"Just picture it, Tae!" Jeongguk yelled, hands waving around motioning at the wall.

"Bun, I am and it looks ugly," Taehyung replied crossing his arms.

"You're ugly."

"Hey!"

Jeongguk threw him a glare and they continued going back and forth as Aecha comes home from remedial classes. She knots her brows and let her schoolbag slide off her back and onto the side of the couch.

"What's going on?" she questioned her siblings who were sitting around the living room as if nothing was happening. Minjun and Heiran were playing some kind of video game while Byeonsul was doing his homework on the ground while watching them play.

"They're fighting over the accent wall again," Minjun answered not taking his eyes off the screen. Aecha sighed and took a seat on the couch right beside Heiran.

"I thought they agreed on black wallpaper last night." Jeongguk wanted black. Taehyung wanted a unique wallpaper design.

"They couldn't find one they both liked so they went back to their original ideas," Minjun explained while furiously tapping on the controller.

"Oh! So close," he exclaimed dropping it on his lap and Heiran began laughing for her victory.

"My turn!" Byeonsul exclaimed, abandoning his homework and running over to his brother.

"I believe in you champ, bring us back our honour," Minjun said standing up to Byeonsul sit down. "Yes sir!" he played along.

"Move over," Minjun said kicking Aecha's leg.

"No," she replied pointing her chin up. Minjun grimaced and just forced his way through between the girls, ignoring Heiran's complaints. Aecha gave in and moved to edge.

"There's room over there, stupid," Aecha said crossing her arms.

"I wanna sit here, stupid," he said mocking her tone. Aecha sighed and kicked his leg back.

"Jeez, learn to respect your elders," Minjun said shoving her shoulder.

"Shut up, unless you want me to tell ajusshis about your little fight at-"

Minjun gasped, and placed a hand over his sister's mouth. "Be quiet you little devil child," he whisper-yelled then quickly took it back. "I mean, oh my so w-wise and pre-pretty sister," he said through gritted teeth looking as if he could throw up and removing his hand.

Aecha smiled as Minjun moved away, once again ignoring Heiran's complaints, to give her more space. She crossed her leg and flipped her air. "Yeah that's right, be scared."

Minjun rolled his eyes, he only went to fight 'cause they messed with their school first and no one even spilled any blood since it was broken up quickly. He is Taehyung and Jeongguk's son after all, it's a phase he must overcome.

"I know you have a boyfriend," Minjun said crossing his arms.

"Nope," Aecha said with a grin.

"Girlfriend," Minjun quickly said.

"Nope."

"Datefriend."

"Nope."

"Crush."

"Nope."

"You're lying to me."

Aecha giggled. "Am I?"

Minjun sighed, making a mental note to dig some dirt about her so they're even.

"Tannie, you woke up. C'mere boy," Aecha said motioning him over. The two forgot about their little dispute as Aecha picked up Yeontan. Minjun rubbed the back of his head with a grin.

"Minjun needs a haircut." As he opened his mouth to say more, the old couple's voice got louder.

"Fine! Do you what you want! Paint it neon green for all I care!" Jeongguk yelled and stormed away.

"Wow, fine, leave! Neon green it is!" Taehyung screamed back as Jeongguk made his way upstairs. The older huffed before going over to the kitchen to prepare dinner. They never tried to keep their little arguments quiet, forgetting their children could even hear.

The kids all gave each other a look. Usually, they figured it out themselves so they've never tried to step in. It's a silly fight, they'll come to another compromise eventually.

Dinner was quiet. The day before when they'd been arguing over the same subject, Taehyung placed a perfectly cut piece of chicken in Jeongguk bowl of rice and that somehow softened up the hot-head for them to make up. They hadn't said a single word as of yet to each other.

"So, Taehyung-ajusshi," Aecha broke the silence. "I joined the art club today."

"Oh, really? That's wonderful sweetheart. Trust me, you're going to have so much fun," Taehyung said to her with a warm smile.

"And I wanna try for the basketball team at my school!" Heiran chipped in.

"Oh right, I'll sign the permission form, baby," Jeongguk said patting her head.

"What about you Byeonsul-ah, you don't want to join any activities or clubs?" Taehyung asked.

"Nope. Piano is fun enough," he said with a thumbs up. Taehyung nodded returning a thumb of his own.

"How did the debate go, Junie?" Jeongguk continued with their family chatter.

"Okay, didn't win. Could've done better, Sunni brought up a lot of unexpected points. Then when I went over to congratulate them, they have the audacity to say 'better luck next time'! Like, who says that? Seo Sunni of course, pft," he went off and his family looks at him wondering what was so wrong with it. He's also ranted about the opposing team captain so much that they know their name. The Kim-Jeon's all secretly ship it.

"Anyways, dads," Minjun moved on (he'd grown out of using father long ago and it's only brought up to tease him about it, "it's was just a phase" he'd say). Aecha gave him a look telling him to thread carefully.

"There's a twin day coming up right?" Minjun continued, talking about when Taehyung's twin brothers take Heiran and Byeonsul to watch a movie whenever it featured twins as main characters. It was a weird tradition but it's been alive for some time now.

"Mhm," Jeongguk hummed while chewing.

"So I won't have to babysit the twins, plus the next day is a Sunday, so Taehyung dad will be home."

"Right."

"So I was wondering, if my friend and I could take a quick train ride to Daegu and back?" Minjun said it as fast as he could as if that would get a more positive feedback.

"Absolutely not," Taehyung and Jeongguk calmly said at the same time. They shared a look before quickly turning away and give their attention back to Minjun.

"It's just two days and a night! Senior year memories, you know?" Minjun tried to reason.

"Do you know how far Daegu is? If there's an emergency, me and Dad can't make it there in time," Jeongguk explained.

"Especially if Jeon Dad's on duty," Taehyung added.

Minjun frowned and decided to drop it. His parents sighed and shared another look.

"Will there be adult supervision?" Jeongguk asked.

The boy's face instantly brightened up. "Of course! Daewhi's older brother is coming too!"

Jeongguk chewed on his bottom lip and looked at Taehyung, asking his opinion to with his eyes ask the two were adamant on continuing with the silent treatment.

"We'll think about it," Taehyung said and Minjun nodded enthusiastically. It was better than a no.

Dinner ended without an exchange of words between the couples. Minjun volunteered to wash all the dishes even though it wasn't his turn in hopes of increasing his chances, so everyone headed up to their rooms.

"I'll place an order for the green paint tomorrow," Taehyung spoke first after the two got changed into their matching pyjamas.

"Fantastic," Jeongguk replied, picking up his book and heading to their bed.

"You're so stubborn," Taehyung said, applying his face cream.

"You've known that since day one and you still chose to marry me, hm?" Jeongguk replied, flipping through the pages to find where he left off.

"You-" Taehyung began. " I can be stubborn too, you know."

"Mhm, sure, Softie," Jeongguk said, turning to next page. Taehyung rolled his eyes and removed his headband. He got into bed and turned off his side's table lamp.

"Just order the wallpaper," Jeongguk groaned.

"Well I can't be the only happy one. We'll just be unhappy together."

"Oh what perfect logic."

The man huffed a breath. "Goodnight," Taehyung said harshly with his back facing him.

"'Night old man," the younger replied in the same tone.

A couple hours or so passes. Jeongguk was still reading his book and Taehyung couldn't sleep without having his husband around his arms. They usually tried to end their little fights before bed but it was one of the rare occasions.

Two little knocks get both their attention. Taehyung sat up while Jeongguk set his book down. "Come in," he said.

"Suprise!" all of them yelled. Jeongguk and Taehyung's eyes widen not understanding what was going on as they approached them with a cake and candles.

"Happy anniversary!" their children chanted together again as they reached their bed. The couple looked at each other and realized they both had forgotten completely. It was hard keeping track of everything when there's 4 kids to be taken care of.

"Oh wow," Jeongguk said and they motioned at the cake, decorated in purple frosting with gold and red sprinkles , to blow out the candles.

Taehyung moved over to Jeongguk's side and placed his head over his shoulder so that they could blow the candles. The kids cheered once they'd blown them all out.

"Thank you, loves, when did you guys do all of this," Taehyung said while they both took turns kissing their cheeks.

"There's more," Minjun said and set the cake down. They all ran to the doorstep where they left their gifts sitting.

"There's more!" Jeongguk repeated with a chuckle.

The twins gave their gifts first. They both each made a homemade card and a box of chocolates they bought together with their allowance. Minjun had a part time job so he could afford a couple's set of bracelets. Aecha crotched them both a matching sweaters, with pretty designs all around.

"And finally," Aecha brought a canvas which wasn't gift wrapped. She flipped it over to reveal the work.

"Is that..." Taehyung couldn't believe it.

"I think so," Jeongguk said taking the painting from the girl. Taehyung laughed fondly, remembering the result of their little paint fight from all those years ago.

"I was helping clean up the art room and this was in storage. I recognized the signatures," Aecha explained.

"Thank you, Aechie," Jeongguk said with a wide smile.

"It'll go perfectly on the accent wall," Minjun commented and Aecha gave him a quick shove for bringing that up.

They thanked them again and set all the gifts aside. One by one, they said goodnight and left the room. Aecha was the last and stood at the entrance holding onto the doorknob.

"Goodnight. Happy anniversary... dads, " she said then took a deep breath. "I'm sorry it took me so long, but you're truly the best dads I could've ever asked for. I love you both you so much," She gave them a quick smile before shutting the door.

The couple stood in front of their bed motionlessly, scared if they moved something would happen to ruin it.

"Did she just call us..?" Jeongguk's voice shook.

"Yeah," Taehyung gave a breathy reply. Jeongguk turned around to look at the older and they shared a knowing smile. They understood how hard it was for her to address them that way, it'd mean she'd have to accept her biological parents were actually gone, so they wanted to give her all the time she'd need. They would've been fine with her continuing to keep calling them ajusshi, she'd still be their daughter no matter what.

"Oh wow," Taehyung sounded when the two began to let a few tears slip. They grinned at each other and Taehyung was the first to pull the other into a hug. Jeongguk wrapped his arms around the man tightly and they didn't budge for a few moments.

Taehyung leaned back to look at his husband. They let their forehead rest against each other. Taehyung cupped a side of Jeongguk's face and wiped away the tears on his cheeks.

"Happy anniversary, Bun."

Jeongguk chuckled. "Happy anniversary."

Taehyung placed a small kiss on his nose and when he pulled back, Jeongguk connected their lips.

"I'm sorry," Jeongguk said first after pulling back and wiping again at their tear-stained cheeks. "We can do the wallpaper, your choices always look great."

"No. No, I'm sorry too. Let's do the black paint," Taehyung said.

After a moment of silence, the younger chirped, "Okay!"

"Wh–" Taehyung was cut off as Jeongguk placed a peck on his lips. "Love you," he said and slipped away and getting onto their bed.

Taehyung scoffed. "Okay, but that's your anniversary gift!"

"Fair. Thank you love of my life," Jeongguk said in a sing-song voice and a bright smile. Taehyung knew they'd go for the black paint in the end anyways, the younger was his only weakness.

"So where's my gift, hm?"

"C'mere and I'll show you."

Yeah, they'll never be too old for that.

"You know, the black's not too bad," Taehyung said as he stopped to stare at the wall with their painting hanging in the centre along with a few family pictures around.

"Told you." Jeongguk chuckled while giving his husband a side hug and a peck on his cheek. "C'mon, we're going to be late to Byeonsul's recital."

"Oh! I left the tickets upstairs, just a second," Taehyung said and quickly ran to the stairs.

Jeongguk crossed his arms and returned his gaze to the wall as Minjun joined him by his side.

"You hate it, don't you?" Minjun said, and Jeongguk wasn't suprised the boy could read him so well.

"Shush, don't tell your dad."

"As long as you help me go to Daegu."

They both turned their heads to each other. Jeongguk squinted his eyes, wondering if he should do something about his son exploiting his little secret to get his way.

"Deal," Jeongguk said giving up and they both nodded before breaking into smiles.

"What are we smiling about?" Aecha asked joining them.

"About Min Hu-," Minjun began to test the little information he found but was cut off as Aecha began to yell. She pursed her lips and that started their little chase around the house. Jeongguk didn't bother to stop them as all of his previous attempts go in vain and would not like to think about his baby girl being at the age to find herself a romantic partner just yet.

"Got it! Let's hit the road!" Taehyung yelled coming down the stairs. Aecha and Minjun stopped running around, Heiran cut short her pep talk with her twin, did their lucky handshake and they all scrambled to get to the front door.

Before getting in their jeep, Aecha made them stop and got out her phone. "Say 'you are the best, cutie Byeonsul'!" she exclaimed. They all said it in different speeds at different times while trying to smile while Byeonsul began to complain about the "cutie" bit. The picture came out very odd but it was perfect for the family.

Imperfections and quirks are embraced at the Kim-Jeon household, after all. Everything was exactly as they were meant to be.
