Chapter 1
Dark.
Cold.
Nothing.
Council, the protector of all the dimensions, had been working for months to finish his precious key. The key had two sides to it. The key of protection was used for good and kept all the dimensions from ever colliding with each other in fear of all the problems it could cause. However, the key of darkness was pure black and could control all who came in contact with it.
The key was being created out of water and Council's own power. The key was almost finished and ready to help him with whatever he ordered it to do.
"Dad?" asked a small boys voice from behind.
Council turned and faced the small boy. "Yes Andrew? What do you need?"
"Mom said dinner is almost ready!" Andrew smiled. His messed up brown hair fell in his face covering his red eyes partially. He wore a black tshirt, jeans and black converse.
"Tell your mother I am almost done with the key and will be out in a moment." he replied.
The six year old boy nodded and quickly ran out of the room.
Council turned back to the key and put the rest of the power needed into it. The room began to glow purple and a flash of light caused him to fly backwards.
Serene's POV
I woke up in a room covered with purple. I quickly sat up in bed and examined the room. I was confused, how did I get here. I don't have any memories before now.
"I see you are awake my dear," said a voice from the corner of the purple room. I looked over in the corner to see a man with brown hair, red dragon like wings sprouting from his back, wearing a dark brown leather jacket, black shirt and boots. He slowly walked over to me and kneeled beside my bed.
"W-Who are y-you? W-Where am I?" I stammered.
"My name is Council, but I am also your father." he smiled at me. He then picked me up out of bed and carried me over to the mirror. My purple hair hung over my shoulders as I stared into the dark blueish purple eyes of my reflection. I wore a black shirt, purple skirt and black sandals. I giggled a little as I twirled in the skirt. I couldn't help myself I was only about five years old.
My dad smiled and kissed the top of my head. "You truly are amazing my sweet Serene."
So that was my name.
Serene.
Two Weeks Later
I quickly ran down the hall away from my annoying and completely mean brother, Andrew. I was still getting used to my water powers and I accidentally flooded the training room with him in it and now he is trying to kill me! I could feel him getting closer when all of a sudden I felt him grab my arm and slam me into a wall.
I screamed in pain as he held me still and smirked.
"What's wrong Serene? Can't get out of my grip?"
I struggled to get out until he grabbed me by the hair and dragged me back down the hallway. I kicked and screamed as he dragged me towards his room. I didn't like it in there. He had all these weapons he would test out on me.
For a six year old he was really violent and pure evil.
"Andrew! Let go of me!" I cried as he dragged me into his room and chained me to a wall.
"Oh come on sis, don't ruin my fun!" he replied as he picked up a black sword.
I wrapped water around the chains and tried to turn it to hot water but I was too late. I felt the cold blade go strait through my side causing me to scream and cry in pain.
"Oh I'm sorry did that hurt you little sister?" he smirked.
My side felt like it was on fire and the pain kept getting worse as the world around me began to get blurry.
I heard a scream from the doorway and looked over at it wearily to see my mom staring in horror at Andrew.
Then all went black.
I woke up in my room feeling strange. I gently laid my hand against my side; the wound was gone! But how? Perhaps my father or mother healed it somehow. I quickly jumped out of bed and ran over to my mirror. What I saw made me scream.
Instantly my dad ran into the room.
"Serene? What's wrong? Did something happen?" he questioned me.
I was staring in the mirror at a mark on my neck. The mark was shaped like a key and glowed bright purple.
My dad looked at the mark and smirked. I didn't understand why he was smirking but it was really scaring me.
"Daddy? Why are you smirking?" I asked.
He stared at me for a moment then picked me up and walked out of my room without a word.
What was going on?
"Daddy? Where are you taking me?"
Again no answer. He carried me down a dark, scary hallway and into his work room.
He told me and Andrew to never go in here but why was he bringing me in here now?
Daddy then set me down on his work table and examined the mark on my neck. I felt his cold fingers go over the mark which shot a sharp pain throughout my body, causing me to pull away quickly.
"Daddy it hurts!" I complained.
He stood there and smirked. "The power is growing."
Power? What power?! I was scared and confused.
I heard a noise come from outside the door.
I looked over at the doorway to see a girl my age with blue hair.
She stared right at me.
Daddy turned and frowned at the girl. "Abby, I told you to not come in here!"
