Angel Cosplay

I have started a new cosplay, something I can work on while I wait for my other customers to come in. This is my first time using foam core armor. I recommend using an Exacto knife two different sizes. You can find fine tipped ones at the a craft store. You will need a heat gun for shaping.

I had purchased a chest piece template from Kamuicosplay. Her site is www.kamuicosplay.com. She is amazing and the templates are like 4$.  So putting it all together this is what the base looked like.

I used 1/4 foam for this and contact cement to piece it all together. Contact cement is very strong scented to ventilate. Also let the glue dry a bit until it is tacky before sticking pieces together or they won't stick.

Next is to cover it with thin foam for shaping.

This is the final product. I took the picture eyed up the details and created circles ovals or shapes to make the different layers. My next step is to use foam clay called foam-mo from amazon to creat all the beveling and details.

Progress!!! Added detail with a heat gun. Used some foam clay for detail. Going to sand it with a Dremmel to make the detail flatter then it's dealing it with the heat gun. I bought some gold metallic plasti dip as a primer coat. Then I will use acrylic paint to make it look like bronze metal.

The kwik seal is used after sealing the foam with heat gun to full in any gaps. Use water to make it smooth, it is sand able as well.

Plasti dip worked well, spray paint the armor with some metallic brown spray. Next is acrylic painted detail in metallics.

Ok! Paint job all done and sealed. This is the finished product. I won't be adding to this chapter until all of the armor is finished.

Ok! So today I worked on the belt. It was actually pretty easy and nearly finished it in four hours. Just some minor details.

Angel progress!
