Chapter Seventeen
One month later...
Margaret
I watched as Vin played with a couple kids at the park. He worked so well with kids, and it made me happy. The kids just ran up to him and asked him to play so he said yes. They were adorable little kids, too.
A smile made its way onto my face. I loved Vin with all my heart and to see him work so well with kids made my heart skip a beat.
That was, until I had the sudden urge to throw up.
I ran to the nearest bathroom and threw up my lunch. I had been feeling really nauseated lately. I had no idea why, though. Maybe I was getting the flu?
It was really cold outside. There was almost a week left until Christmas. I was super excited because I bought Vin something really cool and I was hoping he would like it. I even got Mom a new computer that has really good service but for cheap.
I stood up, flushed the toilet, then grabbed my water bottle out of my bag and swished my mouth out. Then, I popped a piece of mint gum in my mouth and left the bathroom.
"Oh, thank God! There you are, Meg. I turned one second and the next you were gone. I was really worried," Vin said, wrapping his arms around me.
I hugged him back. "I was just in the bathroom."
"But I didn't know that," he said. "Anything could've happened."
I chuckled. "I'm fine. I'm getting sick, that's all."
He pulled back and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "Should we leave? I don't want it to get worse."
I shook my head. "You can keep playing. I'm okay," I said.
Vin smiled at me. "Thanks, babe. You're the best." He ran back over to the kids and started playing with them again. I walked over to the nearest bench and sat down. I pulled out my phone and pulled up YouTube before going to watch some of BajanCanadian's videos. Ever since the day I watched a few of his videos, I became hooked.
I picked a '50 against 4' and watched it. It was really funny, actually. Mitch and Jerome kept dying, even though they killed a lot of their enemies. They ended up having to cheat at the end to break the blocks of obsidian.
"What are you watching?" a voice said.
I looked up and saw Noah standing there with an ice cream cone. "A video."
He sat down beside me and laughed. "Obviously." He took a big bite of his ice cream and swallowed it.
"How can you eat ice cream in the mid of winter? It's freezing out here," I said, rubbing my arms through the sleeves.
He shrugged. "I'm cold blooded."
I snorted. "That's hard to believe."
"Eh."
"So, what's up?" I said.
"I just wanted to say 'hi'. So...Hi."
I smiled. "Hi."
He held up a bag. "I gotta go. I have to give this to my mom."
I nodded with a smile. "'Kay. See you in school."
He waved at me before leaving.
"What did he want?" Vin whispered in my ear, causing me to jump.
"My gosh! You scared the shit out of me!" I said, smacking his chest.
He chucked. "I'm sorry."
"He just wanted to say hi. No big deal."
He rolled his eyes. "Wanna leave?"
I looked around the park and saw that the kids had gone home. "Sure."
So, we started walking home. On the way, we passed a pizza shop. The smell wafted through the air and into my nose, making me hungry.
"Hey, babe, can we get a pizza?" I asked.
"Yeah. What kind do you want?" he said.
"Junk pizza," I said without hesitation.
He stared at me skeptically. "But you don't like onions or peppers."
"When did I say that?" I said.
"Uh, every time we get a pizza," he said.
I shrugged. "Just a craving, I guess."
We went in and ordered the pizza, then sat down at a table once we had it.
I took a bite of one slice and moaned at the deliciousness. "It's so good."
Vin stared at me as if I had two heads. "Are you okay? You've been acting really weird," he asked, sounding really concerned.
I nodded. "Perfectly fine."
If only I knew that I wasn't.

The next day...
"Mom, I'm home!" I yelled, closing the door. "Where are you?"
"In my room!" she yelled back. I walked to her room after taking my jacket and boots off, where I saw she was standing there with a small box.
"Hey, Mom," I said, kissing her cheek. "Missed you."
Her stern look made me take a step back. "We need to talk."
"Um...sure." We sat down on her bed and she grabbed my hands.
"I know this mat be weird, but have you...You know...Had sex? At all?"
I blushed fiercely. "U-um...Yeah. A f-few times actually."
She sighed. "With Vincent?" she said.
I nodded. "Y-yeah."
She nodded with an 'mm hmm'. "Did you use protection?"
"Yeah. Why are you asking?" I said.
"Because Vincent has told me how you're acting and I don't him it's the flu."
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean?"
She handed me the box.
"A pregnancy test?" I asked. "You think I'm pregnant?"
Mom sighed, but nodded. "I do, actually. You're having the same symptoms I had when I was pregnant with you."
I couldn't believe it. Me? Pregnant?
"N-no, Mom. I can't be pregnant. I'm only seventeen."
She rubbed my back for comfort. "I was eighteen when you were conceived. Your father wasn't very excited so he left. I haven't seen him since."
"What will I do if I am? I don't know how to raise a baby."
She gave me a soft smile. "I'll help you and I'll approve of whatever decision you make," she said, tears forming in her eyes.
Tears flooded my eyes as well. "You're literally the best mom ever."
I gave her a hug before she spoke again. "Go take the test. There's two in there, just in case."
I smiled at her. "I love you, Mom."
"I love you, too. No matter what happens I'll always be here for you," she said. I went into the bathroom and used the tests. The results would come in five minutes. As I waited, I started to become scared. I was too young to have a baby.
What will happen if I am? Will I raise him/her? Will they be put up for adoption?
What will kids at school think? They'll think I'm a whore.
What will Vin think?
As I thought about the bad things, the test beeped. I was honestly too scared to look. I didn't want to be pregnant; I was too young.
My hands started shaking and I couldn't bring myself to look. I opened the door of the bathroom and called for Mom.
"I can't look at it," I said, the tears starting to form again.
Mom pulled me into a hug. "It's okay. It'll be alright. Want me to look at it?"
I nodded. "Would you? Please?"
Mom walked into the bathroom and picked up the test. I was honestly dreading the answer. I did not want to be pregnant. I couldn't be.
Mom looked at me with an apologetic expression. "It says positive."
The tears started falling after that. "N-no. It has to be a malfunction or something. Let me take the second one."
So I did.
And it was also positive.
"I'm sorry, Mom. I failed you as a daughter," I sobbed.
She looked at me sternly. "No you didn't. You are the best daughter I could ever ask for and I wouldn't change this for the world. I will be behind you all the way, no matter what you decide to do."
I smiled at her through my tears. "You're the best mom ever. I love you."
"I love you."
"Mom?"
"Yes, honey?"
"What will Vin think?" I asked. I was really worried that he would be like my dad and leave when he found out I was pregnant with his daughter/son.
Mom smiled. "I'm sure he'll be ecstatic! This is his kid, too. He won't love you any less. But you do have to tell him."
I nodded. "I'll tell him on Christmas."
"That sounds good."
"And Mom?" I said. "What if he leaves like Dad?"
She sighed. "Then he's not worth it."

Heyo!
So...I love you guys?
I honestly don't have much to say, actually.
This book will most likely end at chapter thirty. Thanks for sticking through it!
*I realize that they've only been together for four-five months. This was planned.*
