The next day, Nahee went for the blind date. She came back home in an unexpected — but an expected one to Namjoon — condition.
Her hair was in a mess. Luckily, her makeups were still fine, or maybe not... There was a slightly messy smudge at the corner of her lips.
It would not be a surprise for Namjoon to see her coming back in that condition, but a shock to her mother.
Namjoon's shoulders shook so hard as he laughed silently. Her mother, who saw her standing there blankly and wearily in front of the door, held her magazine in her hand with a surprised look. Mouth slightly opened, eyes widened and utterly speechless.
On behalf of his mother, Namjoon asked as he endured his laugh. He asked, even though he knew. "Wha-what happened to you?"
After he asked, he snorted and laughed quietly again, bending his back to hide his laughing face. He must have laughed so hard.
Nahee observed her mother's reaction after seeing her. She remembered the time she kept thinking of her mother and kept mentally saying she missed her. She whined and made a sad face.
«« REWIND •• DURING THE NOT-REALLY A BLIND DATE
Last choice blind date
With Jackson!
Just a day before she went for the blind date (or maybe not), she received a text message from Somin, saying Jackson would bring her to several places. Nahee wondered where Jackson would bring her.
Her first stop was where she waited for him. At the café. She was sipping her Caramel Machiatto when an attractive boy entered the café, attracting her attention.
She was in an awestruck for a while but snapped out of it when she realised Jackson was struggling to look for her. She quickly found her phone and called Jackson's number, which was given by Somin.
The speaker from her phone rang as the receiver's phone rang as well. Jackson hurriedly got his phone from his pocket and pressed the green button to answer the call.
"Yeoboseyo? Nahee-ssi?"
"Hey, have you arrived?" Nahee asked, her eyes glued on him, observing his movement.
"Uh... Yeah, but which one are you?" This time, Jackson asked with his eyes squinted to look for her, looking for her table.
His movements then stopped to realise there was only a table which had someone who was talking on her phone. Jackson smiled.
They both made longer eye contact and then smiled at each other.
Still on the phone, he called. "Miss Nahee?"
"Yeah?" Nahee smiled in her dimples as she responded to Jackson. Nahee waved at him after that, telling him to come to her. Jackson quickened his paces and arrived at Nahee's table.
They both greeted each other before Jackson landed his buttocks on the chair. They ordered drinks before they start a conversation.
A tall, handsome man with broad shoulders then delivered their orders. Friendly, the man said with a smile, "enjoy your drinks." Nahee and Jackson thanked him and the man left the table.
Being the friendliest one, Jackson started a conversation. "You look familiar to me. You almost look like someone I know, but you're a girl and pretty. But who?" Jackson said as he pointed his finger with his eyes narrowed, trying to remember who Nahee looked the same with.
"Perhaps, are you trying to say I almost look like Kim Namjoon?"
Jackson snapped his finger, clicked when he remembered his coursemate, or so-called his best friend.
"Are you his sister?" He asked.
"Yes, I'm Kim Namjoon's sister. Nice to meet you," Nahee said. Jackson smirked, still amused that he finally met Namjoon's sister. He had heard that Namjoon has a sister but had never met her.
"It is an honour to meet you in person," said the boy as he stretched his arm for a handshake. Nahee took his hand and bowed.
Jackson has a good image. Humble and a gentleman.
'He is not bad for a start the date,' Nahee thought as she friendly smiled at him. And thought Namjoon's thinking was wholly wrong.
**********
Nahee had fun talking with Jackson. She laughed at every joke Jackson told and, of course, as Namjoon's best friend, he would not leave out funny stories about her brother.
After all those talks and laughs, they left the café and spend their date elsewhere.
Arcade!
As they arrived at the arcade, deafening sounds from many game machines greeted her ears. She got startled when a drum game that played its preview gave out a sudden smashing sound. She got uncomfortable.
Not that she was not fond of the arcade, she went before but it has been a long time since she had not visited an arcade.
She felt a hand dragged her into a gaming machine suddenly. She gasped when she got dragged.
Both of them stopped in front of the hitting-the-mole game machine. Jackson got a coin from his pocket and shoved it in the coin slot.
There were two toy hammers on the edge of the machine. Jackson grabbed two of them and gave one to Nahee. Nahee was blank for a while when Jackson slammed the toy hammer onto the screen, and the countdown starts.
3!
2!
1!
START!
Jackson rushed Nahee to 'kill' the moles with him, or that was what he actually said...
Nahee was a little slow and confused. She did not know which to hit since Jackson was quicker than her. She hit one that Jackson left out but ended up that was a bomb trap and...
GAME OVER!
Jackson frowned and pouted his lips. He glared at Nahee and Nahee awkwardly smiled at him. It was a good thing that her dimples cheered him up. He pinched Nahee's cheeks.
"You're so cute!" He then let go of her cheeks.
The more they play in the arcade and she saw Jackson almost ignoring her for the games, the more she got bored.
At this moment, Nahee did not understand why but feeling her energy slowly getting consumed or absorbed. It felt like her soul dragged out of her body. She did nothing and just watch him play. Jackson made her felt exactly like she was taking care of a toddler.
The arcade was not enough!
This time...
AMUSEMENT PARK!
Like Namjoon had mentioned, 'Rest in peace after that'. She will definitely rest in peace~.
Nahee tried to keep a smile on her face, though it was awkward, tired and not really a happy one. Anyone could visibly see, not even her dimples on her cheeks.
Jackson dragged her around the amusement park to find something entertaining. He brought her to a shop and bought her a Minnie Mouse headband. He immediately put it on Nahee's head and pinched her cheeks while praising her cuteness.
Nahee got dragged again. This time, to the Viking. Riding the Viking was not something she was fond of. She whiffed her head to reject the idea, but Jackson insisting her to ride it with him. She lost when Jackson dragged her to the entrance.
Nahee trembly hand the ticket to the woman who was standing there to 'welcome' them play.
Nahee took her seat between Jackson and a teenager. The teenager beside her already shouting in excitement. As for her, she was already shouting mentally, not for the same reason, though.
The Viking slowly moved, swung it back and forth as Nahee's straight hair waved in rhythm with the swinging.
The more it swung, the higher it got.
Nahee's soul had absolutely left her when she screamed in fear. Jackson, on the other side, was having fun. That he even urged Nahee to put her hands up.
The ride then stopped. Nahee looked unmanageable.
The Viking was not enough. Jackson brought her to the roller coaster.
'I miss eomma...' She internally said, expressing her feelings with a blank look. There were a lot of strands of hairs messed up on her head.
She did not know how to stop Jackson from dragging her here and there; she wished Jackson realised how she looked. But Jackson just looked at her with a glance and, hopes for him to care about her, crashed!
Nahee gave up. She sat on the roller coaster seat and had the protector cover her shoulder and chest. When the ride started, she was the only one who did not have fun with it. A look as if she wanted nothing to do with the guy beside her was the complete expression stuck on her face.
Not until something little smacked at the corner of her lips. She grimaced as she struggled to get the thing that landed on her face.
She smelt it and it smelt like food. Jjajangmyun. Jjajangmyun was the first thing came up in her mind.
'Who the f*ck eats Jjajangmyun on roller coaster?!' She mentally exclaimed. She expressed out the disgusted expression. She wiped the dirt on her finger on the protector.
When the ride ended, smiling Jackson left the coaster with Nahee, who had no expression on her face.
He looked manly and a mature-looking gentleman as a start, but who would know Jackson was actually a guy who so active and immature?
Jackson still not done with the rides in the park yet. He wanted to bring Nahee to the Gyro Drop, but Nahee suddenly shouted, snapping the guy from his intention.
"Enough!" Nahee yelled, attracting the visitors who were around their area. It took aback Jackson because of the sudden yell. He thought Nahee was alright awhile ago.
"I should've listened to my brother. I shouldn't have chosen you. You look different from your appearance," Nahee said. "You look manly but I didn't expect that you're actually immature than you look."
Jackson quietly listened to her.
"I'm tired of you ignoring just to have fun. This is not a date I wished for!" Nahee continued to express. When Nahee expressed this, Jackson realised Nahee's mess. At the corner of her lips, there was a tiny smudge. Her hair was almost as same as a bird's nest. Jackson realised he had ignored her, suddenly felt sorry for her.
"Look, Nahee. I'm-I'm sorry I—"
"Enough..." Nahee showed her palm to Jackson with her eyes closed. Tired of him, she sighed.
"I'm leaving..." Nahee then turned on her heels, leaving Jackson alone in wide space. Jackson did not even get her or chase her. And that was what actually Nahee wished for.
FAST FORWARD »» •• PRESENT
Nahee languishingly approached the door of her house. She attempted to push her messy hair back but realised there was the Minnie Mouse headband still on her head. Grunted, she roughly took the headband away from her head as she stomped towards the door. She then stretched her arm to open it.
On the other side...
Mrs Kim just took a magazine from a drawer while Namjoon was sitting on the sofa, relaxing after a night long working on for music. She was about to turn on her heels, making her way towards the solo sofa, but suddenly stopped as the front door was suddenly opened wide. They saw Nahee standing there blankly while looking at the middle-aged woman.
Namjoon raised up his head, seeing his sister stood there. Not a surprise to him to see Nahee came back in that state since he knew she went for a date with Jackson. Namjoon covered his face and laughed so hard quietly that his shoulder shook.
Mrs Kim's eyes widened, her mouth opened slightly, speechless to see her daughter coming back to that state. She wondered if her daughter went for a date or went to the Amazon and had fights with lions.
Knowing that his mother would give a comment to her state, Namjoon asked as he endured his laugh. "What-what happened to you?"
After that, he snorted and bent his back to hide his laughing face. It was hilarious to him that his sister got what she supposed to get for not listening to him.
Seeing her mother, Nahee felt like she wanted to cry.
She whined, "eomma..."
