After the day had concluded Hanna and Emily sat in their dorm doing their own thing when Hanna spoke up, 'hey Emily, what are we going to do about the Synths?". The Synths was a group of girls from their old school that had formed an a cappella group. Emily shrugged, having forgotten about the whole A cappella group in the craze of the school switch.
She stood up and headed for the door, "I don't know I'm going to go speak to my dad though so if you want you can come". Hanna didn't need to be asked twice, she would go everywhere with Emily if they didn't live in separate houses on different sides of Lima. That's why they were going to go to the same college and live in an apartment together for the four years or for longer depending on the future. Hanna was kind of a clingy friend, not too clingy so that Emily felt suffocated but clingy enough to show that she knew Hanna would never betray her.
They walked down the long twisty halls towards her dad's office, getting lost once and having to ask a passing student. When they arrived they knocked on and stepped in when they heard the faint sound of her father telling her to come in. Just as she was about to speak, she noticed the other presence in the room. "Oh sorry I didn't know someone was in here, oh it's you!"
Sebastian stood up and glared at her, and once again she rolled her eyes at him. She knew rolling her eyes at him would become a habit, yet before she could speak, he spoke first "well, well, well. Are you in trouble already?" his voice scratched along her eardrums, driving her insane. Not because it hurt her to listen to him, but because his voice was so alluring, she could tell that he would have a really great singing voice, even if he didn't embrace it. It was so smooth and could be used in lullabies to sing babies asleep.
Once again Emily rolled her eyes at Sebastian, "Wow, are you still here? I kind of tuned out of your existence the minute I saw you" she shrugged her shoulders and winked at him with a smug smirk tattooed on her face. "I'm actually here to talk to the principal if you're done wasting his time" this time an innocent smile graced her face.
Sebastian and Emily exchanged glares before Emily's father cleared his throat to attract their attention away from each other. "Sebastian leave, and let me think about it, come back after and we will talk about it". After Sebastian left, Richard Watson let out a small chuckle, "well you two get along well, don't you?" which provoked Emily to roll her eyes once again.
"Dad, what are we going to do about the Synths?" Emily was internally praying that her father would have a solution to her problem. As always he did, "Well Dalton has an all-boys choir so you could join them, they meet in the library every lunch and after lessons", even though it was a start, it wasn't the solution she needed, she wanted to keep the synths as an all-girls group, which she promptly told her father. "Well, why don't you go to the library during music lesson and then take turns with the warblers for the library after school" the idea seemed reasonable to her, it didn't seem like too much work to her.
"Okay, who is the captain" a sly smirk grew across her dad's face, and she didn't know what he was going to say, but she knew she wasn't going to like it. Richard Watson had this really evil smirk that he used when he knew something that one of his kids didn't, he never used it with anyone that was outside of the family.
"He just left"

The next day after school they headed to the library for Synths practice as Emily's father had told her that they would have alternating days to use the practice room. Yet when Emily entered the room the warblers stood there, practising. Which shocked her, as her father said he would tell Sebastian about the whole situation, but the more Emily thought about it the more she believed her father didn't tell him so that this exact situation would go down. Her dad was malicious like that.
Sebastian was just as surprised to see her and exclaimed his shock with the very lovely Sebastian Smythe charm "You're not supposed to be here" his tone of voice sounded disgusted at the sight of her. She got that they didn't like each other, but he didn't have to speak to her as if she was dirt on his brand new shoes, but something gave Emily the feeling that he would be more respectable to the dirt.
She hid her hurt at his tone of voice with her usual confidence "actually we are, don't believe me ask the principal" she wanted to watch the smug smile fall from his perfect face. She got a preview of what it looked like when his smug smile fell slightly at her confidence, but he quickly recovered "fine, let's go then"
Sebastian and Emily walked side by side to the principal's office, and when they entered Emily's father did not look surprised to see them there which only confirmed her earlier suspicions of him doing this on purpose. '"what can do for you two?" he glanced at Emily for a second and the small smile that graced the left side of his mouth sealed the deal for her. He had done this on purpose.
Sebastian's voice interrupted Emily from her mini-hate party she had internally thrown for her father and his existence "who gets the library, she thinks she does". The spite in every word he said about Emily made her believe that he was like this with everybody, after all, how could someone have so much hate for someone they have only just met?
Apparently, Emily wasn't the only one who heard the spite, Richard heard it too and replied with just as much spite aimed towards Sebastian. "Well She does, you have it tomorrow, you are to take alternate days and if you have any more complaints about this arrangement, I will join the two groups together and make Emily captain" She was pretty sure it wasn't technically allowed for him to be like this towards another student, but her father had always defended her, after all, she was her father's little princess.
When they left the office, the smirk only became larger when she saw that he no longer possessed the smug smirk that she had become certain was stained to his face. It was one of those things that brought her great satisfaction. It was almost like all those 'oddly satisfying' videos online compacted all into a single thing. That's how much satisfaction it brought her.
Sebastian was obviously still sour about the whole situation and demanded a sing-off, which seemed impractical, after all, who cared enough to judge. At the end of the day, the results would be very biased depending on which school voted, it was clear the Dalton boys would vote for The Warblers and the Preston Girls would vote for the Synths. However, she decided she would humour him. "Okay, the winner gets the library and loser finds somewhere new. Also, the loser cannot demand another sing-off as redemption. The results are final." With this, they shook hands and. Emily would be lying if she said she didn't feel sparks when their hands touched, but she would never tell anyone this small detail.

I know this doesn't seem like a lot of words, but considering the other draft was 614 (and even shorter in the first ever draft) it is a lot. the word count has doubled and I think, to be honest, the quality has. I know it's not perfect, but we can all agree it is WAY better than the other drafts and I would be severely confused if you preferred the others.
Unless you really care how ADHD I am with important topics that I need to talk about, don't read the authors note from here on
Also, I stayed up really late editing this, I had to wait until my sister went upstairs so that I could type because it was annoying her, I don't hear it because I am listening to music but, I know how it could be considered annoying. So it is currently 1 am (01:07), which is something considering I am trying to sort out my sleeping pattern and staying up late typing isn't the best for that. I can't go upstairs and edit because I sit in the corner of the room on the rocking chair, its where I most of my work done and it means that I'm not sat on my bed all comfortable (Which means I won't be lying down and falling asleep during the day. I also can't start earlier in the day- well I can, but I don't do as much because I have work to do (lol not actual work, I have cleaning up and all that to do) or my sister gets mad and threatens to send me to live with my mum again. I mean my mum is cool and all but it means I would have to share a room again and deal with my other brother and sister, which would not be the best for avoiding stress on my heart.
Also, the lyric chapter that follows this, I am contemplating on just deleting it and not trying to rewrite an entire chapter. I don't have any inspiration for this book anymore, I wrote it over a year ago and I'm not as into Grant Gustin (OH NO) I'm still into the flash and hoping to finally finish my Flash Fic (a sequel to one of my books). I just returned to this book to make a start on all the books I have to edit, and surprisingly its easier to edit actually detailed books rather than social media books. To be honest, I'm terrified to edit my book Social Media (A Grant Gustin book btw, and also you should read it, its nearly got 200k read so I must have done something right) because throughout the book I switched up Shelly/Stella's name and tbh I have no idea which one I named her. My gut says it's Stella but the majority of the book says its Shelly. Anyway back to the ORIGINAL topic, I think I should just delete the chapters that are purely lyrics like Chapter 3 and the Valentines day chapters (which were not published on Valentine's day btw) because I lack inspiration, time and effort to rewrite. Well i have the time, because I literally have nothing to do until August 23rd, and 24th and then I'm free until September 3rd, and 4th, but I'm distracted easy, like this afternoon when I was editing it I had an impromptu dance party with my dog whilst listening to 5SOS (Please, any hardcore K-POP stans/ 5SOS haters please don't judge the book, its not about them) I would post the video I took but Wattpad only lets you upload youtube videos and not original videos (like whats up with that Wattpad??)
As I stated earlier on in this authors note, it was 1 am, or more specifically 01:07 am, it is now 01:31 am. I have been ranting for nearly half an hour and I am slowly approaching 2000 words. (i am going to stop soon)

Going back to my original topic (once again) what do you guys think I should do? actually, does anyone read this anymore? for real, like I don't get any notifications for this book anymore, I would really appreciate if anyone/ SOMEONE commented, even if it's just to correct my grammar. I crave confirmation that this book is succeeding. I literally just sighed because I got off topic again. Do you guys think I should rewrite chapters that were written lyrically? I mean I feel like I can replace the valentines chapters with just pure relationship fluff but I'm not sure what to do with the next chapter, you know the sing off? should I do character progression, talk about Emily more as a character, write about some brotherly love and some proper interactions between Emily and Taylor? (If you see the names Grant or Brad throughout the book it just means that I've failed at editing as those are her brother's past names. like Damn Grant/ Brad/ Taylor why you gotta be selfish with the names)
I'm going to stop ranting now cause it is 01:54 am, I've actually been writing this for so long, my music (which started at falling in reverse, has passed through Black Veil Brides, Sleeping with the sirens, Palaye Royale and 5sos) has gone to Disney. Im on Tangled now.
