After-endings: BFS

This After-ending is the latest addition to the Clayton Fanficts I obsessively scribble. I am not a stalker, I am a Devoted Narrative Enthusiast!  LOL!  This is for all my Lovely wildflower friends and our moon goddess, Whiskeyqueenn. A short jaunt into Clayton's world with a tiptoe into Tommie's world from His Alpha.  Anyway, this one's for Rachelle who has had a rough few weeks because I love her to bits.

Clayton sat in his office, looking through the piles of paperwork and mountain of regulations for the new farm and winery he and his new Beta, Tommie, were planning for Adams Pack. The pencil in his hand drummed as he thought about the cost and profit margins, and about the venture's main investor. She wasn't her, he reminded himself again. Hazel reminded him and everyone of it often enough, but the resemblance was haunting. If he had not known that wolves could only have children with their mates, he would have sworn the beautiful auburn haired she-wolf was Kennedy's half-sister and he wasn't the only one. Everyone in the pack and even Kennedy's true mate, Cash Valentine, had been awed by the resemblance. He wondered what Cora would think.

She and Caleb were bringing back two loads of custom barrels made by the Big Sky Lumber Mill, and the wood to make the large casks to age the new wine in. Cora had even offered to let them use Big Sky's distribution network. Clayton really did believe she would do anything to help him succeed. Tommie had been gobsmacked to find out Clayton's former Beta female was the Luna of the giant pack that spanned from Montana into Canada. Clayton rubbed the spot over his heart, thinking about Cora always brought thoughts of Rya and Kennedy and all he had lost. His text message chimed.

Meet us out front, almost there: Cora

And bring a gas mask, Caleb had tacos and green chili: Cora

Clayton shook off his melancholy and put all the paperwork away, except the ones he needed Cora to sign. He half-smiled at all the times they had done paperwork, his mother would be proud of them still working together after all that they had been through. The rumble of diesel trucks had Clayton, sticking his head into Cora's former office.

"They're here. "

Tommie was sitting at his desk, scowling over something. He stood up and smoothed his shirt. He had dressed in business casual to meet Cora Kincaid. Her Pie in the Sky brand had hit the market by storm and become the most talked about organic pie filling, jams, canned fruits, syrups and sauces in the world, with sales in Australia, Europe, and China. Standing on the porch next to Alpha Clayton, he wondered what she was really like. Clayton had told him how they had hated each other growing up but now they seemed like best friends. A semitruck pulled up and stopped. A tall, broad chest, blonde man in a cowboy hat stepped out. Tommie gaped at the beautiful specimen, the alpha wolf looked like a god in worn wranglers and button up western shirt.

"Alpha Matt," Clayton greeted, and they hugged in a manly way. "I was expecting Mark."

"Mark's in the dog house and Cora's got him on a short lead. She made him stay home to do all her pack paperwork," Matt chuckled. "And if it's not done, he's spending the winter with Shotgun in the barn."

Clayton laughed, "What did he do?"

"Let's just say, he took advantage of Cora's visit to see Rya's new pup and she won't be borrowing your cabin to hide out for her next heat," Matt revealed.

Clayton's jaw dropped, "Again? How many pups does he expect her to have?"

Matt snorted, "As many as he and their wolves can trick her into having."

Tommie cleared his throat and Clayton introduced him, "Matt, this is my Beta Tommie, the wolf with the plan."

Matt shook his hand firmly and Tommie's wolf wanted to cower at the power he felt, but Matt smiled without teeth in a very genuine way. "It's nice to finally meet the person Clay and Cora spend so much time talking about."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Alpha Kincaid." Tommie answered in a level voice.

There was the distant sound of a smaller diesel engine and a large dually pickup hauling a tarped trailer pulled up and parked. Clayton walked over and opened the driver's side door then a busty brunette fell out into his arms. He held her like a bride as she dramatically pretended to be dying. His face twisted into a scowl.

"I can't breathe," She wheezed as the passenger door slammed.

Caleb Valentine stormed around the front of the truck as Clayton started to berate him, "Goddess, Caleb, what did you eat!?! It smells like something died in there."

"My nose... my nose died." The female pretended to weep, and then Clayton burst out laughing.

"I love his shirt." Clayton chortled and Matt chuckled.

To Tommie, Matt revealed, "Cora had that shirt made special for Caleb. She makes him wear it at least once a week."

Caleb gave the alpha such a baleful glare as Tommie read the teeshirt with a picture of a skunk.

"My Spirit Animal Is A Fart Squirrel"

Tommie almost choked on his laughter, as Cora hopped out of Clayton's arms, giggling. She popped open the snaps on her denim shirt revealing a teeshirt with the same picture but different words stretch across her perky d-cups.

"I'm with Beta Fart Squirrel"

Clayton read her shirt and began laughing so hard, he had to wipe tears from his green eyes.  "Oh, I want one of those."

Cora grinned at him and pulled a bag out of the truck. "Wish granted! I had one made for you too. But you might have to wash it before you wear it, his butt stench is clinging to everything since he had that green chili."

Caleb pulled on his dreads in frustration, "It isn't my fault! Tommie, tell them it isn't my fault."

Tommie looked at Caleb and shook his head, "Dude, I share a bathroom with you. The smells that came out of that ass aren't normal, you should see a doctor." Then he turned and held out his hand, "I'm Tommie."

Cora smiled beautifully then hugged him. "I'm Cora, since you have my old job, you're family now. So where are all the vines planted and where do you want us to un... oh my goddess..." Cora gasped as she panted in shock. "When you told me... I thought you were kidding."

She pushed past them and walked cautiously to the steps where Kennedy's living doppelganger stood on the porch, eyeing her wearily. Cora held out her hand, "Hi, I'm Cora."

The red head rolled her eyes and answered in a droll tone. "Hazel. And sorry for you loss, Kennedy will be missed."

Cora laughed until she snorted, "Oh honey, I won't miss her, I hated her. She was my enemy and the only regret I have in my life is that Cash got to kill her father instead of me. Let's start again. " Cora held out her hand a second time, "Luna Cora Kincaid, Big Sky Pack and Pie in the Sky Foods."

"Ahhh," Hazel said slowly and shook Cora's hand. "You're the other investor. Nice to meet a woman who built her own brand." Then she looked over Cora's shoulder, and smiled in a way that took all the males' breaths away, "Hello, Alpha Kincaid."

Matt tipped his hat to her, "Miss Hazel. It's been too long."

Hazel looked him up and down with a lazy smile, "Yes, it has." Before she turned her attention back to Cora, "So, how do you know Cash?"

"Well, other than he took my kill, was mated to my enemy, and I repeated threatened to maim his brothers, especially the fart squirrel. These..." Cora bounced her breast up and down once. "Tend to turn into udders every time I have a pup, I am the primary donor to the Western Branch of his Milk for Pups Charity."

"Oh nice, I always write that charity a big check. He's a lovely wolf," Hazel said softly.

"He is," Cora agreed.

They were silent for a moment, then Tommie cleared his throat, "Um... Luna Cora, Alpha Matt. Would you like to see the Vines and the Winery?"

Alpha Matt nodded, and waved for Tommie to climb into the semitruck. "Just show us where you want to park, son, and after, maybe Cora could make us all dinner." He pointed at Caleb. "You ride with her."

Hazel climbed in before Tommie, much to both Matt and Tommie's surprise but neither said anything as the big truck pulled away from the Pack House Offices.

Cora hooked her arm in Clayton's. "So, your favorite for dinner, Alpha?"

Clayton grinned at her. "That would be lovely, Luna."

Caleb pouted, "How come you never offer to cook my favorite?"

"Because they are all your favorite." Cora rolled her eyes then Clayton taunted, "And when it comes out, it all smells the same, Beta Fart Squirrel."

Cora giggled and Clayton chuckled at Caleb's offended look as they climbed in the Big Sky Dually. Directing Cora to the new building surrounded by acres of grape vines, and listening to Cora and Caleb snark at each other, Clayton felt something he hadn't felt in a long time. The nagging emptiness and fear that he would spend his life alone seemed to retreat a little and he felt hope. He felt like he was finally headed to where he was supposed to be.

Just to egg Caleb on, he pulled his new teeshirt out of its gift bag and stripped out of his button down, before pulling the teeshirt that matched his eyes over his head.  "I like the color."

Cora reached over and pretended to dust off his shoulder. "Oh yes, that fits just fine."

"I hate you both," Caleb groaned, and they laughed.

It was good to be an Alpha, a Luna, and a Beta Fart Squirrel.
