"Oh. It's you again."

You approached him carefully just in case he wanted to try and attack you. Mettaton backs up and says:

"Well, if it isn't the human! We should start the show right away!"

Your walkie-talkie shakes and you can hear Alphys.

"Y/n, there should be a switch behind his back. I think it can shut him down."

"You sure?"

"I think so......."

"Well, it's worth a shot."

I have to get him to turn around somehow. I thought for a while before I got an idea.

"Hey Mettaton. Is that a mirror behind you?"

"Where? I must look good for our upcoming show."

He turns his back towards you and you see the switch on his back. You quickly reached over and switched it to the right. He immediately freezes and spoke:

"Did you.........just flip.........my switch?"

He started going berserk before smoke surrounded the both of you with a loud crash. You use your arms to protect your face. When the smoke had died down, you lower your arms and look around for Mettaton. In his place was what looked like a person. Mettaton had another form?

*walkie-talkie shakes* "Whoops, wrong switch."

"What?!"

Mettaton looked more human-like and had four arms and two eyes on one side. His hair covered the other part of his face. He wore two pairs of gloves on each hand. One pair was red and the other pair was orange. To be honest, he was dressed more feminine.

"If you flip my switch, that can only mean one thing. You're desperate for the new premiere of my new body. Well, it can't be helped. I was aching to show this to everyone after all. IT'S SHOW TIME!"

Mettaton blasted electric type attacks towards you. You tried dodging all of them, but one of them grazed across your arm and managed to burn your arm. You wince and hold your arm where it was injured. It burns, but you're not gonna die. You used your soul to shoot and aim at Mettaton's attack as he kept posing dramatically. This was going to be a painfully long time. Monsters had already started crowding around the stage yelling:

"Crush the human!"

"Kill her Mettaton!"

Do they really want me to die that badly?

                                                                                      *Time skip*

After shooting one more shot towards Mettaton, he collapses and his broken robotic heart starts to leak what looked almost like blood. You wanted to help him. You didn't want to fight him. He tried to crawl away with what little strength he had left and smiles.

"This is the most highest ratings I've gotten! I never did catch your name darling."

"It's Y/n."

"Well, before I leave, I will take one last caller."

*Phone rings and picks up*

"Hello? You're on air! Would you like to say anything?"

"I hate your show."

"W-what......?"

"It's so stupid. You didn't even kill her. Your pathetic. This show is so boring. It makes me sick."

*Phone clicks off*

"I-I'll take another c-caller!"

I hear so many people saying a lot of negative things towards Mettaton. I look towards Mettaton and see disbelief across her face. She slowly brings her hand down to the broken heart. The phone calls end and the crowd went silent.

"I guess I'm better off dead."

You try to comfort Mettaton, but he self-destruct himself before you could get a chance to help him. The sound of the blow was blinding and the force of it sent you tumbling backwards on the ground. The stage went dark and the monsters had disappeared. One of the metal parts scratched the side of your cheek and you feel blood dripping from the side of your face. You then hear footsteps coming from down the hallway.

"Y/n!"

Alphys? Alphys comes rushing over and kneels next to me.

"Are you ok? That cut must've been from Mettaton."

"Will you be able to fix Mettaton again? I felt really bad for him. I wish I could help him."

"It's fine. This isn't the first time he's been through this. I'll fix him when I get him back in the lab and we have to treat your cut."

"Oh....."

You feel the cut across your cheek. It stings. You quickly take your hands away from your cut and look to see a little bit of blood on your hands. Alphys takes a few metal parts on a small cart and ten leads you down back to the lab. When you reach the lab, she takes the metal parts in a spare room and then comes back out with an aid kit. She helps you clean the cut, put ointment on, and place a band-aid on top.

"Thanks for helping me get Mettaton back."

"No problem, but will he be ok?"

"He'll be fine. The parts will be easy to put back together."

                                                                   *Time skip*

After Alphys was done fixing Mettaton she placed an artificial soul in his new body so that he can function his body. You see him get up slowly and turn to see you.

"Y/n? You're still here?"

"Well..... yeah. I know we got off on the wrong foot, but how about starting all over?"

"Why would you want to do that? Don't you want to finish me off?"

"I don't want to finish you off. I just want you to be my friend. I never wanted to hurt you or anybody else in the first place."

"You? Want to be my friend?"

You nod your head and see slight hesitation. He smiles and says:

"I've never really had friends before. I don't see why not."

You smile widely before running over and hugging him. You've made another friend!

After talking with him and getting to know him a little better it was time for you to head back. You say goodbye to Alphys and Mettaton before heading back to Snowdin. Mettaton had told you about the barrier and the reason for the collection of souls. You were their last hope. You were a little scared. Would you have to sacrifice yourself in order to help them?
