fourteen: he's back
It was loud at Bangtan High, the usual chatter filling the hallways before classes started. Friends discussing winter break vacations and whereabouts. Everyone was excited to see each other again. Some got new haircuts, some bought new makeup, and some even brought the gifts they had received to show off. Yet one seemed to have changed completely, from head to toe. As soon as he stepped into the school, the entire student body stopped to stare in awe and surprise.
Shining silver hair parted through the middle, red bandana tied around holding it up nicely, leather jacket layered over the beige and white uniform with the top two buttons undone, Taehyung walked in with all his glory. His presence just radiated confidence and dominance, as if the school was his. Chin held high with pride and lips in a mischievous grin. Eyes playful as ever, sending quick winks to any girls who had their jaw dropped to the ground.
"You sly hoe! Where the fuck is Taehyung?" Jimin yelled, slapping the now silver-head's shoulder. "Wah, you even dyed your hair! What the fuck??" Everyone listened closely as the six boys gathered.
"What? You don't like it? You're going to be dying your hair very soon too," Taehyung joked, but his tone wasn't as usual. Instead of cheerful adorableness, it was playful and deep. Never in a million years did any of the boys expect what seemed to sound like V to make a comeback.
"Tae, seriously dude what the hell?" Hoseok asked.
"Things needed some change," he said simply with a shrug.
The guys looked around, and seeing they had an audience, they pulled Taehyung off to a more secluded area.
"Taehyung-ah, what is this?" Jin questioned, a little worried.
"Why are y'all so pressed? I just felt like dressing up a little today."
"So, without telling any of us, you dyed your hair and dug through your old accessories in one night?" Namjoon screamed, but quickly quieted down.
"Surprise?"
"Really? Surprise? You want us to believe that?" Jimin said, crossing his arms.
Taehyung sighed. "Fine, fine. I went to meet Gguk and his friends late last night, and they were pissed at me for making most of the boys quit their delinquent life. Then they said a few things which got me pissed, and my plan is the result of that."
"Plan?"
"I'm going to be V again, just for a while. Gonna try the method of if you can beat them, join them, and then beat them."
The guys shook their head, letting out a breath of relief. "You scared us for a second there."
"What? You thought I'd go back to those days? Guys c'mon!"
"Right." The bell rang, signalling they had only a few minutes to be seated in their class. The boys bid each other bye and left, Jimin and Yoongi staying behind.
"Let's go Tae," Jimin called out.
"He'll come, you go on ahead, Jiminie," Yoongi said, to which the blond agreed to and left.
Taehyung looked at the shorter, questioning what he had on his mind.
"When you woke me up and told me you had a plan at two in the morning, I didn't think this is what you meant," Yoongi started, but ended with a sigh. "It's fine... but, this is all just pretend right?"
"Of course! Trust me, Yoongs."
"I like the hair colour though," he said, ruffling Taehyung's hair lightly, to which the younger quickly defended mumbling it took him forever to style it. "Alright. Good luck. Let's get to class." The two parted ways as they reached the main hallway. Taehyung took his sweet time to get there, purposely being late so his act seemed more real.
"Kim Taehyung. Late the first day back. Put your jacket away and take a seat," Ms. Kang said, already tired from the bullshit Taehyung is about to pull for the rest of the school year with the new get up. The boy flashed his teacher a smile, before taking dropping his bag and jacket on his chair and taking his seat.
Before Ms. Kang continued with the lesson, she asked a question. "Class President."
"Yes," Jimin said, standing up immediately. It was always a surprise on how Jimin balanced his life with all the after-school activities he was part of while being in charge of a class of lazy seniors.
"Is there anything about bandanas in the dress code?"
"There is nothing against it from what I recall. As long as it's not covering your face, I assume."
"Very well then, sit down. Okay class, open up to page seventy-three."

It isn't everyday you'd see someone as hot as Kim Taehyung lurking in the halls ready to drown you in his cheeky smile. His gaze was alluring and different from before. Those who had once only acknowledged his presence are now stopping to admire.
"Looking good, Tae!"
"Feeling good, Jennie," Taehyung replied, not forgetting to add a wink at the smiling girl as she walked past their table in the cafeteria.
"Dude. The angel of the school just noticed you. Hmm, maybe I should dye my hair," Hoseok said, mouth wide open.
"How does rainbow sound? Also, why're you tryna hit up on Jennie, didn't you have a thing going on with that girl from tutor?" Jimin said, clearly annoyed. He then turned to Taehyung. "I can't believe you're taking this bet this seriously."
"It's more than just a bet at this point," the grey answered simply.
"No, but dude seriously. The entire female population of Bangtan High is checking you out," Jin brought up again.
Taehyung looked around, seeing that most eyes were on him. "Yeah, well too bad I'm into guys, right?"
"Yeah... WAIT WHAT?" the guys, except for Yoongi, screamed.
Hoseok spit out his water, making the boys give him a disgusted look. "You're not messing with us, right?" he asked, lowering down his volume trying not to gather more attention than they already seemed to have. A harsh slap hit the back of his head, making him grown. "What the hell, Jin?"
"What Hobi meant was that we support you no matter what your sexuality is, and we love you just as much. Maybe next time, don't break something so important that casually."
"Thanks, Jinnie," Taehyung said, a soft smile spreading to his lips. The words just slipped through his mouth without thinking, but he didn't regret finally coming out to his friends.
"Taehyung, fighting!" Hoseok said, flashing two thumbs up, before his attention was caught by another. "Also, why are you grinning like that?"
Yoongi let a short sigh. "Ah, it's hard keeping secrets. Anyways, anyone else want to admit to anything?"
The other two boys who had just found out we're still in a state of shock, not being able to mutter a word, but when Namjoon felt Yoongi touch his knee, he was jolted back. The shorter had a point, there was no point in keeping it a hidden as Taehyung had revealed it so easily.
"I'm pan!" Namjoon said quite loudly, but only enough for the five boys to hear. There goes Hoseok spitting out more water.
After a short moment of silence, another confession was heard. "I'm gay too! W-well, I think I am," Jimin managed to squeak out.
At this point, Hoseok shouldn't even bother to try and drink more water. "Okay, we love, we stan, and we support, but is that the last one, 'cause I'm this close to dying of thirst."
They all shared a laugh before continuing to talk about how and when they realized, and showered the three boys with immense amount of encouraging words. Namjoon and Taehyung had somehow been figured out by Yoongi, which made the process of talking about it to the rest much easier, but Jimin was still very shy and quiet about it. Namjoon noticed, but didn't want to call him out. Once they had to leave the cafeteria, he lead Jimin to the rooftop a few minutes before class was supposed to start. The rest hadn't questioned them why and proceeded to make way to their own classrooms.
"You're awfully quiet," Namjoon started, leaning against one of the desks laid out randomly in corners.
"Yeah, well it's not everyday you say you might be into guys to your friends," Jimin said simply, sitting on a desk of his own.
"Might?"
The boy that was staring at the ground, fiddling with his fingertips, finally looked up. His eyes still wandered around, not being able the other's. His blond hair danced with the wind's pace, rising and falling with a graceful touch.
"I don't know. My thoughts are all mixed up right now, but it's something that's been running through my head for a while. I just wish there was a way of making sure of it."
"What can confirm it?"
Jimin met Namjoon's eyes, the younger desperately trying to convey some kind of message the other couldn't quite process. Jimin hopped of the desk carefully. He began to slowly approach the now nervous boy who sunk back in the desk the closer the shorter got. Jimin slammed his hands on the desks quite forcefully, but not on purpose. He had the older trapped in a way.
"Chim...?"
Before Namjoon could inquire more of the situation, Jimin went on his tip-toes, bringing their faces as close as he could. Time froze along with their surroundings. Everything was so still, but when Jimin leaned in, Namjoon realized he wasn't staring at a photograph. Jimin's soft plump lips met the older's slightly chapped. It was quick and light. Jimin had closed his eyes, but when he opened them again, Namjoon was still staring. They remained like that for another second before Namjoon brought his hands up to cup the boy's face. His touch was delicate, as if he was holding a fragile piece of art that could be shattered into millions of pieces if not handled with the upmost care. Without thinking twice, Namjoon connected their lips again, but this time, it was a proper kiss.
Thousands of butterflies swarmed both of their stomachs, and if it weren't for the bell to ring, they wouldn't have become startled and pull away. Dark shades of red dusted both of their cheeks.
"Yup, definitely gay," Jimin said, breaking the awkward silence.
"Well, glad I was able to help solve your confusion. Gotta blast!" With that, Namjoon scurried away, almost tripping over air on his way to the door.
"What the hell just happened," Jimin said to himself, reaching his finger to graze over the now swollen lips. He was more than sure they were darker than his flushed cheeks. "Fuck, Kang's going to kill me."

"There he is, the talk of the school!" Minki said with a cold stare as Taehyung approached. The smirk plastered on the silver-head managed to piss the four off even more.
"V's back bitches, missed me?"
Jeongguk scoffed, doing his best not to start laughing out loud. "So what, you dyed your hair and threw on a leather jacket. It don't mean nothing. You're nothing but a big ol' Sof–" He stopped talking as soon as Taehyung's sly smile dropped to be replaced with a scowl, matching his hooded eyes. They managed to shut the younger up in an instant.
"Jeon's right. This is 'cause of what we said last night, ain't it?" Saejoon spoke up, although his voice slightly wavered.
Taehyung released an annoyed sigh. "Can't believe I have to prove this. How 'bout we go on a little car run later tonight, hmm?"
A car run is the term the boys used for trashing car mirrors late a night. They haven't gone on one since Taehyung left. Without him, there was a likely chance for them to get caught as Taehyung seemed to have known the perfect hiding places if they were spotted by anyone, as well as where to avoid security cameras. After a while of not doing it, it was forgotten.
"Y'sure, Tae– or should I say V? Not scared of getting caught?"
"Bring the spray paint as well, Sae." After flashing a quick smile, Taehyung left the parking lot. The boys watched him as he walked away, all fascinated by the boy's sudden change.
"You don't believe him right?" Jeongguk asked, eyes still on the older in sight.
"Maybe what we said got to him. It'd be nice to have V around again. The rest might come back as well," Namsoon said with a shrug. "We'll see."
The red-head nodded. He didn't quite buy it, but he was somewhat excited to see what was going to happen. He ran his fingers through his own hair, thinking if he should re-dye the fading red. Jeongguk couldn't help but notice how powerful the older looked with his new style. What he felt seeing him definitely wasn't jealousy, it was something else, and it just irked Jeongguk that he couldn't quite place a finger on what the foreign feeling was.
