Jenna's P.O.V
*Two Days Later*
It's Princess Rivatha's birthday tomorrow. Everyone is preparing for it tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a pain in the butt. It's turning dark right now so I'm just walking to my room. Prince Seto seems more run down then usual. I hope he's not pushing himself again. I go outside for some reason and into the courtyard. I walk to the magic grounds. I need to changes his bandages I guess. Haven't changed them since yesterday. I go into the building in the back. I stop in the doorway seeing someone at the table reading something. It's not the Prince for sure then who is it?

Prince Seto's P.O.V
I look out on the Kingdom seeing the city lights on. Psyra doesn't have many lights, but to me it still looks breathtaking. Amarisa climbs into my lap and curls up into a ball. I pet her as she falls asleep. I'm beginning to think we won't find any other wizard at all.

What I find weird is that I have magic born into a mortal family. I bite my bottom lip back. I just want to meet another wizard, just so I know I'm not all alone in this world.

'You could get, I don't know...a mortal girlfriend.' Amarisa thought.

'No. No way. Mortals, even here in Psyra, don't trust me cause they think I hurt someone every minute of every day.' I thought. I see the fireflies are out. I smile a little.

'Don't be sad.' Amarisa thought. She sits up in my lap.

"I'm not." I said. She pushes her head into my hand as I scratch behind her ears. She loves being scratched behind her ears.

'I can sense it when your sad, mad, happy, and more. And your upset.' She thought. I chew on my bottom lip a little. Amarisa ears fold back and I can tell she is concerned. She is the only one that I can really trust. Jenna and River I trust as well, but there are things I would never tell them. Like when my father decided to drain almost all my magic two days ago because I left the Kingdom. That felt horrible. That always destroys my wrists. Always. Amarisa pushes her nose against my wrist. 'Bandages?'

"It's nothing to worry about Amarisa." I said. She looks at me in the eye.

'River is turning sixteen tomorrow. Can I come to the party please?' Amarisa thought. I smile a little.

"As long as you stay away from the food. If your hungry during it, I'll get you something." I said.

'Fine. It's a deal.' She thought. I see windows open and I look at them. Princess Mystic. She walks onto her balcony. I know I have a balcony....but I like being in higher places. Room to think you know. Amarisa comes out of my lap and looks where I'm looking. 'Weird.'

"What?" I ask.

'That's the same spiked up emotion you get whenever you're around Miss Jenna.' Amarisa thought. I look at Amarisa. That's...That's a lie.

"No." I said.

'Yes it is. Human emotions are so weird.' Amarisa thought. I jump off the roof and on my balcony. Amarisa jumps down to. We go inside. Amarisa runs and jumps on my bed. I take off my jacket and shoes. I blow out the candles in my room. I climb into bed.

'I don't want to wake up in the middle of the night because you're laying on my face again Amarisa.' I thought.

'Sorry. I'll try not to.' She thought. I lay on my side and close my eyes.

Screams echoed through my ears as I cut down a mortal with a cutting spell. I look across the battlefield seeing our side seeming victorious, what could mortals think they had against an army of wizards? I fly into the air as an arrow flies underneath me. I look down at the archer. I smirk and point two fingers at them. They gasp and take steps back.

"Smrt." I chanted.

I open my eyes seeing a stone wall. I take deep breathes and feel sweat on me. Amarisa is snuggled into my chest in a tight ball of course. I bite my bottom lip back. Another nightmare with a battle in it. What is going on?

"Enlighten." I said. The torches in my room catch fire, lighting up the room. I sit up slowly trying not to wake up Amarisa. I see a note on chair next to my bed. I pick it up. It's morning. I read it.

I need to change your bandages Prince. Come to the infirmary when you wake up.

I smile a little. I put on my shoes. I look in the mirror. Bedhead. Whatever. I go in the hall. Leaving my door slightly open so Amarisa can get out when she wakes up. The guards know to shut the door. I walk down the hall when an arm grabs my elbow. I jerk back a little.

"Honey, bedhead." Mother said. She fixes my hair. She licks her fingers. I back up instantly.

"No. Mother that's gross." I said. She looks at me for a second. Good thing my long sleeve black t shirt is long enough to cover half my hands, otherwise she would she my wrapped wrists.

"Can you perform some of your magic at the party today?" She asks. I don't know about that.

"Maybe." I said. I walk away from her and to the infirmary. I open the door and see Jenna already in here. She looks at me.

"Sit down." She said. I sit in a chair. She pushes up my sleeves. She puts a chair in front of me. She takes off the bandages and looks at them. "It got worst. Can you put your wrists in cold water for a while?"

"Yeah." I said. She gets up and grabs a bowel. I move over to a table. Moments later she sets a bowel of ice water in front of me. I just put my hands in and is does cover my wrists.

"A few minutes like that. Did you have breakfast yet?" She asks.

"I'll survive without food Jenna." I said. She goes and helps other people.

'Seto where are you?' Amarisa thought.

'Infirmary.' I thought.

'The King looks mad and wants you right now by the way.' She thought. Amarisa comes in and runs over to me.

'Why?'

'He doesn't like that we keep leaving the Kingdom without guards. Especially when we don't say when we leave.' She thought.

'He'll get over himself.'

Amarisa looks at my wrists.

'So it was nothing? Are you sure?' She thought. I don't response. That dream felt so real. Amarisa curls up on the table and falls asleep. I must have dozed off because Jenna sets a bag next to the bowel. She takes my hands and dries them. She puts some cream on my burns and rewraps them.

"Can you please reframe from using fire magic till your burns are gone?" Jenna asks. I nod. Amarisa jumps into Jenna's lap suddenly.

'Your emotions spiked again.' She thought.  Jenna pets Amarisa.

"You haven't MO in a very long time. Your bad habit is going away." Jenna said.

"Yeah well....Amarisa finally decided to stop them soo...." I said. A guard comes in.

"Prince Seto, your father wants to speak with you in the throne room." They said. Amarisa hisses.

'I'm coming with you.' She thought. I get up and leave with Amarisa trailing behind me.

Amarisa's P.O.V
We enter the throne room. I see the King on his big chair. We both stop. I walk a few steps in front of Seto. I don't trust this.

"I see you have that familiar with you." He said. Tara walks pass us.

'I don't like this Seto.' I thought to him.

"She has a name and it's Amarisa." Seto said. The King gets up from his chair. The King walks towards up. I back into Seto's legs and hiss at him. I feel like the King is threatening to my wizard now and I'm not okay with it. The King stops and looks at me. "I have a new squire now. Meet Matthew." I look pass the King and at some guy.

'I don't approve of this Seto.' I thought.

'Me either.' Seto thought. Matthew comes to us.

"Nice to finally meet you my Prince." Matthew said. I hiss at Matthew as well. Matthew looks down at me. "So this is your familiar. Amarisa. I heard some much about her through the citizens." Well isn't that lovely, I don't care. I'm getting bad vibes from Matthew.

Prince Seto's P.O.V
Matthew is a tall guy with dark red hair, blue eyes, and dressed in dark clothes. But I don't like this guy already. Amarisa doesn't either.

"Cool. It that it?" I ask. A new squire? What happened to Robin? I could actually stand Robin cause he was such an ass kisser. He basically did anything I wanted.

"One more thing. Any new spells I should know about?" He asks.

'Don't tell him about your transplace spell.' Amarisa thought.

"Nope." I said.

"Okay. You can go." He said. I leave with Amarisa trailing me. I see River talking to Jace.

"Hey River. Can I borrow you for a bit?" I ask.

"Sure for what?" She asks.

"Trying to perfect something and I need someone to help me. You won't be hit anything." I said.

"Okay." She said. Us four go to the building in the magic grounds. Amarisa sits down in the middle of the room. "What is it?"

'Are we trying that again?' Amarisa asks.

"Trying to do an ability with Amarisa making it so I can look through her eyes and hear what she hears." I said. River nods.

"Okay. What you want me to do?" She asks.

"I need you to go over to Amarisa. Jace you can too if you want." I said. They go over to Amarisa. I sit in my chair at the table. I put my jacket on the floor.

"Wait no looking." River said.

"I won't be looking." I said. I close my eyes and set my arm on the table. "Do something random or hold up a number with your fingers."

"Jace go cover his eyes." River said. I feel a hand on my eyes.

"No trust." I said. I focus on Amarisa.

Princess Rivatha's P.O.V
I hold up three fingers in front of Amarisa. Seto stays silent. I sit on the floor up my fingers still up. I see Lucia and Jacob come in again.

"What-"

"Shh." I said.

"Three." Seto said.

"Yep. It works. Can you see me?" I ask.

"Yeah." He said.

Prince Seto's P.O.V
"Then what am I doing now?" River asks. I smile a little seeing her dancing.

"Your dancing like an idiot." I said.

"Correct." Jace said. Lucia and Jacob come into view.

"Oh when did Lucia and Jacob come?" I ask.

"Wait what?" Jacob asks.

"He's seeing through Amarisa's eyes." River said.

"One of you say something in a whisper to Amarisa. I want to see if that works." I said. Hands go on my ears and off my face. I keep my eyes close.

"You can be a stalker now." Lucia whispered.

"Seriously Lucia? really? That's all you could think of. I can be a stalker now." I said.

"Dude that's cool." Jacob said. I slip out of Amarisa's mind and open my eyes. Jace takes his hands off me.

'You finally got it to work!' Amarisa thought. I look at Amarisa. 'Finally after so many fails.'

'Ahhh shut up.' I thought.

"Princess Rivatha. It's time to get you ready." Helen said coming in.

"Okay." River said. She stands up. Helen looks at me.

"You could use that too. You look like you just got out of bed." She said.

"That's because I basically just did." I said. Helen, River, and Jace leave. Juliet comes in again. Amarisa gets up and walks over to me. "Is Shay avoiding me?"

"That or he'll choke you to death." Juliet said. I put my feet up on the table.

"Amarisa would probably damage Shay." I said.

'You bet I would. No one hurts my wizard as long as I'm still breathing.' Amarisa thought. Amarisa jumps into my lap and lays down. I pet her.

"What's that language?" Juliet asks looking at one of my open books.

"The wizard language. It's cool looking." Lucia said. Lucia walks next to Juliet. "Wizards back then had their own language so when they would send messages to other wizards of important news, no mortal but wizards could read it." Juliet flips a page.

"Did you have to learn it Seto?" Juliet asks.

"No. My brain was automatically hardwired to only know the wizard tongue." I said.

"That's why we give Prince Seto our wizard books, so he can decode them. Have you finished that yet?" Lucia asks. Amarisa gets up and walks on the table.

"Um...no. I'm still working on it. There is alot of text. But did you write down the letters written on your castle door?" I ask. Lucia nods. Jacob pulls out a piece of paper and gives it to me. I look at it.

Amarisa's P.O.V
*ten minutes later*
I lick my paw as my tail swings from side to side looking out from a window down a stairwell. I heard talking. I stand up and jump down onto the steps. I walk up the steps and almost run into legs. I look up seeing Prince Shay and Juliet and guards.

"Amarisa." Juliet said.

"What?" Shay asks.

"That's Prince Seto's familiar." Juliet said. The guards eye me. I back away a little.

"Well it's the biggest cat I've ever seen." Prince Shay said. I feel a sudden pain hit my heart. What? I feel a certain emotion manifest from my wizard. Juliet reach her hand out to pet me. No way. I hiss at her and fold my ears back.

"Stupid cat." Juliet said. Stupid human. I run down the steps and go outside. I feel the ground shaking under my paws and I knows that people walking through the gate. Where's my wizard? I run down the hallway avoiding last minute servants preparations to the castle. I run outside and see Seto leaning against the wall under the archway.

'What was the pain?' I thought to him.

'My heart shattering into pieces. What else could it be?' He thought. I run over to him and jump onto a ledge on the wall near him. I lay on it with my back leg hanging off it and my tail swinging every once in a while.

'What do you mean?' I thought.

'I just finished decoding a book from Lucia.' He thought.

'What did it say?' I thought. He looks at me.

'It talks about a city where wizards are from but also how a wizard is born. And it's not from a mortal woman.' He thought.

'So does this mean I can't call you a royal pain in my furry ass?' I thought. I see him smile slightly.

'Amarisa this means I'm not from Psyra. My family isn't even my family.' He thought. I suddenly hear human girl's voices. I look at them and they are staring at Seto. Seto is just staring blankly at the ground. All I can feel is sadness and rage from him. He crosses his arms. 'If I could skip this party, I totally would. But it's my sister's birthday.' I jump down and rub myself against his leg. 'I always suspected it but I thought it was just a rare thing that happened, a wizard born from mortals. But it's not.'

'I'll stick with you the entire time if you want.' I thought to him. Seto puts his hands in his coat pockets.

'I'm just really tired right now. But if you want you can.' He thought. I decided then and there to stick with him. I follow him to the castle door. The door opens and we slip in. I hear the party happening outside and inside. The door stays open. The entire Kingdom is celebrating this I think. I see Prince Shay just ahead. I catch up next to Seto.

"Seto." Princess Mystic said. We both stop. I don't feel that spike of emotion from Seto, this news must have really hurt him that even she can't cheer him up. I stare at Shay. I don't trust him. "Hey Amarisa."  She pets my head but I don't even acknowledge her cause I'm watching this Dusaroian Prince and his little friend too.

'What's wrong Amarisa?' Seto thought.

'Nothing.' I thought. I put my tail protectively around Seto's ankle looking at Shay.

"Your familiar is weird." Shay said.

"Not my fault she doesn't like you." Seto said. That's an understatement. I know what Dusaroians did to wizards in the past and my wizard will not end up like them. I hate him. I bare my teeth a little at Shay comes close to us.

"Don't take it personally Shay." Mystic said. I approve of Mystic. She's make my wizard happy, I'm okay with that and she is no threat either. "Familiars tend to be protective of their masters. So in the face of a threat...this threat being you...they do want Amarisa is doing currently." I wonder how much Seto told her about magic? Mostly me.

'Seto I'm starving.' I thought. Seto signed slightly.

"I got a cat to feed. See ya guys." He said. He walks away and I run after him. I see him bypass girls that tried to talk to him. I wonder why they seem to be attracted to him?

'Why are human girls swooned whenever you pass by them?' I thought.

'Beats me. And they don't faint at the sight of me Amarisa.' He thought. I remember one girl did. It was hilarious! We go into the dining hall and see no one in here basically. The fest must not have started yet. But there is food on the long table. I jump on a chair and onto the table. A guy in the white hat comes out holding a platter full of fish. My eyes go wide as saucers. I dash after the human. Seto grabs my tail.

"Off the table Amarisa." He said. I jump down and run over to the human with the fish. They look at me.

"Oi Amarisa. No fishes for you unless the Prince says you can have one." He said.

'Please Seto? They smell delicious!' I thought.

"She can have one." Seto said. The human sets the platter on the table. He does some moving around and give Seto a plate with a tail hanging off the side. Other people start coming in the dining room. Seto grabs a chair and sits in it. He puts the plate on the floor. I immediately pounce on it and dig in.

Prince Seto's P.O.V
I don't really get any food because I lost my appetite earlier. Amarisa's claws brush my thigh. I'm sitting next to some Lord who won't shut up about his land to me. I stopped listening halfway through. My mind is just somewhere else. What would have happened if I was born not into a mortal family? Would I have meant other wizards like me? Surely they should have heard the fact there is a wizard prince that shouldn't belong here? I look up slightly meeting eyes with River. Concerned eyes. I look down at Amarisa. I grab another fish and put it on her plate. She goes and starts eating it. My mind is also distracted by my nightmare last night. Why am I getting these? I've been in battles before, a war or two. But not one like that.

"So Prince Seto have you picked a queen yet?" A lord asks me. At the table is the royals and some Lords from around and generals. What's the point of picking a queen when I have no belonging in this castle to begin with? My silence must have been long cause my sister answered for me.

"My brother is more focused on his magic skills then girls, Lord Garret." River said. I look at her from across the table. Would River even count as my sister? Step-sister? What would she be to me? I'm never telling her what I found out cause I don't want to upset her. Lord Garret? I barely know anyone here.

"Not true." I said.

"True. You bypass girls like they are nothing to you but human beings." River said.

"Maybe our Prince is more into wizard girls." The Lord next to me said.

Princess Rivatha's P.O.V
I see Seto look at his empty plate once Lord Peter said that. I know that might be a strong possibility but the chances of finding another wizard are so slim.

"Possibly." Lord Garret said. I keep my eyes on my brother. Jace is sitting next to talking Princess Mystic. I watch Seto put another fish on Amarisa's plate.

"Are you not hungry Prince?" Lord Peter asks.

"I lost my appetite earlier." Seto said. Whatever is happening with Seto, I know Amarisa will deal with it.
