Chapter 1: Cool Poses

"Hey Summer!" Zoe exclaimed.

Zoe's my best friend. She used to be a cool kid but she changed, one day we started talking and this is how the friendship blossomed.

"Zo, it's 8am in the morning, thus the 'am' might I add, so stop being so cheery!" I said, rubbing my temples.

"C'mon! It's your birthday! How can I possibly not be cheery? Oh and here's your present, I want you to open it on the spot yeah?" she said, giving me a puppy dog face.

Zoe, on the other hand, had major obsessions with birthdays. But that has advantages, and one of them is that you get amazing birthday presents.

How can I even say no to that face? Zoe's no kid, but she definitely has a face that you want to squish cause it's just so adorable! Basically, she could be a mind-controller like that guy in one of the Supernatural episodes, except with just her eyes.

"Hold your horses, let's get a seat first." I said, taking the neatly wrapped present and walked to an empty table with 2 chairs, Zoe hot on my heels.

We were in Starbucks. Typical white girls yeah yeah whatever. There's no school today, cause it's Sunday aka my birthday. I don't see a big deal honestly, other than the fact that my birthday fell on Valentine's Day. Zoe made me wake up so early cause she said and I quote, I want to spend the whole day with my best friend, and we shall not waste any time at all!

"Okay! Open it, open it, open it, op-" she repeated over and over and over again.

"Alright! sheesh," as you can tell, I don't have my birthday spirit. Or maybe it's the fact that it's 8 a.m. in the morning.

Clearly, I'm not a morning person.

I carefully opened the present, feeling Zoe's eyes on me throughout the whole damn time. I took off the wrapping paper, seeing that it was an unfamiliar colourful striped box. I looked at Zoe suspiciously, but her eyes sparked with excitement, moving her hand gesturing for me to continue. I opened up the box and my eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas Day.

It was a Polaroid camera. Not only that but there were so many packs of films. From the marvel ones, to the checkered ones to the plain, and so many more.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" I chimed, leaning over the table and hugging her tightly.

I know I said that I don't really care about my birthday, but I have always wanted a Polaroid camera. I mean it comes out almost immediately. How cool is that?

Zoe chuckled, and said, "no worries but you're gonna let me keep some of the pictures you take on that later on, kay?"

"Okay." I said, smirking.

I put the present into my backpack and proceeded to get Zoe and I a drink, that's until she stopped me.

"Nah-uh, I'm getting us a drink, white chocolate mocha no whip right?" she asked.

"Yeah but I can get-" she walked away, "gee okay"

~~~~~
Currently, we were heading to Universal Studios. Heck yeah! I love Universal Studios, who doesn't? Apparently, Zoe knew that I would be free and spend the whole day at home being Snorlax, so she booked 2 tickets beforehand just to make sure they aren't sold out.
Currently, we were walking to the Jaws ride and boy was I excited. Something about movies involving sharks always attracted me. Call me sadistic or what not, but I liked chuckling at how ironic and stupid the deaths were. Sometimes I'd be screaming at the television screen for the person to do this, do that, though knowing that the film was recorded a long time ago.
There was a fake shark outside the ride, thus making me gain courage to ask someone to help Zoe and I take a Polaroid picture. I liked sharks; and I really wanted to try standing under the shark as if hanging directly on top of me.
"Hey, do you mind help us take a picture?" I asked tapping a guy's shoulder. Why I chose a guy to take a ridiculous picture, I don't know.
He turned around, and his face just rings a bell. I think he was from school, but with all the excitement bubbling inside of me, I couldn't care less. I shrugged it off as he nodded, smirking?
I gave him the Polaroid camera, expecting him to know how to use it since well it is the 21st century and he's a teen.
He snapped two pictures in which Zoe and I could have one each and posed like we didn't care what he would have thought. Honestly, I have no idea where the self confidence came from but oh well. It's not as if I'll be seeing him around anyways.
He passed the camera to us, and I was careful not to let our fingers touch. I've heard of those 'our fingers brushed and I felt a spark' thing before and I didn't believe it, yet that doesn't mean I would like to experience it; even though I don't know if it will.
"Cool poses," he said, before walking off.
We waited for the films to develop, and when it did, I smiled at our idiocity and kept it in my wallet, Zoe doing the same. After that, we went in line to queue for the ride.
