Chapter 3
It had been many, many sleepless months after the children had been rescued, Donnie was having difficulties with his daughter. In fact, all four turtles had been finding they'd had problems with their children. Raph's daughter Lotus always needed extra help, hopefully Donnie could work on that. Leo's daughter needs help seeing sometimes, which could make it difficult for her to fight. No fights would be held today, for now only shrieks of laughter filled the air. Today would also be the first day Casey came to visit since the kids were brought in.
"C'mon, Odetta, it's your first birthday in the Hamato household, and being the eldest I think you ought to meet your Cousin Casey and, scoff..." He said out loud, which caused the little girl to coo and babble in amusement. "...Even your grandfather Draxum. You've met Grampa Splinter..." he chuckled softly, smiling a bit. "Cute kiddo, you're ruining my total 'sarcastic and distant' bad boy image..." He said sweetly, churring to her gently. The young turtle had been calm and collected since they'd rescued her. Always very calm and collected and rarely raising a fuss over anything. For now, he brought her out of the kitchen, having just gotten her some breakfast. The purple clad turtle sighed and rocked his daughter carefully, seeing his brothers when he walked into the room.
"Mornin' Don, Morning Odetta..." Raph yawned softly, large bags present under his eyes. He looked like shit, not that Donnie could say anything- it's not like he fared any better. In the usually red donned brothers' arms were two eagerly moving twins. "The twins kept me up all night, couldn't sleep much..." Being four-month-olds they required lots of attention, something Raph wasn't struggling with. The trouble was getting them to sleep and stay asleep, which usually seemed to be fixed when Raph stayed either in the room or had the children sleeping beside him or rested on his plastron. Lotus, the lighter brown one was sleeping by Raph's side, while Phantom, a coal black turtle had been resting on his plastron. The alligator snapping turtle sighed sleepily.
"Ya look like shit, Raph, why don't you get a nap before the guests show up and the house goes mental..." Donnie said with a chuckle, patting his daughters head gently. Little Odetta babbled softly at the affection and giggled. Donnie chuckled softly and hummed a bit, listening to his daughter trying to sound words out. "Sh-,shi-,sh-..." the little girl had started trying to mimic his words, unable to fully say the whole thing. "Woah there Odetta, I don't want your first words to be a swear, you're too little for swearing..." Donnie chuckled and patted his daughters head, the little girl squealing and swatting his hand, patting her hands on Donnie's arm where it held her.
Raph yawned and passed out on the couch, sleeping with his two kids. Donnie chuckled a bit and hummed softly, shaking his head. "I should get to work on some of my projects, getting started on that robot idea I had would probably be the best thing for me to start." He thought back to the first A.I he'd managed to build, and wanted to see if he could do anything with that memory card, the only thing left salvageable from his A.I son, S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. If he could just find a way to recreate him, though in this case, not just keep him a drone, truly give this one sentience and life. A good life- he'd grow up, go to school, have friends, and live a good life. He shook his head, already drawing up the schematics in his head and smiled a bit, he'd get started on it later, lest he get too engrossed in work and forget his daughter's birthday.
