|04| Magic Kingdom

Alex wandered down to breakfast, pancakes or waffles on the horizon of breakfast-related things. Jordan and Bear had already gone down earlier, and Dix was moseying after Alex. Just this morning, with the windows and doors firmly shut, Alex had opened a door to Medora - right into the palace, and the strain and effort pulled on her growing hunger. It was required of Dix to check in with her parents and give them updates, seeing as she was a royal princess after all.

Over the next few days, Alex would rebuild her strength to open a door for Jordan and Bear - Jordan didn't seem to want to talk to his family in the slightest, so it would only be to Woodhaven. Alex gave her room number to the waitress and she guided Alex to where Bear and Jordan were scoffing down their food. She dropped her phone onto the booth seat next to Bear and grabbed a plate to pile her waffles on, adding just the right amount of maple syrup and a pat of butter on top. Her mug with hot chocolate had Mickey grinning on the front, and she wished for part of the healing flower, laendra, to sooth her sore feet.

Even if she was able to get some, she was reluctant to take from the Meyrains, as their stocks of laendra were, and had been low ever since the war despite their original plentiful amount. A lot of it had been used during the war, and even more in the aftermath, the toll of physical injuries was terrifying. With a few experiments, Alex had found that laendra, stirred into a warm drink like hot chocolate, helped calm the brain down. Many of the previously Claimed Meyarains suffered from the effect of Aven's Claiming over their minds, and the concoction helped, though much of the mental healing had to be done by them, it made it easier.

But a conversation with Kayla had solved that problem of waiting around, because the Core Four now held a FastPass+ each. Kayla had described its uses and pros with the cost of more money. It was of no trouble to Alex, savouir of Medora, defeater of Aven, who was generously awarded despite her best attempts to refuse the money. In the end, Alex found it quite helpful, as Disney World was expensive.

She topped the waffle with a healthy serving of chopped strawberries and then headed back for her booth, a skip in her step as she thought of what they had planned for the day ahead of them. Yesterday, they'd spent the rest of the afternoon and evening exploring Hollywood Studios. After their second turn on the Tower of Terror, they'd spotted the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster opposite, and had tried it out. The afternoon passed like this, pausing to do or investigate things they liked or had interest in.

For the first half of today, they were heading for Magic Kingdom, where the famed Space Mountain resided. Alex finished her breakfast on an almost full stomach, hoping everything would digest before she spun around Space Mountain. Jordan, however, didn't heed her warning and continued eating with gusto. Dix eventually came down, a little flustered and her cheeks heated.

"Everything okay?" Jordan asked, offering her a bite of one of his many dishes. Dix shrugged, mumbling something for only Jordan to hear.

Alex decided not to intervene, and finished up her breakfast, clearing her throat. "I'll uh, just head upstairs now, get us ready for Magic Kingdom?"

The others nodded and she left the buffet with a wave to Pluto and Goofy mascots. The fresh breeze blowing in from the beach hit her face in flutters, blowing her hair back as she took the outside route to her room. In a comfy pair of sandals (which had Mickey Ears on them because they weren't planning on staying this long, so they'd bought clothes yesterday), Alex entered her room with a swipe of her card. She found a newly printed out itinerary on the coffee table, the dates jiggled around to fit Universal Studios and Disney World.

Today's weather was slightly cooler than yesterday, muggy, almost, and humid. But the wind moving through kept the weather moving along. A light layer of sunblock, a magazine and a popping chocolate later, her friends crowded in and they got ready in a shamble.

"Move, move, move." grumped Dix, her mood dampening the others.

Alex held back a snarky remark, knowing not to piss the redhead off. It seemed her visit to Medora, and with her parents, had not gone so well. Alex also knew that the King and Queen of Tryllin weren't exactly happy with their only daughter, heir to the throne, as quoted, 'Gallivanting off in Freya where she could be kidnapped'. Alex's argument had been 'Who knows she's the princess in Medora, apart from us?'

Still, they had the visits every two days, a promise for Alex, Jordan and Bear to protect her, even having to break the rule of not using their powers. Alex understood their concern, just she'd never really felt it when she was gallivanting around Earth with her parents.

The bus took them past Epcot, the crowds gathered there and the iconic big ball, then through some open fields, parking lots, and even a lake. Jordan was coaxing Dix into talking to him, Bear excitedly jabbering on about some activities in other parks. At 9:05, they arrived at Magic Kingdom, just a few minutes after opening, but there were people flooding the park's entrances already.

They took the monorail - an exhilarating, new experience for them, to the ferry. The water crashed at the boat which sailed smoothly through the water, sprays of water hitting Alex on her sneakers. They got off finding each other in the crowd when they saw each other. It took some guilty pushing to get into a spot of their own, finding a route to Space Mountain. They were currently on Main Street USA - a place bursting with colour and sound, aromas and people. A swirling dome that looked like the top of an ice cream in mind, the Core Four made their way down Main Street, occasionally distracted by the many opportunities given (food, merchandise, performers, just to name a few), reaching a giant roundabout surround by symmetrically placed bushes and hedges.

They swung right to Tomorrowland, the scenery significantly changed to sleek silver and white buildings, futuristic structures and a rail going around above them. Alex passed by a gigantic rocket, pronged yellow at the top and painted blue at the bottom. A strange looking contraption in the middle of Tomorrowland was a ride with twisting metal spires and planets painted different colours moved around a centre pole, people in tiny spaceships circulating around it.

Then, the majesty itself, Space Mountain, came into view. It didn't actually look like a mountain, more like the swirled top of an ice cream cone, pearly white and winking in the sun. They joined the fast track line, and Bear jokingly blew a kiss to the pass as they walked through ahead of the normal lane. Alex held back a laugh and Jordan and Bear pretended to praise the pass, and even crabby Dix held back a giggle.

The four of them snagged the first car, right at the front of the train. Alex and Jordan hopped into the front row, Dix and Bear in the back. The bar slammed down onto Alex's thighs and she almost jumped out of the roller coaster car. The worker at the side double checked the safety and Jordan flashed him a thumbs up.

In front of Alex, the tunnel's square lights started flashing brightly, and the car started to move forwards slowly. A siren wailed in the background as they turned the first curve. One second, they were trundling along, the next, she was yanked down into a giant drop, her head whipping around as the forces around the little car pulled them in gigantic drops, steep hills and turns as her head spun. The lines of colour switching colour whilst giant baubles of light bulbs blinked furiously.

Jordan screeched from next to her as the car sped up a hill, then let go as they plummeted down the steepest drop of them all. Alex had no time to catch her breath as they were thrown around a curve, G-Forces pounded at her neck and she finally yelled out in exhilaration.

A few heart-stopping turns and twists later, their train of cars chugged back to the start and Jordan exited to her right. Legs slightly wobbly, Alex stumbled out and collected her belongings. Jordan looked slightly sick, holding his stomach with a groan.

"I should not have eaten so much."

"I told you!" Alex laughed, feeling no mercy for her friend. "Did you listen? No."

Dix pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek, her mood already happier. "Don't throw up on me Sparkie."

He grinned back mischievously. "I can't promise you anything."

While the two were doing their lovey dovey stuff, Alex stood behind Jordan and mimicked gagging and throwing up. Bear did the same behind Dix, even going as far as climbing on a bench. They were a bit thirsty after the fast-paced ride, their eyes even hurting a little in the sunlight, so they retreated into a convenient shaded area designed like the interior of a spaceship.

Alex took a long draught of cold Sprite, leaning back to enjoy the cold taste.

"Hey, why don't we go watch some of the shows while Jordan's stomach calms down?" suggested Bear, tapping to a photo on his phone. Then his face stretched along with a wide, mischievous grin at his next words. "There are plenty more rides too. Then, I have an idea."

A/N: hey guys! So uh... I realised I was already going *insane*, ergo, I feel really bad doing this, but updates will be once a week for each story.

Mondays: moral of the story

Thursday: core four fun

Saturday: bonus day still (ninjago/tmc one shots, vacation, tales of tears and embers)

i uh feel bad doing this bus school is literally already so insane and busy and stuff at home's not doing so well, writing is one of my escapes, but unfortunately i can't spend this much time on it. HOWEVER, this change does mean quality>quantity, chapters might be longer, even. I know this chapter is a bit shorter, but with school and assessments coming, they'll be about 1000-1500 words, maybe a little over depending on my school schedule. Hope you enjoy, and you'll find out Bear's plan next thursday :)
