Chapter Eight- Part One

Corny

I watched as Margaret kept looking through her closet for something to wear. It was getting annoying to be honest. She would look through it once, try a couple things, then she'll go back and look some more.

"Come on, Margaret, it's getting annoying to watch you look for clothes. Just pick something and put it on," I said.

She sighed. "It's not that simple. This is my first party and I want it to be memorable."

I groaned in annoyance. "Babe, you look good in anything. Pick something and let go."

Her cheeks and the tips of her ears turned red. "Fine, I'll pick the gift you gave me."

I smiled. "You should've picked it from the start!"

She went into her closet to change. I laid on her bed and stared at the ceiling. Why did she have to have such a beautiful smile? It makes me fuzzy inside when I see it.

Corny, huh?

I didn't notice that she was standing in front of me until she smacked me. "Huh?"

"Tada!" I bought her a black dress with white details, black flats and little rose earrings. Let me just say, she was rocking that look.

"Wow. You look amazing," I said, sitting up.

"Thanks. Should we get going? The party starts soon," she said after looking at the clock.

I got up and laced our fingers together. "Oh, but of course," I said with a fake accent. We walked to my car after saying 'bye' to Meg's mom. I drove to the party a little faster than I should've, but it doesn't matter because Meg was excited. Once we got there, I parked on the side street since there wasn't any space in front of the house. Then, I helped Margaret out of the car and locked it.

"I'm so excited!" Meg exclaimed, grabbing my hand.

"I know you are." She smiled at me as we walked into the house. The speakers were blaring 'My House' by Flo Rida. How ironic was that?

"What do you want to do first?" I asked.

"Can we dance?" she said.

I nodded. "Anything you want, babe." We danced for a long time before taking a break.

"Want some punch?" I asked her.

"Yes please," Meg said breathlessly. I went to the punch table and grabbed a couple cups of punch. I then walked back to Margaret and handed her a cup. "Thank you."

"No prob."

"Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up," Megan said. She wasn't with Noah, though. She was with some random dude from school.

"Does Noah know you're a slut?" Meg asked her.

"No, but he's not going to know. You're not going to tell him either," she demanded.

"You can't tell me what to do," Meg retorted.

"I don't want to argue about this. On a completely unrelated note, did you guys try the snacks? They're pretty good." Megan wrapped her arm around the guys waist and smirked at us.

Something's fishy...

"No, not yet. We might, though," Margaret said, lacing her fingers with mine again. Megan glared at Meg before leaving.

"Do we want to try the snacks?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "Do you want to?"

"Only if you do," I replied. Meg smiled at me and gave me a hug.

"You're the best," she whispered. We walked to the snack table together and looked over them.

"That one looks good," I said, pointing at the potato chips.

"Ooh, how about those?" Meg said, grabbing some brownies. I wrapped my arm around her waist and took a brownie. Once we sat back down, I took a bite of the brownie and immediately my eyes went wide.

"Meg don't eat the-" When I turned to her, she was staring at me with wide eyes. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. She started coughing horribly. Her brownie fell to the floor. Her face turned red and blotchy. I hurried and grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed 911.

"911, what is your emergency?" Meg clutched my arm, and that was when I noticed that she was holding her throat.

"Can you breathe?" I asked her. She shook her head no frantically. "I need help. My girlfriend is having an allergic reaction and she can't breathe. Please hurry," I said.

"Where are you?" they asked. I quickly told them the address. "It will be about ten minutes, sir."

"We don't have ten minutes!" I shouted. "She can't breathe!"

"Sir, calm down."

Tears sprang to my eyes. "Calm down?! I am not going to calm the fuck down! My girlfriend can't breathe! She," my voice cracked. "She might not make it!"

"It will be okay," they said.

"It will not be okay! How would you feel if someone you were close to was dying?! Huh? How would it feel?" When they didn't answer, I felt the tears start to run down my cheeks. Meg slumped against me and I slowly brought her down to the floor. "Meg, please stay with me." She rested her head on my chest. I swiped some hair out of her face. "Please."

"Sir, they're almost there," the operator said.

"Meg. Meg! Please," I cried. I didn't notice that everyone stopped around me until the police rushed in with the paramedics. They lifted her off of me and put her on a stretcher. "Can I ride in the back?"

"Who are you to her?" he asked.

"Boyfriend. I'm her boyfriend." The cop nodded and I ran outside to the ambulance. After I climbed in, they shut the doors and rushed to the hospital. It felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest. I wanted her to be okay so badly.

Once we got to the hospital, they rushed Meg in. Meg's mom was notified and she was there as well.

"How is she?"

"Not good," I choked out. "She stopped breathing about five minutes ago. It was all because of-" Megan. Megan heard me tell Noah that she was allergic to peanuts. How could she do something like that?! The thought made my blood boil.

"Let's sit down," Mary said. Once we sat down, Mary burst out crying. I cried with her. I can't believe that I didn't see what Megan had up her sleeve. She was a horrible person.

One hour later.

"Is anyone here for Margaret Anderson?" she asked. Both Mary and I stood up quickly and ran over to the doctor.

"Is she okay?" I asked just as Mary said, "How is she?"

The doctor sighed. "She's stable. The bad thing is, she's gone into a coma. Her body couldn't handle the allergic reaction and once she was stable, her body became weak. It stopped trying to get the traces of peanut out of her system. She also was without oxygen for about twenty minutes, so she might have brain damage. We won't be able to tell until she wakes up."

"But she's alive?" I said hopefully.

"Yes," the doctor said. I turned to Meg's mom and hugged her. "And, you can visit her as well. Maybe hearing your voices will help her wake up."

OMG!

I can't believe I just did that. I'm a horrible person! D;

There is a part two, so I might get it up today or tomorrow.

I still have a bit of writers block, so I'm a bit iffy on this chapter.

Was it okay?

Tell me in the comments! ;)
