Chapter Seventeen

~Inari's POV~

"Nee-san?" Hitoshi's voice sounded somewhere nearby and I felt him shake me gently.

"Five more minutes." I grumbled and rolled over.

"You've been asleep for like 11 hours." He growled and shook me more aggressively.

11 hours? Why did it seem like I wasn't supposed to sleep that long? Wasn't I supposed to do something today? "What time is it?"

"3:10." Hitoshi sighed, "and Mr. Aizawa is here to see you...what's that about?"

I shot out of bed, still in my pajamas and raced down the hall, nearly knocking Kaminari over in the process. He yelped and dove out of my way. I had to admit he had great reflexes as I was not fully awake and would 100% have just run him over. I slid to a stop in the kitchen and spotted Aizawa standing outside the open door, politely waiting. He was dressed as a civilian today in a pair of dark jeans and a dark cardigan over a plain white t-shirt. He took one look at my mussed hair, askew pajamas and possibly crusted drool sticking to the side of my face and cracked a smile.

"Did you forget about our date?" He mused.

"Date?!" Hitoshi barreled into the room, Kaminari was not quick enough to dodge him and got splatted against the wall.

"Rude, you almost killed the golden retriever." I scowled at my younger brother.

Aizawa inclined a brow noticing the blonde for the first time, "Kaminari?"

"H-hey, Mr. Aizawa." Kaminari replied nervously as he rubbed his face that had just gotten shoved into the wall by Hitoshi.

"What are you doing here?" Aizawa pondered.

"I-...uh-..." Kaminari panicked.

I rolled my eyes and came to his rescue, "they're study buddies. He stayed over for a late study session. Is that a fucking problem?"

"Why are you always so combative?" Aizawa sighed.

"Because, you're questioning my kids." I growled.

Aizawa threw me a curious look. Kaminari let out a cute, "aw." as he realized I'd just adopted him and Hitoshi scowled at all of us, unamused.

"Can we get back to the d-word?" Hitoshi growled.

"Dick?" I asked confused.

"Dumb?" Kaminari joined in the guessing and I grinned at him.

"I love him, he's never leaving." I smiled at Hitoshi.

Aizawa shook his head while concealing a smile.

Hitoshi rubbed his temples in frustration. "...date...the word was date...morons."

"Well I'm not awake yet and therefore not a fully functioning human and you gave the golden retriever brain damage when you threw him into the wall, so who's the moron now?" I retorted.

Aizawa chuckled softly.

"Ahem." An obnoxious voice sounded in the hall behind Aizawa.

I looked past him to see Karen tapping her foot impatiently, "what the fuck, Karen?!"

"How rude." She muttered before straightening herself up to stand taller, "I wanted to talk to you about the noise last night. What on earth were you doing in here?"

I noticed Hitoshi and Kaminari blushing like crazy and sighed, "obviously Karen, I lit a fucking fire in the living room, danced naked around it and sacrificed a virgin to my unholy lord and savior, Satan. Any other complaints?"

Karen's face turned white as a sheet before turning an alarming shade of red that bordered on a deep purple color. She let out some kind of unflattering shriek before running for her life back to her apartment as if I had a bloody hatchet in my hand and was waving it at her.

Kaminari and Hitoshi looked at me in awe before cracking up laughing.

Aizawa looked hella concerned, "...what?"

"Psycho bitch, I'm punching her next time I see her." I growled.

"She's definitely calling an exorcist this time." Hitoshi sighed.

I smirked, " I can work with that, we need some green baby food."

Hitoshi shook his head. Kaminari nearly fell over laughing as he pieced together the plan. Aizawa waited patiently in the hall.

Hitoshi threw me a serious look, "what about the date?"

"Oh right." I sighed and threw Aizawa what was supposed to be an apologetic look but from the amusement dancing in his dark eyes I had a feeling it had come out hostile and threatening, "give me 5 minutes."

"Take 10." He smirked.

"Don't start with me or I'll make you think you're a cat." I hissed coolly before heading back to my bedroom to get ready.

Hitoshi ran after me and waited in my room as I stepped into my walk in closet, "you're going on a date with Mr. Aizawa?"

"Don't read too much into it." I sighed as I sifted through my closet for something to wear.

"You don't go on dates...you have one night stands and small flings but never dates." Hitoshi protested.

"Well...he's the first person to ever ask me out on one." I sighed.

"That's not true." He frowned.

"Well fine, he's the first person to ask me in a decent way and not just because he wanted me to fuck him...is that better?" I growled and settled on a pair of jeans, a tight printed top and a loose kimono over top. Deciding my hair was not going to cooperate, I kept it in it's messy state and tied it in some kind of bun before shrugging and stepping into my worn converse while wiping my face to check for crusted drool, luckily there was none.

Hitoshi was lying in wait looking nervous. "Can we talk about something?"

"An important something?" I asked curiously.

He nodded.

I sat on the edge of my bed and gave him my full attention.

"Is it okay if Denki stays the night again tonight?" He asked anxiously as if he were afraid I'd say no.

"He can stay as long as he wants to...is there a reason he doesn't want to go home?" I asked with a frown.

"I'm afraid if I answer that question you're going to assault someone." Hitoshi grimaced.

"That was vague and cryptic enough I'm afraid that's going to escalate to murder unless you tell me what it is."

He hesitated. "...his parents are not amazing pansexual disasters like my big sister..."

I felt anger begin to well up inside of me afraid of what he was going to say next, "go on."

"They freaked out when he came out..." He winced.

"Freaked out in what way?" I asked warily, "please tell me there was a fucking rainbow cake and a huge ass block party."

He shook his head, "definitely not a good freak out. They kicked him out...he's been staying with various friends all school year."

"I see." I sat for a moment contemplating before yelling, "DENKI! BEDROOM! NOW!"

"Nee-san." Hitoshi groaned.

Kaminari bolted into the room looking terrified, "y-yes?"

"Hi darling." I smiled and got to my feet.

"Am I in trouble?" He asked warily.

"Of course not. I was going to go to the store while I was out, I just wanted to know what your favorite food was. I'll make it for dinner." I smiled sweetly.

Hitoshi stared at me wide eyed. "Nee-san, are you a sociopath?" He asked me quietly while Kaminari thought to himself about his favorite food.

"Hamburgers." He finally decided with a smile.

"Perfect." I ruffled his hair affectionately. "Alright, I'm off, love you kiddos, have fun, text me if you need anything from the store."

Hitoshi watched me warily as I exited my bedroom.

"I love your sister, she's so nice." Kaminari remarked once I'd left.

Aizawa threw me a curious look as I exited the apartment and briskly shut the door behind me. "Everything oka-?"

"Do you know where Kaminari lives?" I asked him.

"So that's a no to coffee?" He pondered.

"Address." I scowled.

"You look hostile, I'm not going to give you that information." He frowned.

"Consent is a pretty big thing for me, I don't like using my quirk on people without their consent unless they're a fucking asshat who deserves it, so if you won't tell me, I will make you tell me." I growled.

"How about you tell me why you want to know?" He reasoned.

"His parents need a lesson in parenting." I growled menacingly.

"From you?" He asked curiously.

I shot him a dark look, "I've been taking care of my brother since the day he was fucking born. I know a few things and I have plenty of experience with shitty parents to know when people are being shitty parents."

"Why don't you tell me more over coffee and I'll think about it." He tried to reason with me.

I glared at him.

"They will still be at the same address after coffee." He pointed.

"Fine." I huffed and followed him to the elevator.
