3: Dinner With The Posey's

Chapter 3: Dinner With The Posey's

Britney Posey, is moving to the house across the street, and knowing my aunt, she's gonna make us go there and give a house-warming present or invite them over for dinner.

My life's over. Okay well technically it's not but it's an expression okay.

"Did you see that?" Aunt Meg said, barging into my room with Vince right behind her, looking down at his phone. Anti-social much?

"Yeah..." I muttered.

"Well, the girl looks like she's your age, do you know her? Maybe you can finally make new friends!" she said, clapping her hands, jumping up and down.

My aunt's pretty young so she still acts like a teenager. She's a few years older than Vince, but nonetheless, she was like the older teenage sister I never had.

"Do I know her? Hmm I don't know, it's not like I wouldn't recognize the school's most popular girl! And what are you on about? I don't need new friends." I glared at her.

"That's too bad. We're inviting them for dinner once they settle down!" she said, walking away.

"Did you not just hear wha-" she cut me off by closing the door.

This can't be happening. Ugh of all people in the world, why her? I'd rather some serial killer live next door but no, it had to be Britney. I sighed in frustration and realised Vince was still in my room.

"What do you want?" I asked, knowing he wouldn't have stayed in my room unless he wanted something.

"C'mon lil' sis! Can't your good ol' brother hang out with you?"

"Tsk tsk, cut the crap, what do you want?"

"Well... I need advice... On the opposite gender," he stammered, hanging his head low.

"You're 21! Shouldn't you know about this stuff?" I arched an eyebrow and looked at my brother.

He shook his head, cheeks turning pink. So then being the good sister I am, I proceeded to telling him what he should do to make a good date and stuff like that. Hey, I may be an outcast, but that doesn't mean I can't wish to have a magical love story or be a hopeless romantic. Everyone wants to have an amazing love story, don't they?

I lay on my bed, looking through my phone. This may be a shocker, but I do have social medias, and I have a lot of followers, I mean 2k kind of a lot. I use a 'secret identity', a user-name has doesn't include my name, captions and bios that don't include anything that can give myself away. On Instagram, I post pictures of sceneries and views, thus it's safe to say that I like photography. On Tumblr, well, random things. Then again, it is Tumblr after all. But no one knows who's behind it. I'm as good as an undercover keeping her identity.

Then 18 by 5 Seconds of Summer played on my iTunes. I listened to the lyrics and wondering if I actually want to do that; I did turn 18 yesterday, the lyrics played- I wish that I was 18, do all the things, you read in the magazine.

Pfft, yeah, like I want to do that. Everything in magazines are usually fake, which is why I stick to books.

I dialled Zoe's number and talked to her about Britney moving opposite. She gasped and we continued talking for an hour or so, as I continued putting up the pictures.

Boy, am I looking forward to that dinner with Britney Posey! Ha, note the major sarcasm.

"They're here!" Aunt Meg shouted as the door bell rung. I could almost picture her clumsily running down the stairs to head to the door.

Damn it!

They actually came. Today was the day the Posey's were coming over for dinner and I was not looking forward to it. I made a deal with Aunt Meg, saying that I will join them for dinner if Zoe could come as well and my excuse was, "she could also make a new friend!" And to that, of course Aunt Meg said yes. Currently, we were sprawled on my bed watching The Conjuring. Honestly, it's not as scary as I thought. Zoe however, was hiding her face in my pillow, whimpering.

I groaned as Aunt Meg shouted for us to come down. Might as well get this over and done with. I didn't listen to Aunt Meg when she said to dress nicely, I think my outfits are pretty okay, jeans and a hoodie that said applecrumble and fish. Hah, get it? Abercrombie and Fitch? Yeah anyways, Aunt Meg cooked up a cow. There's was only seven people, but the amount of food she cooked was more than enough.

"Would you put on a smile?" Aunt Meg said, giving me a flat look.

"Yeah sure, let me give The Joker a call and ask him to slit the sides of my mouth," I rolled my eyes, while Zoe laughed.

Aunt Meg glared at me but proceeded to open the door and welcome them in.

And there she was. Britney, wearing heels, probably about 6 inched, a mini skirt like she was a striper, and a white blouse. Again, I rolled my eyes.

"Hi! I'm Megan, this is Summer, my niece," she said gesturing to me, "and Vince, my nephew."

I cleared my throat, Aunt Meg forgot Zoe.

"Oh right! And this is Zoe, Summer's best friend," she introduced.

We all shook hands. Me reluctantly shaking Britney's dragron-claws filled hands. She also had a disgusted face when she shook Zoe's and my hand, but when it came to Vince, she blinked her eyes like there was something in it.

It seemed like Vince heard my thoughts or something, and said, "is there something in your eye?"

Zoe and I went hysterical. You go Vince! Vince chuckled as Britney glared at all of us, before proceeding to the dining table. I gave Vince a high-five, Zoe as well, and he hugged me by the side.

"Alright! Dig in guys!" Aunt Meg announced, as soon as all of us were seated.
