Chapter 7

---Anders' POV---

Grumbling, I entered the living room and instantly spotted the horse shifter, who was breathing rather heavily as he tried to calm down. The painted dog let out a little yelp as he spotted me, making the raccoon shifter jump before he let out an annoyed hiss.

Their eyes quickly widened before they all respectfully lowered their gaze, shuffling slightly. "Does anyone want to explain to me why people are barging into my house?" The three men paled before the one with dark brown hair stepped up, licking his lips.

"I-I'm sorry Boss, but w-we were forced to sir! Honestly!" I narrowed my eyes, trying to find a lie in the painted dog's statement before I scoffed slightly. The raccoon was quick to wave his hands, shaking his head.

"N-not that w-we don't respect you, Boss, Sir! It's just that...well.... I had to pay off Vaughan while Martin and Fabian both had their debts to pay. Vaughan shoved us inside before we could protest, Sir."

I scoffed, inhaling deeply and smelling the fear that poured off them in thick, nauseating waves. Vaughan... he always had been a thorn in my side, trying to be top dog while sucking up to me. He had been the one who had sent several twinks in my house, a bribe to become my so-called right hand.

As if. I knew a poisoned gift when I saw it and Vaughan was lethal in more ways than one. Tact wasn't one of his strong suits; can't admit he didn't try to act docile but he was anything but.

He was cunning though, but he was a snake. Every snake was cunning and slippery, its their nature. But to have these three popping into my house, unannounced?

I was still thinking of what could be the reason of Vaughan's latest trap when I heard footsteps approaching. Martin and Fabian both seemed rather wary; especially when I flashed them a dark glare so they would avert their eyes.

"What's..." Benji stopped, eying the inmates warily while I could almost smell the curiosity oozing from them. Ignoring them, I walked up to my little spitfire and smirked coyly when his eyes glazed over.

I was almost tempted to ignore the fact that there were three other shifters in the same house, the same room in fact. Almost, but not quite.

My mate was for my eyes alone!

A low growl slipped from my throat as I grasped the back of his head in my hand, burying my nose against his throat and inhaled deeply. Benji shivered against me, sending a jolt of lust and satisfaction through my body as I could feel my cock spasm in delight.

Oh, if only I could just ignore everyone else, lay my mate down and devour him like I wanted to. Instead, I angled his head to claim his mouth in a hungry kiss, hearing him mewl so preciously against my lips before his dainty hands curled around my biceps.

Our lips parted when I heard the three shifters shuffle uncomfortably on the spot when the scent of Benji's arousal became painfully hard to ignore. The little feline was panting in my grasp, eyes focused on my lips as his own were swollen and parted, tempting me...

"If only I had the time..." I murmured against his lips, satisfied as my mate shivered once more before I sat him back down on the floor, turning my eyes on the three men. Luckily they were smart enough to look anywhere but at my mate.

"Lead the way and pray to your gods that this situation is critical enough to gain my attention." The venomous snarl was enough to make the horse shifter dash out the door in fright while the two canines were able to stand their shaking ground.

"Y-y-yes S-sir. R-right t-this w-way." Martin stuttered terribly, tripping over his own feet as his voice gained that high pitch of his painted dog. The raccoon wasn't any better and I eyed him curiously as I realized I hadn't gotten any names from him.

"Vasyl, Sir. Got here thanks to Vaughan."

My eyebrows shot up at the tired bravery of the raccoon but motioned for him to lead the way. I've heard al about Vaughan, the only King Cobra on this island. Apparently because his animal had a royal title, mister Vaughan himself wanted to be the leader of this gaggle of misfits.

Murmurs started up as I followed Fabian's hoof prints away from the mayor gang and down to the beach. I did focus on the others however when I noticed that they were circling around Benji, who had been stopped by one of Vaughan's henchmen.

"Now what's a pretty little thing like you walking around, un-owned?" He purred while leaning in with one of his grubby paws, touching what was mine. "I can protect you little one, for a price."

My mind nearly exploded in rage, both vampire and demonic instincts roaring to life as I spun around, intending to wring the perverts' filthy little neck. I was a few steps away, powers already crackling through the air when suddenly the man squeaked like a frightened little girl.

Eyes narrowing, I followed everyone's shocked gaze and smirked when I realized my little spitfire handles this situation perfectly, quite literally at that. His delicate hand had partially shifted, allowing his claws to extend as they held the man's family jewels in a crushing grip.

"Who said I needed protection?" Benjamin purred, twisting the man's nuts until he screamed, shaking on his legs as he quickly released Benjamin and grasped for his groin, whimpering and pleading for my mate to release him.

I chuckled slightly, sneaking up to the pathetic, whimpering inmate until my lips were a breath away from his ear. "Take a good look at his face and remember it. See that perfect supple skin, those plump lips and those gorgeous eyes? They're all mine."

All the inmates grew quiet, eyes wide as they saw Benjamin in a new light. He was untouchable. Pure, angelic and mine to corrupt.

---Benjamin's POV---

The sound of waves were growing stronger with the second, as long as the sounds of animals roaring and humans shouting to get back.

After I had dealt with the inmate, I had nearly combusted with lust and need as I saw the pride and raw hunger in Anders eyes before the man had swept me against him. He had devoured me in front of all the inmates in a primal, claiming kiss that showed everyone who I belonged to.

And I hadn't minded at all, in fact I found his possessive streak kinda hot. I shivered just thinking of it, of the way how his hands had held me against him, pressed against the solid planes of his muscles.

"Hmrrrrrr"

Anders chuckled as he heard me purr beside him, his eyes full of promise and hunger. Sadly we had to focus on what was happening on the beach right now, so my body felt taunt, hot and shivering as he cast me one last hot look before walking off to the beach.

A beach which was filled by several inmates looking south, to a group of wolves that were trying to get to a buck. They were forced to back off though, since a large polar bear was guarding the buck as if its life depended on it.

"Those are... Red Hill wolves. What the fuck are they doing on my island?" Anders hissed, his voice laden with suspicion as he eyed the wolves with nothing short but hatred.

I was glancing in concern at the duo defending itself and reached up to gingerly touch Anders' arm. "Those wolves were guards on the boat that dropped me here. Only the polar bear and buck treated me fairly and know I'm innocent."

Anders glared, shooting me an inquisitive look. "Then why didn't they help you?" I sighed scratching at my nose while noticing that neither the wolves nor Vane and his mate Elijah had noticed us.

"Vane, the polar bear, is mated to Elijah, the buck. The wolves threatened Elijah's life and wouldn't have hesitated to kill them both. In fact, that's what they tried to do onboard, but it seems they came all the way to shore to make sure the pair is dead.

My mate nodded, raising himself to his full height before walking towards the wolves. For a moment I was worried for his safety but as soon as the wolves sensed his approach, they reacted weird.

The first wolf to spot him instantly whined and fumbled back, alerting his pack mates of the impending danger before everyone started dashing away, tail between their hind legs. The inmates started to laugh and cheer as Anders only lifted a hand, freezing the fleeing wolves on the spot.

Vane huffed, roaring as Anders paused and calmly stood there in front of the raging polar bear. I felt my heart race in my chest at the sight of the massive bear and almost had the idea to shift and hide somewhere in the trees.

Not my mate, he simply stood there and calmly stared a polar bear down. I gulped, shuffling to the side when I realized there were a few inmates staring at me with expressions I couldn't lay my finger on.

Luckily there attention was diverted when Elijah pranced to his mate's side, pressing himself against the thick looking fur while the bear glared at Anders over Elijah's shoulder.

"Well, those two are going to be best friends." I thought sarcastically before sighing, as they both seemed to calm down. Now we just had to figure out what to do with all the wolves.
