Chapter 13 [not edited]
Chapter 13: that's because you have me, dumbass.
I was thinking of turning back and going home, telling Taylor that I had plans and was busy. But who am I kidding, who else would I hang out with? I mean, my friends are Jake, Brit, Zoe, Trent [well I guess he's a friend] and my family members.
I was suppose to get an extra day of thinking this through! but no, because Taylor decided to talk to me today.
I was less than a minute away from the park, then I stopped walking. What if he told me that the kiss wasn't meant to happen? that it meant nothing to him? Get it together, Summer!
I started dragging my feet towards the park. Reluctantly, I reached the park and saw Taylor sitting there.
I'll admit, he looked freaking cute. He wore a pair of jeans and a band tee shirt, All Time Low. C'mon how will someone not find that cute? He had a navy blue beanie and he was sat there, using his phone.
I moved one step forward and I heard a piece of dried leave crush under my feet and Taylor heard that too. His head springed up and looked around, then finally making eye contact with me. I could see he had a small smile on his face and gestured me to walk to him.
I was stood still to the ground. Many many more questions rushing through my brain. He saw that I wasn't moving and frowned.
"we're going to have to talk about somehow you know? and I'd rather do it here than in school." he stated.
"Fine..." I muttered, walking towards him and plopping into the bench.
"I want to show you something..." he said suspiciously, totally changing the topic about the kiss in a split second.
"what?"
"c'mon" he said, standing up and reaching his hand down to grab mine.
Even when I got up, he still left his hand there. His hold sent tingles throughout my body and a shiver down my spine. His hand was really, really warm. I never wanted him to let go. It looked right just there. Okay, maybe it was just me being a hopeless romantic. I looked up at him, seeing him smiling as he looked ahead.
I continued letting him guide me, until an amazing view came about. Honestly, most people would think that it was just a simple place, but to me, I saw birds chirping happily, the smell of fresh flowers invading my nose, and the greenery bringing peace to me. It was an a abandoned part of the park, almost connected to a jungle or forest. The tall trees standing out from the short little grass and dandelions.
I picked up a dandelion, and blew the hundreds of small florets, watching as the wind carried them away.
Immediately, I took out my phone, snapping a close-up picture of it. Then, snapping a photo of the whole view, proceeding with a panorama of the place.
"do you take pictures everywhere you go?" he asked amused.
"well yeah, it's kind of a natural thing..." I stated.
"nice! so do you develop them? or post them on something?"
I thought about telling Taylor my top secret instagram account, but honestly? I shouldn't, it's not the right time I guess.
Summer, it's an instagram account, not a freaking murder.
Shut up brain, I can think whatever I want to think.
That's because you have me, dumbass.
Whatever...
Deciding that I might as well tell Teylor, I shrugged and said, "I have instagram..."
"really? what is it?"
I handed him my phone, in which already had instagram open, he typed in something, probably his usename and passed it back to me.
"I expect a follow back," I teased.
"anything for you" he grinned.
That made my heart soar. His grin was, oh god, some one help me. It should be illegal to be that cute man! He doesn't even have to try!
I do realise that we weren't talikng about the kiss, but this was so much better than that awkward talk.
Suddenly, I felt raindrops lightly hitting my skin and the ground. It was not full on raining, but more or a slight drizzle. It was relaxing, but then I remembered about my phone.
"is your house closer to the park?" I asked.
"yeah why?"
"can we go?"
"sure" he smiled.
We entered his house not long after and I looked around. He had picture frames around too, and a really big chandelier in the middle of the living room. It was elegant and classy. White wall, and a black couch, along with a wooden coffee table.
"can I leave my phone here?" I asked.
"sure... but can you tell me what we're doing?" he asked, curious.
"something fun!" I grinned, taking off my not so wet flannel so that when the rain drenches me when it gets heavier, I'll at least have something dry to cover up.
"wow wow! what are you doing?! why are you stripping?" he asked, horrified.
"relax! we're going to have fun in the rain and after getting drenched I'd like something dry, now wouldn't I?" I said, rolling my eyes.
After putting our important stuff in Taylor's house, I ran out and twirled around on the pavement, letting the raindrops pelt on my skin. Taylor just watched in amusement and came to join me. We dance sillily in the rain, until he twirled me around and pulled me close.
I stared into his deep brown eyes. It was cold, but his touch made everything feel warm. His hands were on my waist and my were on looped around his neck. Our foreheads were touching and my eys flickered to look down at his very, very kissable lips, raindrops dripping off them. They just looked so inviting. He much have seen this as he smiled and lick the upper part of his lips, teasing me.
We didn't kiss though, all we did was look into each other's eyes, in which his was like the night sky. Here I was, standing in my crush's arms, looking into my crush's eyes. If you told me that Taylor Channing is an ideal crush, I would be laughing my ass off, but now, I can see why.
As the rain got heavier and heavier, our hair got drenched, along with our clothes, shoes and faces. There was no thunder or lightning though, which was a good sign cause I'd wish to see at least 40 years old.
"Summer Grace Frerri, will you be my girlfriend?" he whispered, locking eyes with me and breaking the peaceful silence, as the rain dripped down our cheeks and chin.
