*(Y/N) POV, Team CRMS dorm*

After we get out of shock, we get back to our dorms. I'm currently pacing around, thinking what the hell provoked Yang to attack Mercury

Sam: "*sigh* Boss..."

(Y/N): "Shut up, I'm thinking"

Mako: "From what I heard, General is on his way to girl's room"

(Y/N): "Fuck..." I looked at Ryze "Matoi, how're you holding?"

Ryze: "It's just... Yang would never attack anyone without a reason..."

(Y/N): "We know. Team CRMS, time is slipping from our hands. What do we have on Yang's defense?"

Mako: "There are Mercury's metal legs. There is no chance he would feel the pain in them"

Sam: "And Yang was surprised when she saw what happened... Like someone put an illusion on her..." we think for a while

Mako: "Hey, do we know their semblances?"

(Y/N): "No, you think..."

Mako: "That either Mercury, Emerald or Cinder have an illusion semblance"

Sam: "That would make sense. We all knew they were planning something. And by what they did they caused panic and chaos"

(Y/N): "Which will attract Grimm... Okay, we are going there"

We exited our room and get to Team's RWBY dorm, where we were met with two Atlesian Knights

(Y/N): "Mako, you know what to do"

Mako: "Got it" he gets in front of the androids and puts his hands on them. A while later they become a nice metal cubes "Done"

We entered the room, surprising the girls

Ruby: "(Y/N), how did you guys get here? General put two robots to guard our doors"

(Y/N): "Petals, we have a metal bender in our team" I pointed to Mako

Mako: "Sup"

(Y/N): "We think we know what happened?" Then the doors opened to reveal James

Ironwood: "Boys, what are you doing here?"

(Y/N): "We have something important to say, but you first James" he nodded

Ironwood: "Yang, I'm sorry, but you've left us with no choice"

Yang: "But he attacked me!"

Ironwood: "Video footage and millions of viewers say otherwise"

Weiss: "But Yang would never do that"

Ryze: "That's right General. We all know Yang for too long"

Ruby: "Yeah!"

Ironwood: "You all seem like good students, and the staff here at Beacon are fully aware that you would never lash out the way you did, under normal circumstances. What I believe, and hope this to be, is nothing more than the result of stress and adrenaline. When you're out on the battlefield, your judgment can become clouded in an instant. Sometimes you see things that simply aren't there. Even after the fight has passed"

Yang: "But I wasn't-"

Ironwood: "That's enough! The sad truth is, whether it was an accident, or an assault, it doesn't matter. The world saw you attack an innocent student. They've already drawn their own conclusions. And it's my job to inform you that...you're disqualified"

(Y/N): "James, this is a total bullcrap and you know it"

Ironwood: "This does not concern you and your team (Y/N)"

(Y/N): "This does concern us. Us eight are like one team, and now, let us tell you what we found. First off, as anybody here knows, Mako can control metal, right? He sensed it coming from Mercury's legs. And from what I know artificial limbs can't send signals to nerves"

Sam: "Second, when the accident happened Yang turned around like someone was talking to her, right?" Yang nodded "When she saw what happened she was clearly confused. Like someone put an illusion on her"

(Y/N): "From the start of the Festival, us four observed Mercury and his team. We felt something was off with them and now it showed up." Ironwood thinks for a second

Ironwood: "So you are saying that they framed Yang?" We nodded "These are some serious evidence, unfortunately Mercury and his team rushed back to Haven so we can't question them. And unfortunately that still leaves what people saw. I'm very sorry Yang, but we can't allow you to compete" with that he left the room. We stay silent for few seconds

Yang: "You guys believe me, right?"

Ruby: "Duh"

Weiss: "You're hotheaded, but not ruthless"

(Y/N): "We wouldn't be here if we didn't"

Sam: "Yang, you always fight fair and square. You'd never attack another person unprovoked"

Mako: "If anything I'd be the one who would do it, and of course I'd never do that"

Ryze: "Babe..." Yang looked at him "I told you, I will always believe you, we love each other and trust is one of the basics in a relationship. I believe you 100%"

Yang: "Thanks honey..." she smiled but then we all looked at Blake "Blake?"

Blake: "I want to believe you"

Ruby: "Huh?"

Weiss: "What's that supposed to mean?!"

Ryze: "Blake, what the fuck?!" Yang started to tear up

Yang: "Blake?"

Mako: "You may have four ears but you are a bad listener, Kitty. Did you not hear what we said to Ironwood?"

Weiss: "How can you say something like that?! Yang would never lie to us!"

Sam: "Yang is one of the most honest people I've met! Damn right she wouldn't lie! Especially to us!"

Blake: "*sigh* I had someone very dear to me change. It wasn't in an instant, it was gradual. Little choices that began to pile up. He told me not to worry. At first they were accidents, then it was self-defense...Before long, even I began to think he was right...This is all just...very familiar. But you're not him, and you've never down anything like this before...So, I want to trust you. I will trust you, but first, I need you to look me in the eyes and tell me that he attacked you. I need you to promise me that you regret having to do what you did"

Yang wiped the tears in her eyes

Yang: "I saw him attack me, so I attacked back" she said while looking directly into Blake's eyes. The cat Faunus closed her eyes and later smiled

Blake: "Okay. Thank you"

Yang: "I think I'm gonna rest up"

Blake: "We'll get out of your hair" us seven leave the room and Ruby closed the doors

Weiss: "This is a mess"

Sam: "You can say that again, Snowflake"

The doors to Team JNPR opens and Jaune walks off

Jaune: "She doing okay?" we looked inside to see them all worried about Yang

Blake: "She's doing the best she can"

Ruby: "I heard Mercury and the rest of his team rushed back to Haven to be with his family. So, until they land, no one can really question him what really happened"

Ren: "If there's anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask"

Ruby: "Alright then, if that's the case...Pyrrha"

Pyrrha: "Hm?"

Ruby: "You and (Y/N) be sure to win one for Beacon okay?"

Weiss: "It's what Yang would want"

(Y/N): "To be fair I'm still waiting to fight you Pyrrha. It will be my payback for last year regional tournament" I smirked

Pyrrha: "I'll do my best. I will be waiting for you too (Y/N)" she smiled back at me

Ruby: "I'll be sure to watch tonight in case either of you are picked!"

Blake: "Sorry, but I think I've had enough fighting for one year"

Weiss: "Ditto...Coffee?"

Blake: "Tea"

(Y/N): "Whoa, stop!" they stopped and looked at me "I don't know what they planned, but until I know, no one is going anywhere alone. And I don't want to hear any complaints. Mako, Sam, you two go with Weiss and Blake. I will go with Ruby, and Ryze..." I looked at him as he was facing Team's RWBY door "You stay with Yang. Try to help her lighten up. And don't allow anyone in besides us, okay?" He nodded and entered the room as we leave to do our things

*Ryze POV*

I entered the room and saw Yang sitting on the bed

Ryze: "Goldie..." I sat down next to her

Yang: "I told you guys I'm going to rest up. Go watch (Y/N) fight..."

Ryze: "Nope. I won't leave you, no matter how hard you try. Besides, (Y/N) ordered me to stay with you. And how can I not stay with my beautiful Goldilocks when she is sulking. You're much cuter when you smile Yang, so as a good boyfriend I'm, I will try to turn that frown into a smile"

I got my arm around her as she put her head on my shoulder and smile a little

Ryze: "See, much better" We sit there in silence on Blake's bed. Looking out the windows we saw Team JNPR walking around, chilling before the matches

???: "Hey there Firecracker" we turned around to see... Qrow

Yang: "Hey Qrow"

Ryze: "Don't kill me!" he chuckled

Qrow: "Loosen up kid. I told you something and I see I was right. So, why'd you do it?"

Yang: "You know why"

Qrow: "All I know is that you attacked a helpless kid. So either you're lying, or you're crazy"

Ryze: "Hey! She's not crazy! And I'm sure she's not lying!"

Yang: "I'm not lying"

Qrow: "Crazy. Got it" he got hands in his pockets and started walking towards us

Yang: "Who knows? Maybe I am"

Ryze: "Nope, you're not crazy. You're Yang. Don't you dare starting this song now, Goldie"

Qrow: "And here I thought your dark-haired friend was the emo one"

Yang: "I saw my mom" Qrow stopped and looked at her as I did the same "I-I was in a lot of trouble. Took a pretty hard hit. But, when I came to, the person attacking me was gone, and Ryze was there. And I thought I saw...her. Her sword, like the one in you and Dad's old picture"

Qrow: "Tch, you're not crazy Yang...That was your mom alright. Let me guess, she didn't say a word, did she?"

Yang: "How did you know that?"

Qrow: "I don't see my sister very often, but she does try to keep in touch. Whenever it suits her"

Yang: "Wait, you mean you talked to her? That was real?"

Qrow: "Yeah, she found me. Had a tip from my most recent assignment, and wanted me to give you a message"

Yang: "Why didn't you tell me sooner?!"

Qrow: "I was trying to wait for the right time, and this sure ain't it. But I guess you deserve to know" He walked to the window and looked at Yang. "She wanted me to tell you that she saved you once, but you shouldn't expect that kindness again. Raven's got an interesting way of looking at the world that I don't particularly agree with. And she's dangerous. But you're a tough egg, kiddo. Shouldn't let this tournament thing get you down. You had a slip up, sometimes bad things just happen. I'd say it's time you move on"

Yang: "Move on to what?"

Qrow: "Well, Raven let some info slip before she took off. If you ever want to track her down, I think I might be able to help" He looked at me "And I think your lover boy would help too" I nodded

*(Y/N) POV*

Me and Ruby went on a walk, before it's getting close to the start of second day of finals. We went near the landing pads, waiting in line for another bullhead to the Amity. We then hear someone taking pictures. We turned to its source to see Velvet. She notices us

Velvet: "Ruby, (Y/N), how you going?"

(Y/N): "Hey Velvet"

Ruby: "Hi, Velvet! What're you up to?"

Velvet: "Oh, you know, just working on my photography. Do you wanna see?" she showed us a picture of Sun, more specifically, his weapon"

(Y/N): "Hmm"

Ruby: "That's...better"

Velvet: "I'm...sorry to hear about your sister. Is she doing okay?"

Ruby: "Yeah, she's fine, heh. Thanks"

(Y/N): "She's with Ryze. He's trying to cheer her up"

Velvet: "I think it's just awful what people are saying about her. Yang's such a nice person"

Ruby: "Well, I'm glad someone thinks so"

Velvet: "Most people don't know what it's like on the battlefield. I mean, even experienced fighters can get scared and start seeing things. If it can happen to Coco, it can happen to anyone"

(Y/N): "What?! Velv, what happened to Coco?"

Velvet: "Well, she swore she saw Yatsu with her, in the forest during the fight with Emerald and Mercury, but he never even made it out of the geyser fields. Stress-induced hallucinations, apparently"

'If I wasn't sure they put some illusion before, now I am'

Ruby: "Yeah..." then we hear a snap as Velvet took a picture of Ruby

Velvet: "Oh! Sorry!"

(Y/N): "Hmm. Velv, mind taking a photo for us?"

Ruby: "Oooh, can you?"

Velvet: "Not a problem" I got my arm around Ruby as she hugged my side and Velvet took a picture. "It will take some time to polarize guys, but I can send it to you later"

(Y/N): "Thanks Velvet" We noticed another bullhead arriving "Oh, we've gotta go, see you later"

Ruby: "Bye Velvet!"

Me and Ruby boarded the bullhead. We got to our seats but then noticed someone who should not be here...

Ruby: "Emerald's here?"

(Y/N): "*growl* I knew they were behind all of this! Ruby, we need to alert our Teams and General" she nodded. We went on our way.

Port: "Alright, it's now time to begin the randomization process for our next fight"

We are walking through the hall and soon we see Mercury walking out from one of the side exits

Ruby: "Mercury?"

Port: "It looks like our first contender is Penny Polendina from Atlas"

(Y/N): "Heh, I fucking knew something is up with you and your team. Too bad Mako is not here. He would just tie your metal legs into a pretzel"

Ruby: "What're you doing here?"

Port: "And her opponent will be...Pyrrha Nikos from Beacon!" my and Ruby's eyes widen

Ruby: "No..."

Mercury: "Oooh, polarity vs metal. That could be bad" Ruby tried to grab Crescent Rose, but she don't have it on her back

(Y/N): "Petals, go behind me!" she did what I asked "Heh, I was looking up to this fight" I got Mortem from my hip and transformed it into scythe "Let's dance, metal legs!"

Mercury rushed at me as I prepared my scythe to counter it. He tries to kick me but I block it every time. I point Mortem's barrel at him and shoot him, sending him back. Ruby in the meanwhile tried to call her weapon, but Mercury notices this and blows her scroll up. As he was distracted I rushed him and tried to slash at him. After some attempts to block I finally connect the hit, sending him to the wall

(Y/N): "Petals! Go stop the match!" Ruby nodded and rushed past us. I looked at Mercury with a smirk as he glared at me "You know what they say, wait and it comes to you. Now..." I cracked my neck "Warm up is done, let me show you what a guardian can do'' I get my hands and Mortem's blade on fire. He looked shocked at me and later smirked

Mercury: "Cinder was right. You're a guardian of fall maiden"

(Y/N): "Hey, look who was observing. I guess that she is the one who stole Amber's power"

He didn't say anything else, but charged towards me. I side step as I use a blunt side of my scythe to send him into the wall again. I get Mortem back on my hip and grabbed him by the collar

(Y/N): "I don't know what she have in mind, but you can tell her this. The legend of Guardians is no more. I will hunt her down, even if she succeeds in getting the other half." I threw him on the floor "And now a little revenge, asshole. This is for setting up Yang" I punched him as his head recoils "This is for Amber" I punched him again "This is... you know, I kinda like punching you so no reason" I punched him third time, as his Aura shatter and he get unconscious. I later put out Mortem and turned it into scythe "And to be sure we get you out of the picture" I quickly slashed at his legs, cutting them clean off. "Good luck with walking, bastard" And I spit on his face. I was about to join Ruby, when I heard the audience shout in horror. I run towards the exit to see Ruby falling to her knees

(Y/N): "Petals, what's wro-!" I looked at the stage t o see Penny getting ripped to shreds by her strings. I instantly covered my mouth with my hand as some tears started to gather in my eyes "Penny... no..." I noticed Pyrrha, and she is just as horrified as we are

Port: "No!"

I get near Ruby and squat down near her. She instantly hugged me and started crying on my shoulder

Ruby: "Penny..."

(Y/N): "I know Ruby... I know. I'm sorry, I could've done something I..." She hugged me tighter as I tried to calm her down with some back rubs

Ruby: "*sniff* It's not your fault"

Oobleck: "Broadcast, what are you doing?! Kill the feed!"

Crew Member: "Something's wrong. We don't have control over the cameras. We can't even shut down the broadcast!"

Oobleck: "What?! How is that possible?!"

The screen is then taken over as a black queen chess piece on red background appears. A woman begins speaking

Woman: "This...is not a tragedy. This...was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children, to men who claim to be our guardians...But are, in reality, nothing more than men. Our academies' headmasters wield more power than most armies, and one was audacious enough to control both. They cling to this power in the name of peace, and yet, what do we have here?" I looked up and growled in anger

(Y/N): "Cinder you bitch, you will pay..."

Cinder: "One nation's attempt at a synthetic army, mercilessly torn apart by another star pupil. What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference. And what, I ask you, is Ozpin teaching his students? First a dismemberment, now this. Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy, yet I have witnessed neither. Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas from the tournament would help people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the Grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps, this was his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong, but I know that the existence of peace is fragile, and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves. As someone who hails from Mistral, I can assure you, the situation there is...equally undesirable. Our kingdoms are at the brink of war, yet we, the citizens are left in the dark. So I ask you, when the first shots are fired, who do you think you can trust?"

The screens turn to static and later we can hear an alarm siren. Screens now turns orange with 'CAUTION' displayed

Announcement: "Alert. Incoming Grimm attack. Threat level: Nine. Please seek shelter in a calm and orderly manner" People however started to panic and rush the exits. It seems General have the speakers under control as he tries to calm people down

Ironwood: "Ladies and gentleman, please. There is no need for panic"

His intentions were gone to waste as Nevermore showed up ate top of the arena

Sun: "A Nevermore?!"

Coco: "How did it get past the Kingdom's defenses?!"

Ren: "It wasn't alone"

Many people run past us as I watch that Nevermore was about to break in

'Guys, be safe. Try to help others...'

I noticed that Nevermore was about to break in

(Y/N): "Ruby! We need to..." I was cut off by another announcement

Announcement: "Safety Barriers Failing"

'Fuck...'

I looked at Pyrrha to see she stand up and stare at Penny's dismantled body.

Jaune: "PYRRHA! PYRRHA, THAT THING'S GOING TO BREAK IN! YOU'VE GOTTA MOVE!" Jaune jumps down the stands and run towards Pyrrha

Nora: "JAUNE!"

Jaune: "Pyrrha, please snap out of it!" Nevermore break in, with a massive wind, pushing Pyrrha and Jaune away. Before it attacked the duo, Ruby snapped out of her shock, grabbed me and used her semblance to take us all the way to the stage. She picked one of Penny's swords while I get Mortem ready and we rushed the Grimm and stabbed our weapons into it, stopping it's attack. We later get in front of Pyrrha, Ruby with angry determined face and me with intention to kill in my eyes

Pyrrha: "Ruby? (Y/N)?"

(Y/N) and Ruby: "LEAVE HER ALONE!"

Nevermore went to attack Ruby, but before it could, I shot myself forward and punched it straight in the beak, sending it into the wall

(Y/N): "YOU WANT MY FRIENDS?! YOU MUST KILL ME FIRST!" Nevermore shake itself back to its senses and it takes flight again, encircling the arena while me and Ruby prepare for its attack. But before it could hit us, a lot of lockers flew into its body, sending it to the ground. Me and Ruby watched as every student who was present in the arena picked up their weapons and prepared for battle. Given Nevermore was still alive, I rushed to help them. After Nora hit it with her hammer in the head, and Yatsuhashi cut it's wings off I jumped in the air, hooked my scythe around Nevermore's neck and cut its head clean off. After that I landed next to Ruby and Pyrrha looked at us

Pyrrha: "Ruby, (Y/N), I..." she begins tearing up "I'm so sorry" I noticed she was holding a scrap of Penny's cloth. I ran up to her and put her in a hug

(Y/N): "Pyrrha... It's not your fault. It never was or will be your fault"

Ruby: "(Y/N) is right, it's not your fault"

(Y/N): "You were set up, just like Yang"

Jaune: "They're right. Whoever was on the microphone... they're the ones that did this. And we have to make sure they don't take anyone else"

Me and Pyrrha break the hug and Jaune walks up to her, giving her her sword and shield. Later they turned to me and Ruby while we turned around to see all of the students, with their weapons ready. I walk in front of them

(Y/N): "Friends! I may not be your team leader, or you may not even know me, but, I need to ask, no, order you to fight! Whoever did this, they have a plan, plan to kill us all. But, we have all been training for this. Well, the time has come to show them what we're made of. Show them that they made a big mistake in attacking us like this. We are no longer kids. We are no longer students! Show our enemies, and show the whole world who we are! Show them all that WE ARE HUNTSMEN!" I raised my scythe high in the air as everyone started to cheer with me, ready to fight. However the moment is ruined as we can hear roars, and later we see Griffons landing on the top of the roof

Ren: "Griffons"

Neptune: "Anybody got a plan of attack?"

Ruby: "(Y/N)!"

(Y/N): "Catch!"

I threw her my scroll and she called for her locker. It arrived and as she was going to grab Crescent Rose, a Griffon landed on it. It screeched at her, and when I was ready to shoot it off from it, someone else shot it before me. Me and Ruby turned to the source to see Port and Oobleck

Port: "Students! I think it would be best for you to leave"

Ruby: "But we can he-"

Oobleck: "Miss Rose! This day will surely go down in Remnant's history. I'd prefer it if my students could live to tell about it" he gave her a smile as I walk behind her and put my hand on her shoulder

(Y/N): "Ruby, Professors are right. We have our own battles to fight" I looked at Port and Oobleck "Just be sure you live through this alive as well. Otherwise I may start missing your stories, Professor Port" They smiled at me

Port: "Don't worry Mr. (L/N). As you heard in said stories, I've lived through worse" I smiled back

(Y/N): "Of course. Good luck"

Oobleck: "To you too (Y/N)" Ruby went and grabbed her weapon, transforming it into a scythe, later stabbing it down and pointing towards the exit

Ruby: "Let's go!" I get near her with my scythe on my shoulder

(Y/N): "We will show them not to mess with us!" Students passed by us, as Velvet take a picture of us posing

Coco: "Velvet!" she rushed with the rest

(Y/N): "Ready, Petals?" she close her eyes and take a deep breath

Ruby: "Ready!"

We run after others until we end up at the docking bay where we see James puts a bullet through Grimm's head

Ruby: "What's going on?!"

Ironwood: "Grimm are crawling all over the city. The White Fang has invaded Beacon, and to make matters worse, some...vagabond has seized one of my ships. Until we regain command, the skies are out of our control. So I'm..." he stopped, pulled out his pistol and shot a Creep that was behind us "going to take it back"

Jaune: "What should we do?"

Ironwood: "You have two choices. Defend your kingdom and your school... or save yourselves. No one will fault you if you leave"

(Y/N): "I would..." they looked at me "This place was my home for over a year. I would be nothing but a coward if I just get my tail between my legs and run off while my friends are fighting for their lives. I can't speak for everyone else, but I will not run away and leave them to die. I'll fight, for my home, and for my friends" James nodded with a satisfied smile

Ironwood: "Let's move out!"

Sun: "I mean... come on!"

Jaune: "We can take a ship to Beacon!" They all leave while me and ruby watch James' ship take off

(Y/N): "We need to go" she nodded and after that we followed the rest.

After getting on the ship and taking off we saw James' ship explodes and fall to the ground. We observe what's happening with shock on our faces until Ruby runs to the back of the ship. I ran after her.

Sun: "Ruby! (Y/N)! What are you doing?!"

The rear hatch opened and we ran off the platform, flying towards the Colosseum. Ruby turned into a cloud of rose petals to land safely while I used my landing strategy from Initiation to land down next to her. We looked back to see the ship with our friends and later to each other. We nod and run inside the arena. Upon entering we spotted two unscratched rocket lockers. Ruby got to one, pressed some buttons and later stabbed her scythe on top of her locker. I did the same, except I used my semblance to melt some holding points to it. We soon flew up the sky, towards the ship. However when we were near, a Nevermore get near me and throw me out of course

'Crap'

Ruby: "(Y/N)!"

I used my semblance, trying to get it back towards the ship. Thankfully it does and soon me and Ruby get on top of the ship. Soon after I heard a screech coming from the Mountain Glenn. I looked at the horizon to see

(Y/N): "Fucking shit! It's a Wyvern!"

Ruby: "A what?!"

(Y/N): "This!" I pointed to it as it fly past us with a lot of Griffons right behind it

One lands right in front of us, but Ruby quickly slashed it. After killing it a second one lands behind her as I just shot its head off. After killing it we saw that girl from the highway. She transform from an Atlesian uniform to her clothes from before and take a picture of us

Ruby: "Huh?" the girl rushed us.

I averted her slash at my chest with a backflip while Ruby tried to hit her from behind but she dodged. Later Ruby stabs Crescent Rose into the ship and tries to shoot her. It connects but the girl shatters and Roman can be found behind her. He shots Ruby as she nearly fall from the ship, saving herself by stabbing Crescent Rose into its side

(Y/N): "Ruby!" I tried to rush Roman but that Neo girl keeps me busy

Roman: "Little Red, little Red. You and Blue are just determined to be the heroes of Vale, aren't ya?"

(Y/N): "Wait till I kill your goon. There will be no mercy for you now, Torchwick!" Neo tried a side slash, but again I blocked "Can you fuck off for a second?! I'm trying to threaten your boss!"

Ruby: "What are you doing?! Without these ships, the Grimm will destroy everything!"

Roman: "That's the plan! he pointed his cane at Ruby, but I dropkick him away as he shoots his cane.

Ruby tries to get up but when I was busy with Roman, Neo rolled over her and kicked her back to the ground. Neo flips around Ruby as she gets up, throwing a kick that Ruby blocks, and making a spin kick that hits Ruby's face, making her stumble back. She stops at the edge as I grab her by the hood, avoiding a Griffon. We later looked at the criminal duo

Ruby: "But why?! What do you get out of it?!"

Roman: "You're asking the wrong questions, Red. It's not what I have to gain. It's that I can't afford to lose!"

(Y/N): "Except your mind. You already lost it"

Ruby rushed them but Roman ducks and Neo jumps over him and kicks Ruby back. Then I rushed at them but Roman parried my strike and hit me with his cane on the side, sending me next to Ruby. She runs at them again, but this time Neo jumps on her scythe, hooking her umbrella onto it. She pulls it down, under, and around Ruby, making her lose her sniper-scythe as she is flipped into the air, and then Neo spins around before kicking her from behind towards Roman. He bounce his cane on the ground and shoot Ruby. In the last moment she grabbed Crescent Rose, stopping herself from failing again. I went to help her but Neo kicked me in the chest, making me go into the similar position as Ruby. And here we are, hanging on our scythes over the edge of the ship.

Roman: "I may be a gambling man, but even I know there's some bets you just don't take" I can hear the sound of a blade scraping on metal. Soon Neo get near us and point her umbrella's blade at us "Like it or not, the people that hired me are going to change the world" Ruby kicks a Nevermore as I send a fireball at it, setting it on fire "You can't stop 'em. I can't stop 'em. You know the old saying, if you can't beat 'em-'' Ruby noticed a button on Neo's umbrella. She pressed it, as it opens up and Neo just fly away into the Griffon infested sky like a Mary Poppins. "Neo!"

Me and Ruby climbed up back on the airship. She was kneeling while I was bend over, panting, using Mortem to support myself

Ruby: "I don't care what you say. We will stop them. And we will stop you...BET ON THAT!" We both race towards Torchwick

Roman fired two shots, and used his cane as a baseball bat to hit us. I landed on my stomach and looked up to see Torchwick hit Ruby upwards before pointing his cane at her chest and blasting her back. I meanwhile try to stand up

Roman: "You've got spirit, Red, but this is the real world!" he said as he swings his cane at Ruby, hitting her back down. "The real world is cold!" he says as he hits Ruby with his cane again. "The real world doesn't care about spirit!" he adds as he's about to swing his cane again, but Ruby kicks his leg, making him jump back. Ruby painfully walks up to him as he stands up. I make my way behind him. "You want to be a hero? Then play the part and die like every other Huntsmen in history!" he says before knocking Ruby back onto the ground. "As for me, I'll do what I do best: lie, steal, cheat, and SURVIVE-" he was cut off by me trying to hit him in the head, but he turned around, blocked the slash and hit me with his cane on my knee as I fall on the floor "Nice try, Blue. You tried to save your lady in distress but" He pointed his cane at my head as Ruby's eyes widen "She will watch you die now! Don't worry, she will meet you SOO-"

A large Griffon appeared, grabbed Roman in his beak and swallowed him whole. It later roared at us, sending us back. I get out of the way, as Ruby gets a running start, jumps on Grimm's head and later over it to make it crash into the cockpit. I stand up and make my way to her

(Y/N): "Good job Petals"

Ruby: "(Y/N)..." she hugged herself to me "I'm glad you're okay" I returned the hug

(Y/N): "I'm glad you're okay too. It looks like we don't need to worry about Torchwick anymore" then the ship stumbled "Oh, right. We're sinking"

Ruby: "Can airships even sink?!"

(Y/N): "Questions for later. Let's move out!"

I jumped off the ship as Ruby ran to grab Crescent Rose. I again used my landing strategy to slow my downfall and land on some roof. Ruby joined me soon. We later look at the airship falling down. Then I fell pain in my chest as I kneel down

Ruby: "(Y/N)! What's wrong?!"

(Y/N): "Amber..."

Ruby: "Who?"

(Y/N): "I will tell you later... Now..." I felt my scroll ringing, I get it out to see it's Ryze

Ryze: "(L/N)! Where are you and Ruby?!"

(Y/N): "We are near the Academy. We were fighting Torchwick, he took control over Atlesian Knights. He won't be a problem no, tho"

Ryze: "Thank Oum, I thought that Paladin would kill... Goldie!"

(Y/N): "Ryze! Ryze dammit!" I was met with nothing

Ruby: "Yang?"

(Y/N): "Something happened. We need to go" We both went on our way back to Beacon

*Timeskip*

Port: "That's it! Everybody on board! This is a mandatory evacuation!"

Oobleck: "A safe zone has been established in Vale! Please, remain calm and listen to Atlas personnel" Me and Ruby ran towards Weiss as she was looking over something in shock. Sam was standing nearby, overlooking now destroyed school and Ryze was squatting next to him, with some tear stains on his cheek and a cigarette in his mouth. He was shaking. Zwei noticed us and barked, getting their attention

Weiss: "Ruby! (Y/N)!"

Ruby: "Oh, we found you"

Weiss: "Where have you two-"

(Y/N): "Weiss, it's not important right now. We're fine. What's going on?" Weiss looked down

Ruby: "Weiss? What's it?"

Weiss got out of our way. And what we saw shocked us. Ren and Nora were on the ground, in pain, but thankfully alive. Mako was sitting nearby with some bandage over the left side of his face. Blake was lying, with some bandage over her torso, alive too. What shocked us the most is seeing Yang, unconscious and missing her right arm, with only a bandaged, bloodied stump left. Blake wake up and reached for Yang's arm, tearing up

Blake: "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry"

Ruby: "Yang..."

(Y/N): "Fucking shit!" I grabbed an Atlesian knight torso lying nearby and throw it with my full strength away from the landing pad "Fuck! AGHHH!"

Mako: "(Y/N), it's not your fault..."

(Y/N): "Not my fault?! We fucking know that Cinder and the rest are evil! But instead of telling Ozpin about our suspicions, we tried to play heroes! And look where it gets us! Penny is dead! Yang lost her arm and you may lose your eye! And it's all our fault! My fault!"

Ruby: "Cookie..."

(Y/N): "No, Ruby. No matter how many times you say it, it won't change a thing..." Ryze seemed to finally calm down, he walked up to me and punched me straight in the jaw. I slightly recoil from the hit

Ryze: "Can you shut up?! THIS! IS! NOT! YOUR! FAULT!"

(Y/N): "Matoi"

Ryze: "Don't 'Matoi' me! We can't do nothing! Even if we told Ozpin, it would not change a thing! And what you're doing now is hurting not only me, not only our team. Look behind you" I did to see Ruby starting to cry

(Y/N): "Ruby... I'm sorry" she looked at me as I opened up my arms for a hug. She get the tears away and accepted the embrace

Ruby: "Don't you ever do that again, mister"

(Y/N): "I won't" we broke the hug

Ryze: "And now it's better, but..." he looked at Yang "I was too late. I'm sorry Ruby"

Sun: "Hey... she's gonna be okay. The soldiers have a ship ready to take you guys to Vale"

Nora: "But Jaune and Pyrrha are still missing" she tried to stand up but can't

Ruby: "What?!" then the adrenaline stopped working as I felt a pain coming from my knee. I sit down, earning a worried look from Weiss and Ruby

(Y/N): "Don't worry, I'm fine. Sun, can you fetch me some bandage. I think Torchwick fractured my kneecap..." he nodded and walked away. He later return with it, and pointed up as I started to bandage my left leg

Sun: "Look guys, that giant Grimm keeps circling the school. Even the White Fang are pulling out! We all have to go. Now!"

Ren: "We're not... leaving"

Ruby: "I'll find them...I'll find them and I'll bring them back"

Weiss: "No... We will find them. Watch after Blake and Yang"

(Y/N): "I'm coming with you" I said as I tried to stand

Ruby: "What?! (Y/N), no, you can't! You're hurt!"

(Y/N): "Hey, I may stumble a little, but..." I get up as I feel my Aura was slowly healing my knee "I can still fight"

Ruby: "Cookie..."

(Y/N): "Ruby Rose, don't 'Cookie' me. I'm going with you and that's final" Knowing she won't out talk me she sighed while I turn to my team "Gentleman, stay here and watch over evacuation. Grimm may attack again. That's an order"

Ryze: "And what happened to 'I don't like the rules of one person'?"

(Y/N): "Is that a problem Matoi?"

Ryze: "No. Just come back alive you asshole"

Sam: "We will wait for you guys. Go find those two" I nodded I turned back to Weiss and Ruby as they nodded too

Weiss: "We'll be back"

Sun: "*groan* You'd better be! Idiots" Us three run towards the Beacon's Tower, when we were near Weiss received a call on her scroll

Weiss: "It's Jaune!" she answered the call "Where are you?!"

Jaune: "Weiss! Please, you have to stop her!"

Weiss: "What?"

Jaune: "Pyrrha! She's going after that woman, at the top of the tower. She doesn't stand a chance!"

Weiss: "Jaune, what are you talking about?! Where are you?!"

Jaune: "DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME! Please, you have to save Pyrrha"

Weiss: "We will. Are you okay?" We heard Jaune screams and cries

Jaune: "Please" he cried

Weiss: "Jaune? Jaune!"

We look up to see Wyvern circling around the tower, sending out more black drops of goo that hit the ground and spawn more Grimm, while it lands on one side of the tower and roars. Ruby then takes out her sniper rifle

Ruby: " I have a plan"

Weiss: "You always do" she takes out her rapier

(Y/N): "I got you covered, girls"

I get my scythe out and us three run forward, towards the Grimm, getting closer to the tower. We started fighting the Grimm. An Ursa get in our way, but I just jumped before the girls and cut it's head of clean. Weiss swings her rapier at another Ursa as Ruby used her scythe to hit a Creep

Ruby: "We've gotta hurry!"

(Y/N): "Weiss! Summon glyphs on the tower!" she nodded and soon there is a path of glyphs leading all the way to the top.

Weiss: "You two can do this"

We nodded. Ruby used her semblance while I used my fire to get up.We were near the top. We jumped up and land at the top of the tower... But we're too late. We looked in horror as Cinder fired her arrow, impaling Pyrrha's chest.

(Y/N): "No..."

We continued to look in shock as Pyrrha tried to gasp for air. Cinder using her power incinerates Pyrrha's body, as it disintegrates into ashes that fly away with wind. I started remembering all the good times we have. Our meeting in Sanctum, our training, every single fight we had and how we always laughed after them. Our surprising reunion in Beacon, us two training Jaune, me trying to help her about her crush on him and later what I swore if she'll become a fall maiden. I didn't notice as my eyes started flashing silver light. Ruby hugged herself and later stood up as silver light also emitted from her eyes

(Y/N) and Ruby: "Pyrrha!" the Wyvern screech as it gets enveloped in silver light

Cinder: "What?!"

A while later the light stopped as I get a massive headache and Ruby was lying unconscious

(Y/N): "Oh fuck..." I held my head "It was even worse than before"

I looked around to see that Wyvern turned into stone. Cinder was nowhere to be found. I walked to where Pyrrha's body was only to see her red cloth, some parts of her armor and her headpiece

(Y/N): "Pyrrha... I'm sorry... If only I..."

???: "What happened here?" I turned around to see Qrow

(Y/N): "Me and Ruby used our silver eyes, as you can see *sniff* by that Wyvern"

Qrow: "Listen, kid. We have to go" he went and picked up Ruby as I picked up her weapon and turned it back to it's compact mode. After that I put it on my back and Mortem on my hip. Later I pick up Pyrrha's armor

(Y/N): "Where are we going?"

Qrow: "Patch. You gonna meet kiddo's dad"

(Y/N): "Well, I already did met Tai, hehe"

Qrow: "I really need to get in touch with him more"

*timeskip, near the ships*

Sam: "Boss! What was that?! From where did that light come from?!"

(Y/N): "I will tell you later" I looked around to see one Ice Queen is missing "Where is Weiss?"

Sam: "You see... Her father got her back to Atlas."

(Y/N): "Oh for... and Blake?"

Sam: "She was taken to the hospital with Yang and Mako. So, where to-"

???: "(Y/N)!" I turned around to see Jaune, Nora and Ren walking to me. I instantly get my head down

Jaune: "What happened?! Where is Pyrrha?!"

(Y/N): "Jaune..." I presented him the armor pieces and the red cloth. Ren was shocked and Nora gasped as some tears started to gather in her eyes "I'm sorry bro, we were too late" I started tearing up

Jaune: "Pyrrha..." I hugged him

(Y/N): "I know *sniff* It's hard for me too... But, Pyrrha would have wanted you to have this" we broke the hug and I handed him the armor pieces. He hugged it to his chest and started bawling his eyes out. I cannot look at him like this anymore. I turned around and entered the bullhead, where I passed out..."

*Timeskip*

Me and Ryze are in the Xiao Long household. He was helping Yang to get used to being one armed. Well... when she was sleeping I measured her stump and sent a letter to my mom. I hope she will be able to create Yang a new prosthetic. Sam... Sam said he will go to Atlas. He wants to get Weiss out. I wish him luck, but knowing Jacques it will be hard. Mako, his sister and his parents moved to Mistral. His dad got a new contract from their government. Given that Cinder and her pack came from Haven, we decided to meet up there when we get our goals. I was currently in Ruby's room with Tai as she was still unconscious after she used her silver eyes. I only got a small migraine.

(Y/N): "Come on Petals, wake up..." Then she opened her eyes and looked around. "Petals!" my scream woken up Tai

Tai: "Ruby!" We get near her bed "You're awake!"

Ruby: "Ugh, what happened?"

Tai: "*sigh* (Y/N) found you, unconscious, and later your Uncle Qrow got you both out of there, though. They brought you here safe"

Ruby: "Wait! Yang! Is she alright?!"

(Y/N): "Petals... you see..."

Tai: "Uh... She's, uh...She's gonna be alright. I think she's just...I think it's just going to take some time...for her to get used to things. She's too strong to let this stop her, and she have her boyfriend right next to her" he wiped some tears from his eyes "I'm just glad to have my girls back at home" I patted his back

(Y/N): "Not only you're glad Tai. I'm happy to see you awake, Ruby" I smiled at her

Ruby: "What happened to the school?! And Vale?! Were they able to clear out the Grimm?"

Tai: "Things at Vale are under control, but the school...it's...It's not that simple. That thing, whatever it is, doesn't seem to be dead. Don't get me wrong, you two did a number on it, but it's not disappearing. It's...kind of...frozen. I know that doesn't sound too bad, but it keeps attracting more Grimm to the school"

Ruby: "... We did what?" she asked clearly confused

Tai: "Hm?"

Ruby: "You said we did a number on it. What do you mean?"

Tai: "...I... Look, that's not important right now. We can talk about it later. Things are just... kind of a mess" I noticed Qrow in the doorway

Qrow: "It's always a mess" he takes a big swing from his flask "Mind if us three have a minute?"

Tai: "What, I can't stay here?"

Qrow: "Tai... Please" Tai stood up and kissed Ruby on the forehead

Tai: "I'm glad you're alright. I'll go make us some tea" he left the room. Qrow the pulls up a chair and sits next to Ruby's bed while I sit on it, next to her

Qrow: "So, how you feeling?"

Ruby: "Um, uh... I kind of hurt all over" Qrow and I chuckled

Qrow: "That makes sense, after what you and matchstick did" he crossed his arms

Ruby: "You guys keep saying that. That we did something. What are you talking about?"

Qrow: "What's the last thing you remember?"

Ruby: "(Y/N) and I ran up the side of the tower, and when we got to the top, I- *gasp* Pyrrha! Is she..." I get my head down

(Y/N): "Ruby, Pyrrha's dead... I'm sorry..." Ruby started to cry

Ruby: "We-we...We got to the top, and I saw Pyrrha...and Cinder...And then everything went white" she clench her fingers around her bed sheets as her tears drop down on it

Qrow: "Anything else?"

Ruby: "I remember... my head hurting" I chuckled

(Y/N): "That's the natural aftermath of using it..."

Ruby: "Using what?!"

Qrow: "The night you two met Ozpin, what was the first thing he said to you?"

Ruby: "U-uh I don't know. I think it was something about-"

Qrow and (Y/N): "Silver eyes"

Qrow: "That's an extremely rare trait"

Ruby: "So?"

Qrow: "...You're special, Ruby. And not in the 'Daddy loves his special angel' kind of way. You're special the same way your mom was. Remnant's full of legends and stories. Some of them true, some made up. But there's one Oz told me from a very long time ago. Back before huntsmen, before kingdoms, it was said that those born with silver eyes were destined to lead the life of a warrior. You see, the creatures of Grimm, the most fearsome monsters mankind had ever encountered, were afraid of those silver-eyed warriors. They were the best of the best. It was said that even a single look from one of these fighters could strike a Grimm down. Heh, it's a ridiculous story"

Ruby: "But, you think that we might be..." I chuckled

(Y/N): "Petals, a giant Wyvern is currently frozen on top of Beacon's Tower, and we're here, safe"

Ruby: "Wait... Wait... Did (Y/N) tell you what Ozpin said to us? The night we met? How did you know?" I shake my head

Qrow: "...All those missions I go on. All the times I'm away in some far off place. It's been for Ozpin, but he's missing now...Something's been set in motion, and with Oz gone, I'll have to pick up where he left off"

Ruby: "Then what can we do? If we're special, then we can help. Right"

Qrow: "You really want to help? Get some rest. You're in no condition to go anywhere right now. And Matchstick here is still healing his leg" he begins to leave the room "Besides, our enemies' trail leads all the way to Haven. That be a quite a trip for a pipsqueak like you" he winked at her "Catch you later, lovebirds'' and he leave the room

Ruby: "(Y/N), do you believe in what Uncle Qrow said?"

(Y/N): "Petals, I never told you about this, but I used my silver eyes before. I still don't know how, but they activated. Now." I turned to her "I'm just glad you are safe and awake. I was missing those beautiful eyes" she blushed

Ruby: "Shut up. Cookie... Where is your team?"

(Y/N): "Well, Ryze is downstairs. He is trying to help Yang. Mako's parents moved with him to Mistral and Sam went to Atlas"

Ruby: "But why?"

(Y/N): "I will tell you later. I assume you want to check on Yang" she nodded and we exited her room and walked to Yang's. She was lying on her bed, looking out the window

Ruby: "Yang?"

(Y/N): "Hey Goldilocks" we were met with nothing. We turn to leave but Yang stop us

Yang: "Ruby. (Y/N)" We turned around and Yang looked at us with some tears in her eyes. Ruby instantly went to hug her

Ruby: "I'm so glad you're okay" she started crying too

Yang: "But I'm not" Ruby broke the hug and looked at Yang's stump "It's all gone. The school... Penny... Pyrrha... and" she looked at her stump

Ruby: "Yang, where are Weiss and Blake?"

Yang: "Weiss' father... came for her"

Ruby: "What? What do you mean?"

Yang: "No one outside of Vale knows what happened here. Before the tower fell, the last thing people saw was Atlas attacking innocent people and Grimm destroying the city. Everyone's scared. No one knows who to trust. So, Weiss' father came to take her back to Atlas, where he thinks it's safe. She's gone"

(Y/N): "If Sam is successful, she is not"

Yang: "Yeah... if..."

Ruby: "What about-"

Yang: "And Blake ran! Sun saw her go. After we got to the city, she just...RAN"

Ruby: "But why?"

Yang: "I don't know... And I don't care"

Ruby: "... There has to be a reason she-"

Yang: "No there doesn't! Sometimes bad things just happen Ruby" Ruby hang her head down

Ruby: "So what do we do now?"

Yang: "You two can do whatever you want. I'm gonna lie here"

Ruby: "Yang-"

Yang: "Just leave me alone" Ruby went back to her room, but half the way she stopped and turned around

Ruby: "I love you" I was just standing there

Yang: "(Y/N), can you leave me alone, please? I really don't want to speak with anyone now"

(Y/N): "You got this, Yang. Oh, and I have a present ready for you. It should come in a few months..."

I leave her room and head outside the house to see Ryze sitting on a trunk, smoking a cigarette. I get near him, get it out of his mouth and crushed it

Ryze: "You could've at least let me finish, (L/N)"

(Y/N): "Stop fucking around with this stuff. You'll end up with lung cancer" I sit on a log nearby "So, Yang is talking to you?" he shake his head

Ryze: "I tried everything. Puns, presents, complements but she is still in sorrow after losing her arm..."

(Y/N): "Man, that's bad... Listen, about our plan to go to Mistral... I think you should stay with Yang"

Ryze: "Yeah, right. She doesn't even talk to me. I would be of a better use if I go with you"

(Y/N): "Bro, listen. She still lumps over her arm, but, I may or may not get her a new one..."

Ryze: "You sent a letter to your mom, don't you?"

(Y/N): "Yup! I even got some blueprints for her shotgun gauntlets from Tai. Her new arm should be even better than before" he chuckled

Ryze: "Heh, you and your crazy ideas sometimes" He stood up "Okay, I will stay with Yang. What about you?"

(Y/N): "I think Ruby wants to go to Mistral so I will tag along. If anything we will see each other there"

Ryze: "Mako is already there and Sam will get our Ice Queen out. The only person missing would be Blake, but Sun is with her"

(Y/N): "Humans are not allowed in Menagerie, if you're not a Faunus they will turn you around. Okay, I will head back. I still need to heal my leg, hehe"

*Timeskip, winter*

Me and Ruby are currently sneaking out of her home. We got ready for our trip to Mistral.

???: "Hey you two..."

Ruby: "Hey Jaune. Haven's a long way to go"

Jaune: "I know...But it's the only way we have"

Ruby: "And you're sure you want to come along?"

???: "The journey will be perilous" I looked to the right to see Ren and Nora

Ren: "And whether we'll find answers at the end is entirely uncertain"

Nora: "But we wouldn't be here if we weren't up for it"

(Y/N): "That's right"

Ruby: "Then let's get started"

Us five started to walk through the forest of Patch. We stopped by Summer's grave for one last prayer. Ruby walked back as I stay for a while longer

(Y/N): "Summer, please look after us on this journey..." I only heard her whisper

Summer: "I will. Good luck, (Y/N)" I returned to the rest and we went on our way towards Mistral

'Whenever I find you, Cinder, I will rip your beating heart out of your chest... Your guardian will become your executioner...'

A/N Well. I got bored and spent about 10 hours making this, but, here we are. An extra long chapter, containing the whole Fall of Beacon. Vol 4 will mainly focus on the journey, but there should be some things with what will happen to Sam and Ryze. I won't post anything about Mako, because, well, he mainly just sits in Mistral and helps his dad. See you guys in Vol 4!
