Day 6
Maggie
~Hello! Me again XD I searched a little and found this. A little story, about a band you know all to well, that I wrote some months ago^^ I hope you like it~
A link to the future
My eyes opened. Bright light shone through the windows. "Huh, I remember dropping the blinds yesterday..." My hands reached for the remote control, but instead, my fingers hit something else. "Eh, what's something fleshy doing in my bed? I turned on my side, only to gasp for air. Next to me was... A tall guy with medium-length blond hair... His face looked familiar... I shouted "Toru?!", which obviously woke the other one up. "Eh, Taka, what's up? Didn't you say yesterday that we didn't have to get up so early today? Ed won't be here until about 12:00, let me rest." came grumpy from the other one.
With that I had my confirmation that this was Toru, but... he looked so much older, still good, granted, but so much older... "Uh, what about yesterday? We weren't together then... And who the fuck is Ed?" it slipped out. Then Toru finally opened his eyes. "It's too early for that..." he stopped in the middle of the sentence.
"Taka?" I rolled my eyes annoyed, older or not, he was still the same... "Yes! Damn it, would you mind telling me what's going on? What about your hair and... did you get ten years older overnight?!" I let my ignorance out. ... Taka? You look so... Well, different..." without answering my question, he came up with this. "What do you mean?" I asked, but Toru's eyes widened, which looked a bit funny, as if he had understood something. "You Taka, tell me... You still know who Ed is, don't you? And that we're in England right now to record, right? And that you and I are sharing a room...?" I didn't let him come any further. "Hell no, I only know that we played at Budokan the day before yesterday and now... What the hell do you mean England, we've never been abroad! And make recordings? Were are the other two then?" I shook my head to remove the many confusing thoughts from it. Toru suddenly stood up and grabbed my shoulders. "Hey what the hell?!" I let out a protest cry. But he didn't listen to it, he just kept on shaking me. "Tell Taka, what year is it?" I didn't quite understand what he was trying to say "Huh? Should I call the doctor?" I asked and grabbed my phone, which should be somewhere on the nightstand. My hands held a strangely elongated thing. A "Smafo?" I exclaimed. Since when did I possess such a thing? Latest technology, phew, what a load of rubbish, it had to be Torus. "What year?" this one stubbornly repeated. "2010, you stupid noodle," I said.
"Taka... It's 2020... You are... Into the future... That's not possible, you're making fun of me, right?" Toru stammered in a bit of a panic. "Huh? No, I'm not kidding you, and... What do you mean, you don't... 2020? That's a joke, right? 10 years... That's a f***** ten-year difference!"
An hour later the two of us were sitting at the kitchen table in the small apartment in which we were staying... Toru had explained everything to me with a lot of effort, but it had been a bit much for my head...
" So much has happened? We are... famous? Well, like - don't you dare leave the house or the reports will kill you, famous?" Toru nodded, a cold shiver ran down my spine. "And we make our music with producers now?" Here I was hoping he would deny. " Exactly" came from him, though.
" However, but what happened to "Putting our work in the hands of others, so that they might ruin it, is out of the question,?" I made a statement which I had just passed on to our manager yesterday, in 2010, when he came up with this suggestion. I had planned to tell the boys as soon as possible...
"It was your idea..." came from Toru. "What?! That's even worse..." I cursed and began to despise my older self a little for it. What was that retard thinking, I think it's ok to call himself that, just thinking?
"What are we gonna do about Ed? And... We have another gig in less than a month..." Toru stated. I hardly thought about it, even if all this was a bit much for my brain, I had to deal with it, for better or worse... "You are going to this Eddy guy and I will stay here and listen to the songs..." I suggested, which Toru seemed not to like very much.
"Uh, Taka, please only listen to the songs from Niche syndrome to Jinsei x Boku, okay? Because we'll do the rest together." What did he mean by that? Our music couldn't be bad at all, if we had become so famous with it...
I promise him, and a short time later, the doorbell rang. Toru went to open, it must be Eddy, Edward or just Ed? Toru had urged me not to make a sound, but he didn't seem to expect that Ed was worried about my supposedly " ill " self. So we soon found ourselves in a rather unpleasant situation.
A medium sized man with red hair, a little beard and round glasses came in, all in all I could have described him as a teddy. That aside, the man stared at me curiously. I deliberately averted my gaze from him.
"What do you want..." But before I could finish my sentence, Toru interrupted me. "Yes, so as you can see, Taka played around with his appearance yesterday and... Well, now he's in a bad mood because... It didn't work out the way he wanted it to.", the guitarist started explaining.
"Oh well, then, you probably want to stay at home, don't you Taka-san?" this Ed asked friendly. To be titled "san" by him, where he appeared to be, at first, by no means and visibly, not Japanese and secondly, much older than me, yes heavens, he looked older than Toru, too, but maybe I was simply wrong. In any case, -san was a bit strange from that point of view, but it was good to know that maybe I had taught a little respect to people abroad...
At Ed's question I just nodded wherever he and Toru were going, I was curious to hear what we had recorded in the past, or rather in the future.
The guitarist mentioned jinsei x boku (pronounced jinsei kakete boku wa), which was a motto of my life, meaning I had actually taken it and made an album out of it.
Ed and Toru were still conversing next to me, when would they finally leave? A question came to my mind: "What about Alex, does he have a permission to return or has he been back playing since we started touring abroad? Toru gave me a distressed look.
"No Taka, you really must have slept in a joke box tonight, huh?" Toru jested nervously in the direction of "Eddis", then he laughed and the guitarist got in. I didn't care if the guy was a famous pop star, 'Eddie... pfuh who needs this popstar.' I let go a snorr and stomped back into the bedroom, without words of farewell, just saying: 'Toru, where the hell are the albums and the CD player?
"On Spotify!" exclaimed this Ed guy, as if he understood why I asked.
"Haha and what and where is this shitty Spot-ify?" I gave back temptedly, I was able to make fun of myself as well.
"Taka!" came from Toru.
"Nothing Taka! Shit!" I yelled out, before I slammed the door. " Pretty heated today the dear Taka, huh?" I heard "Eddylein" say in surprise, then they decided to leave. Without telling me where to find the music!
Suddenly this strange smartphone thing on the bedside table started vibrating. Had Toru forgotten it, or was there actually a chance that it was mine? Only one way to find out. I carefully picked it up and pressed a button on the side so that the screen lit up. I wiped over it, the phone unlocked after a "fingerprint recognized" light came on, then my view of the home screen was clear.
The background showed a picture of the four of us, Tomoya, Ryota, Toru and me, but they all looked so different. Especially me: blonde, short hair, brushed up, my face hadn't changed much, it just grew up. I briefly wondered what the older Taka was doing right now, but I didn't really keep myself busy with it. Much more interesting was the reason for the vibration. A message, at least that's what I assumed.
There were already some people with smartphones in 2010, among them my little brother Hiroki, he had introduced me a little bit to this world, so I knew that the green speech bubble symbol stood for "Line", I opened the app, whereupon some messages from people I knew, but also people I didn't recognize shone at me. At the very top was one from Toru. Opend it.
"Good, at least you remember how to use Line. Well, I'll be away until around two o'clock, make sure you survive until then! Therefore no rash attack on the ceran hob ( cooking plate ) please! The green app with the three black stripes on your phone is Spotify, open it and enter our band name in the loupe above. Once again, I ask you to spare the yellow, blue, black and red album in the meantime. Good luck, see you later,
Toru"
