack. He was so scared seeing Taehyung like that that it caused him to start crying and hyperventilating too. Jimin grabbed Jungkook and pulled him back into the hallway. He pulled his maknae into a hug and rubbed his back. "You have to be strong for him, Kookie. He can't see you so scared, you know that will only scare him and make him feel worse."
"I-I-I don't want him to die. My Taehyungie is going to die, isn't he?" Jungkook was sobbing into Jimin's chest.
Jimin ran his hands through Jungkook's hair. "No, no, no. Of course not. We would never let that happen. Okay, bunny? Your Taehyungie isn't going to die. We are going to do whatever we need to do. But what I need you to do is be brave and strong for him. Can you do that? Hmm?"
Jungkook was trying to catch his breath and force himself to calm down. Thankfully, Jimin's words and his tight embrace were helping. "O-o-k-kay, hyung. I will. For Taehyungie. I-I have to be strong for Taeh-h-yungie."
"There you go," Jimin said as he gave Jungkook a moment to calm down. He wouldn't let his maknae see that he, too, was on the verge of a panic attack. As much as he told Jungkook he needed to be brave for Taehyung, Jimin knew he had to be strong for both Taehyung and Jungkook.
"Now let's go help him, yeah?" Jimin asked.
Jungkook nodded and let Jimin lead him back to the living room.
They walked in to hear Hobi still panicking on the phone with the operator. "You guys have to have some kind of ambulance that can get through this kind of weather quickly, don't you? Please! Use a damn military tank if you have to, or something! Send a plow truck! Please just get someone here with medicine! He can't breathe!"
Hobi was crying while watching the others trying to desperately help Taehyung.
"Sir, I promise we are doing all we can," the operator replied.
Taehyung's skin was turning white while his lips were turning blue. His eyes were bloodshot because of all the crying, and he was still clawing at his chest and throat so much that he was bleeding even worse.
"Taehyungie...Taehyungie listen to me," Jungkook said while gripping his hyung's cheeks. "You have to try to stop crying, hyungie. It's making this worse. I know you're scared, but can you at least try to relax your muscles?"
Taehyung tired to, he really did, but it was like his body had other plans. As soon as he tried to lay back against the couch he clutched onto Jungkook's shirt and started crying even more. I'm really going to die this time.
"How is he with steam?" the operator on the phone asked Hobi. "If he's good with steam, turn the shower on to the highest setting and get him into the bathroom. Close the door."
Hobi knew Taehyung's asthma let up with steam. For some people it really helped them, and for others it made their asthma worse.
At least Taehyung had that little advantage.
"Steam!" Hobi screamed. "The bathroom! The shower! Make steam! Now!"
Namjoon and Jin ran to the bathroom to get things situated there. While they did that, Jimin and Yoongi ran to the kitchen and started boiling pots of water on every stove burner. They didn't know what good that would really do, but they figured the more steam in the dorm the better. They hoped to fill the entire place with it.
Jungkook, being the strong muscular maknae that he was, lifted Taehyung up into his arms to help get him into the bathroom. Hobi remained on the line with the operator who kept giving instructions on how to help.
Everyone was now in the bathroom with the door tightly shut, and the shower on full blast on the hottest setting. The room had turned into what felt like a sauna rather quickly.
Taehyung started coughing more, but this time when he did, he was actually able to get mucus up and out of his lungs, to the point of throwing it up.
"Hey! There! There!" Namjoon cheered. "That's good! Just keep trying to get it up, I know you can, Tae!"
Taehyung felt slight relief at the tiniest ounce of oxygen he felt make its way into his lungs. The steam in the room was really starting to loosen things up for him, giving him room to cough junk up and suck oxygen down.
The operator kept giving them time estimates. Twenty minutes, fifteen minutes, ten minutes...
Yoongi was holding Taehyung's hands down so he'd stop scratching at himself. "Look at me, just focus on me, okay? Keep trying to breathe. Count with me. One...two..."-Taehyung was doing his best to follow along with Yoongi's counting- "three."
More oxygen in, more mucus out. A wave of relief flushed through him again when he felt like things were getting better instead of worse. Everyone was sitting around him on the floor, encouraging him to be brave and to continually take big breaths.
"You're the bravest person I know!" Jimin cheered. He hoped that the encouragement would help get Taehyung to stop crying so much, which would also help him breathe better.
Paramedics finally arrived and rushed into the bathroom. Taehyung reached out for them when he saw one of them holding a nebulizer. It was like having a personal savior come and rescue him as soon as he saw the little machine.
Yoongi saw the steam out in the hallway and remembered to go turn off the stove to stop the boiling pots of water, thinking whether they had helped or not, they weren't needed anymore.
Taehyung clasped the little mouthpiece to his face and inhaled as much as he could. He didn't realize he was clutching onto Namjoon's shirt with his other hand.
Namjoon held his hand, gently caressing the back of it. "There you go," he kept repeating.
The paramedics had used some special ambulance to get to the dorm. It even had a snow plow on the front of it and a special radar camera to help them navigate their way through the streets. They said they needed to get Taehyung to the hospital as fast as possible, so there was no time to waste. He had to get there so they could check his oxygen levels and make sure he didn't run out of medicine.
The members begged and pleaded to go into the ambulance with him because they wouldn't be able to drive to the hospital themselves, and they were given permission.
Due to it being so frigid outside, Taehyung was tucked up under heating blankets after being placed on a stretcher, and he held the nebulizer against his face. Every breath came with new relief.
He could breathe so much better, and he was finally being rescued. He still couldn't stop crying though, because even if he was on the mend, this entire ordeal was scary as hell. The thought of being on the road in an ambulance in weather like this didn't help him feel any better either, but he was glad all of his members were right there with him.
The ambulance was able to get to the dorm. Please just get us to the hospital...
Everyone crowded into the back of the ambulance. On the way to the hospital Taehyung was given some IV's and more medicine. They arrived safely and Taehyung was rushed inside. He was having trouble staying awake as his eyes kept fluttering open and closed. His breathing wasn't quite back to normal yet, but it was a hell of a lot better than it had been before the ambulance arrived. He wanted to fight sleep so badly because he was terrified that he wouldn't wake back up or ever see his members again. His body succumbed to exhaustion and he passed out anyway.
The members were allowed to follow him into his room while they got him situated in his bed. Everyone except Jungkook followed doctors in.
Jungkook stayed out in the hallway, and then crouched down against the wall and placed his face into his hands, resting his elbows on his knees. Jimin caught sight of him and ran back into the hall, crouching next to him and placing his hands around his maknae's shoulders.
"He's going to be alright," Jimin said.
Jungkook looked at his hyung with tear filled eyes. "You don't know that."
"What? Koo...he was doing better by the time we got here."
Jungkook shrugged. "Until he takes a turn for the worse once again."
"Listen to me," Jimin said as he cupped Jungkook's cheek in his hand. "It won't. Okay? We will make sure of it. He ran out of medicine, and we will make sure that never happens ever again. Hell, if there is another blizzard like this we will even camp out in the hospital waiting room together just in case Taehyung needs help. And you were great, by the way. I think you really helped him. I'm proud of you." He ruffled Jungkook's hair.
Jungkook didn't reply. He was too heartbroken and worried to say much else. Jimin held him for a while, and then Namjoon came out into the hall. He stood there and looked down at the two.
Seeing Namjoon walk out, Jungkook buried his face into his knees and covered his ears. "N-no," he whimpered. He was terrified of the news Namjoon was going to give him. "Don't t-tell me. I don't want him to die." His tears were dripping off his chin and splashing on the hospital floor.
"Jungkook..." Namjoon said softly as he crouched in front of him.
Jungkook curled his body up into itself back against the wall as he covered his ears even harder. "No."
Jimin silently mouthed to Namjoon, "Is he okay?"
"Taehyung will be just fine." Namjoon waited for Jungkook to relax, but he didn't think the maknae had heard him.
"Did you hear that Koo?" Jimin started to lightly shake him. "TaeTae is okay! See, he's okay!"
"He's okay?" Jungkook wiped his tears as Namjoon and Jimin helped him to his feet and led him into the hospital room.
The sight was devastating. Taehyung had wires and tubes hooked up to him, along with a little breathing apparatus attached to his face. He was in a pretty deep sleep while hooked up to a monitor that kept track of his breathing patterns and how much oxygen he was getting.
Jungkook turned to Namjoon and Jimin, a little angry. "You said he was okay."
Jin walked over and hugged Jungkook. "He will be, Kookie. All of this is helping him. It's what he needs right now, as hard as it is. He will wake up and be as good as new." He pulled Jungkook tightly into his chest and rocked him for a moment.
There wasn't much any of the members could do except sit around the hospital room and wait for Taehyung to wake up. Namjoon was constantly watching the breathing monitor making sure it didn't start making any weird beeps or sounds.
Thankfully it hadn't.
After an exhausting day and night, the members sat together on some of the hospital room couches and got some rest. They were woken up the next day by the sound of nurses and doctors speaking and moving about. They looked to see the breathing machine was taken off of Taehyung and he was sitting up, smiling. He had dark circles under his eyes and overall looked terrible, but his smile brightened up the entire room.
"Taehyung!" Yoongi was the first to get up and run to him, embracing him in a hug. "How are you feeling? Are you feeling okay?" He gently rubbed his dongsaeng's chest.
Taehyung wanted to cry tears of joy but convinced himself that right now would not be a good time to cry. He couldn't help but be overcome with emotion when he'd woken up able to breathe completely fine on his own and to see all of his members curled up together sleeping.
He put his hand on his chest and took a big breath in. "I feel a lot better now."
"It's good to hear that," Yoongi replied.
Jungkook and Hobi both crawled into the bed with Taehyung and sandwiched him between them. Jungkook nuzzled his head into Taehyung's neck but didn't say much. Taehyung wrapped his arm around him.
Hobi ruffled Taehyung's hair. "Glad you're alright, kiddo. You scared the hell out of us."
"I'm sorry," Taehyung replied. "I never meant to scare anyone."
"No, don't apologize. Shitty luck isn't your fault." Jimin grabbed Taehyung's hand and squeezed it. "But can you please try to stop having such shitty luck?" he teased.
Taehyung giggled softly. "I can try."
"How the hell was all of your medicine empty?" Jin asked. "We just got everything refilled not that long ago."
"I don't know." The members could hear in Taehyung's tone that he felt a bit guilty about it, so got to work trying to make sure he knew it wasn't his fault.
"Well you weren't feeling well, and had to use more than usual. We could all see how it would come as a surprise," Hobi said.
Everyone nodded their heads in agreement, making sure Taehyung wouldn't feel bad about what happened.
The room fell silent for a minute as everyone stood, or laid next to, Taehyung. The blizzard outside was still happening so nobody was leaving even if they wanted to. Taehyung had continuously thanked everyone for helping him the best they knew how. As scary as the entire ordeal was, he knew he could count on them to literally save his life if needed.
Doctors spent the day in and out of the room to keep checking on things. They made sure to get Taehyung a bunch of refills for his inhaler and nebulizer treatments, and also equipped him with a ton of spares to bring home with him when he was ready to be discharged. That wouldn't be for a few more days, though.
Everyone was finally relaxing and chit-chatting about the weather and work and other typical things when Yoongi suddenly furrowed his brow and stopped talking mid sentence.
"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked.
"I...hmm," Yoongi pinched his chin as if deep in thought, "we have been gone from the dorm for a while...
I hope I remembered to turn the stove off."
[The End]
