4: It's For You To Cool Off

Chapter 4: It's For You To Cool Off

"Could you pass the salt?" Britney asked me, looking at me innocently.

"It's right there," I gave her a flat look. Literally, it was within an arm's reach.

"But could you pass it to me?" she said, annoyance filled her voice.

"No."

Aunt Meg nudged me and gave me a deathly glare. All I did was smile innocently at her.

"Here, sweetie," Aunt Meg said, passing her the salt.

She smiled at my aunt. Aunt Meg's too nice for her own good at points.

"Okay! I think we're all thirsty, Summer can you take out the lemonade." Aunt Meg said, turning to me with a smile; a smile I knew was for show when inside she was dying to give me a talk on manners.

"I'm not your maids," I muttered but stood up anyways.

I walked to the fridge, taking out the lemonade and pouring them into glasses and placing them on a tray.

I walked towards the table, grabbing a glass and putting it down when Britney beside me, decided to stand up, excusing herself to go to the toilet. It happened so fast, there were a bunch of words, along the lines of careful! being shouted, with an ear piercing scream and hysterical laughter.

The warnings were from the adults, excluding Vince. The laughter was from Zoe, Vince and I while the scream was obviously from Britney.

The lemonade had spilled all over her.

"You bitch! You did that on purpose!" she exclaimed.

"Language!" Mr Posey warned. He's one of my favourite person now.

"But daddy..." she pouted, pulling the 'good girl' stunt on him.

"Looks like it's for you to cool off," I said smirking as Zoe, Vince and I laughed even harder while Aunt Meg glared at me, along with Britney.

If looks can kill, I'd be dea-

Nope, her 'death glare' isn't really deadly.

Britney went home to change while Mr and Mrs Posey said they were sorry as to how the dinner ended. They either didn't hear my comment or chose to ignore it. Mr and Mrs Posey were nice people, I just don't know how or why Britney turned out this way. And finally, the Posey's left.

"Summer Grace Frerri! What kind of attitude was that?" Aunt Meg demanded. angrily.

"Oh! it was the you're-a-bitch-and-hate-you kind of attitude," I said, smiling innocently.

Aunt Meg glared at my use of words and shook her head, walking away, completely frustrated and furious.

Well that was a splendid dinner. Sarcasm again. Anyways, Zoe was sleeping over today. We planned to stay up late, watching more horror movies and looking like shit when we go to school.

~~~~~
"Guys! wake up!" Aunt Meg exclaimed.
I opened my eyes, shutting it immediately as the sunlight burned my eyes. Groaning, I sat up, shaking Zoe a little. Her skin felt hot under my skin, innuendo much? I touched her forehead, only to realise that she was burning up. Oh boy, she's definitely not going to school today, meaning I'll have to face whatever Britney decided to do to me alone.
After going through all my morning routines and throwing on some clothes, I rushed downstairs, getting Zoe an ice pack for her forehead. Then, I made breakfast for myself and Vince, Aunt Meg already driving to work.
I'm not going to lie, but the house smelled amazing. Why? Because I totally stirred up the best waffles in the world. Not really, but they were nice waffles. That's practically all I can cook, other than the basic chicken soup, pasta, toast and stuff like that.
"Breakfast!" I screamed for Vince.
"Coming!" he shouted back.
Sure enough, few seconds later he came down. We ate in silence but I noticed how he kept smiling at his phone. Aw, someone has a someone. I also noticed what time it is so I finished up my last bits of waffles. Like I said, they were nice. I put my plate into the sink, grabbing my backpack and side-hugging Vince.
"Bye! Do the dishes!" I said, walking out the door before he could before he could even respond.
This is how I get out of doing the dishes.
~~~~~

It was lunchtime. School today is horrible. I was so close to actually eating in the non-existent janitor's closet. But I was hungry, so I decided to actually go to the cafeteria and listen to some songs while eating alone.

As I was enjoying my oh-so-amazing food [not], someone pulled out my ear piece.

"What the f-" I stopped once I saw who was standing in front of me.

This may come as a shocker, hah sarcasm once again. But Britney was standing in front of me with her posse and Taylor's hand hanging loosely over her shoulder.

"My my, what a pleasure! Mr and Mrs Popularity, would you like a seat? Maybe a cup of tea and some macaroons?" I said, sarcasm leaking through my mouth as I rolled my eyes.

Taylor chuckled, earning a glare from Britney. You could tell her posse wanted to laugh, but of course that'd make Britney very angry.

I know, I was a funny person.

"Actually yes, I do want to talk," she spoke.

"I'm pretty sure your whole posse won't fit this table, how 'bout you try the zoo? Have you tried that? Besides, that way you get to meet all your other friends. Actually, do you even have friends?" I mentally gave myself a pat on the back as I watched her mouth turn into a scrowl.

Britney gave me another one of her death glares, well at least, what she thought was deadly.

"Do you need another drink spilt on you? Cause you're flaring up, I think you need to cool off."

Again, the glare came and she sat down, along with Taylor. She gestured to her posse to leave us alone.

"No friend today, aye?" She asked, smirking and finally recovering from the whole 'death glare' thing.

"Yeah, your madness drove her to sickness."

4 points for Summer, none for Britney.

"Why not you come sit with us?" Taylor finally spoke.

"Oh! you can speak? Damn!" I said.

"Ha ha, very funny," he gave me a flat look, which told me he wasn't very amused with my sarcasm.

"What are you doing?!" Britney screeched.

"I think I made it pretty clear," Taylor replied.

Taylor stood up, Britney as well, and gestured for me to come. As if I will.

"Fine." That's all Taylor said as he left.

Not a few minutes later, Taylor's and Britney's posse came, along with Mr and Mrs Popular of course, and they all sat down at my table. Others who couldn't fit just sat on the table next to us.

What the hell is going on?

It seems like I must have said that aloud because Britney answered me. "We're going to make your life better! We're gonna be your friends!"

The sarcasm was literally leaking through her every single word.

"Cut the crap, princess," I rolled my eyes, flicking her off.

"Actually, it's true," Taylor said, as a matter-of-factly.

"Now why the fucking hell would you guys be my friend?" I asked, arching an eyebrow.

"Oh, we see great potential in you." Britney said.

"Potential?" I asked.

"To be a cool kid, y'know."

No way in freaking hell.
