six: the date
"Mind if I borrow Jeongguk for the rest of the day?" Taehyung approached the group of boys after school.
"You've been taking up a lot of Gguk's time lately, Taehyung-ah, what's up?"
"Stick your nose up someone else's ass, Jiho. But fine, you wanna know? I'm just obsessed with him. What can I say, I'm a yandere," Taehyung answered in a sarcastic voice that almost didn't sound sarcastic. He grabbed Jeongguk's hand without warning and began dragging him away from the school.
"The fuck, why would you tell him that? You sicko, let me go," the red-head struggled. "Where are we even going."
"On a date," Taehyung answered innocently.
"I'm not into dudes, Softie, and definitely not into you."
"It's a friendship date, you dimwit!"
"The fuck is a friendship date?" Jeongguk managed to finally loosen from the grip of the older. He would've gone back to his friends but to be honest, they didn't have much of plan other than heading to their hangout spot. He'd much rather first figure out what stupid ideas the older had in store today.
"It's like a date, minus the couple-y stuff. If we're gonna be friends, we need to learn about each other."
"Never said I wanted to be your friend."
"Jeongguk," Taehyung whined with a pout. The older's cool persona to fades away as soon as it shows up.
The younger ighed, annoyed with how high the boy's voice could go. "Fine, what're we gonna do?"
"We're going to... drumroll please," Taehyung began smacking Jeongguk's shoulder to produce some sounds as they crossed the street. "A cat café!"
"Really, a cat café?" This only earned the younger a nod. "You've got to be kidding me," he mumbled to himself.
Taehyung threw his arm around the red-head's shoulder like he usually would with any of his friends. Jeongguk being him, of course pushed it away, and Taehyung being Taehyung, kept trying over and over again just to tease him.
"Yah!"
The older raised his arm in defence. "Alright, alright, I'll stop." Which Taehyung did for a few minutes, and then he proceeded to put Jeongguk in a headlock, and began messing up his hair. This only earned a hard stomp on his foot and complains from the younger for ruining his hair until they arrived at their destination.
"It's nearly empty!" Taehyung exclaimed in joy. "All the cute kitties for us." Jeongguk was also glad by the fact that there were fewer chances of someone he knew seeing him there.
As soon as they entered, the older rushed over to pick up the first cat he saw. An employee then came and led them to a table for two. They both ordered some drink and Taehyung asked for a couple snacks as well.
The older was enjoying himself, petting a white Persian cat. He finally looked up to see Jeongguk having an intense competition staring competition with a hairless cat.
"Are you alright?"
"That cat is naked," he answered in a monotone voice, eyes still not blinking as he pointed at the cat.
This remark made Taehyung burst out laughing. "You're so weird. Anyways, we came here to know each other."
"'Kay."
The older sighed. "I'll just ask you a bunch of questions, then you can ask me some. Alright." Jeongguk just nodded as he pulled out his phone and began fiddling on it.
"Hmmm, let's start with the basic. What's your favourite colour?"
"Black."
"Are you from Seoul?"
"No, Busan."
"Oh, Jiminie's from Busan too. I'm from Daegu."
"Cool."
"What's your favourite sport."
"Everything I guess."
"Do you have a pet?"
"No."
"I do, a Pomeranian. His name's Yeontan."
"Nice."
Taehyung was honestly getting tired of this short answers and no eye contact, but he at least got a few words out of the boy so he continued.
"Mmm," the brunet thought of what to ask next. "Do you play video games?"
"Yeah."
"Me too. What games? Do you like Overwatch?"
"You play Overwatch?" Jeongguk said with a bit too much excitement, but he finally looked up. Taehyung could've swore he saw sparkles in the younger's eyes. "I mean, yeah, it's cool," he said again, but lowering his tone.
Taehyung chuckled a little. "Yeah, it's my favourite. Usually play as Tracer or D. va."
"They're pretty good, but can't be beat me as Widowmaker."
"Oh, really?" the older said in a very challenging tone.
"What, don't believe me?"
"Not until I see it with my own two eyes!"
"You're on!" Jeongguk was the very competitive type.
They quickly finished what they had ordered and rushed the the closest Internet cafe. After quickly renting two computers, they began playing against each other.
"You fucking suck!" Jeongguk screamed as he furiously pressed keys to attack the older.
"Shut up and play!" Taehyung retorted, sweat forming around his forehead.
"And that's it ladies and gentlemans, JeonJ7 has proven to the world that he is the best!" the red-head said victoriously, making his voice deeper to sound like an anchorman, after he had basically won. His randomized teammates praised him before leaving.
Taehyung sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Good game."
"Aww, you look so heartbroken," Jeongguk teased with a very fake look of pity, then began laughing and clapping his hands, his set of bunny tooth fully exposed.
The older couldn't help but smile. "Ah, this kid is too cute," he mumbled to himself.
"Did you say something?" the younger took a dramatic pause before continuing, "loser?"
"That's it! One more round, and I won't hold myself back this time!" Taehyung declared with the little amount of pride he had left.
They played a few more times before the older finally admitted to defeat. Hunger crept its way to the red-head.
"Alright alright, you're the best, happy?" Taehyung said, logging off.
"Very. Now, the loser has treat the winner with some black bean noodles!"
"What happened to not wanting to hang out with me?" Taehyung asked, resting his chin on his hand, staring at the younger thought the crack between computers.
"I'm not letting you off the hook that easily, Kim. I won fair and square and the least I deserve is food. You're lucky I'm not asking you to be my personal butler for a week," the boy explained. He quickly logged off and stood up from his seat. "Let's go."
There was a nice Korean BBQ restaurant near, so they settled on that. "Alright, order anything you want. My treat," Taehyung had said. Jeongguk began asking for all his favourite items. He also was put in charge of cooking all the meat properly, as the older wasn't the best at such things.
"Here," the red-head put a couple pieces of meat on the older's plate.
"Thank you," Taehyung said a little surprised. He'd been seeing a whole different Jeongguk for the past hour or so. Was his plan actually working? He seemed to be enjoying the younger's company quite a lot, and hope the other felt the same.
"Softie?" Jeongguk tried snapping the boy out of his trance. "Stop staring and eat."
"Have you always had big eyes?" Taehyung ignored everything the red-head said and proceeded with his curious mind.
"What? Uh, yeah. I get it from my mom, I think."
The older just nodded, trying to look deeper into his eyes. There was just something about them that was so... intriguing.
"Y-yah! Stop staring, it's creepy as fuck."
"Right, sorry. It's just you— never mind, let's eat."
The two continued eating until both their stomachs were full to the brim. Taehyung payed as promised, and before the two knew it, the sun was setting, and darkness would soon wash over.
"Where do you live, I'll walk you there," the older said as the both left the restaurant.
"I thought there wasn't gonna be any couple-y stuff, why are you tryna know where I live?"
"Why can't you just let me be a nice sunbae? And I have no homework, so I have nothing to do going home early."
Jeongguk sighed. "I live close, I can walk alone."
"Oh c'mon, I'll just follow you."
"Do whatever you want."
They walked by each other, the sound of the blowing wind and rustling leaves filled the silence. The sun was nearly gone, leaving the sky with beautiful hues of orange, salmon pink and blue. The October sky was a peaceful sight.
Soon enough, they reached Jeongguk's home. It was the biggest as well as the most lit house on the block. Taehyung stared up at the house as Jeongguk went to buzz the intercom.
"Damn, your house is as big as mine, except a bit more modern," Taehyung said in awe. Another buzz was heard before the gates to what seemed like a mansion opened.
"I wish it was smaller," the younger mumbled under his breath as he looked at Taehyung.
"Hmm? Did you say something?"
"Nothing, bye."
"Woah, woah, woah! Not even a goodnight kiss to end our date?" Taehyung stopped him.
The red-head turned back to see the boy smiling wide. "Fuck off."
"Goodbye, love! 'Till our second date!" the older joked on some more, only to earn a middle finger.
Taehyung turned on his heel and began making way to his own home. He looked up as he walked, a habit he had when he was alone, when the sky was his only company. The October sky was quite the sight.

Okay I'll be honest with y'all, I 100% googled quickly about overwatch for that bit so I'm sorry if I wrote something wrong!
Edit: I know I wrote Tae had Tannie but I forgot to add him into the actual fic (ajssk ihm) so if you don't see him again after this small mention it's because he went on a puppy vacation
Bye<3
