EMILY EVERGLOT WAS THE GOLDEN GIRL OF HAWKINS. Everyone either wanted to be here or be with her. She could do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted, and no one would dare to tell her no.

THAT WAS UNTIL SHE DIED IN 1983. It came as a shock to everyone — the cold-blooded murder of a girl that shone like the sun. And no one was more heartbroken than Steve Harrington. He had lost his best friend, his confidante, and most importantly, the girl he loved, but never got to tell. The loss destroyed him — he turned petty, becoming the king of Hawkins and creating his own click in high school.

BUT LITTLE BY LITTLE, he built himself again. He started dating Nancy Wheeler, and helped the kids with the Upside Down. And while his heart still ached profoundly, he learned to live with it.

A YEAR PASSED. Everything was fine as Halloween rolled round the corner, teenagers got ready to party and spend the night wasted in costumes. Steve wasn't all that different — he wanted a night to distract him from Emily. But in a drunk argument with Nancy, he professes he still loves Emily, and doesn't think he'll ever stop.

STORMING AWAY, he gets into the car and drives away. But what Steve didn't realise is when he professed his love out loud, the clock had struck midnight, and the full moon shone directly above the woods of Hawkins. Before anyone knows it, a hand is darting from a grave, crawling out and back into the reality of the small town.

COMING BACK FROM THE DEAD is not something that should be possible. But there Emily Everglot stood, as if time had never continued for her. And what can Steve help but think that he's been given a second chance?

BUT THE THREAT OF THE UPSIDE DOWN STILL EXISTS. And Emily would be damned if she allowed some kids risk their lives when she had already lost hers.
