The beginning of the Year 2020 was 'as usual' in Most Places of the Earth...

The people who celebrate the New Year's Eve were partying, dancing and drinking champagne, wishing their friends 'Happy New Year' and admiring the firework shows in bigger or smaller groups on All Continents, each in its own time zone.

They really hoped that the New Year would be 'better than the previous one' as they usually hope - but This Time it unfortunately wasn't...

The first days of January looked absolutely normal: People were going to work and school, going out with friends, visiting libraries, restaurants and cinemas, their hair salons and beauty studios and going to shopping malls whenever they wanted - without even expecting that 'something bad was in the air' - and it was soon going to change...

They might have heard of some 'Very Infections Virus in China' that was first noticed on November 19th 2019 - in big industrial Wuhan city located in Hubei province -  where it was spreading quite fast - but if it was 'so far from them' they thought that it would 'stay in China' and still felt safe.

Nobody really knew where this virus came from - there were many theories: from God's Punishment for Sinners because they didn't respect other people and their Planet enough - sent like biblical plagues - to humans getting the virus from Bats - or biological weapon created on purpose, or even the Virus 'excaping some lab that wasn't safe enough' and spreading around  - but none of them was confirmed. But what was known to everyone was: It could give you pneumonia, problems with breathing, or even kill you if you had some chronic deseases at the same time - or your immune system wasn't strong enough. 

And it didn't stay in Wuhan - it first spread through China - and then through the whole world - brought by some tavelers coming back from there. Of course they didn't bring it consciously - they might have been totally unaware of being infected while deciding to leave China and go back home in some other part of the world - because this virus was mischevious enough to give you the first symptoms from a few days till even two weeks after getting infected - so they might have felt well during the whole travel - and 'fall ill' some time after arriving back to their hometown. 

And if they met other people meanwhile - they could have infected them as well, not even knowing about it.

So that's how it worked in practice. But unfortunately: Too many people either didn't believe that 'this new virus problem may grow to the Pandemic size' or that it's 'as dangerous as the news claim'. Some even tried to 'laugh it out' joking about other people's virus fear in immature ways and apologizing later if they got too far - or 'showing off their bravery' and claiming 'not to be afraid of it', ignoring All the safety measures that were advised to take by WHO and their countries governments - which resulted in some 'unnecessary infections spread' that could have been avoided if they acted responsible enough. 

The situation was going worse and worse all over the world. 

So the governments of most countries - maybe except Sweden - decided to close not only big public places like schools, swimming pools, museums, cinemas, libraries, playgrounds, parks, churches and restaurants - all where many people can go at the same time, but also hair salons and beauty studios to prevent the Virus spread - but it was spreading Anyway. 

The virus was first said to 'kill only elderly people' or those with weak immunity or other chronic deseases - but with time it turned out that even strong young adults, with no health problems before catching the Covid 19 infection and some infected teens started dying - so Nobody could feel safe. 

The media were first telling the society that 'children can't get infected' or 'don't have any symptoms' - but may infect their grandparents so should stay away from them' - but some time later the whole world heard that the Youngest deadly victim of Coronavirus Infection was a 5-Year-Old Child! - So another 'Covid Fact' had to be modified.

The situation was terrifying, some even called it  'Third World War' - but this was was 'People against the Virus' - not 'People against People' fight. And the VIrus was winning for Most of the Time - cause there was No Vaccine or Medicine to stop it!

There were only tests for some people that were at risk of infection.

And speed building of hospitals - because the 'regular ones' were quickly getting overloaded with patients. The drastic growth of infections and virus deadly victims was overwhelming. 

Most of the society was 'locked in their houses' only with families, partners they lived with or their room mates for many months, without the possibility to go anywhere except from shopping for food, medicine and hygiene items - so after some time they felt almost as if they were under some kind of home arrest! - Necessary to keep your life and health.

They couldn't even go to church on Sunday, get married - or meet their family members they didn't live with or their best friends and had to cover their faces with protective masks whenever they went shopping for life necessities and stand in superlong lines with at least 2 meters distance from one person to another before just entering the grocery, bank or post office - because the number of people 'who can safely get inside' was limited. 

Even the common polite greeting like shaking hands was forbidden. 

Because the virus spread easily on  hands - and noone wanted to risk that. The price was just too high to pay! - And this 'price' was the Humanity's Life and Health!

For the First Time in History since this musical even was started ( so since 1956 ) the Eurovision Song Contest was cancelled, and many singers had to cancel their concerts and world tours because of the safety measures. Most important sports events had to be cancelled as well - and those that weren't cancelled were turned into online space - and took place with the real contestants racing on a virtual level. 

Presidential election of 2020 was cancelled in many countries - if it usually took place in the first half of the year.

Easter 2020 also looked 'different than usual' - because there wasn't the traditional food blessing in churches, people were so used to during this holiday. There was no gathering and sharing the joy with other believers - there was just a tv Mass - and believe me, it didn't feel the same. 

It was a new situation for Everyone. The sudden virus spread surprised the whole world! - And Nobody was really prepared for that...

A number of restrictions and limitation that have never been needed before were introduced due to Coronavirus Pandemic, the Infections and death rates were just growing and growing and Covid 19 took thousands of lives in many countries. The people's outdoor activities and RL social life had to be drasticaliy limited for the sake of Health and Safety... And it all made many people feel 'trapped' and start asking: 'When will That Nightmare end?' 

But the true Nightmare was to start later - when Nobody expected it and all the people thought that the Pandemic finally ended so they were safe again... But it was 'too early to feel safe' yet. Cause what happened After it was Much Scarier than Anyone could imagine!...
