Chapter 9: Eclipse
Now, when you're a villain you usually keep to yourself, maybe you have a group you work with but other than that other villains leave you alone unless you decide to make a short-term alliance with them. Unlike what most people believe, the villains don't communicate with one another on a daily bases, they don't have an underground web where they can talk and exchange information.
No, if they want something from another villain or villain group, you had to track them down. That's one of the reasons Wilbur was now walking in the sewers, looking for the entrance to The Egg's base. He was in the sewers because, of course, this huge group of villains would be in the sewers. Quackity had asked Wilbur if he'd hunt them down, seeing as Wilbur had actually been taken to their base before.
Wilbur, like any sane person, refused to go at first. But it's obvious he lost the argument with the avian as he was now walking through the murky water with his hands in his pockets, humming to himself as he tried to figure out what way to go.
It was a good hiding place, Wilbur will admit. But to be honest it was also disgusting and made Wilbur want to throw up from the smell. How did The Egg handle the stench? It was weird hunting The Egg down, because usually when the group needed you they were the ones hunting you down. The first time a member found Wilbur and told him they wanted his help for a mission Wilbur had freaked out, not in a good way. He tried to run away, and of course, they just kept bugging him, until finally their leader showed up.
Eclipse was a scary man, at least in his opinion, he looked like a demon, his white eyes staring into your soul. He didn't know if his eyes were naturally like that, or if it was just something he did when he was a villain. Either way, it throws both other villains and heroes off. He stopped when he heard footsteps behind him, his humming coming to a abrupt stop as he stopped to listen.
"What are you doing here." Eclipse, well at least he didn't need to wander the sewers anymore. Wilbur turned around, brown eyes meeting white. Eclipse, a red and gold wearing villain group leader that struck fear into both heroes' and villains' hearts. His red and gold-lined cloak covered most of his body, but the gold armor and black shirt stuck out, along with this he wore red pants and red boots. He also had pistols on his waist, his signature weapon.
"I'm here to ask you to help us on a mission." The man before him raised a brow, pulling his red and gold hood down as he walked towards Wilbur. He looked like a black demon, and he didn't know if that was just naturally what he looked like or if it was a part of his abilities.
"A mission? Bold of you to come looking for us." His black horns gleamed in the little light they had down here, his tallon-like fingers gripping onto the pistol on his waist. Wilbur's heart jumped out of his chest at the movement.
"No need to shoot." Wilbur quickly said, eyes darting from the gun to Eclipse's narrowed eyes. "I just came to talk." He raised his arms, showing he meant no harm. The other villain slowly removed his hand from the pistol, but his eyes stayed on him. Wilbur let his arms fall, one hand digging into his pocket to pull out a flash drive.
"What is that?" He asked. Wilbur handed it over, Eclipse slowly taking it with a skeptical look.
"It's a drive with a lot of information on Pandoras Vault." Wilbur began to explain. "We're making a plan to attack the Pandora's Vault... We want The Egg in on it." The leader looked up towards the other villain at that, pocketing the drive after a few moments of contemplating.
"Fine, Jubilee. I'll look at it and decide." Wilbur smiled at the villain's words, at least they had a maybe. It was more than Wilbur was expecting from a villain like Eclipse. "Now, get out of here." Wilbur did not need to be asked twice.
Two Hours Later. . .
Wilbur walked into a Cafe changed out of his villain's clothes and into normal day clothes. He looked around the Cafe for a moment before smiling at Quackity who sat at one of the tables, a coffee in his hand as he stared out the window at the bustling city before him. The villain took the other in, from his sparkling blue eyes to the sun rays beautifully complimenting the man's skin.
Wilbur took a deep breath, walking over and sliding into the seat opposite of the other villain. Quackity looked over, his eyes looked as if he was in another world for a moment before he came back to earth. "Well, it's good to see you made it out of The Egg's lair alive." Quackity chuckled, eyes gleaming as he leaned his head against his hand. Wilbur himself smiled, taking in the other's carefree expression. It was something he had always loved about Quackity.
"Yeah, well I got very close to being shot to death, so you should thank me for doing your dirty work." Quackity laughed, shaking his head as he lifted his head off his hand.
"Well, in that case next time I'll dive into The egg's territory." Wilbur rolled his eyes, knowing Quackity would never do such a thing. One thing that Wilbur knew better than anyone else about the man before him was his fear of The Egg.
"Sure you will." Quackity sighed, looking back out the window as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Other than you almost getting shot, how did it go?" He tilted his head as he asked the question, his blue eyes looking towards him in curiosity.
"Well, Eclipse accepted the flash drive, so it might be a yes." Wilbur explained, watching as the other got excited.
"If he accepts, there's no way the plan won't go as planned!" Quackity reached out for Wilbur's hand and squeezed it, huge smile on his face, it took the other by surprise. "And if the Bench Trio can get the vigilantes in on it, we're set!" Quackity's hand left his own after a moment, the other going to take another sip of his coffee.
"Well, with that out of the way, uh." Wilbur paused, nervous now that the other was looking at him with expectant eyes. "I uh... I... would you like t-" A beep interrupted the two, the other villain grabbing his phone and frowning.
"I gotta go Wil." Quackity said, getting out of his seat before facing Wilbur again, who was fighting back a frown. "We can finish this later if you want?"
"Oh uh- yeah! Yeah... later." Quackity smiled, turning to leave the Cafe. Wilbur watched, his brown eyes drooping once the door shut. Why couldn't he just ask the dumb bird out?
Why was Pandora's vault so awful? A man says in the corner, hugging his legs as he stared at the cold tiled floor. He hated it here, he hated the fact he let himself end up here. His green eyes squeezed shut as he tried to stop those stupid tears from returning. He'd be fine... He had hope.
Quackity would come for him soon. The cell door opened once the male let his eyes close, quickly reopening to look at the person walking towards him. "Charlie Cicle, you're coming to the interrogation room with me." Marionette, the last person Charlie wanted to see. "I have some questions about The Gambler for you."
Oh no.... What did Quackity do now?
