Prologue

The air outside was cold, clouds and rain rolling over the somber streets of New York City, a figure stepped out of the shadows with a dark gleam in his eye. The softshell was decked in purple a harsh glare seemingly imprinted on his face. "I have the address; we've got to get to that facility." He spoke, voice seeming cold and distant. His blue banded twin nodded in agreement, and the ones in orange and red merely nodded and clenched their hands tightly around their weapons.

"Okay Leo, how are we even going to get in?" Mikey asked, a grin on his softer features. The box turtle had his arms crossed to keep from fidgeting. The blue clad male, a red eared slider as opposed to his brothers, shook his head, shivering at the rain dampening his mask. "Well, we'll have to knock out a bunch of people, and Donnie's taking care of shutting off the security cameras, it'll be a quick get in and get out mission..." The turtle said, voice having gotten a bit deeper and more serious in the years that passed. The alligator snapping turtle beside him nodded.

"Yeah, Don, you got everything we need?" Raph, clad in a now soaked red band across his eyes asked softly. He received a nod in turn and sighed gently. "Okay, let's get started toward the building." He grumbled out, and with those words, the four turtles used their ninja skills to move swiftly across the rooftops.

-Timeskip-

Six turtles were sat, each in a different room made of glass with a small cradle inside. Each were found unable to sleep. A shrill cry broke through the air moments prior, and she wouldn't shut up, no matter how many bolts of electricity were burning her skin through the collar around her neck. She sobbed big heavy tears from the hunger that ripped through her belly, and now from the pain rippling through her throat. at the bruising that would no doubt form. The crying coming from T05 would only get worse when a scientist came in, stabbing a needle for an I.V. through her chubby little arm, each wrong piercing making her cries louder, and the electricity stronger. The scientist cursed and hit her head hard enough to knock her out, shoving the I.V. into her vein and drawing the necessary samples. T01, the oldest of the six looked around and saw something in a vent, babbling and waving a tiny arm at the glimpse of color. The purple banded turtle slipping through the vent nearly choked in shock, seeing the violence. He put a shaky finger to his lips to order the girl to be quiet. An orange banded turtle was outside, glancing through a window, gasping in shock at the horrifying display of aggression to a child. A child, of all things.

"Raph, Raph, there's kids!" Mikey whisper-shouted to his brother. "They knocked out a child for crying!"  The red-clad mutant sighed and shook his head. "I saw Mikey, we'll get them out when we can safely get to them..."  Leo sighed and decided to do the most reckless thing he's ever done and slammed through the window, right into the middle of the holding room. First, he felt the pressure, no immediate pain even as he yelled out in fury, getting up off the floor and drawing his swords as security and scientists began pouring into the room. "Oh shit... there goes Leo, not thinkin' before running up to danger. C'mon Mikey, looks like we got a fight." Raph sighed tiredly, jumping through the window his younger brother made a hole in. Mikey had a grin that spread across his face.

"Oh shell yeah! Let's go!" Mickey rolled into the room, nun chucks swinging as the crowd of violent people drew closer. The fight began, blood spilling and the majority of scientists and security staff were either knocked out or dead. By the end, the brothers looked around and Donnie dropped out of the vent, battle shell having to have been removed to fit into the vent.

"Okay, I'll break open their rooms guys, Leo? portal for home and we can figure out what happens from there..." Donnie said, typing into his metal armband with numerous codes. "I'll figure out where they're storing the files on the kids." The heavy plexiglass doors opened with a hiss and he ran into the first room, looking down at the scarred up kid. "Her door read T01, I'll make sure to read her files but she looks so hurt, even a softshell..." his eyes widened. "They've been doing experiments purposefully on easy to injure children..." the fact left a pit of lead in his belly, watching Leo, Mikey, and Raph emerge from a room each with children in their arms.

"So, I don't have a problem with keeping them, Pops'll be happy to have grandkids..." Leo said with a smile. Donnie nodded gently in agreement. "Okay, but I'll keep this little tyke with me, for safety reasons- of course." He couldn't help but feel a protective instinct flowing through his veins. "When we get home, I'll figure out a game plan." he turned to venture into the facility after watching his brothers leave for the lair, children in tow. "I'll have to call April, she might know what to do, Casey will need an update but Leo will let him and Cassandra know what's up.."
