First Afternoon - II
"Viktor? You in there?" Viktoria's muffled voice asked outside the wooden door.
Viktor, who was blinking rapidly to bring back his eyesight, could only look up at the tanned male above him. The complete look of bliss was apparent on Ruby's face, but he quickly answered Viktor's sister.
"Actually, I'm in here," he called out, his husky voice echoing around the bathroom. He leaned towards Viktor, a smile tugging at his lips. "And so is your brother."
As the words settled into the air, Viktor's mind registered what he had said. His eyes widened before he pushed Ruby off of him, the scalding hot water sloshing over the edge of the tub.
"What are you doing?!" Viktor hissed, his pale eyes shaking as he stared at Ruby in complete and utter fear. The Vietnamese boy's smile dropped as quickly as it appeared, a look of confusion and hurt slowly forming on his face.
"I'm sorry, did you say Viktor was in there?" Viktoria's voice questioned.
"What's wrong with telling the truth?" Ruby asked, perplexed by his outburst.
"You can't tell her!" Viktor whisper-screamed, dread filling his bones. He stood up from the tub, the shyness of showing his naked body being overshadowed by the fear he felt.
"Wow," Ruby breathed, his eyes locked on Viktor's pale yet toned body. Quickly grabbing a towel, Viktor covered his lower half. His sharp glare silenced Ruby, blonde strands of hair causing a shadow on his face.
"Ruby? Is Viktor in there?"
"Tell her no," Viktor muttered through clenched teeth.
"Nah," Ruby responded.
Half a second passed like an eternity as Viktor blinked in disbelief.
"What?"
"What?"
Ruby raised an eyebrow as both of the twins spoke the same word at the same time, one shouted and the other whispered.
"I said no," Ruby said louder, his eyes focused on Viktor. The blonde gaped at him, his pink lips parted in confusion before he realized he was speaking to Viktoria.
"Oh, okay! I'll leave you be!" Viktoria shouted, her footsteps retracing back down the steps.
Viktor slumped against the bathroom counter, letting go of a breath he was holding.
"Thank you—"
"Why don't you want her to know about us?"
Viktor snapped his head up to see Ruby staring at him darkly, still sitting in the tub. The way he said "us" lingered in the air, slowly taking effect on the blonde.
"I—I'm not...sure," Viktor whispered, his voice weak with uncertainty. Shaking his head, the tanned boy stood up from the now cold water, stepping out towards Viktor. The blonde quickly took in a breath as he got closer, stopping a few inches away from him.
"Can you move?" Ruby asked lowly, dark eyes burning holes into his soul. Viktor blinked before quickly sidestepping Ruby. The Vietnamese boy bent down to grab a towel from the cabinet, drying his hair and shoulders before wrapping it around his waist.
Viktor simply stared at him, not quite sure what to say.
"Ruby," Viktor decided on, reaching out a hand. He had said something wrong.
Instead, Ruby ignored his advances, grabbing his clothing off the ground.
"I'm going to change first."
Viktor stared after him as he left the bathroom, taking the warmth of the room with him.
