The rain hadn't stopped since morning. Jimin had came back to his room to start preparing for the arrival of his parents.

The pitter patter sound of the rain made him go towards his piano. He placed his little hands on them. It had been a long time since he had played it. His expert fingers moved elegantly as he closed his eyes and tried to feel the wet weather.

Yoongi Hyung would have been proud of him if he was there. He had taught the little kid with extreme care and patience. He was happy when his cousin wanted to be like him.

How many years had it been ?

Three ?

They hadn't seen each for three years. Yoongi had to rush his marriage and go to England for an emergency. Since then he hadn't heard from him.

The clock struck ten.

" Young master ! Won't you eat ? " asked Nancy when he opened his eyes after he was done playing Yoongi's signature piece. His eyes had moistened up with tears.

Yoongi was always an admirable figure in his eyes. He always asked him to root for himself. He never thought about what others thought about him. He always put him and his choices first. Jimin probably liked him even more because of his courage to speak for himself. Not just stay hidden and agree with everything others destined him to be.

He used to set his own priorities.

" Yes .... I should eat  ... " He mumbled and stood up.

His stomach grumbled loudly. He had been keeping his hunger aside for the whole day to have fun.

He quietly followed Nancy to the dining table. Nancy had tried her level best to book a good dinner to satisfy the taste bud of the kid she loved.

The dining room was dark. Only a candle  illuminated a small part of it.

" Ooh.... Hotteok ! Ah... I love it so much!" He squealed unifying the palms of his hands to clap in excitement.

He grabbed three of his favourite goodies and placed them on his ceramic plate. His small hands caught one of them and stuffed a piece of  it in his mouth. He closed his eyes in delight. The Hotteok indeed was delicious. The oozing cheese was slowly melting in his mouth and was sending him to heaven.

He quickly completed his food and licked his fingers to clean off the remainings. It wasn't everyday that he enjoyed dinner.

" Would you like to have another ?" questioned Nancy seeing how much he was loving them.

Jimin nodded as a response and earned a chuckle from the middle aged woman. She placed two more on his plate and sat down beside him while he devoured them.

" Should we play some games now?" Jimin asked after eating to his heart's content.

" You need to go to bed now. " insisted Nancy and almost dragged the unwilling child back to his room.

" When are they going to come back ?"

" I don't know myself... They told me that I should stay awake and be by your side in case they are late. "

Jimin looked outside. He didn't want them to come back so soon. He wanted the day to drag even longer so that he could do things according to his will.

His room was the definition of the word ' boring '. It consisted of two beds and was painted white. There were two shelves full of books from different parts of the world. There were two  cupboards to keep clothes.

He took his big teddy bear and placed it on his lap. The brown coloured cutie was his sleeping partner. He always hugged it tightly whenever he slept.  Nancy's bed was beside him. He never slept with his mother. Even his days after being born was spent with Nancy. She had always been there for him.

Still a part of him wanted to be caressed by his mother. He wanted to hear lullabies and stories. He wanted to hug her like the kids in the books he had read.

His mother was always drunk at night and sprouting gibberish in her room. She would sit infront of her dressing table and glance at the mirror for hours. She would throw fits and destroy things.

His father was completely oblivious of the thing. He was always in his room doing his own job.

Sometimes Jimin wondered if he even knew that he existed. He was always so distant. He even had his food delivered at the front of his room. He ate whenever he felt like.

He was about to lie down when they heard the sounds of the  pulling of  a horse cart. It seemed that they had returned home.

Nancy asked him to stay in his bed as his mother would scold him for being up for late. She would be the only one to go and greet them.

Jimin pretended to sleep while Nancy put her sweater on to go outside. Jimin found his heart beating fast. He was tensed for some reason. He would be dead if she found out that he hadn't followed the rules that she had set for him. The hallway.... It was the room he hadn't stepped his foot on before. His mother always kept him away from that room.

Maybe there was a reason...

The sounds of his mother's boots were heard. She had entered the house. She was quiet. Extremely quiet which was unlike her. Jimin had expected her to return drunk. He put on his slippers and peaked through the window.

He found that Nancy was standingwith his mother in the living room. There was no sign of his father. What he could figure out on his mother's face in the light of the lanterns was a cool and collected face.

She seemed to be distracted. She took of her fancy hat and sat down on the couch. She poured some red wine in one of the glasses and took a sip. She gestured Nancy to go to the kitchen . Jimin who couldn't understand what was going on , decided to go back to his bed.

He had his eyes closed when he felt the presence of his mother in his room. He tried his best and acted as if he was in a  deep sleep. His mother walked towards him and placed a chair by his bed. Her slender fingers ran through the silky brown hair of her son.

She was completely opposite today. Her aggressive nature had suddenly been replaced by a motherly figure. He could feel his mother weeping as her hand slowly patted his back gently.

Jimin found him crying too. He silently let his tears wet his pillow. He didn't expect to get treated so nicely. It was her first time showing affection towards him. Moreover , which child would be able to control his tears when his mother would weep ?

Jimin felt how much he loved his mother even though she never took him in her embrace and love nest.

He was her child afterall.
