Chapter 22
[Dread Wolves Tribe Village, Outside Monoceros Keep, 1st of Before Witching, Year 426, 10:00 AM]
As the medical team from the Monoceros Keep General Hospital and the security team from the La Foranea Police nationale had arrived two to three hours ago, the nomadic elven people from all walks of life had flocked to the selected group of doctors, dentists, nurses, and medical technicians for their physical exam. The police patrolled around the place and assisted both the medical team and the tribe people. In two hours, Doctors Amnon and Glenda Montmartre were busily talking and assesing their patients on queue. A young dark haired assistant nurse, Bella Witwickens was finished talking to the orc man Doctor Hugo McCoy when she approached the physician spouses.
" Doc Amnon, " she politely called him out. " Doctor McCoy has tasked you to check those patients in the quarantine tent. He will be your temporarily reliever for those other patients on queue as Doctor Sunstrider is also coming with you. "
" Thank you, Bella, " Amnon nodded at Bella as he finished diagnosing and giving perscription papers and medicines to an elderly elven patient suffering from hypertension. He stood up from his station and turned to Glenda. " Glen, I'll be off for a while as Docteur McCoy will temporarily take over for my next patients. "
Glenda looked at her spouse after she injected a vaccine to Celine's daughter, Callisto and replied, " Sure, I'll wait for you to return. Keep it up! "
The general practitioner stood up from his booth when an orc man walked over to him. McCoy smiled at him, held his things, and reminded, " No worries, Montmartre. This will be for a while since the former Ravenclaws need more medical attention. You can return to your station. "
" Oui, monsieur, " Amnon agreed and picked up his things, looking at the remaining patients. Then, he said, " Docteur McCoy will temporary take over for now. I'll be back soon. "
The elves nodded at him as the orc physician took over. The general practitioner skidded to the grass area when he met an Elandric physician in his thirties in short dark bluish locks. He was wearing a turquoise scrubs and holding his grey bag.
" Bonjour, It's been long time no see, Amnon, " the other doctor cordially smiled and greeted him. " I rarely see you and Glenda these days ever since we graduated med school at the uni! "
" Vulcan? You're here! " Amnon recognised his fellow physician and shook his hands. " How come you're working at the hospital again? "
" I'm taking three days a week mid-shift at the pediatric cancer ward and three days working at my clinic in Saint-Gratien. Clowning around with the kids and doing the usual check-ups for them have been occupied me ever since, " Vulcan replied and changed topic. " I heard what happened to you from your previous employer and your clinic. I'm sorry for the losses. It seems you're trying your best to keep up these days. "
" Thanks, camarade. I wish we have more time to discuss these. Right now, we have some quarantined Ravenclaws to deal with. "
" Yeah, you're right. We're back in business. Let's get them healed. "
The two men headed to the large tent when they saw a brunette bearded elven man wearing a green shirt and a pair of navy blue pants. He opened the tent for them and recognized the blonde bespectacled and moustached doctor in a Vilbian Isles mercenary outfit.
" Doctor Montmartre, it's good to see you again, " the elven man greeted and slightly smiled, inhibiting his anxiousness.
" It's good to see you too, monsieur Earthwood, " Amnon replied and introduced his fellow physician to him. " Vulcan, this is Monsieur Phinehas Earthwood. Monsieur Earthwood, this is Docteur Vulcan Sunstrider, another Elandric-Foranean fellow aside from my pregnant wife and my orc man boss."
" It's nice to meet you, Mister Earthwood, " Vulcan offered a handshake.
" Likewise, Doctor Sunstrider. I am glad that you two have arrived aside from your fellows, " Phinehas warmly smiled and shook hands with the other physician.
" Yeah, Doctor Montmartre and I have heard a group of former Ravenclaws being settled from prison and quarantined in this tent. Can you tell us how long they have been experiencing any signs and symptoms of this Umbral branding? "
Phinehas heavily sighed and turned to his fellows who were bedridden. Merrill and Valeera were assisting and looking after them. Then, he moved his head to the two physicians and replied, " They have been experiencing a very high fever and coughing. Some of them were talking nonsense, cursing and crying against the Umbral gods. The others have a difficulty of breathing just like I did. "
" Hypoxia, Asphyxia, Hallucinations, Coughing, and a high fever, " Amnon thought and asked. " Anything else? "
" They feel like they are being stabbed in tremendous pain anywhere in the body. "
" Migraines, Bodyaches, and chest pains. "
Vulcan turned to Amnon and asked, " Amnon, I have never realized the Umbral curse is severely getting out of hand. It sounds like a terminal illness. "
" I know. Well, we need to intervene this, " the general practitioner answered at his pediatrician fellow.
" Got any ibuprofen or paracetamol? "
" Nòn, it can't be treated with any pharmaceuticals. It's not some ordinary physical illness. This one is combined with the supernatural. "
" Oh, for Heaven's sakes! Those Umbrals are a total menace! "
" Indeed, gentlemen, " Phinehas heavily sighed and interjected. " Perhaps, you need to check them before giving them a cure. "
" So, you, Valeera, and Gozposha Merrill are taking turns for nursing them? " Amnon surmised. " Anyone else in this village who is assisting you three? "
" We take turns from sunrise to sundown since yesterday until you have arrived. "
" Damn, this tribe knows how to do 12 to 24 hour rotational hospital shifts! " Vulcan exclaimed in shock. " Well, we're going in. "
The three men entered the quarantined tent when Merrill and Valeera noticed and wearily smiled at the two human physicians.
" Gozposha Merrill, Valeera, Bonjour, " Amnon greeted the two elven women who worked as nurses to the quarantined patients.
" Good day, Doctor Montmartre and Doctor Sunstrider, " the village elder politely greeted. " Valeera and I have been looking after the since sunrise. Most of them are becoming ill. "
" I'm not sure if the combiner antidote will work in this number of people, " Amnon said with concern and saw numerous bedridden patients. " I only have 30 to 40 syringes prepared including Dragotsenny from Père Agapov. "
" What's a combiner antidote? " Vulcan asked.
" It's a combination of an herbal Vitality Serum with analgesic, anaesthetic, and regeneration properties and Ouranist Holy Water that can break the curse. "
" So, you combined two liquids into a new formulation. How is it gonna work? "
" It really worked for me, Doctor Sunstrider, " Phinehas reasoned. " I was Doctor Montmartre's first receipient of that antidote. "
The blue haired Elandric-Foranean physician cocked his eyebrows in doubt and looked at Amnon and Phinehas. He raised his eyebrows and laughed, " Look, you guys are kiddng me?! How can a newly developed drug can save these lives of the former bedridden Ravenclaws?! Are there any adverse reactions on this combiner drug?! Every drug takes years to research and develop from single to multiple clincal test trials?! Don't tell me that Vitality Serum comes from a magical school on the clouds?! "
Amnon became unamused at his colleague and heavily sighed. Valeera felt sorry for him and didn't want to retaliate against Vulcan. Phinehas and Merrill shared glances and noticed another male patient harder coughing blood.
" Oh, Heavens have mercy on him! " the brunette elven man muttered anxiously and turned to Amnon and Vulcan. " Doctors, we don't have much time to harshly criticise and debate on this! We need that antidote to cure him! Please! I don't want to lose another life because of that incurable curse! "
" Monsieur Earthwood, I have forty syringes that contain the combiner drug. How can it suffice with ninety patients in this tent?! " Amnon anxiously asked.
" Wait..." Valeera snapped her fingers and recalled on what the village elder had done before she came to the quarantine tent. Then, she looked at Merrill and said, " Grandmother, perhaps we can help Amnon and Vulcan to recreate the Vitality Serum and mixed with Holy Water. You did an herbal potion last night. "
" Yes, I did, " the village elder nodded and looked at the two doctors. " Doctors Montmartre and Sunstrider, you need to set aside your differences at once. We have dying ravenclaw who needs your help. "
Vulcan sadly sighed and humbly said, " Right, I'm sorry for my rudeness. Now, we deal with the forty syringes of our first forty elves. We're gonna divide into the two of us? So twenty patients each? "
" Oui, Do you still have the extra fifty? " the general practitioner queried.
" Fifty new and empty syringes. Got it. "
" Like you said, 'We're back in business.' "
For the two physicians in duty, they took twenty patients each including the one who was experiencing coughing blood and injected them with a combiner drug. Valeera casted Sacred Cleansing for the forty former Ravenclaws which they were exposed to the radiant yellowish-white light. Moments later, Phineha gestured the forty recovered elves to get out of the tent for they would need a fresh air and soon they would release the Umbral branding out of their bodies.
As Merrill held the bottles of her created Vitality serum, Amnon had his bottle of Ouranist Holy Water refilled and began to pray in Franken. Valeera, Vulcan, and Phinehas watched and waited for him to combine it to herbal potion.
" Ma chère Dame Photis et Vos Hôtes Célestes,
Bénissez cette eau pour enlever la marque ombrale dans leurs corps physiques qui apportent de graves infirmités. Puissent ces personnes les libérer de cet esclavage physique, psychologique, et spirituel.
Amen. "
Pouring the Holy Water to the concoction, Amnon mixed the two compounds and gestured his fellow physician to set the combiner drug into syringe for 40 ml. Vulcan nodded and took the exact measurement, placing the needle.
" Ready to deal with the fifty, but twenty-five each? " the Elandric-Foranean pediatrician smirked and held the first syringe.
" Oui, Diviser et convalescence. (Yeah, Divide and convalesce.) " the general practitioner nodded and held the second one.
" Let's go! "
Moments after the last fifty were healed along with the first forty elven people, the former Ravenclaws' were no longer staying at the quarantine tent. Merrill, Valeera, and Phinehas were pleased at the two human physicians' actions and teamwork.
" Told you, the combiner drug will work, " Amnon grinned.
" Yeah, it's really proven and tested. I guess it worked for them, " Vulcan chuckled and shrugged, teasing his friend. " You still owe me more time to talk about your adventures from Odyssea Academy. I will anticipate that when I meet you again at the hospital's canteen. "
" It was just a stepping stone, camarade. My real adventure continues here in our homeland, " he answered and noticed at the elven people going around. " I guess we still need to go back into our stations and deal with the other patients. "
" Vous allez manger tous les deux? (Are you two getting to eat?) " the phooka police inspector sternly echoed at the two physicians and made them startle at him.
" Ah, Inspecteur Sauveterre, on parlait justement de retourner à nos postes! (Ah,Inspector Sauveterre, we were just talking about returning to our stations!) " the blue haired doctor nervously chuckled.
" Peut-être pourrions-nous nous nourrir d'abord avant d'entrer dans le prochain patient! (Perhaps, we might nourish ourselves first before getting into the next patient!) " the blonde bespectacled and moustached fellow interjected.
(You eager and hardworking hospital junkies, why don't you grab something to eat and drink. You two should be thankful to us cops. There are no threats happening in the village. I've just come here to remind you both to have lunch!) " Then, he looked at the blonde doctor, heard his stomach grumbling, and pointed at the pregnant pediatrician from a distance. " Et Amnon, ta femme t'attend car elle t'a réservé un repas. Elle m'a demandé de t'appeler. Au fait, votre estomac fulmine contre vous. (And Amnon, your wife has reserved a meal for you. She asked me to call you. By the way, your stomach's loudly ranting at you.)"
" Et sur Iliad ?! C'est vraiment gênant! (What on Iliad?! This is really embarrassing!) " Amnon facepalmed to his embarassment.
Vulcan chortled at his fellow physician and friend, " I guess I can agree with him! Come on, let's grab something to eat! "
[FIVE HOURS LATER]
As the medical team finished their work with the last few patients, Amnon was about to end the check-up of a tall ruddy and gruff blacksmith named Arthas Vadum Thornwood. The elven received his paper perscription and some bottle of vitamin tablets. He looked at the blonde moustached doctor and grinned.
" So, Doc. I am in clean bill of health, right? " Arthas asked.
" Yes, make sure you watch your diet, excerise, and have enough sleep, " Amnon reminded. " Since you have fully recovered from your sudden illness due to a curse and showed your blood tests and heart monitor results are still normal. I would say you continue to maintain your new lifestyle and eat and drink moderately. "
" Ah, good! That means I can stay as a spring chicken! "
" Perhaps, so. Unless if I can give you a second opinion if your condition persists. "
" Well, then. I propose to have a sparring match with you, Doc! " Arthas happily exclaimed. " To test if I can still get my strength and good health! "
" I don't think I haven't written that to your recommendation. I haven't advised that to you! " the general practitioner nervously chuckled and made a sweatbead. " I don't want you to get passed out for the second time! "
" Come on, Doc. It's a friendly spar! No worries! We'll be both fine afterwards! "
Amnon gulped and took a deep breath since he saw his patient holding two swords. He didn't want to have a spar with Arthas. This would reveal his alter ego as the Blue Knight. Neil, the elven journalist who was with the teams along, wryly grinned at the doctor and lowly whispered, " Amnon, you might get bamboozled and busted as the Blue Knight. Just play safe and don't get too overboard. "
The doctor nodded and stood up from his station. He looked at his taller ruddy elven patient and said, " Alright, challenge accepted. Please don't get too far. We have the medical team who will look after us in case of emergencies. "
" Good! Let's begin! " Arthas exclaimed happily and handed the blue sword to him.
The crimson haired elven blacksmith held his sword on his right hand and gestured him to come over using his left hand. The human blonde physician observed his seven feet opponent, analyzing the height and weight difference and possible strikes and hits. Somehow, he was too nervous that he didn't want to transform or fight as the Blue Knight. He had to come over to his opponent, following his gesture.
Arthas intently grinned and followed up a series of swatting and hitting his human opponent. Amnon got startled, widening his eyes and having a difficulty of his chance to retaliate. Instead, he kept dodging from the elven man's attacks.
" What's the matter, Doc?! A little bleeding and a scar won't hurt! " Arthas exclaimed and gave him a hardy laugh, continuing to swat and strike him.
" You won't even realise that one exposed wound can be a perfect spot for harmful microbes to penetrate and infect the whole body, " Amnon replied and kept dodging his opponent. " It depends if the white blood cells can take them down for the individual's immunity! "
" You can actually heal wounds, but what if someone strike you at the most crucial part of the body?! "
Arthas paused swatting and found the doctor's neck, pointing and getting closer to it in a few inches.
" Cheeky move, Blacksmith, " Amnon smirked. " You're aiming at the carotid pulse."
The doctor was able to retaliate and hit Arthas's sword. For the spectators, they saw the two men forming an X position from their blades. Arthas got surprised at Amnon's action, attempting to pin him. Amnon kept swatting and hitting his opponent. Arthas was also striking and hitting as well. With these exchanges of crossing blades, Glenda, Vulcan, and Smolder also watched the two men duelling.
" Sacrè Bleu, Amnon! " the fat raven haired physician widened his eyes and exclaimed. " Arrèt! "
" Oh, Cheese, really?! " Vulcan anxiously raised his voice. " Can somebody stop them?! "
" Amnon! " Glenda loudly called him out. " Stop! "
Seeing her husband striking and retaliating against the seven feet gruff blacksmith, Glenda was in shock and feeling a sudden pain from her daughter's kicking inside the womb. She moaned in excruciating pain when Tier, Neil, and the others noticed her. Arthas paused this duel and looked concerned at Amnon and his wife.
" I guess you have proven yourself very healthy, " Amnon replied and paused fighting, panting. " But next time, don't exceed beyond your limits. "
" I'm sorry, Doc, I have become too far in this. You, as well are a great fighter, not just a healer, " the blacksmith humbly conceded and held his sword down. " Go look after your wife. She needs you more. "
The doctor nodded and handed the other sword to Arthas when he rushed to Glenda who was anxiously panting and moaning in pain. She was holding her large protuding abdomen. Then, Amnon looked at everyone and asked, " Can someone give her a glass of water, please? "
" I still have a pitcher and a glass, Amnon, " Valeera said and gestured at the physician spouses. " Come with me to my grandmother's tent. Glenda can rest there. "
" Thank you, Val, " Glenda nodded and panted.
Entering Merrill's tent, Valeera assisted the spouses and held the tray with pitcher of water and a glass, placing them on the table. The lady paladin elf grabbed a bunch of pillows, making the pregnant pediatrician comfortable in her resting. Amnon aided his wife to sit on the sleeping mat with pillows. Glenda comfortably sat and leaned as she sighed. Her husband poured a glass of water and handed it over to her. The pediatrician drank it instantly and looked at her spouse.
" You pushed yourself to fight, " she said with a concern. " I never expected that to happen. What if anyone might find out about you as the Blue Knight, we'll be in big trouble. I am getting worried of you might get harmed. I'm not ready to get Emie out of me. I don't want to lose our baby. "
Amnon looked at his wife and felt sorry for her and his incoming child. He sighed and held her hands. That duel with Arthas may be stressful for Glenda which they ended fairly.
" I'm sorry if I did this as a test of the blacksmith's overall health. I didn't mean to distress you and Emie, " he humbly answered. " It may be a preparation to protect you both from any threats as the Blue Knight. I won't let anyone harm my wife and child. I really don't want to lose you both. "
Glenda smiled sincerely and hugged him. Amnon kissed and hugged her back. Just then, he realised that he needed to check his little daughter's heartbeat. He parted away from his wife and took out his stethoscope from his belongings. Glenda curiously tilted her head and anticipated for what she would expect from her spouse.
" Glen, pull your scrub shirt in midrib, " he ordered nonchalantly.
" Are you going to check on Emie if she's okay? " she asked.
" Yes. "
" Right. Gotcha. "
The pregnant pediatrician pulled her blue and pink floral scrub shirt, revealing her large protruding tummy. Her general practitioner spouse placed the stethoscope on the spot where the child's heartbeat was emanated. He listened carefully, smiled, and sighed in relief which Emie was safe and sound.
" She's fine, Babe..." he assured. " She sensed and heard how you felt earlier. Emie was excited. "
" Oh, thank Heavens! I thought I was going to lose her and myself, " Glenda also sighed in relief. " It's her 39th week inside me. Just these days, I felt she's stretching, twisting, kicking, and tumbling. "
" So, is she ready for your due date? "
" I don't think so. We have eight days to go before she's ready to leave the womb. Can I hear her in your stethoscope? "
" Sure. "
Amnon had let his wife borrow his stethoscope. Glenda also tuned in to her daughter's heartbeat and smiled, while looking at her tummy and her husband.
" I can't wait to let her see and hear the outside world, " she commented.
" Anytime soon, she will join us, " he assured and held his wife's back. She was leaning on her spouse's broad shoulders. Just then, Doctor Smolder Ryliea entered Merrill's tent and felt relieved in seeing the Montmartres in respite. He sat on the foot stool and said, " Boss McCoy asked me to check on you two after the friendly spar with that elven patient. How's Glenda and your daughter inside the womb? "
" They're fine, " Amnon replied. " Emie was thrilled despite of my wife's sudden anxiety. "
" Oh, thank goodness, " Smolder exhaled and interjected. " Don't tell me your Foranean Army and Odyssea Contractor Guild Days are returning into your senses, Amnon. Is there something that you need to tell me? "
Amnon and Glenda both shared glances and secretly implied at each other not to tell about the Blue Knight. They turned to the supervising physician.
" It happened to be a physical strength and endurance test which the patient had proposed, " Amnon explained. " So, it proves to be cleared of hypertension and heart disease. "
" Elves are somewhat eager and thrill-seekers! " Smolder chuckled and changed his topic. " I let you guys be before we have our thanksgiving supper along with the Dread Wolves Tribe. Docteur Durand could have come along with us. "
" Well, we are doing this on her behalf, " Glenda replied.
" Right, " he nodded. " I'll see you guys later. I'm helping everyone to pack-up. "
As Smolder left the tent, Arthas was next person to enter tent and feeling sorry for the physician spouses who were expectant parents. He closed the tent cloth and sat down in front of them. Amnon and Glenda turned their attention to the blacksmith.
" My apologies for challenging your husband, my dear lady, " Arthas humbly bowed at the pregnant doctor. " It was my fault why I asked him to do this. It happened to be a physical test aside from Doctor Balland had ordered me to do. Infact, your husband has both brave and gentle soul inside him. He reminded me of my old friend Eliah way back. "
" I understand, " Glenda sincerely smiled and carefully unfolded her shirt back. " It's just I was worried if my spouse would get harmed. "
" Worry not, Lady Doctor. You married a warrior and a healer. He is expecting your bun in the oven! I will never ever harm a family man! " the ruddy elven blacksmith joked and loudly laughed, slapping his thighs.
The Montmartres understood the joke and also joined the laughter. Arthas was enjoying the company and conversation of the two and thinking of his beloved wife and surviving son. He ceased his laughter and seriously cleared his throat.
" Monsieur Thornwood, is there something you can share with us? " Amnon curiously asked and noticed the elven man's change of mood.
" Me dear beloved mate, Rhiannon gave birth to my lad, Jesse when I was travelling at sea before reaching Alderny in the Period of the Dark Sun when the war broke out, " Arthas recalled. " I was a sailor in the ship and working with me captain as his first mate. When I returned home in Robania, Rhiannon was no more, but Jesse was just a little lad at that time. I decided not travel and work on sea. I rejoined with the Dread Wolves Tribe. "
" So, you have met my ancestors, I believe? "
" Yes, they're me good friends since childhood. Kintor, Christopher, Eliah, Alina, and Arielle. We spent travelling and playing together. If you want to know about Eliah and the others, I think we need more time to talk on this. "
" Why? "
" It's already sun down and approaching supper time, Doc. We should be going as your people are thanking the elder. "
As Arthas was about leave, he peeked at the tent's opening and noticed Christopher and Valeera went on a sword sparring. Amnon and Glenda also stood-up and watched the uncle and niece duelling.
" Doctors! Look at them! " the blacksmith called them out. " They seem to be eager just like us! "
" Yeah, I wonder what Wilma's reaction right now, " Glenda chuckled.
" Is she eyeing at him? " Amnon asked.
" It's pretty obvious just this morning when I was working with the kids's check-up. She was suddendly staring at him while talking to her patients, " the pregnant pediatrician answered and noticed her white haired cousin was staring at the long haired elf from a distance. " Will you just look at her? She's in to him! "
" Right! "
[Two Hours Later]
As everyone in the tribe enjoyed their supper and the company with the medical team and the policemen, Neil Ingrid Carter was interviewing Sophia Graveheart-Aurand as one of the members of the Dread Wolves Tribe and Monoceros Keep General Hospital's selected medical team. He was sitting on the bench under the tree. Sophia was on the opposite side of him and sitting on a wooden chair. She was also a dark-haired elven woman with shades of bluish-white. She was wearing purple scrubs and a dark jacket.
" So, your older cousin had fought a group of goblins in saving your niece? " the elven journalist asked.
" Oui, he did, " the lady elven nurse nodded and recalled. " I treated his wounds and told me he had to endure and rescue Valeera. "
" I assume he used his elemental magic to fight them. "
" I thought so, " she mused. " My older cousin was very passionate and eager to learn about the elements. I told him he was so getting too obssessed, but what I could remember that he wanted to become one of Iliad's greatest mages. That had lead him to get to Odyssea Academy by training there. "
" I see. Were you able to study there? "
Sophia gave Neil an intriguing glare and cocked her eyebrow. She smiled and chuckled, " Nón, I almost got my admission when I received a letter from Professor Puck Midsummer from five years ago. But unfortunately, my parents rejected it when I studied in University of Foranea as a nurse instead. They didn't want me to get through, but my cousin did this year. "
" Understandable. "
" The last letter I received from him was he met and befriended a doctor and some people from the Contractor's guild. They had been to the Arcane Stretch, Darsan, and the Vilbian Isles. Then, afterwards, I have never received any letters from him. I became so worried of what happened. "
" Were you able to ask your relatives here in the tribe? "
" Nòn, " she sadly sighed. " I have become so occupied in the evening hospital shifts. I was assigned in the emergency cases. I have no time to visit the village. "
" Maybe, it's your chance to talk to them. "
Sophia nodded and stood-up as she saw her other cousin, Wilma, Celine, and Fiona laughing and chatting with each other. Christopher was happily flirting with three women. Valeera was still babysitting Callisto. The elven nurse heavily sighed when Neil noticed her.
" Any luck? " the red-headed elven journalist asked.
" Nòn, " she gloomily responded. " Maybe, I'll try to talk to Docteur Montmartre. Kintor knows him back in his time at Odyssea. "
" I just saw him and his wife talking to Inspector Sauveterre a while ago, " Neil recalled and suggested. " Maybe you can ask him. "
" Certainement, merci beaucoup, Neil, " Sophia slightly smiled and stood-up. " Are you coming? "
" No, thanks, Sophia. I'm going to talk to Old Arthas. "
" Sure. Thanks for your time in talking. "
" You're welcome. "
Sophia saw the blonde physician spouses and walked over to them. She smiled in greeting as they curiously turned their attention to her.
" Sophia, you must be Kintor's cousin? " Amnon asked and recognised her. " I believe I have seen you back at the emergency room a week ago. "
" Ah, oui, " she nodded at the doctor. " It must be the Kastronov Circus-Bonaparte Park incident. We were busy dealing with those patients. " Then, she changed her topic, " Anyway, I have a question. Did you know what happened to my older cousin, Kintor? I had not seen him ever since I saw my niece Valeera here. "
Glenda looked at her husband and said, " I believe this is your call. "
Amnon nodded at his wife and deeply composed his thoughts. The elven nurse awaited for his response and raised her eyebrows. It was very to difficult to express this kind of loss for the younger relative who had no knowledge of what had transpired.
" Sophia, I'm sorry..." he calmly and sadly broke his silence. " Kintor didn't make it to come home from Hurroka. "
The elven nurse said in disbelief and wryly chuckled, " You must be joking, Docteur Montmartre? "
" No, I'm not, " he seriously replied. " I knew you have seen serious cases in the hospital. It was the same experience when I was there seeing him becoming critical and expired by an Alkaid Knight. I even performed a post mortem procedure. Sophia, I'm sorry. Please remember him as your great cousin and mentor. Kintor was a good friend and a warrior mage. Please don't forget about your memories with him. He loved you so much like his own younger sister. "
Sophia remained silent as her eyes became teary. She covered her face and wept. Glenda and her spouse instantly hugged her. She trembled and threw her arms to them. For her, she had discovered the truth from one of her supervising medical personnel. Her tiring evening had turned into a moment of grief and sorrow.
[Detention Area: Departement de police du Donjon de Monoceros: 9:30 PM, 1st of Before Witching, Year 426]
The tall and lanky elderly man wearing an orange jumpsuit lied down on the floor and eyed on the ceiling, counting some small lizards creeping and climbing. He realised he didn't have Umbral magic anymore and recalled the evening when his abilities were erased from him. He thought of seeking revenge against his detractors.
He slowly stood up and thought of finding an escape hatch from this dark and dismal cell. The old man looked around and heavily sighed. Suddenly, he heard laughter from an old man and a younger woman from this silent premises.
" Vous nous avez laissé tomber, Porcher! Pourquoi? ( You failed us, Porcher! Why?) " a female voice echoed.
" Madame Sheeva, Monsieur Néforie! (Madame Sheeva, Monsieur Neforie!) " Porcher tremblingly called their names. " Que faites-vous ici?! (What are you doing here?!) "
" Vous étiez censé construire un lieu de culte à partir de ce cirque avec les Serdaigles, mais vous n'êtes pas digne de continuer notre cause! (You were supposed to build a place of worship from that circus along with the Ravenclaws, but you're not worthy to continue our cause!) " Sheeva angrily replied.
Sèvère Porcher became jittery and moved his eyes to and fro in fear. He knew that he would be punished by the Umbral Spheres Cult and thought of something to convince.
" Madame Sheeva, peut-être que je peux faire de mon mieux en tant que membre digne de la secte, n'est-ce pas ? Peut-être que tu peux me laisser sortir d'ici ! Je suis toujours prêt à vous servir! (Madame Sheeva, perhaps I can try my best as a worthy member of the cult, right? Maybe, you can let me out of here! I'm still willing to serve you!) " he wryly smiled.
" Non, tu n'es pas digne, Porcher...(No, you're not worthy, Porcher...) " Sheeva sternly spoke and showed up to the prisoner.
Just behind her, an old man in a business suit and an emotionless young blonde boy stood and watched the madman inside the prison cell. Sheeva turned to them and implied to kill him.
" Anakin, faites les honneurs d'invoquer l'ange de la mort. (Anakin, do the honors of summoning the angel of death.) " the old man ordered his son.
Anakin summoned a dark portal, releasing a dark hooded being with a numeral, VI. The being had a scythe and glared at the prisoner. Porcher was shaking in fear and loudly screaming to see the entity from the void. The reaper swang readied to swing his scythe and strike his victim. This was the last cry of the madman named Sèvère Porcher.
[Moulin Noir, Place Loggen, Monoceros Keep: 10:15 PM]
" Vous n'êtes rien d'autre qu'un espion chergarien inutile! Nous vous avons ordonné de chercher un endroit où commencer notre révolution! (You're nothing but a useless, Chergarian spy! We ordered you to look for a place where we can start our revolution!) " a dark haired woman wearing in a revealing dress loudly yelled at him.
A tall ginger haired bearded man with verdant eyes said nothing and rolled his eyes in disgust. He didn't want to be involved with anyone from this extremist faction related to the Umbral Cult.
" Pourquoi tu ne me réponds pas?! (Why don't you answer me?!) " she angrily retorted.
(Because I don't want any of these, I am tired of following your orders! I can't tolerate watching all those innocents and seeing them being harmed! You told me to keep an eye on Porcher at the circus, but I did out of obedience! What you did was wrong?!) "
The woman frowned and took out her knife, giving him a stabbing look and threatening him. She hissed, " Quand et pourquoi avez-vous changé d'avis ? ! Était-ce parce que vous avez revu le Blue Knight errer ?! Dis-moi! (When and why did you change your mind?! Was it because you saw the Blue Knight roaming around again?! Tell me!) "
" Non, je ne sais pas pour le Blue Knight! Je jure! (No, I don't know about the Blue Knight! I swear!) "
" Menteur! (You, Liar!) "
" NEIN! NEIN! Du verstehst es nicht! Ich bin kein Lügner! (No! No! You don't understand! I am not a liar!) " the man cried in his mother tongue.
The woman looked at her male companions and snapped her fingers, calling their attention. The men knew what to do and nodded at her. They stepped away from the room. The bearded Chergarian man was becoming very afraid and knowing what they could do to him. Suddenly, they had let them entered a nine feet lizard man who had a menacing grin and a pair of sharp claws. The woman again snapped her fingers and summoned the creature to attack him. The ginger haired man was trembling when he thought of running away.
" NEIN!!! "
