Hey, guys. It's your favourite Lunatic~ Anyway, I should be writing the extra chapter for DeCipher series but hey, when your mind decided that you want to do a review on your current favourite manga, you have to do it! I have my priorities straight that my friends are gonna be proud of me!

Record of Ragnarok by FUKUI Takumi & UMEMURA Shinya and illustrated by AJI Chika.

Some of you might of this manga. Hell, one of my chapters is heavily influenced by one of the fights from this story.

Summary: The story begins when the gods call a convention to decide whether to let humanity live or die, and settle on destroying humanity. But a lone valkyrie puts forward a suggestion to let the gods and humanity fight one last battle, as the last hope for humanity's continued survival. 13 gods will fight against 13 human champions in one-on-one battles to decide whether humanity lives or dies.

TlTLDRThis manga is Tournament of Powers...but better.

I will not go in-depth on the stories since there's a lot of spoilers for people who don't know this manga. Now on worth to the review~

Storyline:

- The pacing of the storyline is can be slow from time-to-time but it gave us the solid characterization as well as the backstories and their motivation in the fights. For people who like to read manga about people fighting each other to death, then this is your poison.
- The entire fight can be a rollercoaster as it cuts the fight in-between for a little bit of flashback for the character but works well into the story as the fight goes on.
- As the story progress, we get to see some other historical figures that can be apart of the crowd with their narrative as what their thought on both the fight and the characters that were occurring in the field. The Gods also got their moment to shine as the view on Humanity keeps on changing from disbelief to hype to various amount of emotion.

Artstyle:

- The art style...It's beautiful. Well, not exactly. By beautiful, I mean on how the mangaka manages to portray some emotions on the characters as every single one of them are detailed. From the crowds to the Gods, to even the fight itself.
- The face expression of the characters will always give you the sense of 'Wtf' as it wasn't normal at all...I'm looking at you Bryn. But hey, that's the charm of the manga. Their facial expression reminds you of some animes or mangas that always to this exaggerated face in a good way.

The Characters:

Don't worry Astaroth-Origin, she ain't the Bryn you running away from. Alright, now~

- At the beginning of the story, we can see the characteristic of all the casts as minimal as possible. We don't know how they will act and what is the big deal about them.
- The more we got into the backstory, we began to understand on why they acted that way and what is their motivation. Will you root for the character to win or not.
- Yes, this manga makes you choose whether you want Humanity to win or Gods.

Will you believe that this is my favourite character in the series? Because yes. He is. This man right here is the Father of Humanity. Now, I will go in-depth about this character but he pretty much GOAT of the centuries.

Ayato: And the fact that you based off your insert character from him, makes me think that you're the second coming of-

Anyway,

- The only things that bum me out are the roster of the contestants. Sure, it's a solid group by I think it should represent more of the historical figures. But eh, I don't mind really. Also please refrain yourself for making this joke:

Kratos, Goku, Asura, Saitama, King Arthur and Chuck Norris should represent Humanity.

Sorry, I found it annoying and stupid...I don't why but it does. 

BOTTOM LINE!:

This manga is worth reading...Yes, it does have a slow update which is a bummer but the suspense and the details of the stories is worth the wait. You could read it alone or watch this-

I give this manga 8.5/10 since it is still ongoing my thought might change depends on the writing. Anyway, thanks for reading this...
