Chapter 31

Dia saw that Noctave had changed again once she met her at the Midsummer festival in Noctaria.

Her ears were long and pointed, she had the wings on a dragonfly, her hair was curled, and she had insect antennae. She wore a bodysuit that was adorned with flowers, magenta sunglasses, and her moon disk had an icon of the beach.

"Dia! Glad you could come!" She embraced Dia, who knew that this was, again, a very different Noctave.

"I'm glad too...I didn't know that it was the full moon, so I'm surprised."

"Expect to be surprised often, Sunny." Noctave kissed her.

"You need a nickname. How do you like Summer?"

Noctave shook her head, her hands on Dia's shoulders. "Too common."

"Uh...Lily? Green?"

"I like the color green, but just Green is a bit simple."

"Viridian?"

She grinned in response. "I like that name." And they shared another kiss.

Dia liked how affectionate Viridian was, never afraid to kiss her in public.

"What can I expect at the festival?"

"Well, this is a multi-day festival, so we'll have to come here at different times to get the full experience."

"Don't forget, Illuminana's having one this week, too."

Viridian nodded. "Don't worry, there's no way I'd miss it. Let's just explore this place together, alright?"

The festival was a bustling hub of activity. There were carnival rides, stalls for food and entertainment, a variety of side-show performers, and all sorts of exotic animals.

After Viridian judged a few vegetable contests, she sat with Dia on a bench.

Dia shared an intrusive thought with Viridian. "Am I involved with a harem?"

Viridian laughed. "We're all the same person, technically."

"But you're all so different...If it doesn't bother you, can I ask some questions?"

Viridian leaned against Dia, giving her a flirtatious smile. "Of course, what do you want to know?"

Dia felt flustered, but remained somewhat calm. "Will...will all of the alters be as nice as you and Moonflower?"

Viridian put her arms around Dia's waist. "Don't worry, you won't meet them for a long time."

"What do you mean?"

"Can we not talk about that now?"

"If you don't tell me, I'll only worry about it more."

Viridian put her head on Dia's shoulder. "Let me give you a basic rundown. July has Otherworld Moon, a literal alien, August has Ocean Moon, a mermaid, and September has Harvest Moon, another fairy. Things get intense from October to March."

"What do you mean by intense?"

"Dia, I'm trying to not scare you off."

Dia held Viridian's chin. "I won't leave you, I promise.

Did you just say that one of them is an alien?"
