Fresh Start
"WHAT THE HELL?!?" Anti screamed, the wind whipping his hair back and nearly tearing the bag out of his grip as he hurtled towards the green land below him.
"PUT THE BAG ON, IT'S A PARACHUTE!" Dark yelled, managing to swing the back pack over his shoulders and pull the string sticking out of the bag, causing him to shoot up a couple of feet as the parachute opened up and filled with air, separating him from Anti.
"DARK!" Anti cried out, fumbling with his parachute and desperately pulling on the string.
The string snapped off into his hand.
Dark noticed that Anti's parachute wasn't open, so he tugged his parachute off and dive bombed towards him, snagging onto Anti's arm and tearing his backpack opening and fumbling with the crumpled up parachute.
The ground was rapidly approaching them, the landscape more discernible than just a bunch of green.
Anti heard the parachute unfurl a few feet away from the unforgiving ground, causing him to fly up a bit before moving forward and landing in a tree.
Anti's face smacked into the trunk of the trees before he fell to the ground dazed, his vision spinning.
"You okay?" Dark asked from where he was tangled upside down in the branches of the tree and the strings of the parachute, a shallow gash running from his forehead to his jaw that caused blood to drip onto the grass.
"Yeah, I'll be fine." Anti mumbled, shaking his head to clear his vision slightly.
"I think I'm just gonna hang around here for awhile." Dark joked with a playfully smirk.
"I gotcha." Anti assured him, ignoring his joke as he slowly climbed up the tree with his black pocket knife in hand.
He sawed away at the strings and branches until Dark came crashing to the ground head first, the grass only slightly softening his landing.
"Sorry!" Anti apologized sheepishly as he scrambled back down, helping Dark stand back up.
"I'm fine." Dark promised, gently massaging the top of his head where a large bump was already forming.
"Where even are we?" Anti frowned as he glanced around at his surroundings.
It looked like they were in a forest by a highway, a sign written in a language Anti didn't know nearby.
"Willkommen in Berlin. It's German for Welcome to Berlin." Dark translated, wiping some of the blood off of his face.
"What do we have?" Anti muttered to himself as he managed to jump up and tear the bag down from the tree.
Inside was an envelope filled with a million euros, a large bag of teriyaki beef jerky, pitch black Mountain Dew, and a first aid kit.
"Should we try to find your bag too?" Anti asked as he retrieved a sewing kit with rainbow thread and stitched Dark's cut after cleaning it.
"Sure." Dark shrugged.
"You look like a gay Frankenstein." Anti remarked with a chuckle once he was finished.
"Gee thanks." Dark replied sarcastically with a small smirk.
They searched around them for awhile, finding Dark's backpack lying on the other side of the highway deep in the woods.
Inside his bag was another million euros, extra clothes, and hygiene products for the two of them.
"Why do you understand German?" Anti questioned as they started walking down the road.
"My dad was German and my mom was Korean, so I learned both languages when I was younger." Dark explained, adjusting the position of his bag slung over his shoulder.
"I wish I knew more languages." Anti sighed wistfully.
"I can teach you." Dark offered.
"Really?" Anti gasped excitedly.
"Why not? We're free from Infelix, he's dumped us here in Germany so now we don't have to deal with him ever again!" Dark laughed giddily like a kid on Christmas, a large grin lighting up his face.
"You're right." Anti whispered in disbelief, the realization crashing down on him.
They were free from Infelix and didn't need to kill anyone else ever again.
Or so they thought.
Just as a heads up, there will only be a couple of chapters left. Enjoy!
