*(Y/N) POV*

Few days has passed since our encounter with Roman. And... Blake was destroying herself. She didn't sleep, didn't eat and was skipping classes. When either of us asked her if something's wrong she just walked away to library, where she spend most of her time trying to find out everything about the White Fang and what they're doing. I on the other hand had my head filled with what Penny said. If James says that the time of peace will end soon, it must be a real deal. That's why he brought the army with him, as a backup if anyone wants to attack during Vytal Festival... 

My trail of thoughts was broken when I felt a punch to my shoulder. Sam noticed I was in trans and decided to wake me up

(Y/N): "Huh? Something happened?"

Sam: "You were in trans (Y/N). You are slowly starting to behave like Blake"

(Y/N): "Oh, sorry. It just... I had a bad feeling about what happened back at the highway. I think there is really something bigger behind Torchwick and the White Fang... not saying anything about Mako nearly destroying my weapon..."

Sam: "Listen, you are my partner and we need to support each other. Us four care about each other like brothers. (Y/N), if something happens we will be there with you. Loosen up a little, the dance is coming. Invite Ruby, spend some time together. Later we can have some after party in our dorm. Ryze get us some vodka, he? hee?"

(Y/N): "I will turn into an alcoholic with you guys. Okay, so, something happened?"

Sam: "Pyrrha just beat the entire Team CRDL"

(Y/N): "I'm not surprised. Pyrrha beat me numerous times and we both are skilled fighters" I turned to the fight to see kneeling Cardin before Pyrrha as buzzer rang and Glynda walked up

Glynda: "And that's the match"

Cardin: "Lucky shot"

Glynda: "Well done, miss Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament"

Pyrrha: "Thank you, Professor"

Glynda: "Alright, now I know that's a tough act to follow, but we have time for one more sparing match. Any volunteers? Ms. Belladonna?" she wake up "You've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you..." the guy from behind us... I think his name was Mercury, raised his hand

Mercury: "I'll do it"

Glynda: "Mercury, is it? Very well, let's find you an opponent"

Mercury: "Actually, I wanna fight... her" he pointed at Pyrrha

Pyrrha: "Me?"

Glynda: "I'm afraid Miss Nikos has just finished a match, I'd recommend you choose another partner. If you want to face someone as strong as her I suggest Mr.(L/N) "

I raised my hand

(Y/N): "I'm sorry Professor Goodwitch, but my weapon needs a maintenance after I fought Michael during last lesson"

Glynda: "That's unfortunate... Anyone wants to volunteer?"

Pyrrha: "Actually, Professor, I don't mind fighting him. I'd be happy to oblige" I get back on my desk, get ready to sleep

(Y/N): "Wake me up when Pyrrha will kick his ass"

Mako: "You seem out of mood (Y/N)"

(Y/N): "Well, how am I suppose to be in mood when someone  turns my scythe's blade into a pretzel, huh?" he scrapped his head

Mako: "Yeah... sorry"

(Y/N): "Don't sweat it. I wanted to fight that Mercury guy, but without my weapon I can't do it" and I get my head back down. 

Ruby: "Don't be sad Cookie, I will help you with Mortem"

(Y/N): "Thanks Petals" I closed my eyes, hearing only steal clashing and excited noises from Ruby

Ruby: "Hey, your friend's doing pretty good"

As I heard a shot from Pyrrha I got my head up. Pyrrha started rushing Mercury and when she was about to land a blow, he turned to Glynda

Mercury: "I forfeit..." Pyrrha gasped and stopped few feet behind him

Pyrrha: "*gasp* You, don't even want to fight?"

Mercury: "What's the point? You're a world renowned fighter, we're obviously leagues apart"

'Yeah, right... something is wrong with him and his team... That black haired girl is with them if I saw right'

Glynda: "In that case, Pyrrha Nikos is the victor of the match again. Next time you may want to think a little harder before choosing an opponent"

Mercury: "I'll be sure to do that" he walked of and buzzer beeped, signaling the end of lessons. Blake jolts awake

Glynda: "That is all for today. And remember the dance is this weekend, but you all have your first mission on Monday. I will not accept any excuses" We walked off  the class. Then Ryze flew up and Sun gets near Blake

Sun: "Hey, Blake! You, uh, doing okay?"

Blake: "I'm fine"

Sun: "So I hear there's this dance going on this weekend... Ah, sounds pretty lame but, you and me, I'm thinking, not as lame,huh?"

(Y/N): Smooth, really smooth..."

Blake: "What?"

Sun: "The dance! This weekend! You wanna go, or what?"

Blake: "I don't have time for a stupid dance. I thought you of all people would get that" Blake walks away as Sun slumps in sadness. Sam went to pat his back

Sam: "Don't worry man. She is not herself since fighting Torchwick last week" After that Ryze got back and we get some distance from the girls

Ryze: "Everything is done, boss. You can start"

(Y/N): "Thanks. How're you planning to ask Yang?"

Ryze: "My dad send me my guitar during the break. You should know where I'm going with this"

(Y/N): "Yeah" I get near Ruby "Petals, can you go with me somewhere?"

Ruby: "Okay. Guys, I will see you in our dorm later" they nodded and walked of with my team behind. Me and Ruby get to the courtyard and we sit under one tree

(Y/N): "Ruby, I know we are dating and everything, and it's stupid of me to ask, but. Ruby Rose" I get one rose. I asked Ryze to put it nearby this tree "Do you want to come with me to the dance?" she instantly get excited and she hugged me

Ruby: "Of course I will go with you! I thought you'd never ask!" I hugged her back and give her the rose

We stay in hug for a while, then we again started to look into each other eyes, closing the distance and finally, our lips touched. Ruby get her arms on my neck as I got mine around her waist. 

'Finally! No one interrupted us! We had our second kiss!'

To my surprise it turned out to something I would call a make out session. We broke the kiss and I looked at Ruby surprised

(Y/N): "Wo ho ho. Rose is really showing her thorns. And here I thought you were more innocent. Ruby, where the heck did you learn that?"

Ruby: "Blake left her book on her bed, I think it was something about ninjas. I read some pages and this was on one of them"

(Y/N): "Oh my Oum... Ruby, not that I didn't liked it but you need to tell Blake to hide her filthy books"

Ruby: "I told her it was filth... but I wanted to try it too... Oh hey! We finally had our second kiss! And no one interrupted us!"

(Y/N): "Yeah. Love you Petals"

Ruby: "Love you too Cookie" we sit under that tree for a while, enjoying the view. We later get back to the dorms. "I will put that rose into the water and we can go repair Mortem later" We entered her room just in time to see Yang and Weiss trying to convince Blake to go to the dance

Blake: "You what?" Me and Ruby sit on Weiss's bed

Ruby: "Oh, right. We want you to go to the dance"

Blake: "That's ridiculous"

Yang: "Blake, we're worried about you. This investigation is starting to mess with your head"

Weiss: "You can't sleep, you hardly eat, and to be honest, your grades have been suffering"

(Y/N): "To be fair Blake, you look like a zombie. Bags under your eyes, messy hair, you can't go like that! One day you will collapse and what will happen after?!"

Blake: "You think I care about grades or my look?! People's lives are at stakes!"

Yang: "We know, and we're still trying to figure out what Torchwick is up to"

Ruby: "Thanks to you and Sun, we know they're operating somewhere outside of southeast Vale"

Weiss: "And, the Schnee company records singled out Vale as the primary target for Dust robberies over the last few months"

Yang: "Don't forget about their missing military tech too"

(Y/N): "I don't believe Torchwick got Paladin before it's official release. I know General likes to keep new tech in secret until it's premiere. Oh, and I checked police databases. Except what we already know I found nothing there"

Blake: "But there's still unanswered questions!"

Ruby: "Blake, you won't be able to find anything if you can't even keep your eyes open!"

Yang: "All we're asking is that you take it easy for one day"

Weiss: "It will be fun! Yang and I will make sure of it"

Yang: "Yeah! We're planning the whole event" Blake got surprised

Blake: "Excuse me?"

Weiss: "Team CFVY's away mission lasted longer than expected"

Yang: "So, Weiss and I were asked to pick up where they left off. And now we can make sure you have the perfect night"

Weiss: "And once it's all over, we'll return for our search, rested and ready"

Ruby: "So, what do you think?"

Blake: "I think this is a colossal waste of time. I'll be in the library" and she went out

(Y/N): "Geez, what a stupid kitty..."

Yang: "*sigh* Great"

Weiss: "She can't keep going on like this" then we heard knocking from the doors. Weiss gets up to answer it and we all see Jaune with Ryze's guitar

Jaune: "Weiss!" she slammed the door in his face

(Y/N): "Was that.. Ryze's guitar?"

Yang: "I hope not. He will kill Jaune for touching it"

Jaune: "Oh, come on, open the door! I promise not to sing" Weiss opened the doors "I lied! Weiss Schnee, will you accompany me, to the dance on... Sunday?"

(Y/N): "Jaune, it's not Ryze's guitar? Right?"

Weiss: "Are you done?"

Jaune: "Yes?"

Weiss: "No" we then hear Ryze screaming

Ryze: "I swear! When I find that motherfucker who touched my guitar I will kick his ass all the way to Atlas!" Jaune gulped and Weiss slammed the door again. After that she turned to us

Weiss: "What?!"

Yang: "And that is why they call you the Ice Queen"

(Y/N): "Exactly" as Ruby was about to fall I catch her "Be careful Rubes. We don't want you to break a leg before we dance together" I winked at her and she blushed while I helped her up

Yang: "Cuuute" we gave Yang a glare and Weiss spoke up

Weiss: "All my life, boys have only cared about the perks of my last name. Besides, I already have a date mind"

Ruby: "Date or no date, none of this will matter if we can't get Blake to go"

(Y/N): "Oh Ruby, she will go. Don't worry" Me and Yang winked at each other and she whispered something to me

Yang: "You got it?"

(Y/N): "Yup" I handed her the laser pointer "I couldn't find any catnip so this should do the trick" Yang hid the laser pointer and I checked the time "Oh, right. I was supposed to go with Pyrrha to train Jaune. Goodnight girls"

Weiss and Yang: "Goodnight (Y/N)" Ruby pecked my cheek

Ruby: "Goodnight Cookie" I exited their room. After closing the door behind me I could hear Yang squeals and Ruby shouting Yang's name. I made my way to the roof just in time to see Jaune's and Pyrrha's spar finished

Pyrrha: "Well done! Your swordplay's improved immensely" she helped Jaune get up. I can see he had a black eye

Jaune: "I couldn't have done it without you two"

(Y/N): "Em, Jaune?" I pointed to my eye "Did Ryze get to you?"

Jaune: "Emm, yeah. He said if I touch his stuff again he will break my arm..." I laughed

(Y/N): "Him and Mako are hanging out too much. Don't worry."

Pyrrha: "Soon you and Ryze will be on equal level Jaune. So, are you ready to move to Aura?"

Jaune: "I'm actually thinking maybe we just skip Aura for tonight? Might go on a jog or something"

Pyrrha: "Come on, I know you get frustrated, but you must keep trying. I'm sure you'll discover your Semblance any day now"

Jaune: "That's not it. It's just... It's dumb"

Pyrrha: "What is it? Jaune, you know you can tell us"

(Y/N): "It's Weiss, am I right?" he seemed surprised but nodded

Jaune: "Yeah... It's Weiss" Pyrrha get a sad expression on her face

'If I wasn't sure before, now I'm. Pyrrha... I'm sorry but Jaune is just too dense'

Pyrrha: "Oh. What about her?"

Jaune: "I asked her to the dance and she shot me down. Big surprise, right?"

Pyrrha: "Well, I believe the saying goes... there's... plenty of fish in the sea"

Jaune: "That's easy for you to say. You've probably got guys clamoring each other just to ask you out"

(Y/N): "If only you know Jaune..." Pyrrha smiled

Jaune: "Oh, please. If Pyrrha doesn't get a date to the dance, I'll wear a dress. Heh" he walks away as I get near Pyrrha and put my hand on her shoulder

(Y/N): "Guess I will need to get him a dress" we chuckled "Pyrrha, I see that you have feelings for him" she blushed "I also know Weiss for a long time. Jaune is just not her type. I just want to know, why do you do this to yourself Pyrrha?"

Pyrrha: "I... I don't know..."

(Y/N): "Let me tell you. Jaune is a dense idiot. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. You need to make the first move, girl! He won't see your feelings if you won't serve them to him on a silver platter" I started walking off "Goodnight Pyrrha. I hope you will listen to my advice" I get back to my room

(Y/N): "Matoi"

Ryze: "Huh? What did I do?" he said while tuning his guitar

(Y/N): "You punched Jaune"

Ryze: "Hey. He should know better not to touch our stuff. What would you do if he touched your laptop?"

(Y/N): "Well, I would burn his hair... Okay, I see where are you going with this" I get the box from under my bed and started repairing Mortem "Mako, can you lend me a hand?"

Mako: "Sure thing" he get near my bed

(Y/N): "If you could straighten this piece with your semblance" he did what I asked him for "and this" I pointed to another place on Mortem's blade "Okay, now I only need to replace the barrel and it should be good" I proceed to do so and after thirty minutes I'm finished "Now, to test it out. Better hide somewhere guys, if springs got damaged, we will have a flying scythe blade in our room" they get into the bathroom while I turned Mortem into it's scythe mode without any problems. I inspect it's blade "Hmm, it's not cracked or anything" I get my finger on it and make a cut to the blood "and it's still sharp. Okay, it works! You can get out guys!" I get my finger in some paper towel lying nearby

Sam: 'I'm still waiting when your next modification for your weapon will make our room explode..."

(Y/N): "Quiet you with little faith... I know how to build a weapon, thank you" Ryze meanwhile get his guitar on his back and started walking out

Ryze: "Before I forgot, I need to ask Yang. Be right back" he went doing his thing

(Y/N): "You guys have any date in mind?"

Mako and Sam: "Nope!"

(Y/N): "So, you are getting there in hopes you will met a lonely lady?" they nodded

Sam: "I assumed you asked Ruby" now it's my turn to nod. Then Ryze returned with a lipstick mark on his cheek

(Y/N): "And I assume Ryze just asked Yang. Do we have our suits?" Sam get near our wardrobe and put out four black tuxedos

Sam: "Fresh delivery from mom. I got you a red tie and Ryze got a yellow tie to match your partners"

Ryze: "Our mom send us these?!"

Sam: "Don't worry, she doesn't know you are here. I only said 'for my teammates'"

(Y/N): "Okay, time for bed guys"

*Next day*

I got a message from Ruby to get into the ballroom and to bring Ryze with me, so, here we are. We entered the room and the first thing I see is my Rose sadly slumping near the table

'She is still worried about Blake' 

I made my way to her while Ryze went to Yang and asked her what to do. Soon he was setting up decorations near the ceiling

(Y/N): "Hey Petals" I sat next to her

Ruby: "Oh. Hey Cookie" she pecked my cheek

(Y/N): "Ruby, you are still worried about Blake?"

Ruby: "Yeah..." I put a hand on her shoulder

(Y/N): "My Rose, she will come. Yang and I already got a plan to do so" Just as Ruby was about to speak Weiss slammed her hand in front of us with two similar looking tablecloths

Weiss: "I need you to pick a tablecloth" Ruby was confused 

Ruby: "Aren't they both the same?" Weiss sighed frustrated

Weiss: "(Y/N), a little help?"

(Y/N): "Hmmm" I think for a while "Go with this one" I pointed to the one in her left hand "Ghostwhite would fit better with overall decorations than aliceblue. Besides it's feel softer" Weiss smiled

Weiss: "Thank you" and she walked away

Ruby: "How did you know the difference? They were the same things"

(Y/N): "When you grow up in Atlas, especially in those rich areas you need to know about this stuff"

Ruby: "Ohh"

(Y/N): "Or maybe I guessed? Who knows? Only me" she giggled. In the meanwhile Yang brings this massive speaker and put it down with a thud, making our table jump a little. After dusting her hands she walks near us

Yang: "So, have you picked out a dress yet?"

Ruby: "What's the point? Who cares about the dance if Blake isn't going?"

(Y/N): "Petals, don't tell me you are not going" I said hurt

Ruby: "Yes, I mean no... I mean... Ohh I just want all my friends to be there together" and she slopped back on the table

Yang: "Don't worry, she's going. Besides, (Y/N) already asked you! I can't wait to see you two dancing together!" she then looked at Weiss "Weiss! I thought we agreed: no doilies!"

Weiss: "If I don't get doilies you get no fog machines" Then Sun and Neptune entered the room

Neptune: "Your dance is going to have fog machines?"

Weiss: "We were thinking about it"

'Hehe, Neptune 3, Jaune 0'

Neptune: "That's pretty cool"

(Y/N): "Weiss and Neptune sitting on a tree!" I teased them

Weiss: "Be quiet you dolt!"

Sun: "You ladies excited for dress up?"

Ruby: "Pfft, yeah right"

Yang: "Laugh all you want. I'll be turning heads tomorrow night"

(Y/N): "Yeah, Ryze's especially" Yang send a kiss to Ryze as he winked at her

Weiss: "What are you two in?"

Sun: "Uh, this"

Neptune: "Ignore him, for he knows not what he says"

Sun: "Hey, I may have moved to Mistral but I grew up in Vacuo. It's not exactly a shirt and tie kind of place. Right, Ryze?"

Ryze: "Damn straight"

Yang: "Ryze Matoi! If you show up to the dance wearing shorts and a t-shirt I will break up with you!" she then turned to Sun "We've noticed"

Sun: "So uh... what does Blake thinks of all of this? She's still being all, ya know... Blake-y"

Weiss: "Obviously"

Ruby: "I still can't think of a way to change her mind"

(Y/N): "But me and Yang can"

Yang: "Guys. Trust me and (Y/N). Blake will be at the Dance tomorrow" and Yang walked out of the ballroom

Ruby: "What's your plan (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Yang wanted me to get her a laser pointer and some catnip. She wants to lure Blake out and have a sincere talk with her"

Ruby: "We tried that before and it didn't work..."

(Y/N): "This time our black cat will have no choice but to listen"

Weiss: "And why are you so sure?"

(Y/N): "Mako is waiting for them. He will lock them in one room until Blake decides to give herself a break"

*timeskip*

After helping girls with the ballroom, me and Ryze were walking to our room, slowly getting ready for the dance

(Y/N): "I told you, it's a bad idea"

Ryze: "What? It's not like Glynda or Oobleck will stand guard and search us"

(Y/N): "Man, don't try it. If they find out you have booze on you, you'll be expelled"

Ryze: "Okay, okay" we walk past Team JNPR dorm as someone grabbed our arms "Huh?" We looked behind to see it was Jaune

Jaune: "Can we guys talk for a sec?" he dragged us into their room. 

He make us sit next to Ren. He still have a towel so I assume Jaune dragged him out of the shower. Ren waved at us and so does Nora

Jaune: "Ren, Ryze, (Y/N)... I'm just gonna say it. You are all my best friends. These past few months, I feel like we've really bonded, even though you don't say much, Ren. I mean, you're really quiet. To be perfectly honest, I don't know that much about you, personally. Ryze, you are sometimes too hotheaded and you (Y/N), you're sometimes hard on others and I think you enjoy hitting me when we train, but darnit, I consider you three to be the brothers I never had!"

Me and Ryze just blinked a few times. Ren just sat there, being uncomfortable. I would be too if I had to sit in only towel

(Y/N): "Did you hit him too hard?" I whispered

Ryze: "More like you hit him too many times" he whispered back

Despite being weirded out by Jaune's sudden declaration, and Ren still being in only towel, when Jaune finished we all nodded and smiled at him

(Y/N), Ryze and Ren: "And I you" Ren was trying to pay attention but his outfit hanging by the door was more interesting to him

Jaune: "Which is why I wanted to get your advice on... girls"

(Y/N), Ryze and Ren: "Girls?" When Janue looked away, Ren started reaching for his clothes

Jaune: "I just... don't know... how to... girls. Um, I-I guess what I'm asking is... Well, how did you and Nora... y'know..." Ren almost reached for his clothes, but Jaune turned back to us, making him stop

'Poor guy...'

Ren: "Uh.. uh... uh..." Nora cleaned her throat and started laughing nervously

Nora: "We're actually not 'together, toghether'..."

Jaune: "NORA I SAID HEADPHONES ON!" she yelped and quickly put her headphones back on. Jaune sigh before turning to me

Jaune: "And you (Y/N)? How did you and Ruby got together?"

(Y/N): "Well... We both are weapon dorks, we both share some other interests. We just complete each other. Also, well, remember when we were giving you that pep talk before the trip to Forever Fall?" he nodded "After you walked away, me and Ruby nearly kissed, and because of Ryze here, we didn't"

Ryze: "Hey! I said I was sorry!"

(Y/N): "Later I found out she likes me back, and she was giving me some clear signals about it. When we were fighting Torchwick in the docks I confessed to her, did something stupid trying to kill Torchwick for trying to hurt Ruby, she slapped me and later kissed me. After that she confessed she love me too and boom, we started dating" Jaune nodded

Jaune: "How about you Ryze? How did you and Yang got together?"

Ryze: "We flirted with each other during first days in Beacon. We went on a date, later at second and that how it rolled out. We confessed to each other on one date and now here we are" Jaune nodded again

Ren: "Jaune, what is this all about?" Jaune sighed

Jaune: "It's Weiss. I'm completely head-over-heels for her, and she won't even give me a chance. She's cold, but she's also incredible. She's smart, and graceful and talented. I mean, have you heard her sing?"

(Y/N): "Yeah, I do. She have a beautiful singing voice"

Jaune: "Exactly. I-I just wish she'd take me seriously, y'know? I wish I could tell her how I feel without messing it all up" Pyrrha get in a doorway

Pyrrha: "Then do it" Everyone looked at her

Jaune: "Uh, wha?"

Pyrrha: "Tell her exactly what you said. No ridiculous schemes, no pick-up lines. just... be honest"

'I can tell you the same, Pyrrha'

Jaune: "But what if I..." Pyrrha cut him off

Pyrrha: "Jaune. You can't get it wrong if it's the truth"

Ryze: "Just tell her how you feel and everything will be alright" I stayed silent, not wanting to give him false hope

'You have no chance with Weiss, Jaune. And the girl who loves you stands just before your eyes! How dense can one person be?!'

Jaune: "You're right. Thanks, Pyrrha! Good talk Guys!" Me, Ryze and Ren smiled and waved at him. After Jaune closed the doors I sighed

(Y/N): "He will try and Weiss will turn him down again... Jaune is everything she hates in boys. Besides, she is hoping Neptune will go with her" I stood up "Excuse us, Team JNPR. We need to get our suits ready for tomorrow" Me and Ryze walked out, but before I closed the doors I poked my head inside "And Pyrrha" she turned to me "You can take your words and apply them to you. See you at the dance"

Me and Ryze get to our room. He was searching for something under his bed while I continued to read my comic, lying on my bed. Then I hear a cling of glass

(Y/N): "Ryze, hide that stuff for fuck... What if Glynda comes to check on us?!"

Ryze: "Stop panicking (L/N). I'm just checking if my mobile fridge is working. And given our after party is as cold as Weiss is towards Jaune I must say it's working pretty good"

(Y/N): "Keep it under your bed. And we will not drink too much, we have our first mission on Monday. You don't want to fly with hangover, do you?"

Ryze: "I already flew after some booze"

(Y/N): "And?"

Ryze: "I only threw up three times" he state proudly

(Y/N): "What am I going to do with you?" I get back to my comic. About two hours later Mako get back to our room "I assume the mission was a success"

Mako: "Yup. Blake will come to the dance"

(Y/N): "Great. Now, where is Sam?" we heard a squeal outside and opened our window to see Sam running away from some girls. All asking him if he wants to go with them to the dance "Hahaha!"

Ryze: "Hahaha! Run bro! Haha!"

Sam: "RYZE! GET HERE AND HELP ME!" Ryze flew out of the window and grabbed Sam, a while later they get back

(Y/N): "What was that about?!"

Sam: "Em... you see..."

Ryze: "Our mom is a fashionista. She designs clothes and her company is one of the biggest clothes producer in Vale"

Sam: "Yeah, that. These girls found out I'm a Kiryuin, the son of Raya Kiryuin"

Mako: "But why Ryze is not having a storm of girls behind him?"

Ryze: "First off, I have a girlfriend and second off, my last name is Matoi, not Kiryuin. No one knows about my connection to Kiryuin family beside our parents and us"

Mako: "Ohhh. Lucky you Sam. Those girls were nearly killing each other for you"

Sam: "Yeah, really lucky. Especially when they want to rip your arm off and cut your clothes or hair" Then I got a message on my scroll. It was from Yang, and it says:

'If Mako didn't tell you, we convinced Blake to come to the dance tomorrow'

I smiled and then I get a second one:
