tfw pacing and the structure of your own story requires you to write 5k long chapters to fit in all the necessary plox 

seriously though if anyone wants to know the REAL reason I was gone so goddamn long it's because this one chapter of the space between stars is  l i t e r a l l y  over five thousand words and every time I sit down to work on it I either give up or immediately have to do something

anyways hydrougi will not stop talking and iris scoffs in the background every 200 words writing is like being on a road trip with all your characters and eventually all the small things they do start grating on you

planning is even worse because i'll be trying to do something and then

my right brain: WHAT IF (INCREDIBLY STUPID IDEA) HAPPENED RIGHT NOW IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS CAREFULLY PLOTTED AND DEVELOPED SCENE AND TOTALLY THREW OFF EVERYTHING YOU'VE BEEN WORKING ON FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS 

one of my characters: well that sounds like a lot more fun than *yells up to me in the front seat* DYING 

me: I WILL TURN THIS CAR AROUND
