Brendon's POV

The next morning, I wake up and I'm still against Dallon's chest. My body feels sticky and gross, and I whine a little quietly as I shift a bit.
I feel Dallon's hand on my back, and when I look up at him, I see that he's already up, and he's lazily smiling down at me. I giggle softly and I lean up and kiss his lips for a few seconds as I sit up all the way, grimacing at the feeling of my body.
"C-Can we t-take a s-shower?" I ask, and Dallon nods gently and he kisses my cheek, moving a bit and setting me down so that I'm now on my knees on the bed.
"Do you wanna get some clothes, and I can go and get the shower started for us baby?" He asks, and I nod a bit as I get up and go over to our dresser. Dallon walks into the bathroom, and I hear the water start running.
I grab my black top and my red skirt, as well as a hoodie and jeans for Dallon. I run back into the bathroom and I quickly lay the clothes on the counter, and I turn to the shower, seeing that Dallon was already in it.
I pull the curtain back and step in, shuddering a little as the warm stream of water hits my back.
Dallon smiles and he pulls me closer to him, so that I was against his chest. I giggle softly and lay my head down, suddenly feeling really relaxed.
We took a quick shower, and I got rid of the stickiness that my body felt all over.
Once we dried off and fixed our hair a bit, we got dressed and then we walked back into our bedroom before heading into the living room. I slid across the hallway floor since I had also decided to grab some black knee high socks. I hear Dallon laugh a little and shake his head as we make it into the living room. I collapsed against the couch, and I giggled more as I looked up at Dallon.
Tyler and Josh, from what I could hear, were in the kitchen and Ryan was on the other couch, scrolling through his phone. He looked a bit bored to say the least, but I didn't question him or anything.
As Dallon sits down next to me, Tyler and Josh also come into the living room, flopping down on the couch. I giggle as Dallon pulls me into his lap, and I lean back into him and I kiss his cheek sweetly. He smiles and he kisses at my neck, making me giggle since it tickles a bit.
"So how was your swimming yesterday?" Tyler asks, and he looks up at me and Dallon.
"It was good, the water was cool so it was really nice, actually," Dallon says, and Tyler nods his head. Josh smiles, and I notice that Ryan has finally set his phone down and he's now looking up at us.
"So Bren, what's it like under the water? Like what's down there? Is it like the lost city of Atlantis?" Josh asks me, and I giggle a bit when he mentions "the lost city of Atlantis".
"I-It's just how y-you think i-it is.. it's r-really dark, a-and kinda sc-scary some n-nights. But wh-when its d-day time, it's c-crystal clear! Theres r-really nothing a-around the bottom, b-besides a few things of c-coral, but th-they aren't very in-interesting. If you're l-lucky, y-you might f-find some sea an-animals," I explain to them, making sure they understand everything.
"Aw, so no Atlantis?" Josh asks, and I shake my head no, giggling. "As f-far as I kn-know there i-isn't," I reply.
Josh huffs and lays back, Tyler nudging his arms gently.
It goes back and forth like this for a while, all of them just asking me questions about where I was from, the people, or merfolk, that I knew, where I stayed, and what it was like down in the ocean. I answered all of their questions to the best of my abilities as I played with my skirt.
"Hey, Bee?" Tyler suddenly says, and I nod my head a bit as I wait for him to go on with his question.
"Do you happen to know how old you are?" He eventually questions, and I hum a little, but I end up nodding my head gently as I look over at him.
"Mhm! I-I'm s-seventeen, my b-birthday is in A-April! At l-least, I th-think so," I reply, and I giggle softly and shrug a bit. I had been told it was in April, but who was I to trust Atlas?
"Ah.. you're seventeen, I see.." Tyler says, but then suddenly his eyes go wide, and I hear Dallon almost choke a little. "W-Wait, you're seventeen?!"
I slowly nod my head, not even being sure of my own answer anymore. I cock my head in confusion as I looked at all of them, their eyes a bit wide, and it just seemed like they were in shock. Was it something I said?

I had stolen Josh's coffee a second ago, and now I was choking on it. I coughed, staring at Brendon.
"You're seventeen!" Ryan exclaimed. "Emphasis on teen!"
Brendon looked at all of our faces, staring at me. "D-Dally? Wh-what's wrong?"
I put my head in my hands, taking deep breaths. I'd never asked him how old he was, I had always guessed he was my age. How could I have been so stupid?
"D-Dally, you're s-scaring me." My boyfriend whimpered, rubbing my shoulder trying to get my attention. "D-Dallon, please."
I sighed, sitting back up. "Holy shit."
Ryan nodded. "Holy shit is right!" I looked at him, trying to get some reassurance from my best friend. He had had a lot of "holy shit" moments, so I needed him right now to give me advice on this.
"Okay...hold up." Josh said. "I gotta do the math."
"Math? Why's there gotta be math!?" I exclaimed. "I screwed up big time!"
Brendon held onto my arm. "D-Dallon, what d-did you sc-screw up?" I could only shake my head and close my eyes, hoping that this could all be over.
"Yep, six year age difference." Josh said, holding up his phone to show off his math skills. "Dal, you're twenty-three right?" I nodded, feeling Brendon tug at my hoodie.
"S-six years? A-are you older th-than me?" He asked. I nodded again and he smiled. "O-older guys a-are nice...wh-why're you u-upset though?"
"He's upset cause you're a minor." Tyler butted in. "Legally you're an adult when you're eighteen." Brendon cocked his head to the side in confusion.
"I had sex with a minor." I muttered to myself. "I had sex with a teenager."
"Okay, but Brendon said his birthday's in April, that's not too far away!" Josh said. "But yeah, it sounds bad when you say it like that."
Brendon curled up on my lap, pulling my head down to make me look at him. "W-was I n-not supposed t-to have s-sex with you?" He asked quietly. "D-did I m-mess up?"
"I need air." I said, gently pushing Brendon away. I ran out the back door, and down the porch steps till my feet hit the sand. I didn't know if I should yell at myself or cry, I still loved Brendon like crazy, but he was a teenager! He would be in high school if he had always been a human.
I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and I saw Tyler, I hadn't expected him, but anyone right now was okay. "Hey, I know you're upset."
"No shit." I muttered, turning to him. "He's basically a kid still! I might've ruined his life! He's a minor, Ty! A minor! And I," I lowered my voice a little. "And I had sex with him, I made him my boyfriend, I...I don't know what to do."
Tyler pulled me into a sudden and tight hug. "You didn't ruin his life, Dal, he loves you like crazy. Yeah he's a minor, but he won't be in a couple months!"
He pulled away, looking me in the eyes. "You didn't know your age gap and you both didn't care, you both fell in love cause you were meant to fall in love. As much as it weirds me out, I know that your kisses and your very loud rounds of sex every night aren't ruining his life...you got a good one, Dal, and he's only a couple years younger than you."
"I didn't know you could give me a pep talk like that, Ty." I laughed, hugging him again. "Thanks, that made me feel a bit better."
"No problem, and we should finish this up before this turns into a romcom." Tyler laughed.
"Hey, Ty? Should I stop being lovey to Brendon until he turns eighteen? I don't know if he'll still want me to, y'know?"
"If he wants to, but my guess is he'll still want you and all of your...activities." Tyler said, raising one of his eyebrows, smirking at me.
I rolled my eyes and smiled. "We could technically get married now I think, age wise."
"Woah, we're talking marriage?" Tyler asked. "You really have a plan here, Mr. I don't think I should act like I love my boyfriend."
I punched his arm lightly. "Oh shut up, I've just been thinking about it a little, no need to make it a big deal." Tyler nodded, chuckling softly under his breath.
I glanced over to the beach, watching the waves crash onto the sand methodically. Tyler looked over too, leaning against the handrails next to the porch stairs. "Hey, I think you should stay together with Bren, age gap or no."
"I don't wanna break up with him! He's my love, my everything." I said, seeing Tyler not even gag surprising me. "We've trusted each other so much, I can't crush him like that by leaving him."
"You're really corny and cheesy, but you make some good points and it's kinda sweet." He said. "Anything else you wanna talk about?"
I thought for a second, then shook my head. "No, not really, I mean, there's always stuff we can talk about, just it's gonna be irrelevant."
Tyler shrugged and nodded. "Yeah I get it." He said. "Hey can Bren swim in pool water? Like in chlorine?"
"I honestly have no clue, if he doesn't change into a merman, I think he'll be fine." I said. "I'm not sure though...oh shit."
"What's wrong?" Tyler asked, as I clambered up the stairs, grabbing the railings next to him. "Hey! Dallon, chill! What's the matter?"
"Bren might've thought I left him, I gotta make sure he's okay." I gasped out, running up the stairs, tripping over my own feet. I grabbed the sliding glass door handle and wrenched it open, not caring that I had sand on my feet, all I really cared about was making sure Brendon was okay.
