Chapter 9~ Life Sucks

Danielle's POV~

I can't miss Ashton's hugs. He's made my whole high school experience a living hell. I should hate his guts. But at this moment, I don't. we let go and stood there awkwardly. Anne must have felt it too. She broke the silence. "Dinner will be ready in 10 minutes." she said. Ashton and I walked out into the living room to watch some t.v.

I plopped down on the end of the couch and he sat at the other end. There was a huge gap between us. "So Ash." I say not looking at him. I saw out of the corner of my eye him turn and look at me. "What did I miss in history today?" I ask. He shrugged. "Nothing really. Other then I had to work on OUR project alone." he said. I turned to face him and pointed at him. "Don't think I wanted to leave early. My dad came and got me." I growled. "Whatever." he crossed his arms over his chest and turned away.

See why I can't stand him?! Him and his stupid, bitchy attitude. I scoffed and turned away. I started watching t.v. Lauren must have beeN

in here first cause its Pretty Little Liars. My favorite show. When is the food going to be done?

10 minutes took forever. Anne called us all in for dinner. She sat at the end with my dad on the right of her. Harry sat on the left of Anne, Lauren sat next to Harry and I sat next to my dad. Ashton sat across from his mother. We sat and ate in silence. There was occasionally small talk, but it only lasted about 3 minutes. "Ashton. Do you know a boy by the name of Luke?" my dad asked. My head shot up. No he didn't.

He shook his head. "Yeah. He's in my band. Why?" he questioned. "Because he was in my house earlier when I wasn't there and he was upstairs with Danielle." he explained. I looked at everyone. I bit my lip due to the nerves I was feeling. I got a stern look from Anne and a death glare from Ashton. I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up and walked out the front door. I started running down the street and I could hear my dad calling me.

I ran about 2 blocks before I stopped to catch my breath. I have no where to go. Then I remembered what Luke told me. I pulled out my phone and called him. It rang 3 times before he picked up.

"Hey Dani. What's up."

"Can I come over please?" I asked frantically.

"Yeah. Where are you? I'll come pick you up." he said.

"Umm. I'm on the corner where the supermarket is." I say.

"Okay I'll be there in 10 minutes max." he hung up.

I waited for him to get there when a car pulled up in front of me. Its was my dad. He got out the car and slammed the door shut. "Daniella Anna Marie Brooks! Get your ass in this car now!" his voice boomed. I couldn't move. I'm scared of him, but if I don't move I'll get in more trouble. He sighed and walked towards me. He stood in front of me, looking down at me. "Get in the car. NOW!" he yelled. I was about to move when Luke drove up. He walked toward me and my dad.

"Danielle. Are you okay?" he asked as he grabbed me in a hug, and placed his chin on my head. I held tight to him. I didn't want to let go and turn around to my dad. Who knows what he would do to me when I leave with Luke. "What the hell are you doing here?" my dad questioned Luke. He lifted his chin off my head and looked at my dad, but didn't let me go. "She called me to come and get her. I said I would be here for her and I'm not gonna let her down." he replied. I looked up at Luke and let go. I turned to my dad. "I'm leaving with Luke." I say. He raised an eyebrow at me. "Excuse me? What the fuck did you just say?" he asked with a questioning voice. "I said I'm leaving with Luke." my voice louder this time. I turned to walk to Luke's car.

That's when I felt a hit to the back of my head.I fell to the ground and everything went black.

Luke's POV~

What did I just do? i just did the most stupidest thing of my life. Danielle's dad walked over to me with a smirk on his face. "Nice job kid. But next time don't hesitate or you'll be the one to hit get upside the head." He patted me on the back and walked towards his car. "What do you want me to do with her?" I yelled. "Take her back to your place and let her stay the night." he said as he got in his car. He drove off and the car's lights faded out into the distance.

I walked over the Dani who was laying lifeless on the ground. I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder. I opened the car door and placed her in the passenger seat. I slammed the door and got in the car. I didn't do anything. I just sat there looking at Dani. I felt so bad for what I had done. The anger built inside of me. The anger and the guilt. I had to let it out before I did something stupid. Again. I screamed and started hitting the steering wheel. "Why? Why? WHY?" I screamed out. Tears ran down my face. My life sucks so bad, but there's nothing I can do about it. All I can do is deal with it.

We got back to my place and Danielle isn't awake yet. I was starting to get worried, but she started to move a bit. I walked to the passenger door and opened it. I carried Danielle bridal style to my house. "Shit." I cursed under my breath. I forgot my house key at Calum's house. I leaned to the door and knocked. My mum opened the door and looked at me with a shocked expression. "No she isn't dead. Just unconscious mum." I assure her. I walked in and up the stairs.

I entered my room and closed the door with my foot. I laid her on my bed and was hoping she'd wake up soon. I changed into my pajamas which is sweat pants and a plain grey t-shirt. I walked downstairs to the kitchen make Danielle something to eat for when she wakes up. I walked to the fridge and placed my hand on the handle. I didn't move. I just placed my head on the door. I sighed and replayed everything that happened tonight. I felt a tear roll down my face.

All of a sudden, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I whipped my head around to see my mum looking at me. "I know Luke. I hate having to do this too, but we have to." she said. I know she hates doing this to, but she didn't have to hit the girl she's madly in love with. I shrugged her hand off my shoulder and walked to my room to make sure Danielle was okay.

When I walked in, she was laying on my bed watching t.v. She looked over at me and smiled. "What happened? All I remember is walking towards your car." she said. I sat down next to her. I looked into her eyes. "Umm." I scratched the back of my neck. "Some kids were playing football and the ball hit you in the back on the head." I lied. "Really? A football? I thought that wouldn't knock me out." she questioned. "I forgot you guys call football soccer here. You got hit with a soccer ball in the back of the head." I say and then chuckle nervously.

She looked at me with a confused face, but I think she believed it because she went back to watching t.v. I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding in. "You hungry?" I asked. She shook her head no, but then grimaced in pain. "Got any aspirin?" she asked.

I nodded and walked to the bathroom. I got two aspirins and went back to my room. I gave her the aspirin. "I'm stupid you need water. Be back." I say. "No don't worry. I can swallow them without water." she assured me. She placed them in her mouth and tilted her head back and swallowed them.

She yawned. "Tired?" I asked. She nodded. I got in the bed with her and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. She place her head on my chest and we laid there watching t.v. About fifteen minutes later, I looked down and she was fast asleep and looked adorable. I turned the t.v. off and got comfortable, but made she I didn't wake her. I ran my fingers through her hair and kiss her forehead. "Goodnight Dani. And I'm sorry." I whispered to her. I shut my eyes and fell asleep.

Heya guys what's up? This is my favorite chapter so far and the title is soooo true. Life does suck, but not all the time like when you find out you may get tickets to see 5SOS!!

And I'm sorry for not updating for a awhile. I'm going through so personal stuff, but it should be done with pretty soon. I hope.

But how was the chapter? With Luke doing what he did?

Danielle leaving the dinner?

Danielle's dad being how he is?

And Danielle's unsure if she still has feelings for Ash?
