Chapter 19

[Monoceros Keep General Hospital's Outpatient Area: 2:45 PM, 29th of Umbral-Tide/Darktide, Year 426]

" Monsieur Slash Indro, " the lady dwarven nurse with grey hair called the patient's name. " Please proceed to Docteur Montmartre's office. "

The man with long straight scarlet and chocolate locks had his ponytail set. He was wearing a brown polo shirt and pair of khaki pants. He was holding a long and large envelope on his right hand, carefully standing up, and bringing a cane which his sister borrowed it to him. Slash looked anxious of what the doctor would tell him and prayed for healing which a surgical procedure would not require him. He took a deep breath and diverted his thoughts in seeing some patients and an old woman who left Doctor Montmartre's office.

" Come in, " a man's voice echoed.

Slash turned the door knob and managed to smile at the tall blonde bespectacled and moustached man who stood from his seat.

" Bonjour, Doc, " the long haired Elandric outpatient cordially greeted him.

" Bonjour. Please have a seat, monsieur, " the physician offered him to sit on the reclining table.

" Thanks, " Slash nodded and sat down.

" So, you have your X-ray results which I have recommended, " Amnon reminded his patient.

" Yes, sir, " he handed the general practitioner the long large envelope.

Amnon nodded at him, carefully opened it, released the long dark rectangular X-ray film, and intently examined the tarsals, metatarsals, talus, calcaneus, cuboids, the phalanges, tibula, and fibula. He noticed there was no signs of dislocaton and bone fracture. Slash waited for what his doctor would say to his condition.

" May I see if you're able to move the affected foot? "

Slash nodded and obeyed as he raised his right foot. He was able to move and rotate his right foot for sixty seconds. The Elandric Navy deserter sighed in relief and smiled.

" You have recovered so far, good. " Amnon commented." So, your Ouranist Clerical Bandages and the pain killers work well. "

" Yeah, but I have to wait for five days to remove. So, how's my x-ray? "

" No bone fractures and dislocations. No need for surgery. You can rotate your foot, but why did you have a cane? "

Slash nervously chuckled and said, " My sister, Fang, doesn't want me to get tripped and fall down when I have accidents in walking. You know? It can help me to walk properly. "

" I see, " he nodded and suggested. " Aside from guided walking, you can use that for physical exercises. Just make sure you can maintain your balance in walking and avoid hazardous spots. "

" Yeah, sure. It sounds like a good idea, " the Elandric patient agreed and changed topic, wryly grinning. " Doc, I have a question, but this is really embarrassing. "

Amnon gave him a dubious glare and cocked his eyebrow while writing his recommendations to his patient. Slash was somewhat cringing to ask which he was deeply thinking of it.

" Look, I know you don't want to bring this up, I would give you this recommendation..."

" No, no, no, Doc. It's fine. I'm feeling awkward to ask this. I'm really glad my sister's not with me. She's busy working at her flower shop along with my future wife. "

" What is it? "

" So after I get married to my fiancè and soon to be wife, is it possible for me and her to raise a kid? "

Understanding the question, Amnon looked intently at his patient and smirked, " You're an advanced thinker, monsieur. No worries, your secret's with me. Do you want to take the next step after your matrimony? "

" Well...yeah! " Slash loudly chuckled and grinned. " Is there a way if I'm able to do something to her, like you know? You know what I mean, Doc! "

" You need to undergo a male fertility test. "

" What's that? "

" It's a sperm count test which you will be able to procreate a child to your upcoming wife. "

" Oh, right. "

" But I recommend you to meet a urologist, his name is Docteur Isaac Augustin. You can consult it with him for your male fertility test. He'll instruct and give you the sperm count results, " Amnon wrote the recommendation to his patient and the urologist's schedule.

" Sure. Thanks, Doc, " Slash received the paperwork and nodded.

" By the way, congratulations and best wishes for your wedding and family life very soon! "

Slash grinned and happily exclaimed," Oh, yeah! Thanks again, Doc! I'll do my best to be a good husband and father! "

The patient stood up and shook hands with his physician in greeting and thanking him. He left the office as Amnon finished his outpatient queue. Just then, he saw a raven haired Palgish medical technician. With the door opened, he was still knocking at the door.

" Laege Montmartre, bonjour! " he greeted.

" Bonjour, Torsten, " Amnon replied back and stood up from his seat, walking over to him.

" Are you busy at the moment? "

" No, I have finished my last outpatient duty. What is it? "

" I have given Laege Severin the blood test results from Mr. Kastronov which Annika has obtained. He needs to talk to us about his condition since he is planning to perform the procedure to the patient, " Torsten answered and handed him the paperwork.

" But I thought monsieur Kastronov has said he cannot afford to take the surgery due to some financial constraints, why is he going to take this? "

" Not that I know of, laege. You can ask his son, Boris along with Laege Severin. "

" Right, " he nodded. " Is he going to the outpatient area? "

" Ja. After his in-patient duty, but he can come any moment now. "

Amnon studied the patient's blood results. It was indicated that Hilden Kastronov has a high level of Triglycerides, high in bad cholesterol and low in good cholesterol. White Blood Cell count was around 15,000 to 16,000. Hematocrit was 36%. Hemoglobin was 9 mg/dL. Then, he saw large traces of an unknown antibodies in the blood sample.

" I don't know about the unknown antibodies. Annika said it was Umbral in origin. For me, I am theorizing this is a cardiac sarcoma. "

" We have an additional case of comorbidity, Torsten, " Amnon seriously replied.

" That is why Laege Severin needs to talk to us. "

Suddenly, a knock on the door was heard as the general practitioner and the medical technician turned their attention. Amnon stood up, opened the door, and recognized the other man with a white coat.

" Bonjour, Montmartre, Jørgensen. Can I have a word with you both? " he asked. " I need to talk to you about Kastronov. "

" Oui, " Amnon and Torsten nodded and followed Doctor Severin as they left the office.

The two doctors along with the medical technician went to a quiet corner of the hospital where they could brainstorm and discuss the patient's condition. Severin intently examined the patient's most recent blood test results and looked puzzled at the unknown traces of a foreign antibody in the bloodstream. Amnon and Torsten waited for his response when they needed a confirmation of Kastronov's comorbodity and further treatment.

" Severin, do you need more time to examine this before the possible procedure? " the general practitioner asked.

" I'm afraid this is a very complicated case, messieurs. It is more than a coronary heart disease, " Severin answered. " It's not a cardiac sarcoma."

" So, what is it, laege? " Torsten curiously queried.

" The foreign antibody within Kastronov's bloodstream and causing it to have dark plaques on his heart could be a supernatural origin. "

" So, it's definitely Umbral? " Amnon interjected.

" Oui, " Severin nodded and sadly sighed. " My apologies. I cannot perform a surgery with a severe comorbidity from both physical and supernatural aspects. Knowing that he is alcoholic and overweight, the existing disease of the physical aspect can be treated, but the 'other' seems to be too complicated to sort it out. Now, they are becoming intertwined as Kastronov's recovery seems to be very impossible to achieve. He might end-up in coma and depend on life support equipment for his condition. The worst case scenario is we will wait for his pending expiration. "

Amnon made a deep exhale and bowed his head in sadness. He was hoping for the retired Akrovian ringmaster to recover and remembering his aspiration of having grandchildren enjoying his circus troupe. On the other hand, Torsten became baffled of the Umbral curse has become linked to the physical illness. He still had questions creating in his mind for the two physicians.

" So, his previous repetitive hospital admissions and confinements make sense, " Amnon seriously broke his silence. " We have to speak to him and his son about this. "

" Doctors Montmartre and Severin, I really don't like bad news, but is there a way to treat him in both sides? " Torsten asked. " How is it possible that Umbral magic can cause serious infirmities? "

Amnon recalled of his experience in meeting Damocles back in Robania which the branding caused him a sudden cardiac arrest from the contractor guild party's dormitory. Then, he understood of his adopted daughter Esme who was under influence of another Umbral that caused her a sudden mental distress. Then, Sypher who had a terminal illness from a family's generational curse as he suspected as an Umbral in origin. This time, he looked at the two men and knew what to answer.

" Have you ever encountered an Umbral entity before? " Amnon asked the cardiologist and the medical technician.

" No, " Severin answered.

" Not that I am aware of, " Torsten added.

" Torsten, you attended Odyssea Academy before, right? "

" Ja, " the Palgish medical techinician nodded.

" If you can remember of your elective subject about religious studies in Iliad. "

" The Ouranists, Umbrals, and Mageians, ja? "

" Have you heard the Umbral Spheres? " Amnon asked.

" Wait, let me recall..." Torsten scratched his chin and looked at the ceiling.

" Montmartre, Jørgensen, I have read books about the Umbral Gods of Misfortunes and Sins when I was a lad, " Severin interjected. " I believe there are three Umbral nobles in each sphere. They are Spheres of Wrath, Agony, Despair, Greed, and Apathy. There are cults that they worship a specific or multiple gods. "

" Forstået! (Got it!) " Torsten exclaimed, snapped his fingers, and asked. " So, these cultists worship the gods who grant them with forbidden powers and magic to inflict anyone? Am I making it sense? "

" Oui, " the two physicians agreed in unison.

" Forstået nu. (Understood now.) But what possible treatment should we do to him? "

" I will not proceed with the surgery, " Severin answered. " I might cause another serious complication for both physical and supernatural comorbidity. "

" Perhaps, he should continue the medications that you prescribed to him, " Amnon suggested. " I might give him a dose of the Vitality Serum as a supplement in order to recover from his existing physical illness. "

" Right. Understandable. But what about the supernatural one? "

" I might need to consult this to Father Agapov. Absolutely, he can exorcise that Umbral branding from the patient. "

" Ja, Fader Agapov, " Torsten recalled. " I met him and my cousin here yesterday. I think they have some hospital visits to pray for the sick. Perhaps, I can... "

Suddenly, a lady elven nurse with scarlet locks and dressed blue scrubs rushed towards the two physicians and the medical technician. She turned them and alarmed, " Docteurs Séverin et Montmartre,146.2 ! La patiente Hilden Kastronov a besoin du Blue Code ! STAT ! (Docteurs Severin and Montmartre, 146.2! Patient Hilden Kastronov requires Blue Code! STAT!)"

Severin and Montmartre nodded and understood what the codes meant. Torsten looked at the two physicians and the nurse and said, " I'll be in the lab everyone. I need to work for more urine and blood samples. "

" As a fellow Ouranist, I need you to pray for Kastronov's successful resuscitation, " Amnon turned to Torsten. " Lady Photis and Her Hosts will guide us on this. "

" Noted, laege. May the Heavens bless and guide the both of you, " the medical technician made a thumbs-up and smiled at the two physicians.

Amnon and his fellow physician nodded back at Torsten and hurried themselves following the nurse and heading to the elevator. They reached at the second floor and noticed the confined patients from the circus troupe were anxiously murmuring about what happened to their previous ringmaster. Walking in cructhes, the current ringmaster approached the incoming medical staff.

" Docteurs, mon père est peut-être déjà mort ! Merci de le ranimer ! Il vient de s'évanouir ! S'il vous plaît, sauvez-le! (Doctors, my father could be dead by now! Please revive him! He has just passed out! Please save him!) " Boris loudly wailed and wept.

Severin, Montmartre, and the elven nurse understood the situation and entered the room. Boris wept and anxiously saw and waited for them to resuscitate his father. Just then, Doctor Amelie Glènat-Rousseau arrived along with other female dwarven nurse. Hilden was still unconsciously lying on the bed. His shirt was ripped open by one of the nurses who attended to him earlier.

" Rousseau, prenez des documentations. Infirmière Marie, vérifiez le pouls carotidien et préparez 10 ml d'épinéphrine pour l'intraveineuse. Infirmière Clarisse, vérifiez les voies respiratoires et maintenez la respiration. Montmartre, utilise un défibrillateur et vérifie s'il fonctionne, (Rousseau, take documentations. Nurse Marie, check the carotid pulse and prepare 10ml Epinephrine to the IV. Nurse Clarisse, check the airways and maintain respiration. Montmartre, use the defibrillator and check if it's functioning,) " Severin ordered. " Je vais faire la RCR. (I'll be doing the CPR.)"

As Amelie began writing the procedure, the elven nurse Marie checked the patient's pulse on the neck and shook her hands in sideways, implying 'no pulse.' Then, she carefully injected the ten milliliters of Epinephrine into the IV tube. The dwarven nurse Clarisse checked Hilden's throat and noticed no blockage of air. She took the bag mask and started to pump it for the ventilation. The Akrovian elder remained lifeless and started to breathe abnormally as he sounded like a barking dog.

"Continuez à pomper, Clarisse, (Continue pumping, Clarisse,)" Severin imperatively said.

When the dwarven nurse continued pumping the bag mask, she noticed that Hilden started to breath and gasping, but no streaking lines from the heart monitor.

" Il respire, mais toujours pas de pouls. (He's breathing, but still no pulse.) " Clarisse remarked.

Severin placed his both hands near the patient's sternum. His right hand was above his left. The cardiologist started to do some chest compressions for 100 to 120 pushes in a minute. Looking at the heart monitor, it was still a flatliner. Then, he looked at Amnon who was checking defibrillator and sighing.

" J'ai essayé d'allumer et d'éteindre, mais ça ne marche pas! (I've tried turning on and off, but it's not working!) " the general practitioner said to his dismay and did the troubleshooting for the defibrillator.

" Montmartre, vous avez des sorts bioélectriques. Pouvez-vous nous servir un défibrillateur maintenant? (Montmartre, you have bioelectric spells. Can you serve us as a defibrillator now?) " the cardiologist asked.

Amnon nodded no furiously and placed the two sticky pads on the patient. The first one was on the right side near the sternum and the second pad was on the lower left side of the chest. They were connected to the heart monitor in order to detect his heart rate after the patient woud get defibrillated.

" Tout le monde, recule! (Everyone, stand back!) " Amnon warned.

Severin, Rousseau, and the two nurses stepped away. Boris was silently weeping and praying in Luski for his father to be revived. Then, he casted Bio-Shock which his both hands were in a radiant bluish-white sparks for 2.5 kilowatts. He placed his both hands and delivered a shock. Suddenly, the heart monitor gained a spike from a flatline.

" TOUT EST CLAIR! (ALL CLEAR!) " Amnon exclaimed. " Il y est presque! (He's almost there!) "

Hilden's heartbeat from the monitor gained a little spike. Severin noticed it and performed another round of chest compression on the same spot. Clarisse observed the respiration from the patient as she kept pumping the bag mask. Boris kept praying for his father's recovery and saw him being revived. Severin and Clarisse finished their second round of resuscitation and turned to Amnon.

" ENCORE, RETENEZ-VOUS! (AGAIN, STAND BACK!) " he warned for the second time and casted Bio-Shock at the patient for 2.5 kilowatts. The resuscitating team followed the instruction.

Feeling zapped, Hilden finally gained consciousness and instantly opened his eyes in shock. He was tremblingly awakened and breathed normally. The heart monitor detected spikes from the patient's normal heartbeat.

" CLAIR! (CLEAR!) " Amnon remarked.

" Chto na Iliade?! Rebyata, chto vy zdes' delayete?! (What on Iliad?! What are you guys doing here?!) " Hilden loudly exclaimed in shock and saw everyone in his room. Rousseau, Severin, and the two nurses became dumbfounded since they couldn't understand a word of Luski. Boris wept for joy and heard his father gaining consciousness. Amnon wryly grinned and had a sweatbead, becoming embarrassed at his medical team.

" Izvinite za eto, oni ne mogli ponyat' Luski. Pozhaluysta, svyazhites' s nami na Neo-idrasi, yesli vy ne khotite slyshat' ili govorit' na Frankenskom yazyke. (Sorry about that, they couldn't understand Luski. Please communicate to us in Neo-Ydrassi if you don't want to hear or speak in Franken.) " Amnon reminded the recovering patient to his other language.

" Doktor Montmartre! Doktor Severin! Thank goodness! Spasiba! " the elderly Akrovian recognized his two physicians and laughed. " I have just come to see the dark tunnel and almost there to the light! Now, here I am! "

" Welcome back, monsieur Kastronov! " Severin smiled in reply and gently patted at the patient's shoulder.

" We are happy to see you again, monsieur, " Amnon sincerely smiled and shook hands at him.

Hilden again loudly laughed and tightly hugged them as the two nurses and Doctor Rousseau giggled at the three men. The general practitioner and the cardiologist felt suffocated and trapped at the Akrovian man's strong grip. Boris rubbed his eyes and saw his father's act.

" Pa, let them go! They can't move or breathe! " his son warned.

Hilden parted his arms from the two doctors and sighed to his embarrassment, " I am sorry. My bad..."

Boris hugged his father as Hilden hugged him back. Then, he said, " Pa, Mama Photis and Her Family wants you to get back on your feet. I prayed for you. "

" I know, my dear son. I know. Spasiba! I am getting a second chance of life. It's time to clean up the entire act in our circus. Boris, you are now in-charge of the business. You are a better ringmaster, manager, and owner than I am. I will just be your guide in helping to become the greatest show on Iliad. "

" Thank you, Pa. "

" I'm sorry for interrupting you, both. Can you tell me what happened before you experienced cardiac arrest? " Amnon curiously queried.

" Porcher..." Hilden heavily sighed and admitted. " He visited me an hour ago. I talked to him, asking him to leave the circus. He argued with me and said, ' I am going to take over whether you like it or not. You will just die and be forgotten. ' Then, he summoned a powerful magic and weakened me. Porcher really wanted me to die. Doktor Montmartre, Doktor Severin, I need your help. Please call the police and arrest him. Porcher is nothing, but a damned Umbral Cultist snake. "

Amnon instantly frowned and already knew the culprit. Severin and the others were astonished of the retired ringmaster's revelation.

" Monsieur Kastronov, I'll do my best to call the police, " his cardiologist assured and asked. " Can you tell me what does this Porcher look like? "

" Tall thin man with a beard and wearing a formal suit. He is one of my frequent visitors. "

Suddenly, a tall lanky elderly man peeked at the doorway and angrily gritted his teeth. Then, Amnon turned around and heatedly glared at him. He clenched his left fist, controlling his bioelectric spells. With the sudden burst of anger and rage, he dimmed his eyes and instantly rushed away from the room.

" Amnon! " Amèlie called her fellow physician and friend who had just immediately exited.

" Where did he- " Severin paused and exclaimed. " Sacrè bleu! I am supposed to call the police! Don't tell me, he's going to get after that Porcher! "

" You can't blame him, Severin. He's an ex-military and a former member of a contractor's guild at Odyssea Academy, " Amèlie said. " I'm sure he will hand that man over to the police. "

" But he should not get stressed himself to chase that cultist, we have the police! Gah, nevermind! "

" So, he's an army veteran turned doctor, Da?! " Hilden chuckled, commented, and raised his left hand in interjection. " Some old habits never die, but I'm sure he'll catch that snake. "

Going to the hallway, some patients and the medical staff eyed at the rushing general practitioner. He was chasing the Umbral cultist. Porcher became alarmed which he was running away from him. He reached the elevator and quickly got a ride going down to the lobby. Amnon almost caught him as the door automatically closed.

" Ay Blyat! " he furiously cussed in Luski and exasperatedly sighed.

Then, the doctor rushingly descended to the stairs and reached the ground floor's hallway. He spotted the Umbral cultist from a distance and dashed towards him. Amnon was about to get near him, however he failed in chasing him. Porcher was no longer on sight when a purple haired lady nurse stood in front of him. She was holding her clipboard and warmly smiling at him.

" Qu'est-ce qui ne va pas, Docteur Montmartre? Pourquoi cours-tu après cet homme? (What's wrong, Doctor Montmartre? Why are you chasing after that man?) " she curiously asked.

" Cheshire, le visiteur de ce patient est un meurtrier! Je suis censé l'amener à la police! Il a tenté d'assassiner un de nos patients! (Cheshire, that patient's visitor is a murderer! I'm supposed to bring him to the police! He has attempted to murder one of our patients!) " Amnon sternly replied.

Cheshire tilted her head, pretending to be innocent and oblivious. She softly spoke," Mon Dieu, je ne le savais pas! Je suis vraiment désolé. Je ne savais pas vraiment qu'il y avait un méchant à l'hôpital. (My, I didn't know that! I'm so sorry. I didn't really know there's a bad man in the hospital.) "

" Il est de notre responsabilité de protéger nos patients en plus de les soigner et de les guérir. Comprenez-vous même cela?! (It's our responsibility to protect our patients aside from treating and healing them. Do you understand?!) "

Cheshire had let out loud laugh which anyone could hear. The patients and the medical staff turned their attention to her. Amnon became too annoyed at her scandalous behavior and placed his both hands on his pockets. She stopped laughing and intently grinned.

" Mon Dieu, vous êtes un médecin si dévoué ! Impossible de rompre quoi que ce soit avec le serment d'Hippokratik! Vous ne pouvez sauver personne docteur et même vous-même! Les méchants sont partout et vous ne pouvez pas les arrêter vous-même! Suivez le courant et voyez le monde s'enflammer! (My, you're such a dedicated physician! Can't break anything from the Hippokratik Oath! You can't save anyone doctor and even yourself! Bad guys are everywhere and you can't stop them by yourself! Just go with the flow and see the world burn into flames!) "

The mad nurse yelped as Amnon immediately stepped away from her. Then, he seriously thought, " Porcher must be stopped along with the Ravenclaws. The Blue Knight has to do this. "

[Montmartre Residence 4:53 PM]

" So, you found an Umbral Cultist within the hospital, Da? " a deep male voice with a hard Akrovian accent asked.

" Pretty much, Father Agapov, " Amnon sighed and held the phone handset as he was sitting on the living room couch. "A retired ringmaster Hilden Kastronov happened to be controlled and influenced by the cultist suffered into two illnesses: coronary heart disease and Umbral branding curse. They made him suffering from a cardiac arrest. "

" Bozhe moi..." Mar-Vell muttered anxiously and replied. " I think your patient needs to be freed from the Umbral curse. I am actually thinking his severe condition came from a manipulation spell. "

" Knowing that, the patient has an underlying physical illness from a certain carefree lifestyle, but Porcher has been using and enhancing Kastronov's condition to murder him. "

" This is bad, Doktor Montmartre. Let's see what I can do tomorrow at the hospital, " the Akrovian Ouranist elf priest replied. " I also require your help in applying the Holy Water on him. "

" Sure, I'll see you tomorrow, then. Spasiba."

The call got ended when he placed the handset on the telephone's body. Just then, he noticed the living room mirror moved like water ripples and stood up from the couch. Suddenly, the imagery of the lady village elder in red appeared to him.

" Gozposha Merrill, Bonjour, " Amnon politely greeted her.

" Good afternoon, Doctor Montmartre, " Merrill calmly replied and smiled at him. " You have been very busy at the hospital and seemed harassed by someone. "

" You really can say that, gozposha. My group and I have resuscitated a patient with comorbidity. Then, he disclosed his murderer who happened to be an Umbral Cultist. "

" Then, you tried to follow and failed in capturing him, I presume? "

" Yes..." the tired physician heavily sighed. " A mad nurse just confronted me which I felt terrified in hearing her statement. Like how she could even say that since she's a frontliner?! "

Merrill nodded in agreement and read the doctor's mind. She intently looked at him and said, " I believe she's also one of the Umbral cult. You need to keep an eye on her for what she's doing at the hospital, Doctor Montmartre. "

" And what about Porcher the murderer? "

" The madman is preparing for his greatest show at Kastronov's circus. Sooner or later, that place of entertainment will become a place of death and disaster since the Ravenclaws are with him. "

" I guess the Blue Knight has to handle them with some of the fellow Dreadwolves. "

" Of course, doctor. You need to come at the village and pick up your white horse. Teach them a lesson. "

" Right, hold on. I need to take the armor. " Amnon nodded. " I'll be right back, gozposha. "

He picked up a large suitcase when his pregnant wife Glenda saw him coming from upstairs. She looked curiously at him and asked, " So, the Blue Knight is being called again? "

" He is, " Amnon nodded and cupped his wife's cheeks. " The murderer will start his greatest show as he needs to prevent that madman. "

" Murderer? "

" The one who almost killed Kastronov just this afternoon. "

" Oh, my! Right, I guess I have to watch you transform and wait for you then. I will reserve a left-over supper for you and tell anyone that you have left for some evening duty, " Glenda said.

" Thank you, Babe, " he kissed her cheeks as she smiled.

The physician spouses headed to the living room. Glenda smiled at the village elder from the mirror in greeting. Merrill warmly smiled back at the pregnant pediatrician and turned to Amnon.

" Ready, Doctor Montmartre? " she asked.

" Yes, gozposha. " he answered and held the breastplate of his armor.

" This is one that I love to see, " Glenda remarked.

Amnon nodded at his wife, removed his glasses on his face, and handed it to her. Glenda stepped back for herself and her child's safety. He took a deep breath and emitted his bioelectric spell as the pieces of the Blue Knight armor were attracting and attaching to his body. Just then, his mother Karola had come from the kitchen and finished drinking her glass of water and medicine. She saw some sparks of bluish-white light emanating from the living room. Karola followed the radiant electricity, widened her eyes shock and gasped to see her son transforming as the Blue Knight. Glenda turned around and noticed her mother-in-law standing beside her.

" Bozhe moi! " Karola exclaimed to her surprise. " I didn't know the Blue Knight has returned through my son! How is that possible?! "

" Mama, I think Amnon and I have to explain this to you, later. Just promise us to keep this as a secret? Okay? " Glenda unnervedly answered.

" D-Da, " she hesitantly nodded.

Finally, Amnon held his helmet and wore it, returning his alter-ego's senses. The Blue Knight confronted his wife and elderly mother.

" Doctor Montmartre, please look after her and the child, " a deep male voice spoke and gently cupped her smooth and soft cheeks.

" I will, my love, " she sincerely smiled at her armored spouse and held his right hand. " I'll be waiting for you. "

" I'll come home soon, " he had his metallic face near to his wife.

" A long time ago. Your father used to be the Blue Knight. Now, I am seeing him through you. Udachi, moy dorogoy mal'chik. (Good luck, my dear boy.) " Karola said.

" I'll be back..."

The Blue Knight hugged his wife and mother and picked up his sword Voltaic Blade which he received it from the day after he received the armor. Then, he stepped into the mirror and went to the village. He was ready to face another wave of enemies.

[Bonapartre Park, Monoceros Keep, Foranea 5:30 PM, 29th of Umbral-Tide/Darktide, Year 426]

The area of this park where the Kastronov Circus remained was so silent as the policemen arrived. An Elven investigative journalist once again was assigned to write the story in relation to the incident from four days ago. The Aldernian detective and his two Foranean fellows came. The sun was setting as the cold breeze roamed around the air.

" So, we will continue this investigation, I presume? " Liere asked his colleagues.

Neil nodded at Liere, " Yes. "

" Tier, everyone, let's put the game set a foot, " Shemlock reminded and gestured the three. The other police back-ups were with them.

" I must remind you all to be careful. I'm not loosing anyone else to these cultists, " the phooka inspector insisted.

" Inspecteur, we make sure the back-ups are with us, " Liere answered and held his camera.

Shemlock intently looked at the area and saw the broken benches everywhere. He noticed a smear of blood on the ground which seemed to be a clue.

" Monsieur Homes, what is it? " Liere asked.

" Traces of blood lead to another lead to the suspect. He or she might be doing a blood sacrifice to an Umbral god offering, " the Aldernian detective answered.

" Seem someone has quite the mini riot here, " Tier said.

Liere took photographs from his camera as Neil wrote what he had seen.

" It's not just a mini-riot. It could be a staged murder from yesterday, " Shemlock deduced.

" So far doesn't seem like a staged murder. Too much chaos here, " the Inspector answered.

" Wait, I smelled something, " Liere sniffed and coughed. " It looks like a dead creature. "

" Neil, do you smell that too? " Shemlock turned to the elven journalist.

" Yep, " Neil coughed uncontrollably. " Damn, Bloody Hell! It's really bad. "

" A cadaver..." Shemlock muttered lowly.

Liere and Shemlock followed the blood trail as it was leading at the animal cage. They noticed a deceased woman's body being placed there for good.

Tier sighed at the deceased woman's body, " Sacrè bleu! Look like another victim. "

Shemlock examined the deceased as Liere took a photograph of the deceased person. Her body was lying lifeless. It was a day of livor and rigor mortis which her eyes remained open.

" The victim was killed from yesterday. She had multiple stab wounds on her abdominal area and severe blood loss, " he deduced.

" So, that means the blood sacrifice was done, " Liere surmised.

" Definitely. "

Neil got stumbled when he saw a dagger with strange markings. Then, it pointed to the blood writing on the fallen wooden plank.

" Monsieur Carter, do you see something? " Liere asked.

" A dagger with odd markings. Perhaps a ritual dagger, "Neil answered and picked it up to examine it.

" Look! " Liere pointed at the wooden plank.

Tier intently looked at the writing on the wooden plank and surmised, " Hmm, some kind of message maybe? "

ALL HAIL, LORD ALGOS AND LADY APELPISIA!

" Some kind of proclamation, " the inspector answered his colleagues.

" Umbral god of Pain and Torture is Algos. Apelpisia is the goddess of fear and dread, " Shemlock recalled his studies back in Odyssea Academy.

" How can this circus happen to be an Umbral temple of worship? " Liere asked curiously

" We do have a suspect who could be a member of the cult. He has connections to them. "

Tier and Neil also found another poster of the Kastronov circus with some splatter of blood.

" If the circus was meant to act like an Umbral Temple, no wonder Porcher wanted full control of it, " Tier said and intently eyed on it. Neil nodded and picked it up as he saw a message.

LORD MILO GRANTED US A PLACE OF SACRIFICE.

Liere saw another poster of the Kastronov circus and also read from the back.

HILDEN AND BORIS KASTRONOV WILL BE NEXT TO DIE.

Shemlock took another blood message from the scattered poster.

THE REST WILL DIE LIKE THIS CLOWN WOMAN HERE.

" Sacrè Bleu," Liere muttered anxiously and moved his head around. " This place is cursed! "

" We need to head back to the hospital and warn everyone. I fear the Umbral Cultists will attack it in order to kill the Kastronov family and the entire troupe, " Tier said.

Suddenly, a loud upbeat circus music was being played. As an elf, Neil could hear some chattering and evil laughter of the elves from a distance. The other three men remained alert and in their defensive stances. The lights were pointing at the four sleuths. They were being cornered at the moment.

" Neil, do you hear something aside from this music? " Shemlock asked.

" Evil laughter. I believe they're trying to taunting us, " Neil answered and got into a defensive stance.

" Ladies and Gentlemen! People of all ages, the show must go on, thanks to the Foranean Police! " a male voice loudly echoed. " Why do we give them a round of applause! "

The dark elves appeared as the audience and some were circus stunts. The four men surprisingly saw their back-ups being caged like lions and elephants, crying for help.

" Bravo, messieurs! Bravo! Bravo! " a tall lanky bearded man in a suit clapped his hands. " Ah, you have just arrived in time for the show! My name's Creedance Leery, messieurs! You will be all my front acts for tonight's performance! "

" Enough of the damn wicked circus! " Liere angrily retorted.

" There are too many of them, maybe we should consider coming back with reinforcements, " Neil insisted.

" I'm afraid if we don't have time to communicate with the Foranean Army right now, " Shemlock reminded.

Neil sighed exasperately, " What do we do then? "

" Inspecteur, do you still know someone who can help us? " Liere asked Tier.

" No, unless you know a way to contact the Blue Knight, " Tier sadly answered Liere.

" The Blue Knight?! Where on Iliad is he?! "

" Ah...you four brave men act like a bunch of cowards! What's the matter? Can't you perform tonight? " the man taunted and laughed.

" We know who you really are...Sèvère Porcher. You have just set this up! " Shemlock indignantly stressed his words.

" Is this the great Shemlock Homes of Alderny?! Oh, I have heard a lot of things about you! A detective-mage who goes along with his Foranean police friends came to solve crimes! Not anymore, monsieur Homes! " Porcher evilly grinned.

" Shut up! "

" You're going to pay for what you done to my colleagues and innocents! " Tier shouted at Porcher.

" Shut up?! Shut up?! " the mad ringmaster loudly laughed and turned to the Ravenclaws. " Do you hear that anyone?! "

The Ravenclaws loudly laughed at the four cornered men and the caged policemen. Tier and the others indignantly glared at them.

" Oh, they found it very entertaining! " Porcher grinned and turned to Tier. " Such a feisty phooka police inspector, you are! If you and your fellows will defile me. You know what will happen! It's a common sense for everyone to face your fate and fears. Is that right?! "

" What you did is damn torture?! " Liere angrily spoke.

" Torture, eh?! " the Foranean madman repeated and taunted." You want that to happen?! "

" No, we want you to shut up. You called us cowards, yet you don't want come down here to face us by yourself. I wonder who the coward. You're not worth it to be called a cultist! "

The Ravenclaws heard another response and exchanged glances as they cried 'boo!' in unison. Porcher evilly smirked at the four men.

" Awww, what's the matter, messieurs? Why don't you entertain us?! " he mused and followed by a manic laughter.

" Enough of this! " Tier shouted as he took out his pistol and started shooting at Porcher.

Porcher dodged at the bullets and carried the large box, " You want to take it seriously, then?! Demerof! "

" Not again..." Shemlock muttered angrily.

" I am called the great Imuthis of Hetland as I lived in the Period of the Black Sun! You instigators are trying to destroy the church of Umbral Spheres! You will see what will unfold for the rest you! You have defiled this sacred place for the Lords and Ladies of Darkness! You dared to infiltrate and destroy this place! It's about time to confront your despair and doom! "

" Not destroyed it, give it back to it's rightful owners. You malicious unnatural creation! " Tier said and fired the last of his bullets at the talking head.

Porcher conjured a spell to make the bullets into ashes. The rest of the Ravenclaws applauded their human ringmaster. Liere attempted to snap his fingers and formed a ray of light, but he failed since the presence of Umbral magic came from the head.

" Zut a-lors! " the lieutenant muttered in disappointment.

" Does anyone have a plan? " Tier whispered to his colleagues.

" Umbral magic is present on the head as well as Porcher, " Shemlock answered." If we retaliate, there are tendencies to backfire. "

" This is really ridiculous! How come we cannot fight them?! There must be someone else aside from Porcher and those freakish dark elves! " Liere whined.

" The Blue Knight? " Neil said curiously.

" But where is he?! " Shemlock asked.

" Good job, my dear Sèvère! " a woman's deep voice echoed.

" Ah, medames Agatha and Salem, you are thrilled to see our performers for tonight! " Porcher turned around and greeted politely at the hooded elven women who watched this scene.

" So, is this a time for their blood sacrifice or oblivion? " Salem asked.

" I want it both, my dear sister! " Agatha loudly laughed. " I want these brave four men and their fellows be forgotten for good! "

Tier, Liere, and Shemlock recalled the interrogation of Leafa Ivy which she mentioned of Porcher dealing with the two elven sisters. They exchanged glances and knew what was happening. On the other hand, Neil became anxious since he saw the two hooded women and imagined them as agents of death. They unveiled themselves which both of the sisters were pale-skinned and dark markings on their faces. Agatha had a long jet black hair while her older sister Salem had white hair.

Agatha and Salem evilly laughed along with Porcher which they knew what to do with the Foranean policemen and the two Aldernians. The rest of the Ravenclaws were anticipating to see another blood sacrifice to be made. Neil was hearing something from a distance which it was a sound of a galloping horse touching from the ground. Shemlock, Tier, and Liere turned their attention to the elven journalist.

" Did you hear something, monsieur Carter? " Liere asked.

" Yea, a horse galloping. Who would be riding a horse at this time? " Neil wondered.

" Do you think it's...." the lieutenant paused when they saw the circus tent being slashed and formed an opening.

" The Blue Knight? " Tier asked.

The other caged police officers saw a metallic blue armored man riding a horse and holding his sword. He saw the four men cornered by the two sisters and Porcher. The Ravenclaws murmured in gibberish and thought of attacking the intruder.

" It's the Blue Knight! " Neil shouted.

The Blue Knight jumped out of his horse and held his sword, becoming vigilant and deeply thinking of what to do. He defiantly glared at the Ravenclaws and the three people who supported them.

" So, this is the mysterious warrior of Foranea! What a pitiful whelp! " Porcher furiously scoffed and yelped. " Quel paraisseux! (How lame!) "

" I knew this man! " Agatha indignantly spoke and pointed at the intruder. " He attacked our children twice! "

" The champion of Robania and Foranea has returned, " Salem retorted. " What are you upto? "

" I am here to end your terrors in this place! " the Blue Knight seriously replied.

" Why are you going to end us, oh Blue Knight?! " Agatha taunted and laughed. " You don't know what we can do to their performance! "

" Don't waste my damn time, woman! "

" Since when we are wasting our time, hmmm?! "

" Several. You placed death threats with the circus people and others involved! "

" Well, I guess we can let him see Imuthis, first! " Porcher suggested.

" I have no place for your damn Umbral tricks..."
