Brendon's POV

I whimper and cling to Dallon. My breathing had become ragged since the lights turned off, and I was terrified.
I hear Dallon sigh a little, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm latching onto him, or because of the lights turning back off. I slowly let go of him, scared that it's the first option. I whimper and wrap my arms around myself as I feel Dallon sit up.
"Baby, you don't have to let go of me, c'mere, I'm right here darling," I hear Dallon say, and suddenly his arms are around me and I'm being pulled to his chest.
I latch onto him and I hide my face in Dallon's neck, my hands trying to grip at something, and I settle on his shoulders since he doesn't have his shirt on. I whimper and I feel myself start to shake.
I was used to storms yes, because the water always got rough but I wasn't used to witnessing them on land, they were a whole lot louder, and much scarier. I could hear the loud claps of thunder, and I could see the bright flashes of lightning as they lit up the sky.
"D-Dally.." I say, and I try to latch onto him more.
"Shh, baby, it's okay I swear I'm right here.." Dallon says, and he runs his fingers through my hair, his touch soothing and sweet.
I hear a crashing noise come from the hallway, and suddenly Josh is standing at our door with a light in his hands. I whimper, and I feel Dallon pick me up as he moves to stand.
"So.. yeah.. this happened," Josh says, and he laughs a little breathily as he shines the light our way, most likely so Dallon could see to walk.
"Yeah.. it did and it's not fun either," Dallon replies, and he laughs a little himself.
Suddenly, there's another roll of thunder, and my body tenses up, and I let out a soft cry. Dallon kisses my temple, and he murmurs soft things to me as I try to grab onto him more even though it's not even possible.
"Oh, Bren.." I hear Josh say, and he reaches forward and he gently rubs my back as I hide my face in Dallon's neck more. "It's okay bud, we're all here and everything's gonna be okay. The power will be back on before you know it."
I feel Dallon start to walk again, and when I move my head a little I see that we're walking down the hallway, most likely going to the living room.
When we get in there, I see that Tyler and Ryan have set up candles and they have lights like Josh's as well. It kind of reminds me of when I see the little fish that almost glow in the ocean, and it's actually kinda pretty.
"So are we just gonna hang out? I mean we can't do anything till-," Josh begins to say, but then it thunders again, and it starts to rain harder. You could also hear the waves crashing against the land, since the water was so rough.
"-the power comes back," Josh continues, laughing a little.
"D-Dally," I say, almost more urgently as I started to feel tears come to my eyes.
I was scared, and I just wanted the lights to come on so Dallon and I could watch the tv in our room and go to bed, that's all I really asked for. I could hear the rain heavily pounding down against the top of the house and I shook more, closing my eyes tightly as I tried to forget what was happening.
Dallon's POV

I hated seeing Brendon so scared, if I could turn the lights on myself I would. I held my boyfriend tighter in my arms, as he clung to my neck, whimpering.
"Okay, guys, we need a plan." Josh said. "Are we sure we didn't blow a fuse or something?"
Ryan shook his head. "It's the storm, this happens from time to time, it's just the new normal."
"Okay, so, we just stay here till the power comes back on." Josh said. "We can do that...um...Ryan?"
"Yes?"
"How long is the power usually out for?" Josh asked. I could see that Tyler was holding onto his boyfriend's arm, I remembered that Tyler had never really liked thunder storms, and they made him anxious.
"Depends on how long the storm will be, I don't know." Ryan said. "Maybe an hour or so? Best case scenario, the power turns on before I have to worry about the AC and the stuff in the freezer melting."
Ryan was one of those people who needed to analyze every little thing, so right now I could tell he was starting to freak out a little. "Hey, the power's gone off before, it won't be that bad." I said, trying to calm everyone, including myself down.
Another roll of thunder nearly shook the house, and Brendon let out a small scream, his nails digging into my skin. I clenched my jaw, trying to give no response to the pain.
"Hey, Brendon, it's okay." Josh said. "Thunderstorms are cool! Also the lighting is kinda pretty." Brendon nodded a little, not lifting his head up.
"Josh?" Tyler said in almost a whisper, tugging his boyfriend's hair gently. "I have bracelet making stuff in our room, we can do that."
Josh smiled a little. "That's a great idea, Ty, do you want me to come with you?"
"Yeah I do! And you'd better not try to scare me or leave, or I'll kill you." Tyler said, holding Josh's hand. Josh smiled, kissing the top of Tyler's hand, lacing their fingers together.
"We'll be back in a minute, guys." Josh said, as he and Tyler walked down the hallway, their phone lights pointed to the ground so they didn't trip over anything.
My arms were beginning to ache, so I knelt down to put Brendon down. He whimpered more, holding onto me. "D-Dally!"
"I'm here, baby, I'm right here." I said softly, turning my phone's flashlight on, setting it on the floor. I sat against the wall, pulling Brendon on top of me, his legs wrapped around my waist.
"M-make it s-stop." Brendon whimpered. "P-please make it s-stop."
"I can't, sweetie, if I could I would." I said, brushing his bangs out of his eyes. "We're safe, okay? You're not gonna get hurt, I'm not gonna get hurt, neither are Ryan, Tyler, or Josh."
Brendon sniffled, looking down at my phone. He pouted a little, moving his hand over the small light coming from the phone. He put his hand over it, then took it off. "H-how is it s-still there?"
"It's....uh....it just is." I said, holding my phone up, making a very simple shadow puppet with my hand. Brendon giggled a little more, resting his head on my shoulder. Ryan watched us, then made a really cool looking rabbit shadow. He was always better at that kind of thing, and it made me kinda jealous, but now wasn't the time.
"Okay, baby, put your hands together and link your thumbs." I explained, as I tried to teach Brendon how to make a bird shadow. "There you go, darling, now move your fingers a little."
Brendon giggled more. "It-it's a b-bird!" I nodded, rubbing his sides gently. He was more calm, and that was much better for me.
"We found the bracelet stuff!" Josh called, walking over. We all heard a loud wham, and then Josh was on the floor. "Son of a biscuit that hurt like heck! Oh gosh, that freaking stings."
Ryan and I laughed at Josh's made up curse words, as Tyler went to check on his boyfriend. "You good? You can walk, right? I can't freaking carry you, Josh."
"I'm fine." Josh groaned, rolling over. "Why did we put a table there?"
"Cause it's my house and it looks nice." Ryan said. "And all this is reminding me of summer camp...oh shit."
"Wh-what's wrong?" Brendon asked, holding onto me tighter.
"Oh shit, shit, shit, shit, shitty, shit, shit." Ryan muttered, standing up and going into the kitchen. "HEY GUYS?"
"YEAH?"
"I HAVE ICE CREAM THAT'S STARTING TO FUCKING MELT!"
"So?" Tyler asked, standing up. "We'll just eat it, did you think of that, Ryan? There're five of us, we can take down a few tubs of ice cream."
"Good point, I have chocolate and strawberry, boring I know."
"Just bring it in here, we all like those." I said, turning back to Brendon. "Just so you know, ice cream is kinda cold, but it's sweet and it tastes really good."
Brendon nodded, as he fingered the strings on the floor that Tyler had brought in. "Th-this is pretty." He said, holding up a scarlet thread.
"It is really pretty, honey." I said, as Ryan and Tyler sat back down, two containers of ice cream in the middle of what looked like a cult circle.
Tyler picked up some of the strings, and began trying them together, starting to make a bracelet.
"T-Ty?" Brendon asked softly, Tyler's head shooting up to look at him.
"Yeah? What's up, man?" Tyler asked, driving a spoon into the ice cream.
"C-can you t-teach me h-how to do th-that?" He asked, pointing to the strings in Tyler's hand.
"Yeah sure! It's pretty simple for the most part, except when you have to knot it, and Dallon can do that for you." Tyler said.
I kept my hands on Brendon's waist, rubbing his hips slowly as Tyler explained bracelet making to him. I thought that I'd hate the power being out, and I kinda did, but this was really fun, and I had the best friends in the world to help calm my boyfriend down. Also, Ryan had gotten the good ice cream, which made things even better.
