I took a deep breath, stepping outside of the stuffy classroom. Running down the hall I pushed open the hallway doors and skipped outside, laughing as the wind greeted me. It whipped my hair around my face. Clouds painted the sky grey, the faint sprinkle of water drumming down from them as a near rain begun to ride in. I had always thought lucky of myself, seeing as I had assumed I had not a soulmate. I pulled up my hoodie sleeve, rubbing at the tattoo on my wrist. Of course, I hadn't the slightest idea of who they really were, but I didn't want to know nor care about who they were, so the tattoo was constantly hidden away from everyone behind my hoodie sleeves.
A few students strode past me, passing glances and giggles to each other as they stepped down the small pair of stairs. I merely hopped over all three, jumping over the railing and running towards my next class in a hush, students merely ignoring my 'annoying' presence.
Not that I minded not having friends. As long as I was outside with the wind and water, of course. Kind of hypocritical for my type of quirk, but being outside and out of the sun at the same time always was my favorite kind of day; A cloudy one, plenty of wind and rain.
Shaking off the few water droplets that rested on my eyelashes, I walked into my second class and tossed my book bag onto the floor beside my desk, sliding into my seat. Slamming my book onto the desk, I began reading through it, skimming the words before eventually staring out the window a few rows away from me longingly. As I watched the few water droplets that resided on the glass slid down the window, A hand slammed down on my book, crushing my finger in the process.
I flinched, nothing more than a mere squeak erupting from my throat. I looked up, the notorious Denki Kaminari standing before me, a devilish grin plastered on his face. "Hey."
"What do you want, Kaminari?" I asked, almost shrinking out of my happy state.
"Don't you want to see your favorite person, Discount Piviter?" He spits.
I rolled my eyes, feeling the glances of my other classmates my direction as I leaned back in my seat ever so slightly. "Like I would know anything about being Discounted." I ignored his question, instead, targeting the nickname. "Personally, I would think you would have more experience, Pikachu Ripoff."
A few gasps echoed around the room and Denki's eye twitched. I smiled, slamming my book open again. "Now if you'll excuse me, I would like to keep reading my book, or can you read as bad as you can control your quirk?" I hissed, venom lacing my words as I returned to reading.
Within a second, a sharp pain spread around my cheek. I was suddenly on the floor, Denki standing with his back turned to me. He shook his fist, flexing it. I looked around, my seat on its side beside me while my desk had been pushed to the side. My hand reached up, pressing a palm around my already bruising cheek. I narrowed my already glaring eyes, watching him high-five his friends. "Soulmate-less bitch. Don't you dare think you are anything more than trash." His heel dug into my book.
I stared at where he had once stood, my eyes locked onto the floor while my hand still rested over my bruised cheek. I stood up, brushing myself up and staring at the mess before me. My eyes never tore away from the ground as I fixed my desk and chair, grabbing my now destroyed book. Staring at the crushed spine of the book, I spun through the pages and closed it, Sliding the book into my bag.
An empty groan echoed through the room as the teacher walked in, the sound obviously from Denki as the teacher apologized for being late and began class.

Skipping from class to class, I enjoyed the rest of my day despite the usual insults raised by Denki. Stepping out of my last class, I ran out of the front gates and skipped down the stairs. About halfway down, I slid down the rail and rolled to the ground. Grinning, I began to run back towards home, Eyes both glued to the dull sky and what was before me, ensuring I didn't knock into someone or trip.
I ran across the crosswalk, just barely skimming past Denki, who began to bitch. I rounded a corner, laughing as I nearly avoided an angry blonde as he chased around a male with curly green hair. I passed a few fruit vendors, eyes glued to the sky. Snatching a few strawberries, I sped away from the vendors and hopped up my apartment steps. Shoving a strawberry into my mouth, I dug my keys out of my bag, unlocking the door and slipping into the dimly lit apartment. My mother was crashed on the couch, my father beside her. The news flashed back and forth between shots of this morning's villain attack.
"Hey Dad, I'm home," I called, tossing my bag onto the floor beside the door. I threw another strawberry in my mouth, throwing one to my dad as he began to speak.
"Hey, kiddo. How was school?" He asked, popping the strawberry in his mouth. I touched my bruised cheek tenderly, sighing to myself.
"It was great, dad." My mind flashed to my destroyed library book. "Just dropped my book on the way home again. Accidently tore out another page." He sighed harshly, eyebrows furrowing.
"How much?" He growled. I sped towards the bathroom, flinching at the sight of a pale blue blotch on my cheek. I opened the cabinet, leaning forward on the tips of my toes to reach the bandages and gauze on the top shelf.
"I don't know yet, Dad. Can I let you know tomorrow?" I called, pressing a cooling liquid to the injury and pressing the gauze in its place. "I need to talk to the librarian..." I paused. "Again..."
He grunts, shutting the TV off and treading down the hall. "Okay, just make sure I know. If you call me tomorrow morning, I can drop off the repair money at the school for you." He said, walking into his room with a yawn. "Good Night, (Y/N)." He calls, the audible sound of the television in his room snapping to life.
I smiled, stepping out of the bathroom. Sliding into the kitchen, I opened the fridge and pulled out a clear box of blueberries before closing the door to my own room and opening my laptop. Sighing at the many, many threats and accusations from Denki, I opened Blue-Tube and threw some music on before starting a game.

The next day, I stepped into my first class to find it almost completely empty, I sighed in relief, throwing my bag beside my desk and grabbing the book from my bag, skipping into the library. I slid the book down the counter. The librarian looked up and gave me an annoyed look, snatching the item off the counter with a barely audible groan.
"You need to start defending yourself, child." The old lady growled, flipping through the crumpled pages. I nodded, rubbing the back of my neck nervously.
"How much would it cost to get a new one?" I ask, tapping my nails on the counter. She sighs, ringing up the book.
She stared at the computer screen for a minute before shaking her head. "Don't worry about it. Just check out a different book and scram." She said. I looked at her in disbelief and shook my head.
"Really, how much is it?" I asked, leaning over the counter ever so slightly. She just waves me off, causing me to chuckle. I nodded, turning away and scanning the books. A heavy-looking book with a bright blue spine caught my attention. I pulled it out, admiring the cover before sliding it open and scanning the first few words. I closed it quickly, pleased with my option, and walked back over to the librarian. She scanned it and sent me on my way.
As I strode down the hall, I had yet to notice the pair of yellow eyes watching my every move as I slid open the door. Stepping back into the classroom, the room was almost entirely filled now. I sat down at my desk, sliding the book into my bag as the school bell rang and the teacher rushed inside.

As the final bell rang throughout the school, students shot through the doors of the classrooms, immediately joining their friend groups and becoming chattering blobs of faces and makeup, at least with the girls.
I sighed, staring down the stairs. About halfway down, hands pressed against my back and sent me tumbling down the concrete stairs, my head smashing against a corner of the step as I rolled to the ground, blood dripping out of the back of my head and staining my once (H/C) hair a deep red. I had rolled onto my stomach, so I merely pushed myself upwards, managing to get to my knees before a girl runs up and kneels beside me, her maroon eyes looking me up and down in concern. She grabbed my wrists as I stared up at the blonde male before me, his goons stepping back as he jumped down the stairs.
"Well look at you now. How pathetic." He growls. The female beside me begins to pull off my hoodie, earning a defiant hiss from me.
I stared down at the tattoo on my arm, the half of it becoming more and more familiar by the second. I stared up at Denki, and his own eyes were on his tattoo, uniform sleeve crinkled and rolled up. His eyes darted from the barely visible part of my tattoo to his, eyes wide. From the distance, they seemed like a complete match. The half he bore matched the other half to the wings that were permanently etched into my arm.
My eyes locked onto the floor and I stood up, pushing the girl beside me away and snatching my hoodie despite my pain. I slung my bag lifelessly over my shoulder and took off running, the beating sounds of another pair of footsteps right on my tail.
Despite my injury, I was able to completely lose the pursuer as I rounded a corner and ducked under a familiar-looking vendor stand. Knowing well where I was, I turned into an alley and slid between the gap in the chainlink fence, popping up beside my apartments. I stared up at them with blurry eyes before I managed to get up to my apartment, surprised by the unlocked door. The second I closed the door, I collapsed to the floor in a ball of tears and pain before quickly falling unconscious.
