*(Y/N) POV*

Me and Ruby sleep soundly under the blanket. That's until Ruby jolts awake. This causes me to wake up too. I shake my head a little to get the sleep out of me.

(Y/N): "*yawn* Morning Ruby"

Ruby: "Good morning (Y/N)" she kisses my cheek before we stand up. I walk over to the window and open the curtains, much to others displeasure

Ryze: "Close the window!" he mutters in his sleep. I shook my head and went over to him to kick him awake "OW! I'm up for fuck sake! No need to kick me!" this awaken the rest of our group as I made my way to Ruby

She walks to a sleeping Qrow and picks up the empty bottle. Despite me and Ryze waking everyone else up, he is still asleep

(Y/N): "Drunk idiot..." Ruby tries to wake Qrow up by shaking his shoulder

Ruby: "Uncle Qrow. Come on, get up"

Qrow: "*groan* Leave me alone..."

Ruby: "We overslept" Qrow just lightly shoves Ruby away. She groans a bit as I walk over to him... and kick him off of the chair

Qrow: "What?"

(Y/N): "Get up drunk princess. We overslept. We need to get moving and get out of here"

Qrow: "Oh, right. Sunrise. Sorry" Ruby sighs and hugs Qrow

Ruby: "You know, you can talk to me about stuff. Yang too" Qrow sighs and hugs her back

Qrow: "Let's just get out of here. I think we're all tired of this place" he gets up and me and Ruby follow him

We all move outside. Weiss is using her rapier to weld a metal ball to a makeshift trailer hitch attached to Bumblebee with Mako keeping it in place with his Semblance. Ryze and Sam are moving the trailer to the motorcycle while Blake and Oscar watch on the porch steps.

Weiss: "There. That should do it"

(Y/N): "We can finally say this place goodbye" Mako stretches his arms

Mako: "Man, I'm so tired and hungry I could eat a horse" I noticed something is wrong with his eyes

(Y/N): "We can eat on the way to Argus. I don't want to stay here any second longer than we need"

Blake: "If we're all so tired, maybe we should make breakfast?"

Oscar: "You wanna make it?"

Blake: "Not really"

Ruby: "You guys got the bike ready?" Yang gestures to her motorcycle

Qrow: "Well, it's done now. So let's hook this thing up and-" he rests his foot on the side of the trailer, and the tire on the opposite side goes flat "Oh, you've gotta be kidding me!" he groans

Ryze: "Fucking great, more work" he and Qrow look at the tire

Maria: "You all are just beacons for bad luck, aren't you?"

(Y/N): "Real confidence boost, grandma"

Qrow walks over to a nearby fence post and sits on the ground. Yang also sits on the ground by the well

Yang: "I'm starting to think the universe just doesn't want us getting to Atlas"

(Y/N): "Stop with the whining. What the hell happened to all of you? It's just a flat tire, nothing worse than what we've been through"

Ruby: "(Y/N)'s right. It's just a flat tire. I'm sure there's a spare somewhere"

(Y/N): "Sam, Mako, go look for a spare in the shed. There should be a few there"

Sam: "Sure, whatever..." they went on their way

Yang: "It's not just that, it's everything. Storms, crashes, monsters... I'm so tired... of all of this"

Blake: "Me too. It feels like we're always having to fight to get by"

Ryze: "It's just so fucking frustrating. When we will have a while to rest" I'm slowly losing my patience

Ruby: "Yeah. But that's what we signed up for"

Oscar: "We signed up to try and save the world, not just... delay the inevitable" Weiss holds her arm with her hand

Weiss: "Last night, I... I couldn't stop thinking - why are we even going to Atlas?" most of our group get troubled looks on their faces

(Y/N): "Because we have to get the Relic where it should be safe. We can't let Salem get it. Did you forget what her forces did to Beacon?" Yang stands up to face me

Yang: "Of course I haven't forgotten, but... Ozpin hid the Relics behind giant doors under enormous schools, and Salem found them easily. However... how long would it take Salem to find a lamp in the middle of nowhere?"

Ruby: "What? The Grimm might-"

Yang: "They'd find it eventually, sure, but bury it or just throw it down the well, it would take years. It might not even happen in our lifetime. But we could be done with it NOW. Leave this crap behind and go home"

Ruby detaches the Relic of Knowledge from her belt, glancing at it before looking up at her teammates, who all stare at her with dazed looks in their eyes. And I had enough of their bullshit

(Y/N): "ENOUGH!" I set myself on orange fire using Ignition. "You're tired, huh? I'm tired too. Tired of all your bullshit! What the hell happened to you?! Yang, I thought you said you're here to help Ruby. And what are you doing now is the opposite of this! Get the grip for fuck sake!"

Yang: "I don't know why're you so worked up (Y/N)? Salem can't be killed. Don't you want to go back home and live with Ruby?"

(Y/N): "I sure would, but then it would mean I failed Pyrrha and Penny. I would fail my father because he for sure wouldn't give up! Are you going to stand here and tell me that Penny, Pyrrha, any other people killed before by Salem died for nothing? That their sacrifices didn't mean ANYTHING?!"

Yang: "No, I just... I don't see why we should risk our lives and join them in a losing battle"

(Y/N): "I swear, if you weren't Ruby's sister I would punch you right now" I turn around and see Ruby with the Relic over the well

Ruby: "I'm... really... tired..."

(Y/N): "Ruby, no!" she shrieks in fright and drops the Relic down

Ruby: "No! No! No! I didn't mean to!"

(Y/N): "We have to go after it"

Weiss: "Hey, it's fine. Just leave it"

Ruby: "No, it's not fine. There was something down there, and it was looking at me. Oh, what was I thinking bringing it so close to the well" Ruby looks inside the well. Yang puts a hand on her shoulders

Yang: "Hey, it's okay. You just said you're tired. It's probably nothing. Now let's go" Ruby swats Yang's hand off

Ryze: "We don't have to worry about it anymore"

(Y/N): "We have to get it back, you fucking imbecile!"

Qrow: "All we have to do is get the spare tire hooked onto the trailer and we can get out of here. Hey kid, coconut, get to work on that"

Ruby: "I'M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT THE LAMP!" rest of Team RWBY stare at her

Blake: "Fine, I'll go with you..."

Weiss: "We'll all go together"

(Y/N): "I'm going there too. Someone has to have Ruby's back while you three slump again. Matoi, get your shit together and stand guard"

Ryze: "Okay... whatever you say boss..." Qrow stands up "

Qrow: "Fine! Get the stupid lamp! Oscar, fix the stupid tire!" he heads back inside

Maria: "Where are you going?"

Qrow: "Where do you thing?" he holds out his flask as Grandma shakes her head

Maria: "Stupid..." she sits down on the porch to read another diary

I and Team RWBY head down below the well, into the underground waterway. Yang and Ruby take out their scrolls and use flashlights as I use my arm as a torch to lighten the way as we look for the lamp

(Y/N): "It's gotta be somewhere here. It's not like it grown legs and run away"

Ruby: "Oh, come on, where is it?" she groans

Blake: "Maybe turn off your light and fire and look for the glow?"

Ruby: "I guess so..." Girls turn their flashlights off as I deactivate my Semblance. We continue onward. Me and Ruby eventually notice a faint blue glow coming from around a corner in the waterway, leading to another route

(Y/N): "Jackpot" Ruby runs ahead of us. I then feel a similar pain I felt after using my silver eyes

'Ow. Wait, if my eyes are starting to give me signals... that means...'

Ruby turns around the corner and finds the lamp

Ruby: "Guys, I-" Then I hear her scream and run towards her

(Y/N): "Ruby!" The rest of Team RWBY run behind me. I stop upon seeing Ruby running back to us, and later we see the horde of Grimm with thin bodies, claws and red glowing eyes "Oh, shit..."

I fire off some fireballs, taking out one Grimm while the rest just shrug it off and continue their march towards us. We ready our weapons, but on of the Grimm lets out an ear-splitting scream, making us struggle to stand and hold our weapons up

Yang: "What... is this?"

Blake: "My weapon... feels heavy" she tries to stand back up straight

(Y/N): "It's this Grimm" I stand up and get Mortem's blade on fire.

I swing it and send out a fire wave, killing about two or three of them. This softens up their influence on us

Weiss: "What was that?"

???"Run!" we look back to see grandma Maria behind us "NOW!" we all run back

(Y/N): "Go!"

We move to join Grandma as the Grimm give a chase. We race around through the tunnels, going through several of the old passageways as we look for an exit to the surface. Down the path we find more of those Grimm at the other end. We turn around to run again, only for the Grimm to scream again, causing everyone to lose strength

Yang: "I can't... do this... I can't..."

(Y/N): "Yang, shut up!" I somehow get up and fire some fireballs again, taking more of the Grimm "Keep going, NOW!" Grandma looks ahead and finds a set of stairs

Maria: "An exit! I found an exit!" Ruby also looks up and sees the same stairs as she helps Weiss up

Ruby: "Let's go! Come on!" They get back on their feet and run ahead while I keep the Grimm at bay. Our group got closer to the door. Ruby looks back only to see Blake drops to the ground. I look there to see more Grimm trying to cut my way back.

(Y/N): "Back off!" Grimm screams again as I land on my knees "I said..." Not noticing a white glow from my eyes "BACK OFF!"

Ruby: "BLAKE! (Y/N)!" suddenly a white mist fills the room for a while while Grimm screams in agony. When it dies down I shred some of the Grimm rest and make my way to girls. Ruby grabs Blake and helps her up "I've got her. Go!"

Maria: "What just happened? It was you (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "No, I don't think so" Yang and Weiss get back up. Weiss heads up the stairs to open the door, but it won't budge

Weiss: "It's locked!"

Yang: "I'll get it open!" she runs around grandma to open it up

Meanwhile, more Grimm show up and scream, draining us of our strength again. I use Mortem to keep my footing, trying to keep the Apathy away. Meanwhile grandma crawls over to Ruby, who's lying on the ground, looking her in the eyes

Maria: "Ruby... what color are your eyes?"

(Y/N): "She has silver eyes like me!" I shout as I try to slash one Grimm getting too close to us "Back off!" Grandma gasps

Maria: "You have a family? Friends?"

Ruby: "W-what?" I cut another Grimm down, as two more take its place. I use a fireball to push them back a little and get near Ruby and grandma. Ruby looks up to see, the same Grimm I pushed a while ago are getting closer. However grandma grabs her head and holds her hand over Ruby's ears

Maria: "You two, don't think about them Think about the people who love you. Focus on the thought of them, how they make you feel. Focus!" Me and Ruby close our eyes and concentrate "Life is beautiful. It is precious. And it must be protected"

We open our eyes and Ruby sits up while I stand next to her. We glare at Grimm as our eyes activate and white light fills the room. Grimm screeches in pain. When the light dies down I see all Grimm are reduced to ashes. The rest of group look in awe as I was ready to hold my head in pain, but nothing came

'Oh, nothing, guess I needed to get used to using my eyes. But how did grandma knew what to think about to activate it?'

(Y/N): "Yang, get the door open, NOW!"

Yang gets up and punches the cellar door open. We race up to see we are back in the house, more specifically, in the basement.

Blake: "We're back in the house?"

(Y/N): "Not for long. Let's move" We look to the bar to see passed out Qrow

Ruby: "Come on, Uncle Qrow, get up! We have to go!" She and Yang try to shake Qrow awake. Qrow wakes up and pushes them back

Qrow: "Hey! Get off me! What are you doing here?"

Maria: "We're leaving, you idiot!" she runs on ahead. Yang and Blake follows her, but I and Weiss look back to the cellar entrance

(Y/N): "So, we are burning this place down?"

Weiss: "Yes we are..." Me and her proceed to throw alcohol bottles at the cellar entrance

Qrow: "Hey, what're you doing?!"

(Y/N): "Shut up Qrow. You had enough for one day! Weiss, do the honors!" she nods as I get near Ruby as Weiss ignites the alcohol on the floor

Weiss: "Now we can leave!"

(Y/N): "Come on, you drunk idiot!" I get Qrow from Ruby and drag him by his arms

Qrow: "Hey, stop it! What's wrong with you?! What's-" he looks up and sees the burning Grimm in the other room. Still walking towards us

(Y/N): "That!"

We finally get Qrow outside and onto the flatbed. Everyone beside Ryze is on board as he floats above us. Yang immediately floors the engine and we speed away as the rest of the house catches on fire. Few minutes later we still drove through a snowy path.

Maria: "The Apathy. They're not strong or ferocious. They drain your will to go on. Bartleby's estate was hemorrhaging money towards the end. He wanted to cut costs on Huntsman protection, but in order to do that, he needed everyone calm... always" Oscar reads the diary

Oscar: "Managed to get two away from their pack. Hike back was miserable, but got the bastards in the cellar. Wife thinks I was out sealing the waterway entrance. I'll do it tomorrow and tell her the truth once these things take the edge off of everyone. I'm tired"

Maria: "The next page proves that he did, but not before the rest of the pack followed their missing pair all the way home. My guess is they made their way beneath the estate through the water tunnels that Bartleby sealed up the next morning. Bartleby's plan worked" Grandma takes the book from Oscar "No one was angry or sad or scared. No one was anything. And then... no one was left"

(Y/N): "They died in their sleep. None of them had the will to live anymore" Grandma takes one more look at the diary before tossing it out into the snow

Weiss: "Umm... I'm sorry for what I said... about giving up" Yang slows down to a stop as Ryze lands next to us

Yang: "Yeah, me too. We can't quit until the lamp is safe"

Ryze: "Me too. I'm sorry about saying that I would rather give up. I don't know what came over me"

Blake: "It's not your fault. It was those... things, that did that"

Maria: " I should have known. The signs were all there, but I'd never seen an entire settlement withered away like that. I suppose my mind just isn't what it used to be"

(Y/N): "Um, grandma, I and Ruby have a question"

Maria: "Huh?"

Ruby: "How did you know what to say to us before? Down in the tunnels. You said some things and helped us to do what we... did. How did you know what to make us think about to do that?"

(Y/N): "You once said silver eyes are very powerful. I activated them before but ended up with a headache. So, how did you make us activate them without any consequences?" she smiles at us

Maria: "Well, isn't that obvious? I had silver eyes" I got completely shocked as well as the rest of our pack

(Y/N): "Whaat?! And..."

Maria: "You inherited them from Calavera's side of the family"

(Y/N): "But, how did you lose yours?"

Maria: "*sigh* Let me tell you all the biggest secret of our family, the Grimm Reaper"

Grandma started to tell us about how she knew about the Grimm and Silver Eyes. She revealed to us that she used to be the legendary Huntress known as Grimm Reaper. After that we look at her shocked, especially Qrow

Maria: "But I wasn't... I went into hiding soon after"

Qrow: "I can't believe it" He turns to me "Your grandmother is the Grimm Reaper... that's where you got her emblem..." she turns back to Maria "You were a legend! And then you disappeared"

Oscar: "How exactly does a legend just disappear?"

Qrow: "You never used your name, never showed your face. Lots of us thought you were just layin' low. Eventually, we just came to accept that you were probably dead. But the stories about you, I based my weapon off of yours. I wanted to be as good as the Grimm Reaper"

Maria: "Well, I'm nothing but a disappointment. So you're well on your way"

Blake: "How can you say that?"

Maria: "Child, a Huntress is supposed to protect others to the bitter end. But after I lost my eyes, I only ever looked after myself. Even after my surgery, I was too afraid to fight. Afraid someone would find me again, finish what the others started. You shouldn't aspire to be like me, especially when some of you are clearly stronger already" she looks at me "And (Y/N), I'm sorry for keeping this a secret, but it was for yours and Elizabeth's safety"

(Y/N): "The day I got Mortem... It was when you decided to train me to become the next Grimm Reaper?"

Maria: "Yes. I felt guilty for leaving this world to itself, so I decided to pass the legend of the Grimm Reaper on future generations. And you being so eager to learn, you didn't ask any questions. On plus is that it stayed in the family" She smiles at me and I smile back "It's comforting, seeing that your generation seems up to the task of inheriting this world"

(Y/N): "When Salem attacked Haven... there was a girl named Tick, she also was a crocodile Faunus. She said that Grimm Reaper killed her great aunt. I guess Tock's family still holds the grudge against us... *sigh* Guess I have a nemesis now..."

Maria: "Well, I'm sorry for killing the woman who blinded me" we stay silent for a while "I'm just sorry I didn't do more to leave it in better shape"

Ruby: "Well, maybe you can do something now. Teach me and (Y/N) to use our powers the way you did" she looks at us

Maria: "Didn't I already teach you about those, (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "No! You only told me Silver Eyes have a great power behind them"

Maria: "Really? I guess my age is showing up" she went to say something until the ringing coming from Ruby's scroll interrupted us. She gets it out and gasps

Ruby: "It's Jaune!" Yang stops the motorcycle as Ryze gets back on the ground

Yang: "How?"

Sam: "We're in local range, that means..."

Mako: "We are near Argus! Hooray!" Ruby answers the call

Ruby: "Hello?" We hear Jaune from the other side

Jaune: "Ruby!" he laughs "Thank you! I've been checking my scroll for your or (Y/N)'s signal since we made it to the city!"

Ruby: "The city? Wait!"

Ruby looks at her scroll with Jaune entered as 'Vomit Boy'. She points her scroll towards the road ahead. We see a hill where the snow ends. We get back to driving and as we reach the top we see a walled city in the distance along the ocean. Yang smiles

Yang: "Ladies and gentleman, we have arrived in Argus"

Ryze: "Let's not keep Vomit Boy waiting! Come on!"

*Timeskip*

After reaching the entrance of the city, yang put her motorcycle in a garage. We take our time to admire our surroundings. Then we see Nora in the crowd

Nora: "Cute boy Oz!" she tackles Oscar to the ground" Oh come here!" Jaune and Ren get there too

Ren: "Are you all okay?" he hugs Yang

Jaune: "We were so worried!"

Yang: "It's been kind of a crazy trip"

Weiss: "That's an understatement" Nora then notices grandma

Nora: "Wait, who's the old lady?"

(Y/N): "My grandma"

Nora: "Your WHAT?! Oh my gosh! I bet you have a lot of embarrassing stories about (Y/N)!"

Maria: "Well, there is one when-" I cut her off

(Y/N): "No. You're not telling her about the support beam" I get near Ruby as we observe our friends talk

Blake: "I'm so glad you're all safe"

Weiss: "Seriously..."

Mako: "Yeah. We thought that you all gone missing or something"

Sam: "We didn't"

Nora: " Ah! You're gonna love this place!"

(Y/N): "Well, we are one step closer to Atlas. I can feel home from here"

Ruby: "Yeah... You think your mom got the letter?"

(Y/N): "I hope so. I would not like to surprise her. She would hug us both to death" Ruby giggles and Jaune gets near us. He first hugs Ruby and later me

Ruby: "Hey"

(Y/N): "We promised something, didn't we?"

Jaune: "Yeah. You both did. It's good to see you guys" he get one tear from his eye as we share a smile

Ryze: "Okay, who else is hungry? Is there any place to eat, Jaune?" Jaune smiles

Jaune: "Don't worry. I got everything ready"

We get into a trolley through the city

Yang: "It's a lot bigger than I thought it'd be"

Ren: "It's actually one of the largest non-capital cities in all of Remnant"

(Y/N): "It's as big as Vale" Ruby gasps

Ruby: "No way! But wait, wouldn't it be harder to settle something this big away from the main Kingdom?"

Jaune: "Well, it was, until Mantle showed up. Early settlement attempts by Mistral didn't go well. But colonists from Mantle were able to help them brave the cold climate and return for goods that Solitas couldn't provide"

Ren: "The two nations worked together to create a hybrid city. While it falls under Mistral domain, Atlas keeps a military presence here to help keep the people safe and keep trade between the two nations steady"

Nora: "Well, until recently..."

Sam: "As Ironwood backs off his armies back to Atlas... right?" Nora nods. Soon trolley makes a stop and we hop off

Blake: "We should probably start looking for a ship" Oscar turns to Jaune

Oscar: "So, where have you guys been staying?"

Jaune: "Uh..." he chuckles nervously

???: "There you are!"

We look back and see a blond haired woman, holding a baby as she is waving at us

Yang: "Is that?"

Ryze: "No way..."

Jaune: "Hey, Saph..." he smiles and waves back

Ruby comes up excitedly and looks back at Jaune and back at his sister even more excited as she gasps on the sight of the siblings

*Timeskip*

After meeting Jaune's sister, Saphron and her son, Adrian, she led us to her house and after introducing ourselves, we got comfortable in the living room. Weiss and Yang play with Adrian

Saphron: "I can't believe Jaune is a friend with (Y/N) (L/N)!" This surprise me as I point innocently to myself

(Y/N): "Huh? You know me?"

Saphron: "Of course! I remember watching you and Pyrrha Nikos train here and compete in Regional Tournament. You two were quite popular in Argus. You and her were called 'Prodigies of Sanctum'"

(Y/N): "Really?" I chuckle "Well, I didn't know anything about this" Saphron giggles

Saphron: "Well, now you know" Ruby jumps in front of me, looking at Jaune and Saphron

Ruby: "I can't believe I'm meeting your sister! I have so many questions"

Nora: "Oh, I can give you the rundown later!"

Ryze: "We would like to hear that too. Jaune boy vs his seven sisters" he smirks ad me Mako and Sam nods

Sam: "It would be hilarious"

Mako: "Did you braid his hair and put him into dresses?" he asks Saphron as she giggles. Jaune slumps forward

Jaune: "Will you guys knock it off?"

Saphron: "What? I love telling stories about my baby brother" she squeezes Jaune's cheek, much to his displeasure. He groans and flails his arm at her

Jaune: "I am not a baby! That is a baby" he points to Adrian, who huffs back at him

(Y/N): "Kid doesn't like his uncle" I chuckle. Yang and Weiss starts to make baby faces at Adrian

Yang: "Aww, you're so cute! Yes you are! Oh, look at your little face!"

Weiss: "Aww, coochie-coochie! Aw, baby! Oh my!"

(Y/N): "I told you, you're soft Weiss"

Weiss: "Oh quiet you. Just look at his adorable little face" she points to Adrian as Sam and Ryze scoff

(Y/N): "Jealous of this little fella getting the attention of your girls?" I got two punches to the arm from both side as answers as I laugh a little

Mako: "So, Saphron. You're the only one from Arc's family who lives here?"

Saphron: "Yep! Moved the second I could. Jaune and I are the only two living away from home... I guess he just wanted to be like his big sis"

Jaune: "I, uh..." he groans

Saphron: "Aw, you didn't deny it!"

Siblings start to fight with each other. Then we hear the doors opens up and a A dark-haired woman with glasses is seen walking in with bags of groceries

Saphron: "Everyone, this is my wife, Terra Cotta"

Ruby: "Hello!"

Nora: "Hey there!"

Blake: "Nice to meet you"

Sam: "It's a pleasure, Mrs. Cotta" Terra chuckles

Terra: "Why, hello there! Wow, quite a party, you weren't kidding. Hun, can I get some help please? Wait, is that (Y/N) (L/N)?" I begin to sheepishly scrap the nape of my neck.

(Y/N): "Yeah, that's me, hehe"

Ryze: "Don't need to be so modest mister 'prodigy'" I elbow his side "Ow"

Saphron quickly runs over to help Terra in the kitchen, as Jaune, Nora and Ren are helping

Weiss: "And you're sure it's alright if we stay with you?"

Sam: "We wouldn't want to be a burden for you two"

Saphron: "Of course, we're happy to house Huntsmen and Huntresses"

Terra: "You all risk so much to keep people like us safe. It's the least we can do" she turns to Qrow "Especially for such an elite Huntsman like yourself. Although, I will say I was surprised to learn you had students helping you. Is that even... legal?" Qrow not paying attention, gets his arm bumped by Ruby

Qrow: "Uh, of course. Think of it as an extended training mission. Trust me, I was a professor. Even went to the same academy as them. Let me tell ya, these kids are way better than we were at their age"

Jaune, Ren and Nora re enter the room, holding plates with sandwiches

Qrow: "Well, not better than me specifically, but a lot of students-"

Ruby: "Shut up, there's food!"

Ryze: "Finally! I was going to starve to death"

Mako: "Food!" we start to munch our sandwiches before Terra's scroll began ringing

Terra: "*sigh* Excuse me, I'll be right back" she leaves and answers the call "Hello"

Blake: "Is everything okay?"

Saphron: "Oh, yeah, it will be. Terra's a technician for the town's relay tower. Unfortunately, the military's radar system is also housed there" She begins baby talk at Adrian "Guess what's been on the fritz lately and who's getting falsely blamed" Terra peeks back into the room

Terra: "Me"

Saphron: "So, what's your plan for tomorrow?" Sam finishes his sandwiches
