Chapter 7
Not long after you left Izuku to ponder the new information he had been given, you mentally scolded yourself. "God dammit!" You hissed, "I should've kissed him! My hold is weakening on the damned brat!"
You growled to yourself as you entered your hideout, making a beeline for your room. Slamming the door behind you, you chucked your jacket at a wall and collapsed against the door. You were seething with rage, rage you earned via your own stupidity. "What was I thinking?! He was right there! And WILLING! I'm such a fucking moron!"
Nothing negated your statement. Only quiet greeted you in response, leaving very aware of what surrounded you. Sighing, you brushed your fingers througj your hair and twisted it nervously in your fingers. "There's something wrong with me. There must be. In between my weakened quirk and my fucked up morals I've been behaving so differently."
You scratched through your memories and pulled more examples, ranging from your mercy on the kid, to your episode, and then to Inko. You could hear Kurogiri's voice whispering the word 'guilt' in your ear. Maybe it was important...
"Guilt..." You hummed. "Guilt... guilty... I feel guilty? No, my conscious died with my will to live." Your eyes swung over your room and instantly locked on a familiar flyer. Your heart panged sourly and you clutched your chest. "Guilt?"
Crawling over on all fours and snatching up the missing poster. Inko smiled at your from your memory and it almost felt as though your heart was being crushed under your own weight. "This has got to be what Kurogiri was talking about. Jesus fuck this is annoying."
Standing slowly, you brought the flyer to your easel and sat it down gently. Sitting on the stool you kept close, you stared intently at the flyer. "This whole guilt thing has to be connected. I don't ever feel bad about what I do, but seeing Izuku's mom upset about the boy I kidnapped made my stomach churn. Should I be using this?"
No one responded to your question. The air hung silently as you contemplated this emotion that made you almost sick. Ever since you'd taken Izuku, so many things had been different. You'd had a random episode because of a family in a diner, your insides churned at the thought of deceiving Inko, hell, you even chose not to avoid kissing him because something seemed pure about the way he looked at you. For years you'd been a hardened criminal, aiding your father at his side without questions for as long as you could recall. You were born into it. Izuku triggered something different in you, or maybe he awoke something that was always there. In a few days, you were supposed to finish your ultimate mission and kill All Might, bring about a new age of justice. Maybe this was a sign.
You pondered it for a while, hours even given the shifting and slamming of doors outside your room. Your eyes widened suddenly, a plot thickening within your mind as you jumped to your feet. "Oh my god... this is perfect! It's the key!" You glanced at your alarm clock, knowing your father wouldn't likely rise from his cave for another few hours, but this was more important. You rushed from your room and headed directly to his office, filled with a new vigor fueled by nauseous guilt blooming in your gut. Never before had you been so happy to feel sick to your stomach. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
"Father it's perfect! Countless times we've failed to eliminate All Might, but it's because we were relying on pure brute force! Izuku needs an opening, and this way is perfect. It will take some adjustments, but I promise it will work!" You finished excitedly, eyes glimmering with excitement as you stared at your father.
He sat in silence, contemplating your proposal with thick skepticism. "The plan we have now has been in place for many months. Could you really pull this off in a mere few days?" He asked. "I will no longer accept failure in regards to this goal. All Might will fall this time."
"I promise father! I don't plan to disappoint you anymore! Please let me do this!" You begged.
He was silent, eyes falling as he retreated into his thoughts. It was quiet until he finally nodded. "Prepare the squads then. I will allow you to go forth with your plan."
"Thank you father!" You cried, smiling widely and genuinely.
You turned immediately and started to leave before your father's words froze you. "I'm proud of you... (Y/N). I trust in your judgement."
You didn't know what to say, but you felt your throat closing tightly as water filled your eyes. "Thank you." You said more quietly, leaving quickly before he could see liquid weakness trickle down your cheeks.
You closed the door behind your and clutched your arms against you to stop the quivering. Your heart waz pounding in your chest as you rushed to wake Izuku and call a new breifing.
After tapping gently on Izuku's door, you threw the door open without waiting for a response. His eyes flew open immediately, still half asleep as they sluggishly focused on you. "(Y/N)?" He muttered sheepishly, rubbing the sleep for his eyes. He yawned in a cutely innocent manner and you could feel your cheeks redden. You took the covers and ripped them away from him with a giddy laugh. "Get up! New breifing today and you are gonna play an even bigger part in my new scheme!" You boasted.
Izuku cried out as the covers smacked against the wall and fluttered to the floor. He was left only in a pair of sweats and his own skin, hair messy and disheveled. You didn't hide it as you examined his impressive chest. "Talk about zero to hero." You muttered. "Whatever, just get dressed! I'm debreifing in ten minutes no exceptions."
"Whatever..." he grumbled, dragging himself from his bed and collrcting clothes from a few boxes tucked beneath the bed's frame.
You left him to collect the rest of your chosen villains and met in the main hall of Kurogiri's bar. Soon after Izuku arrived, you retold your plot in sharp detail, before handing out assignments as needed. "Izuku! You and I need to train some morr before we set this into motion. Meet me at the waterfront in ten minutes. The rest of you get to work! This will be the day the heroes accept their downfalls and bow to us!"
A roar of approval sang over the crowd as you swung through, trotting over the counter and avoiding the outward crowd.
After rushing to your room and changing into more training-worthy clothing, aka a tank top and yoga pants, you jogged to the famous beach of the city, once riddled by garbage but 'mysteriously' cleared before UA tryouts. You stretched generously as you watched strangers run past you on their daily routine. You smiled at them, and vice versa, just like a normal person. Nothing like a little bit of training to pump yourself up for turning yourself into the heroes.

You panted heavily, still posed strongly all the while. Izuku seemed sporatic as he examined your stance in hope for a weakness. Charging you again, you narrowly avoided before piveting on your toes. Dipping down low, you scooped sand into your palm and chucked it at his face. As his hands flew up to defend his face, you planted your heel into his shoulder and threw all your weight against it. Spinning as he fell, you landed square on his back, pinning his arms with your knees.
He was panting as well, but he also shated your smile. "Am I better now?" He asked in an almost sarcastic tone.
"It doesn't matter if you are or not." You snickered, rolling off of him and standing. Your legs ached but after a shower and an injection you'd be humming with energy once again. "All you have to do is deliver a blow to All Might's weakest point, and he'll shatter like fine china."
Izuku laughed, the purple glint of your quirk winking from his eyes. You smiled, genuinely, and looked out at the waves that lapped against the sand. "I'm going to start a fire, feel free to go home without me." You offered, walking away from Izuku to collect stray wood dried by the sunny day.
"Why?" He cooed, walking by your side as you tucked a log under your arm.
"I still have time before my next injection, and I don't want to spend more time in my room than I have to." You chirped, adding more wood to your collection.
"Injection?" He asked, raising a brow. "What do you mean by that? Are you a drug addict or something?"
His tone seemed teasing, but you couldn't help but freeze up at your mistake. Scrambling to recover, you laughed awkwardly. "It's a side effect of my quirk. I have to use injections to keep me from sleeping."
Izuku raised a brow, seeming perplexed. Giggling, you dumped your wood into a pile and started to stack it for the fire. "What do you know about my quirk Junior Might?"
"I know it's called Corruption, and it's contact based. You can corrupt a person's mind by touching your lips to their skin and make them your mind puppets. But where does sleep play a part?" He asked, clearly prying for any small facts.
You raked your mind for excuses, leaving him in silence as you flicked a match beneath the timber and watched it ignite. The flame crawled over the wood and gnawed at it ravenously. "Because of my quirk," you began, crafting an excuse as you went, "my side effects lie mentally. Every time I command a person's mind, their consious mind is locked away in mine. I can hear their thoughts, but more intensely I feel their fears. It keeps me from sleeping so father commisioned a scientist to create me a serum to restore my energy without forcing sleep."
It was one of your best bluff, even fooling Izuku as he nodded. "I see." He hummed. "And if I were to hide your injections?"
"Horrible, horrible crippling fear would crash down on me." You chirped, smiling as though the thought delighted you. In a way you were entertained. Definitely one of your best performances if it was fooling Izuku. Or that's what you thought at least.
"You're lying to me, aren't you?" He predicted, smiling at you as you folded your legs in front of you.
You didn't feel the need to panic though. He had read your mind but it seemed almost comforting. "Why would I lie to you? I don't want to scare you away from your role here on the right side of the war."
"I remember yesterday night well. You told me you could be lying at any time and I wouldn't know. Come to think of it, you were sitting by a fire then as well. If we were in a parking lot it would be the spitting image of my memory."
You lowered you gaze to the fire and smiled. "You're right, I could be lying. But what would you do about it?"
Izuku fell quiet, looking down at you in confusion as you watched the dancing flames. It seemed to catch him off guard. "Would you kill me? Maybe crush my skull with that quirk of yours. Or strangle me while dangling me from the docks. Father told me your quirk was just as powerful as All Might's, so you easily could. Hell, you could probably kill me right this instance if you-"
"I wouldn't!" He yelled, voice breaking as he did. You looked up in alarm, seeing his vibrant green eye almost consume the purple you'd placed. "I would never kill you! You may be bad but you're not like the other villains! You've been helping me so much! I care about you!"
You sucked in a short breath, scared by his sudden burst. The Deku of U.A. was stronger than you recalled, and he wasn't nearly as scared of the monsters as you thought. Talking about horrible ways to die had become common ground to you, you'd never thought it would upset anyone. Especially Izuku.
The sound of crackling embers took the air, replacing Izuku's voice with ease. You didn't have any witty comebacks to quip with, your mind for once blank and your sarcasm silenced. His eyes were locked on your small frame folded before the fire, intense and gentle in unison. You never noticed how beautiful his eyes were, or his plethora of freckles thrown over his cheeks. He blinked a few times, brow furrowing as slowly your influence returned. His cold, calculative stare began to return and you felt panic well up in you. The same painful knot twisted in your gut and you bent yourself over to console the ache. "(Y/N)? Are you alright?" Izuku asked, kneeling down on his knee to examine your pained expression.
"I'm sorry." You whispered.
His green eyes widened as you snapped your face to his. The reflection of Deku seemed trapped in his now glassy gaze, at the same time reflecting the liquid that shimmered in your eyes. The pain built more with every second, intensifying as you glimpsed Izuku's true self from beyond your power. Cupping his cheeks in your hands, you pulled his face to your own and pressed your lips to his, never closing your eyes. His eyes sparkled with renewed violet, closing slowly as your puppet returned to his stage. His lips felt stiff and robotic, but as your quirk spread it seemed warmer and more vicious. Villain Izuku was back.
It felt wrong. You felt guilty for hiding away the trace of Izuku left beyond your grasp. You pulled away with no expression and watched as Izuku slowly opened his eyes again. His grin didn't feel warm anymore, or even entertaining like it had when you first assimilated him to your arsenal. It looked wrong to see him so cruel.
"If you wanted to cash your favor you could have just asked." Izuku teased with a smirk.
You didn't reply, sarcastically or otherwise, only standing and leaving him behind you in silence.
It hurt you to use him. You were broken by your own weakness, but you were determined to not let it distract from the mission. Once All Might died, you'd set him free and all your feelings would flee with him. The mission mattered most.
