seventeen: cherry knot

They managed to arrive in the middle of second period due to the help of Saejoon opening the parking lot door for them. The teachers weren't quite pleased as usual, but there wasn't much they could do other than detention, which the two had no plan in attending. Lunch had come in an instant, and the five boys met up to hear of Minki's "genius" plans.

"So the snow covered the rooftop, meaning we need a new hangout spot, right?" Minki started.

The boys groaned. "Just get to you point, dude."

"Okay, okay. What about the left-wing building?"

"You mean the archery area?" Taehyung asked, crossing his arms, and Minki nodded in response. The silver-head rose an eyebrow. "Where it's strictly rich kids?"

The archery room wasn't always there until the rich kids of Bangtan High teamed up together one year and funded for the supplies to build it. As long as it was payed, the principal at the time complied. They are long gone graduates, but it's known to be a team where only kids with loaded pocket money are allowed the enter.

Of course the teachers don't know, but only rich kids ever try out for the team so it worked out. They take who enters the archery room quite seriously. Practices are after school, but there are the occasional students who practice during lunch, even thought archery takes place in autumn.

"Yeah," Minki stretched, "But you and Gguk are rich fuckers."

"So?" Jeongguk questioned, scoffing slightly.

"So, you guys get in there, kick out anynone, and tell'em we gonna use it for the rest of winter."

Namsoon sighed. "You really think that's gonna work?"

"We almost got the student council lounge, why not?" the red-head defended. He didn't quite like hanging out in the halls as it attracted to much attention, and the archery room should be filled with perks.

"Joon's still pissed about that. Well, if it's only a few kids, it won't be bad," Taehyung began to agree.

And so they decided to go on with the plan. The three boys stayed behind as Taehyung and Jeongguk took of through the doors connecting the separate building if they could call it that. As soon as they entered, all three pairs of female eyes were on them. Jeongguk smirked, thinking that this was going to be easier that they had thought.

"Welcome," Jennie started. Not only was she ranked as the prettiest girl in the school, she was also the captain of the archery team. "How can we help you two?"

"Maybe they want to try a little bit of archery?" one of the other girls suggested, adding a quick giggle.

Jeongguk looked at them as if he was questioning their sanity, not understanding what was funny. His statement of not being able to comprehend girls only becoming stronger. "Isn't archery season over?" Jeongguk began, taking a seat on of the very comfortable bean bag chair.

"Taking them under my wing for next year. We need a new captain after all," Jennie stated simply. "Do you boys want to try?"

Taehyung shook his head slowly, approaching the girl. He gave a sharp look to the other two girls. "You two are still here?"

The girls's eyes went wide and immediately put down their bows. They ran away to the exit giggling, making Jeongguk roll his eyes and throw his arms up in the air with another groan. "The fuck is their deal?"

"Well, what's yours?" she asked back, but her tone alluring instead of annoyed like the red-head.

"We were wondering if we could use the archery room as our hangout. You guys aren't even playing now, so why not give it to us? Just till winter's over," Taehyung explained.

Jennie turned her gaze from the boy to Taehyung, a mischievous smile forming to her lips. "And what do we— I get in this?"

Taehyung felt something push him to play along with whatever she was trying to pull. A smirk formed to his sinful lips watching Jennie budge closer and closer until they could feel each other's breath tingle against the other's skin. Her eye shape somehow shifted, resembling those of the sly Cheshire cat. Jeongguk's face distorted into a confused expression as he watched the scene unfold with both disgust and anger.

"What do you want?" Taehyung asked, as he got closer on his share. His voice seemed to have gone low and quiet, but yet very smooth.

"What do you have to offer?" she said, using her arrow to hover over his most defined facial features, catching the attention of Taehyung's eyes as it followed after the metal stick.

"Stop playing games, Jennie," the silver-head said playfully, making the girl release a short laugh.

Jeongguk couldn't watch more, subconsciously poking the side of his cheek with his tongue. He didn't know why he was getting so riled up, but he was certainly going to do something about it. "Bitch, the fuck are you doing?" he decided to burst standing up from his seat.

Jennie rolled her eyes and stepped away. She turned to the fuming boy and smiled wide. "Gosh, you won't even let me have my fun." She placed her hands on her hips and turned back to the older. "Kim Seokjin. I want Jin's number."

Taehyung chuckled. "Really?"

"Don't you think the two best-looking people in the school should be together? Plus, he's got some great dad jokes. Knows how to keep a girl happy."

The silver-head shook his head with a smile. "You've got some terrible taste in jokes, and you guys don't really look that well together, but alright. I'll text it to you later."

"You better." Jennie placed her bow and arrow on the cart, before making her grand exit.

Taehyung watched the door close, before his attention turned to the boy that had sighed quite harshly. "What was that?" the younger grumbled, crossing his arms.

Taehyung approached the still rilled up younger. "Negotiation,  Bun."

"Don't call Bun. And who negotiates like that?"

"What ever do you mean?"

"She was all up on you like that."

"Like what?"

"Like this!" Jeongguk yelled, getting as close as he could to Taehyung to reenact what he just saw without thinking twice. Once he realized how close he actually was, his breath nearly stopped, and the next words just came out as whisper. "And you were all up on her..."

Taehyung leaned in closer, their noses nearly touching, eyes trained on the younger's parted lips and his desperate attempts to breathe. "Like this?"

The boys remained in that position for a few seconds. The silver-head gazed up to look into the boy's eyes, but they weren't quite on him either. They were staring down at the older's lips that had now formed a light smile. Taehyung began leaning in closer, testing the waters almost. Seeing there was no reaction, he went as close as he could without touching the other's lips.

A second passed before the younger started moving ever so slightly, causing their lips to slightly grazed. With no hesitation, Taehyung delicately sealed the gap between them. Both their eyes instantly shut as they began moving their lips together, harder and deeper as the seconds passed.

Although their lips were quite different to compare, they felt like the perfect mold for each other.

Taehyung moved one hand to the back of the younger's neck and the other on his waist, guiding him to the square table behind him so they had something to lean against. Jeongguk was quick to tangle his fingers through the older's hair, pulling at it slightly.

The two didn't know what was happening, they felt as if they were high on the most unknown and addictive drug a man could possess. Neither of them could stop other then when short breaths had to be taken.

A short moan escaped Jeongguk as the older bit harshly on his bottom lip. Taehyung kept his teeth sunk in, and pulled at it until there was no more left between his teeth. They were finally able to take in some long needed oxygen.

Jeongguk's hand left the silver hair and gripped on the edge of the table. Taehyung turned to the side, and leaned against the table copying the younger's pose. Both their sight were trained at ground as they painted heavily.

Taehyung ran his hands through his hair, trying to process what just happened. "I'll got tell the guys we got the place," he said quickly.

The red-head nodded, not being able to meet the other's eyes after the situation he was just under. He waited until the click of the door being closed was heard. As soon as he knew Taehyung was not in the room, he jumped away from the table and gripped at his hair tightly.

"You've gone crazy, Jeon Jeongguk. Absolutely nuts! What the fuck are you thinking? And on top of all of this, you moaned! Moaned! Why not just kill me now, huh, God?" He continued to scream such at himself until he was slouched against the bean bag, accepting whatever that had just occurred cannot not be undone. Not that he would if he had the option, he'd probably try to rewind it to do it again, actually. He hates to admit but god Taehyung's lips are curse that's he's fallen right into.

The three came with their arms around Taehyung, praising him for getting the job done, and doing to the red-head once they saw him. They sat around on the beanies and even fooled around with the archery equipment. It was a really nice area, quiet and chill. Slightly cold but they could manage. The entire time, Taehyung and Jeongguk weren't able to make any eye contact or say more than three words to each other. Luckily, the boys noticed.

"Are you two fighting or something?" Saejoon asked, shooting an arrow while he was at it. He missed.

"What?" Taehyung stopped laughing at whatever Namsoon said and asked.

"You and Gguk."

For the first time after that kiss, the boy's looked at each other, but quickly averted away. "No," they both answered in unison.

School had had ended soon, but the boys made plans to meet up and go to the arcade after Jeongguk's dance practice. The red-head was sure the practice had been canceled that day, but Taehyung was keen on being sure he still went. That was slightly hard considering it was still very awkward around them. Once they entered, it was empty just as Jeongguk's thought it would, except for their captain who stopped practicing upon their entrance.

"No one's here," Jeongguk said bitterly.

"Cap's special request," Taehyung muttered with a light shrug.

"You skipped yesterday," Hoseok started, grabbing a towel to wipe away any sweat.

"There was practice yesterday?" Taehyung questioned, taking a seat on the bench. He remembered Jeongguk saying what dance practice, and it was left at that.

"God, did both of you forget or just stop caring? It's okay, I'll let it slide. I was going to pick the junior soloist for the competition yesterday."

"Junior soloist?" Taehyung asked. He knew what it was, but he wasn't expecting Hoseok to give the red-head such a chance.

Hoseok nodded. "Did you practice?"

Jeongguk sighed, putting his bag down. "Yeah, but I don't have a change of clothes."

"It's fine. Just show me how far you got into it," Hoseok walked over to the speaker connected his phone. He waited until Jeongguk stretched quickly and got into position. A song that Taehyung wasn't quite familiar began playing.

"Manolo by Trip Lee," Hoseok mouthed seeing the confused expression of the boy.

As soon as the words began, Jeongguk began to show the choreography he had learned by Hoseok's plan. To say Taehyung was mesmerized would be an understatement. He just couldn't look away, nor blink. Jeongguk was just so hot, especially when he danced. The boy gulped, not knowing the power dance could hold. Once Jeongguk stopped, Hoseok knew it was more than enough.

"Damn, you really did practice, huh?"

"Once or twice," the red-head replied in between light pants.

Hoseok looked over to the wide-mouthed silver-head. "What'd you think?"

"What the fuck do I think? Are you guys trying to kill everyone this year? Why not add in a hip thrust while your at it!"

"Hmm, that's not a bad idea?"

"Hobi!" Taehyung yelled.

The other chuckled. "It's a Jesus song Tae, chill."

"We stray further from God's light everyday," Taehyung said with a sigh.

"I'm leaving," Jeongguk said, heading to the exit. The boys hadn't noticed him getting his bag and putting on his jacket. Taehyung quickly side hugged the other goodbye and ran after the red-head. They began making way to find the other boys.

The arcade they usually went to weren't as packed as the others around where they lived. This one was at the edge of being named a pile of trash. Only a few games were in good condition, and the others would either eat their money, not save their records, or glitch.

Although it was quite the tragic place, the boys loved it exactly for that. Since school has restarted, the place was empty. They would quickly changed their bills into coins and spread out to find the games that did work.

Today, Saejoon and Minki had decided to play air hockey, bidding on who gets to ask Mina out first. Namsoon was too busy trying to get the part-timer's number, who was clearly not interested but had no other way to waste her time than to lead him on. This left Taehyung and Jeongguk to scavenge for games on their own.

Taehyung unknowing trailed after the younger, not really interested in anything else but him. Jeongguk couldn't say anything to him, he'd have to meet the other's eyes first. The red-head decided to shoot some hoops, seeing it was fool-proof to glitch. He inserted a couple coins and the game began and Taehyung watched from the side. After what seemed like forever, Jeongguk finally ran out of time, but he did meet a new record.

"Yes!" Jeongguk praised himself.

"Woah, damn you beat mine by three," Taehyung finally spoke.

Jeongguk finally turned to see the older had approached to stand right beside him, observing the numbers on the leaderboard. Before the red-head could say a word, Taehyung's phone let off an obnoxious notification sound. Jeongguk didn't mean to peak, his eyes just caught the name of the messenger.

"How do you even have her number?" Jeongguk sneered, his eyes squinting thinking of the girl from before.

"Hmm? Jennie? We kinda had these weird flings till two winter's ago," Taehyung answered, quickly replying with the number she had requested.

"Flings, huh?" Jeongguk's whole mood became darker. He just beat a record for god sake, any teens would be screaming over that, at the least showing it off. Taehyung tilted his head in confusion as he watched the boy storm off to what seemed like the washroom. "Could it be... is he... jealous?" he muttered to himself, and as soon as that thought processed its way through, a wide smirk was on his lips as he began to run after the younger.

Entering the restroom, Taehyung saw the younger staring at himself in the mirror. Jeongguk turned to see who opened the door, and once he spotted that it was just the silver-head, he rested against the sink with his arms crossed.

"Whatcha doing?" Taehyung asked still at the door.

Jeongguk was ready to come back with a witty answer, but it was as if his voice had been taken away from him watching the boy enter, somehow hotter than ever with his raked hair and smirk.

"Do you know how tie a cherry stem with your tongue?"

"What the fuck?" Jeongguk was confused at the sudden question. It was quite random, but the smile on the other's face explained there was some hidden intentions behind it.

"I can," he continued.

"The hell am I supposed to do with that information?"

"Want me to prove it you?"

"I never ask–"

"Those who can are said to be very good kissers."

Jeongguk finally understood what the older was getting at. The silence between the two was quite unpleasant and the red-head couldn't handle the awkward tension between them anymore. "Look, whatever happened at lunch was... I don't know, but we didn't mean it. It just happened. A mistake. So forget it."

"A mistake?" the older questioned. His hand travelled behind until he reached something on the metal handle. With an instant turn, the door was locked. Jeongguk observed as the other got closer and closer with a mischievous grin.

Before he knew it it, Taehyung was in front of him, and two large hands held down the waist of the frozen boy. They stared at each other's lust filled eyes as Taehyung got closer and and closer and closer, until the gap was closed. Lips touched for just a few seconds before the older pulled back.

"Oops," Taehyung whispered with fake innocence. He pulled away to read the expression on the younger's face– a mix of shock and anger. Not a second later, Jeongguk's arms uncrossed to grab the silver-heads collar to steer him to his lips again.

He felt addicted to the sweet taste of vanilla that came through kissing Kim Taehyung. Just as Taehyung felt addicted to the sweet sounds released from the younger whenever he bit down on his lips or tangled their tongues together. Not even the need for air was able to stop them. They didn't even think to do so upon the loud knocks at the door from Saejoon, mindlessly ignoring it and focusing on making their wildest desires become a reality.

"Geez, I thought the arcade machines were the only things out of order. Hmm, I wonder where Gguk and V are," Saejoon said to himself as he walked away from the locked public washroom door, but he laughed thinking of what possible situations the two could be under. "Probably at each other's throat over some stupid game."
