"What are you doing here septic eye? You're a failure, you're not going to win the competition."
Anti looked around to see who was talking, but could find no one in the ice rink with him.
Everything felt freezing like he was standing in the middle of a blizzard instead of on the ice with his skates lying on the ground a few feet from him. He could see his a cloud of air rise in the air with each breath he took, chilling his lungs as he inhaled the cold air.
"You're weak. Pathetic. Murphy should've let you freeze to death."
Anti whirled around to see Dark standing behind him with his arms folded across his chest, his expression neutral and gentle dark brown eyes icy cold like the air around them.
"You haven't left the house in weeks, you've done no training." Dark scowled as he took a step closer.
"It's about time I finished what I started all those years ago."
Dark gradually disappeared like a cloud of breath in the air, leaving Billy standing in his place with a black pocket knife in hand that was stained with blood, glinting off of the lights overhead.
Without warning, Billy charged towards Anti and tackled him to the ice, slitting his throat in one clean slice, staining the ice crimson.
Anti let out a yelp as his body made contact with his bedroom floor, his nose smashed into the carpet with his legs and arms wrapped tightly in his comforter like a full body restraining jacket.
His entire body shook with cold, cold sweat matting his hair to his forehead and causing his t-shirt to stick to his back.
"Screw you Billy." Anti hissed under his breath, sniffing to stop his runny nose from leaking as he struggled to wiggle his arms free.
It took him what felt like forever until he finally managed to free himself from his comforter and crawl back into bed. He hesitated before checking the time, praying it wasn't the time he was thinking it was.
It was four in the morning.
Anti groaned in annoyance, knowing he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep as he grabbed his phone to scroll through social media.
He was surprised to see pictures of him and Dark everywhere, including some rather "special" pictures that made Anti blush and squirm uncomfortably.
"How the hell does anyone know of us?" Anti frowned on confusion, going to YouTube to try and see if there were videos of them.
Instead he saw an endless list of videos from the two people he was supposed to kill.
Jacksepticeye and Markiplier had invented dark personas of them and tended into drag them into videos much to their fan's delight.
Anti couldn't help but watch some of their videos, surprised to find himself laughing during them. He learned Jack had a tendency to shout.
A lot.
We could probably get along well, Anti thought with wry amusement as he smirked.
Except I have to kill him and Mark, Anti thought bitterly. He felt his smile fade as he let out a sigh, looking up what time it was in LA so he could face time Dark on Skype.
It was eight in the morning, so he figured he could at least give it a try.
"Hello?" Dark answered on the first ring. Anti could see a giant ice rink behind Dark, as well as a lady that Anti assumed was his coach.
"Sorry, I didn't know you were busy." Anti apologized, biting his upper lip.
"It's okay, I'm on break for another ten or so minutes. So, what's up?" Dark prompted.
Anti didn't realize that he had nothing to say to Dark until that moment. He didn't want to worry him about his nightmare and during practice was definitely a bad time to talk about the two people they were planning on killing.
"Uh, I just...I've been watching Mark and Jack's videos." Anti blurted.
"Same here, I figured it would be good to get as much info as possible from them before we actually meet them." Dark admitted.
"I don't understand why we have to-do what we're doing." Anti caught himself.
"Remember what Infelix said when you questioned him during the briefing for Rodriguez's case?" Dark raised a questioning eyebrow.
"Rule one: don't question the client. Rule two: don't fuck up the mission. Rule three: never bail no matter what, even if the cops show up and take us all to jail. Otherwise I will personally track your ass down and make you pay." Anti recited Infelix's words from memory.
"Exactly. I don't doubt that he could do any of those things since he's-"
Dark abruptly broke off, clearing his throat before changing the subject.
"How're you feeling?" Dark asked.
"Sick and tired as usual." Anti sighed, sniffing before turning his head away to cough.
"How's your coach?" Anti gestured to the woman behind him
"Ah, Smith. She's...competitive. Not that I blame her, I am too, but...she tends to have twelve hour practices everyday." Dark glanced back over his shoulder at her.
"Where are you? Your rink looks s lot bigger than mine." Anti pretended to pout, folding his arms across his chest.
"LA Kings Valley Ice Center. It's actually a pretty nice place." Dark smirked as he turned his phone in a slow circle to show Anti the rink.
Large cubicle like areas lined the left and right side of the rink, the front and back sides lined with bulletproof glass with bleachers behind them for viewers.
"Dark, break time's over!" Smith yelled.
"Guess that's my cue to leave." Dark smiled sheepishly with an apologetic wave
"Bye." Anti waved back before Dark ended the call.
Anti waited a beat before calling Murphy, biting his lip as he aired for him to answer.
"Anti?"
"I'm ready for practice."
Murphy sighed, the sound audible on the phone despite the poor quality.
"Alright, meet me at the rink."
