*(Y/N) POV*

Well, the day of dance has come. We still had about one and a half hour before the begging of the party. Me, my team, Sun and Jaune are currently getting ready in our room. Nora just shoved Jaune and Ren out of their room and Sun, well, he needed an advice and help with his clothes

Sun: "Curse this stupid death trap! It's trying to strangle me!" Sam walked to him and loosen his tie a little

Sam: "You're tightening it too much, man"

Sun: "I still don't really get why people have wear these things?"

(Y/N): "To look presentable. Sun, you and Ryze are from Vacuo but he had no problems with putting his clothes" I pointed to Ryze who is standing in his tuxedo trousers, white shirt and is currently tying his yellow tie

Ryze: "You heard what Yang told me"

(Y/N): "Yeah. And I think she would not break up with you rather she'll break something with you" I in the meanwhile was buttoning my shirt's sleeves "Just how small they make those holes. I was always struggling with them"

Mako: "By the way Jaune, you missed a button"

Jaune: "Oh" he looked down to see Mako was right "Oh, thanks"

Ryze: "How did things with Weiss went?"

Jaune: "I tried but... you can guess it didn't went really well"

'Time to help an old friend'

(Y/N): "What about Pyrrha? Did you tried asking her?" I get my red tie on my neck

Jaune: "Wh-What? Pssh. No way! Pyrrha would never go with someone like me"

'OH MY FUCKING OUM!'

(Y/N): "And Weiss would? Man, Pyrrha... Pyrrha *sigh* Listen man, I assume you didn't noticed"

Jaune: "Noticed what?"

Ryze: "How Pyrrha always tries to get your attention? How she is giving you clear signs? How her eyes get when she looks at you? You don't think it's weird?"

Jaune: "Not at all" me and Ryze facepalmed

(Y/N): "Jaune, she have a crush on you!"

Jaune: "That's just ridiculous. Nope, Nein, Nyet. There is no way she thinks of me like that. We're just friend, that's all"

'There is no hope for him...'

(Y/N): "Do what you think will be better. I tried..."

We continue some pep talk, time flew. Ryze, Sun and Mako went out thirty minutes before the dance, like Yang asked Ryze. Jaune also walked out leaving me and Sam alone

Sam: "Just how dense one person can be? Even Mako saw how Pyrrha was looking at him. Mako!"

(Y/N): "I know *sigh* I'm just sorry for Pyrrha. She loves him but she still wants him to be happy"

Sam: "I see. I still don't know why you wanted me to order that white dress"

(Y/N): "Did someone asked Pyrrha out?"

Sam: "Nope"

(Y/N): "Well, you will see later" I got a message from Ruby, she is getting some finishing touches and should be ready in five minutes "My Rose is waiting for me. Hide that dress somewhere in the ballroom and wait for my sign" I get out of our dorm and walked to Team RWBY's room. When I get there I knocked on the doors

Ruby: "I'm nearly done (Y/N)! Wait outside!"

(Y/N): "Sure thing Ruby"

Five minutes passed and Ruby walked out. And let me tell you, if I though she can't be more beautiful I would be wrong. She was in red corset dress with black belt and black pumps

I couldn't help but stare with my mouth wide open. She giggled at me

Ruby: "So, how do I look?" she twirled and I picked up my jaw from the ground

(Y/N): "Petals, you look absolutely beautiful!" she blushed and giggled

Ruby: "Thanks... you look great too" She tried to walk to me but her high heels were not helping "Stupid lady stills..." She nearly fall but I caught her and helped her up "Thanks Cookie"

(Y/N): "No problem Ruby. I see you are struggling with those" I pointed to her heels "So, why?"

Ruby: "Weiss told me to wear these. So I did..."

(Y/N): "Of course..." I offered her my arm "So, ready to head out my Rose?"

Ruby: "Yes..." she took my arm and we went on our way to the ballroom. With me as  support Ruby was somehow managing to walk in her heals. We entered the room and we saw Yang and Ryze standing behind the podium letting people in

Yang: "Oh, you two look so adorable together!" Ruby tried to walk to her, but her high heels are again getting in the way

(Y/N): "Thanks Yang. You and Ryze are good too"

Ruby: "Can we have a serious talk about how Weiss fights in these?" She stumbled forward and thankfully I catch her again. Yang and Ryze laughs

(Y/N): "I see you two are enjoying yourselves"

Ryze: "Of course" Weiss joined us after a while of our talk. Then we noticed that Blake had shown up to the dance as she walks with Sun

Yang: "I told you she would come"

(Y/N): "You did magic Yang. I hope she won't start behaving like before after tonight"

Weiss: "Mission accomplished" she walked off

Ruby: "So, what do we do now?"

Yang: "Just have fun!" She dragged Ryze with her and they started dancing

Ruby: "Does that mean I can change out of these things and into my hood now?"

(Y/N): "Why Petals? You look amazing right now" she blushed

Ruby: "I guess I can bare with it for tonight" she smiled at me and I returned the gesture. Ozpin get near us

Ozpin: "Not enjoying yourself Ms. Rose?" Ruby get surprised by his sudden appearance

Ruby: "Oh, no, everything's fine! I'm just not much of a fancy pantsy... dancey girl"

(Y/N): "Rubes, you can't spend your entire life fighting monsters and criminals. There will come time in your life when you will need to settle down" Ozpin nodded

Ozpin: "Mr. (L/N) is right Ms. Rose. You can't spend your whole life on the battlefield, even if you may want to"

Ruby: "Yeah, that lesson's been floating around a lot lately" Ozpin looked at dancing people

Ozpin: "If you think about it, fighting and dancing aren't so different. Two partners interlocked, although one wrong move on the ballroom merely leads to a swollen foot"

Ruby: "Or a twisted ankle"

Ozpin: "It's not every day that friends are able to come together like this. Time has a way of testing our bonds, but it's nights like these that can help keep them stronger than ever. Night like these are ones we'll never forget" me and Ruby smiled at his words, and then we saw Mercury and Emerald entering the room

(Y/N): Thanks Professor Ozpin"

Ozpin: "Don't thank me, (Y/N). Just enjoy your night together" Ozpin walked off into the crowd. We heard a slow romantic music started to play so I turned to Ruby

(Y/N): "May I have this dance, my Rose?" She get a sheepish look on her face

Ruby: "Cookie, you see... I-I don't know how..." I smiled at her

(Y/N): "You are good. I'll tell you how to"

Ruby: "Okay then..." I led her to the dance floor and I placed her hand on my shoulder while I was holding her other hand. After positioning Ruby I got my free hand on her side. We started moving together to the rhythm of the song

(Y/N): "See, you are getting the hang of this"

Ruby: "It's my first time dancing"

(Y/N): "Petals, just go with it. We can slow down if you need to" We looked into each other eyes

Ruby: "Remember when we first met?"

(Y/N): "You mean, when I was about to enter that dust shop, and you threw that Torchwick's goon out of the window. Yeah. Remember when we got our first moment ruined by Ryze?"

Ruby: "Oh my... Don't remind me. We could get together before and without you risking your life to hurt Torchwick"

(Y/N): "Yeah, I was stupid. Remember when you met my mom?"

Ruby: "Yhm. She is a nice woman. And she knew my mom. But she also ruined one of our moments to be fair. Um, (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Yes, Ruby?"

Ruby: "Where did you learn how to dance?"

(Y/N): "Beside my training, my grandma also taught me how to dance. She said that one day I will meet a beautiful girl and I need to learn it. Guess she was right" she blushed and we stayed silent for about a minute

Ruby: "I have another question, why do you love me?" I sighed

'Women...'

(Y/N): "Ruby, you are beautiful, cute girl. You are a weapon passionate, you have great personality. Before I met you the only things on my mind were to train, fight and try to become a Huntsman like my father. But, after we met I saw something in you, something saying 'I have to protect her'. And so I did. After we tried to kiss for the first time I understood I didn't have some stupid crush on you like I had with girls before, it was a true love" she blushed

Ruby: "So, who was your first crush?"

(Y/N): "Weiss..." Ruby gasped "Yeah I know, it's surprising, but we were eight at the time. Her father even planned to arrange marriage for us, but my mom stopped him. If I remember correctly she said 'Fuck you Jackass, my son will marry a girl he truly loves, and your daughter should too! We can't decide for them!' to this day he is angry at my mom for this" we laughed "So, why do you love me Ruby?"

Ruby: "When I met you, and after hearing why you want to become a Huntsman I understood you are just like me. I was amazed by how you weld Mortem and well..." her blush deepened "I got a crush on you the very day we met. When I arrived back home I couldn't stop talking about how awesome you were. Yang started teasing me and only deepened my crush on you. Later, you saved me back at the initiation and our teams become friends. You taught me how to be a leader, stood up for me against Weiss and well... I later understood I love you too"

(Y/N): "When?"

Ruby: "After our first try of kissing..." I chuckled "Before we went to the docks Yang told me I should confess to you, but Blake's and Weiss's fight destroyed it... When..." she started to have some tears in her eyes "when Torchwick shoot you, I thought you were gone... And later you made my worries even bigger when you went after him. I was so worried he will shot you and you will fall into the ocean I nearly started bawling my eyes out" she get the tears away and get her hand back on my shoulder "My mom told me once 'Ruby, one day you will find someone special, someone who will give his life to save you. He will come out of nowhere, but when he will, you will know he is the one'. Never in my life I though it will come true" she smiled at me. 

We then started closing the distance between our faces. We closed our eyes and our lips connected. We stayed like this for a minute still dancing. Eventually, we needed to catch our breath and we broke it

Ruby: "I love you (Y/N)"

(Y/N): "I love you too" Ruby get her head on my chest and closed her eyes as we continued to dance. I looked up to see Yang taking pictures of us and Ryze formed a heart with his hand. I shake my head and smiled. Me and Ruby continued to dance until the song ended and later we went back to the punch bowl where Jaune was hiding 

Jaune: "Hey you two"

Ruby: "Hey Jaune"

(Y/N): "You're being socially awkward at the punch bowl?" he nodded

Jaune: "What about you two?"

(Y/N): "Well, after we danced there is really nothing else to do. So we are in the same cart now"

Jaune: "To the socially awkward" Us three clinked glasses

(Y/N): "To the socially awkward... "

Ruby: "Sorry things didn't work out with Weiss"

Jaune: "Meh, it's fine. Neptune's pretty cool. I get why she went with him"

Ruby: "What do you mean?"

Jaune: "Well, come on, not many people can pull of blue hair"

(Y/N): "Weiss came alone. Guess Neptune didn't asked her"

Jaune: "What?" he choked on his punch I looked at Weiss, adjusting a white rose

Ruby: "Yeah, she said she had too much to focus on to worry about boys" Jaune looked at Neptune and growled

Jaune: "Hold my punch" He handed Ruby his glass and she drinks a little from it as we watch Jaune storm across the ballroom. We later saw Pyrrha walking up the stairs

(Y/N): "Come on Jaune, don't leave her"

Ruby: "Who, Pyrrha?"

(Y/N): "She came alone. Oh, wait" I messaged Sam to get the dress ready for Jaune

Ruby: "That's too bad. I was hoping when Weiss will turn him down they'd go together"

(Y/N): "You know about Pyrrha's crush?"

Ruby: "Everyone knows. I mean I saw how she was looking at Jaune"

(Y/N): "Everyone except for Jaune. I even told him to the face she loves him and he was still in denial. Dense idiot..." we then hear a whistle and hear Yang shouting from balcony

Yang: "Hey, lovebirds! Come up here!" We walked up to her and Ryze

Ruby: "Hey Yang. Hey Ryze"

Ryze: "Hey Ruby. You two enjoying yourselves?"

(Y/N): "Of course" We lean on the railing and look down on the ballroom

Yang: "You know. I think we really needed this" I looked around to see Nora dancing with Ren and Blake dancing with Sun. I even saw Penny doing the robot

Ruby: "Yeah. And you did a great job planning it too." Yang hugged Ruby as she tries to free herself from Yang's embrace

Yang: "Aww, thanks! It wasn't all me, though. Weiss and the boys did a lot too" she was still hugging Ruby as I saw Neptune sitting down next to Weiss as they start chatting

Ruby: "Cookie, help!" she was reaching for me

(Y/N): "Em, Yang. I think you are choking my Rose"

Yang: "Ohhh, does (Y/N) wants his little Ruby back?"

(Y/N): "Yes please" she released Ruby and she hugged herself to me

Ruby: "Cookie! Yang's bullying me again!" she whined and I chuckled before kissing her forehead

(Y/N): "It's okay Petals"

Yang: "You two are soo cute together. Wait till dad see the pictures I sent him" I instantly went pale

(Y/N): "I'm dead... "

Ruby: "Don't worry (Y/N). Our parents know each other. It will be fine"

Yang: "Wait, when?"

(Y/N): "Well, my parents attended Beacon, they were in one team and were friends with your dad, Ruby's mom and I hope your uncle. So, I'm good. Ryze however..." Ryze gulped "Good luck with 'uncle Qrow'" I laughed and after that we stood there in silence, observing the dance floor

Yang: "Tomorrow is back to work"

Ruby: "Well, I'm sure we can handle whatever is thrown at us" 

We then hear a laughter and saw Jaune in a dress. I looked to the corner to see Mako bend in laughter and Sam giving me a thumbs up, signalling job is done. I meanwhile took my scroll out and took a picture of Jaune

Ruby: "Except for that"

(Y/N): "Hahaha, Ryze he did it haha!"

Ryze: "Oh my Oum! *wheeze* I can't breathe!" I calmed him down and we looked at Team JNPR group dance. 

(Y/N): "Pyrrha!" she looked up at me "Your wife has arrived!" she giggled and get back to dancing

Ryze: "Show them your leg Arc! Hahaha!" I noticed Ruby is not near us. I looked around to see her walking out of the ballroom

(Y/N): "Ryze, record this for me, okay?"

Ryze: "Sure thing bud" I get down and followed Ruby

(Y/n): "Petals, where are you goin..." I saw what she was looking at. There was a woman jumping across the roofs. We looked at each other and nodded before running after her. We followed her all the way to the CCT tower where we saw a lot of knocked down guards. We both called our weapons

(Y/N): "Be careful Rubes" she nodded and we entered the tower to see even more guards out cold. 

We boarded elevator and get to the communications room. We both have our scythes in our hands. Ruby walks forward tripping a little because of her high heels

Ruby: "Hello? Is anyone there? Hello?" That woman from the roofs walks out from behind the table

Ruby: "Excuse me? You know, it's not a masquerade party, so why don't you take off that...!" 

Ruby was cut off as the women takes out a cartridge of fire dust and it's change into glass. She shots them at us  and we block them. Ruby starts shooting Crescent Rose at her, but she blocks every shot. The woman later summons two blades and I rushed at her with Mortem. Me and Ruby started attacking her alternately but she just blocks our attacks with her blades. Upon blocking Ruby's last swing she jumped into the air and summoned a bow to fire at Ruby, but before she could I throw a small fireball at her torso to get her out of rhythm. She looked furious at me and just as she wanted to attack me the elevator door opened. She threw some fire at Ruby as I got before her and disperse the attack around us.

'Her fire fell different... It's like some magical power...' I turned the fire down and  I saw the woman is gone

(Y/N): "You alright Petals?"

Ruby: "Yeah, thanks Cookie"

???: "(Y/N), what happened here?" We looked behind to see James

(Y/N): "Sit down James, we will tell you everything" We explained what happened there and well, General was not happy. Me and Ruby were also in bad moods because we failed to capture the intruder. After speaking with someone through his scroll, James told us to visit Ozpin's office tomorrow morning. Me and Ruby get back to the dorms and get to our rooms. When I entered mine... well

(Y/N): "What the heck happened here...?" 

I picked up one empty vodka bottle and looked around the room. Ryze didn't even cared to change. He was sleeping in his tuxedo. Mako was wearing that dress Jaune had before and Sam had a dick drawn on his forehead... "And they didn't even left me anything, greedy pigs" I started to clean up. I hide the vodka bottles under Ryze's bed and opened the window to get rid of alcohol smell. After that I changed into my pajamas and went to sleep. Well, at least I tried. It was now 2 AM and I'm still sleepless

(Y/N): "Maybe Ozpin will know about that girl's powers..." I closed my eyes only to be waken up by knocking. I opened the door and saw Ruby in her pajamas "Petals, it's two in the morning. Shouldn't you be sleeping?"

Ruby: "I couldn't... (Y/N)... can I sleep with you tonight...?" She said with a massive blush. I couldn't help but blush too

(Y/N): "Ruby, from where did it come from?"

Ruby: "When I was little and I couldn't sleep I always asked Yang to sleep with me, so.... I thought since we are dating... we can now too"

'Will a punch to the face from Yang will be worth it...? Ehh I think so'

(Y/N): "Okay" 

Ruby: "Yay!" she squealed kinda too loud 

(Y/N): "Shh, people are sleeping, Ruby" she entered the room and I closed the door behind her

Ruby: "Ughh, what is this smell?"

(Y/N): "Don't worry about it"

'Shit, she smelled the vodka'

(Y/N): "And don't even ask why they are like this" I pointed to the rest of my team. Later we lied on my bed and we get under the blanket. Ruby instantly get closer to me

Ruby: "(Y/N)... Can we... Can we cuddle?"

(Y/N): "If you want to Petals. I don't mind" We wrapped our arms around each other and snuggled as close as we could

Ruby: "Mmm... warm..." I smiled

(Y/N): "Well, my semblance is a fire control after all. Goodnight Petals"

Ruby: "Goodnight Cookie" I closed my eyes and started falling asleep, with Ruby in my arms

'I can get used to this' I smiled again and finally I went to the land of nod

A/N: And this ends the combo week. Haha I did it! Expect new chapters on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from now
