A/N: I won't be writing Salem and Ozma's story. Nothing changed in it so it would be a waste of my and your time. Anyway...

*(Y/N) POV*

After Jinn tells us that Salem can't be killed, we all stand there, sinking this information.

'Salem... can't be killed... Does... does that mean that my dad died for nothing...? That Summer, Penny, Pyrrha, every Huntsman in this fucked up world died for nothing?!'

Yang: "Salem can't be killed. You all heard her too right?" We stand over Ozpin, with angry looks on our faces"

Ozpin: "I-"

Ryze: "You kept SO much from us, when we were supposed to be fighting together. What could possibly make you think that was alright?!" Ozpin hangs his head down in shame

Ruby: "Professor..." Ozpin looks at her "What is your plan to defeat Salem?" Ozpin looks away in shame

Ozpin: "I... don't have one" Then Ryze had enough and lunches a left hook at Ozpin, as he lands in the snow

Ryze: "We trusted you! Some even sacrificed themselves for you. For what?! Salem can't be killed! You sent numerous innocent people to their deaths!" He tries to go at him but I and Mako hold him back "Let me go you motherfuckers! I will kill this little bitch! Not only he lied about Salem, he lied about us! I swear, he put us in one team only to later send us after Salem too!"

Mako: "Calm down!"

(Y/N): "Oscar is still there. If you kill him, Ozpin would just reincarnate and you would kill an innocent kid!"

Then Qrow steps forward and punches Ozpin as he flies into the tree

Qrow: "No one wanted me... I was cursed... I gave my life to you because you gave me a place in this world... I thought I was finally doing some good..." he clenches his fists and looks down

Ozpin: "But, you are-"

Qrow: "Meeting you... was the worst luck of my life..." he shakes his head. Ozpin stares at him in disbelief before looking down

Ozpin: "Maybe you're right..." Oscar gets the control of his body back as he holds his jaw in pain from punches from both Ryze and Qrow

Ruby: "What happened?"

Oscar: "He's... gone"

Sam: "What?"

Yang: "That bastard! Tell him we're not done yet!"

Oscar: "No, this is different. He's gone. It-It's like he's locked himself deep inside my head. Our head? *grunt* I hate this! I want it to stop!" he hold his head

Ryze: "He ran away, huh? Fucking coward..."

Blake: "What are we gonna do now?" Yang growls in anger as I try to remain calm

Maria: "My... don't they teach those kids that negativity brings Grimm? Can you gather their attention, my grandson?"

(Y/N): "Sure thing grandma" I turn to everyone as they surround poor Oscar "EVERYBODY! CALM DOWN!" they look back at me, with fire in my eyes and around my hands as Grandma stands next to me "I know, it's the last we wanted to hear, but we need to move" I calm down

Maria: "Thank you" she turns to them and begins walking towards Oscar "It'll be dark before we know it, and almost every one of you is spewing negativity!" she helps Oscar up with her cane "There's a trail over there, trails usually lead somewhere"

Yang: "Lady, you may be (Y/N)'s grandma, but-" Grandma slams her cane

Maria: "No buts! I understand that you're upset. Honestly, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that this is humanity's second time around. But, if we don't move, we die. And I'll be damned if I've lived this long and taught my fool of a grandson, just to die out here in the cold!"

(Y/N): "So, better listen to grandma Maria and let's get out of here. Gather your things and everything we can use. We need to find shelter and we need to rest. We will figure out what to do next after that" I went to pick up Mortem back from the snow and put it on my hip. Everyone gets their thing and whatever Dust we can carry. Grandma sits on Bumblebee as Yang walks her bike with Mako's help. I walks over to Ruby and Oscar as she hands him his cane

Oscar: "I'm just going to be another one of his lives, aren't I?" Ruby puts a hand on his shoulder

Ruby: "Of course not. You're your own person"

Qrow: "Don't lie to him, Ruby. We're better than that..." he drunks his flask as he walks by us. Oscar then rips the cane from Ruby's hand and walks off. She looks down as I grab her hand and she looks at me with a somber look

Ruby: "What do we do, (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "I don't know Ruby... but no matter what, know that. I will always be by your side. And I will always support" I try to comfort her as she tries her best to smile a little

Ruby: "Thanks, (Y/N)"

*timeskip*

We went on our way, as I speak with grandma with Ruby on my left, hidden under my cloak to protect her from the wind and snow

Maria: "So, you got accepted into Beacon, and are the leader of a team. At least I know now SOME of the things I taught you didn't came to waste"

(Y/N): "Thanks for the compliment grandma..." I look behind to see Qrow and Ryze drinking from Qrow's flask "Idiots..."

Maria: "And this girl? You two look close to each other" she points her cane at Ruby, who is now hugging my arm as I act as her walking fireplace

(Y/N): "It's Ruby, my girlfriend. We met in Beacon" Ruby pop her head from under my cloak

Ruby: "Hello" she pops back inside and continues to hug my arm as I use my semblance to gather heat there "Soooo~ warmmm~"

Maria: "Wow. Another shocker today. I never thought you will get one to be honest"

(Y/N): "Count on family to bring up your spirit..." I hear Qrow sighs

Qrow: "Doesn't look like this is gonna let up"

Blake: Just wanna get this stupid Relic to Atlas"

Weiss: "Let's hope we don't have to walk all the way there" She holds her arms together and shivers from cold as Sam wraps his arm around her shoulder to keep her warm. Weiss smiles "Thank you, Sam"

Yang: "I thought trails led somewhere'

Maria: "Do you have nothing better to do than to harass a defenseless old lady?"

(Y/N): "Yeah. Not saying about those whacks of yours..." Grandma whack me on the head with her cane "Ow!"

Maria: "Seems like you forgot to respect your elders during your time in Beacon"

Yang: "Ryze, can't you fly up to search from there?"

Ryze: "Can't do Sunny Dragon. Storm is too strong and I would end up losing you guys" We then hear a gate squeaking

Ruby: "Everyone, quiet. Do you hear that?"

Everyone stops in their tracks hearing a metallic squeaking noise nearby. We head towards the source of the squeaking. Soon we arrive at a large farm, with one of the front gates swinging back and forth with the wind. A large sign above the entrance reads 'BRUNSWICK FARMS'. Everyone stop and take in the scene

Blake: "Well, at least one good thing happened today"

Mako: "Looks like no one's been here for a while. Place looks abandoned"

Ruby: "It's still better than this"

Qrow: "Come on, I think we could all use some rest" We pass through the farms' gates as the snow starts to pick up further. We make our way through the farm as I get to my team

(Y/N): "How are you holding up?" I ask concerned

Ryze: "I'm just... It all sucks (L/N). Salem is immortal and it all happened only because Ozpin fucked her after he saved her. He broke the rule number one, never put a dick in crazy"

Mako: "Not to forget he knew we are Guardians. And what? At the initiation he probably got us all together to act as his special forces, trying to defeat Salem, only to die like others did"

(Y/N): "I mean, there is always-"

Sam: "There is not, (Y/N). I know you and Ruby are trying to keep us going, but there is no reason to anymore. I just want to get this stupid Relic to Atlas and go live my life with Weiss"

(Y/N): "Man... listen, I know this is bad. You know this is bad. Everyone knows this is bad, but we can't stop. If Salem is immortal, than maybe there is another way to defeat her" Ryze chuckles

Ryze: "Keep saying yourself that, (Y/N). Maybe you will do something Raven said is impossible. Reason with her. That's if, she doesn't kill you first"

(Y/N): "Okay, guys, don't lose your cool now. We will get the Relic to Atlas and later we will see what we can do about Salem. Just, don't try to drink yourself into oblivion. Okay, Ryze?"

Ryze: "Fine... whatever..." We get to our partners as Mako was walking behind Blake

Ruby: "I don't get it. The empty towns we passed were all damaged or unfinished. But this place is fine" we get in a porch and look around the farm as storm is getting stronger with every minute

(Y/N): "Like someone or something is guarding it" Sam seeing Weiss cold wraps his arm around her shoulder and brings her closer to him. She leans smiling appreciating the gesture

Weiss: "Thank you, Sam. Do you think everyone left in a hurry? Before things took a turn for the worse?"

Sam: "It can be..." Qrow tries to open the door, but is was locked and he hums

Qrow: "Hmm. Stay on guard. There could be trouble"

Qrow kicks the door open, and we move inside with our weapons drawn. We cautiously look around the place, finding a set of stairs to the next floor, one path to a living room, and another path to a kitchen. Grandma then walks in behind us

Maria: "Close the door already! It's cold enough in here as it is" After she walks inside, Ryze closes the door and I and Oscar push a desk drawer in front of them "Well, it's still cold in here"

Blake: "I saw a chimney from the outside. Maybe we could get a fire going?" they look at me

(Y/N): "No. You will NOT use me as your living fireplace. We need to find some firewood"

Weiss: "Please. I'll look for some blankets"

Sam: "I'll go with you" Both of them walk away

(Y/N): "Alright. Scatter everyone. Look for whatever we can use to keep warm or keep busy"

Everyone went to do their things as me and Ruby stayed in the hall. She turns around and her eyes widen

(Y/N): "Petals, something's..."

I turn around to see a group of pictures on the wall of a family that appeared to own Brunswick Farms. We walk forward to take a better look. Blake and Mako get near us

Blake: "What do you think?"

Ruby: "I don't know. Something doesn't feel right"

Mako: "So I'm not the only one. I may not be a genie like Jinn but something happened here for sure"

Blake: "We can worry about that later. For now, let's look for some-" we then hear a high pitched scream coming from the second floor

Ruby: "Weiss!"

We run upstairs and eventually find Sam and Weiss in one of the opened rooms. Weiss sits on the floor, shaking in fear while Sam tries to comfort her with his arms wrapped around her. Qrow arrived shortly after us, along with Yang and Ryze. We look on the bed in the room to see a pair of decomposing corpses, still under covers

Ryze: "What the hell..."

We get back downstairs while Ryze and Qrow take care of the bodies. I found some old firewood, put it in a chimney and started the fire with my Semblance. I get back to leaning against the wall. Yang, Mako and Blake are sitting on the couch, Maria is sitting on a chair with Oscar standing nearby while Ruby stands next to Yang. Weiss instantly got in front of the fire, still shaking. Sam places a blanket around her to keep her warm and gently pulls her in a side hug to comfort her

Sam: "Are you okay, Snowflake?"

Weiss: "I'm... I'm fine. I'll try to be fine. You didn't freak out at that?" Sam turns to the fire "Sam?"

Sam: "I already saw some dead bodies... Not like those from upstairs. (Y/N) once told us to get used to it, because it's a normal sight in this job"

(Y/N): "It is. My dad always drank a shot or two after unsuccessful missions, when he couldn't save someone. He told me that it's not the scariest part. The scariest part is getting used to it"

Maria: "Your father and his 'words of wisdom'. Although he was right with this"

Sam: "I guess I got used to this. *sigh*" he turns to Weiss "Thankfully I have a girl I love next to me, so I know I have something else to think about. Her well-being" Weiss smiles a bit and kiss his cheek

Weiss: "Thank you" Then Qrow and Ryze return, closing the door and wiping the snow off their shoulders

(Y/N): "And?"

Qrow: "It's the same in every house"

Yang: "What?"

Ryze: "Bodies in every single house. Decomposed as the ones upstairs. It looks like everyone here hit the hay... and never woke up. Like they died in their sleep"

(Y/N): "...Like they lost all their strength to even wake up again"

Weiss: "We aren't... staying here, are we?" Qrow kneels in front of the fire on Weiss' left side while Ryze do the same on Sam's right side

Qrow: "We don't have a choice. Storm outside's only getting worse. We'd freeze to death before we made it anywhere. We'll just have to wing it here for a while until it calms down"

Yang: "Well, that's just great..."

Maria: "Well, might as well get comfortable" she walks over to take a look at the bookshelves

Blake: "I doubt it'll be that easy to get comfortable here"

Ruby: "Okay, then let's do something to keep our minds off of... you know what. If this place isn't abandoned, it might still have supplies we can use" Qrow stands up

Qrow: "I'll go take another sweep of the area. Maybe I'll find something that we can use. But, no one goes anywhere ALONE. Stay in pairs or groups, got it" we nod

Ryze: "I'll go take a look in the other buildings for vehicles. Me and Qrow didn't searched the barn and the shed"

Yang: "I'll go with you, honey. I need to get out of this house, at least for a few minutes" they head out

Mako: "Sam and I will check the surroundings. Make sure there aren't any Grimm nearby"

Sam: "It won't take long, Snowflake. Try not to miss me" he winks at Weiss, as she lightly blushes

(Y/N): "I will stay here and search the house" with that they left the house, and me and Ruby moved the drawer back to its place.

Blake heads into another part of the house while we hear heels hitting the floor. We look to its source to see Weiss standing at the entrance to the living room, with blanket still wrapped around her body

Ruby: "Well, food always makes me feel better when I'm down... Just saying" she chuckles. Weiss sighs

Weiss: "Fine. Let's go"

(Y/N): "I will be there soon, go ahead girls" I headed back to the living room "Oscar. Keep the fire burning. If it extinguishes, use some fire dust crystals or something. Grandma Maria, please, don't whack the kid. He already got his beatings today" I look to Oscar "Sorry for that Oscar. Ryze just had enough of Ozpin's shit"

Oscar: "No... it's not a problem. Thanks for keeping him from beating me more" I smile

(Y/N): "Glad to be at help. I will go with Ruby and Weiss to look for food"

I walk to where girls went and after walking down the set of stairs enter the basement just when Weiss lighten the candles

Weiss: "There"

(Y/N): "You found some..." I trail off upon seeing a full stocked bar with a lot of alcohol bottles

Ruby: "On second thought, maybe we should keep my uncle away from here for a while"

(Y/N): "And from Ryze. I once had to carry his drunk ass back to our dorm. And I'm never doing this again"

Weiss: "Is it that bad?"

(Y/N): "It's that bad Weiss Cream. It's that bad for both Ryze and Qrow"

Ruby: "I'm just... not sure how well my uncle is taking all of this right now"

(Y/N): "Same as that idiot Matoi. He got surprised to learn he is a Winter's Guardian"

Weiss: "How is the possibility that you all ended up in one team?" I scoff

(Y/N): "None. Ozpin knew from the beginning, he wanted us four to become pawns in his game. I wonder when he wanted to tell them that. And what else does he hides"

Ruby: "It doesn't matter anymore. You heard Oscar, Ozpin is gone. Come on, we won't get to Atlas on an empty stomach" We look around as Ruby went to open another door

Weiss: "Ruby? (Y/N)? Are we still going to Atlas?"

(Y/N): "Weiss, if that's about your father etc. Then I told you, he won't touch you. I won't allow this and Sam for sure won't allow this too"

Weiss: "No, it's just... well... you guys heard what Jinn said, right. If Salem can't be killed, then what's the point in all of this?"

(Y/N): "What's the point? What's the point?! I can think for at least one right now. If we don't stop Salem, then Pyrrha and Penny would've died for nothing!"

Weiss: "(Y/N), I-" I get near her

(Y/N): "Weiss, if you wanna quit, then be my guest. I ask you, why the hell did you even go with Sam to Mistral? If you would just give up when things get hard, then it would be better if you stayed with Jacques in Atlas. But if I remember correctly, that's not the Weiss Schnee I knew. Weiss Schnee I know is a stubborn little Ice Queen. She would never give up. So, what did you do to that Weiss? Where is she, huh?"

Ruby: "Cookie, that's enough"

(Y/N): "No, Ruby. It's not enough. What're you gonna do Weiss? Will you stay, or will you abandon your teammates again like you did to Ruby after the Fall?!" I snap as girls gasps

Ruby: "(Y/N)! Why did you say that?!"

(Y/N): "Because it's true... I don't care anymore, okay?! I had enough of Yang's shitty behavior this morning and now I hear Weiss saying she would rather sit with her abusive father, alcoholic mother and little brother who is as much of a jerk as he is an asshole! Great!"

Weiss: "I-I'm sorry..."

(Y/N): "Apologize to your leader, not me. I will be back upstairs" I grab one bottle with alcohol "Hope Ryze is back" Ruby notices this

Ruby: "Where are you going with this bottle, huh?"

(Y/N): "I'm going to drink something with Ryze. We will be in the kitchen if you need your living fireplace" Ruby grabs my forearm

Ruby: "No! You're not going to get drunk! We need everyone at their best"

(Y/N): "Petals... let me go. I really need to distract myself from all this mess with Ozpin, my teammates and your teammates" I shake my arm to get Ruby off me and I leave the room, putting the bottle inside my cloak.

*Ruby POV*

After (Y/N) left I stare at the entrance to the basement

Ruby: "That jerk! What is he even thinking?!"

Weiss: "Ruby..." I turn around "I-I didn't mean to sound like that. I didn't know what I was saying. I'm just... really tired, and I really hate this place"

Ruby: "Weiss, it's okay, I know you didn't mean that. Don't worry about what (Y/N) said. He is just stressed about our situation. I know he didn't mean those words and I know you didn't abandon me, or Yang, or Blake, back at Beacon" I put a hand ho hers to make her feel better as she sighs

Weiss: "I'm sorry" I smile

Ruby: "It's okay. Come on, let's keep looking for some food"

Weiss: "Are you not worried about (Y/N)?"

Ruby: "I am. But I give him a piece of my mind when he sobers up" we continues to search for anything to eat

'Cookie, please. Don't do this to yourself. Don't turn into my uncle'

*(Y/N) POV*

I'm on my way to the kitchen when I spotted Ryze sitting near the fireplace

(Y/N): "Matoi! A word, please" he gets up and walks next to me

Ryze: "What's the matter (Y/N)?" I showed him the bottle "Oh, so, where?"

(Y/N): "Kitchen. Don't tell Qrow, okay?"

*timeskip*

Me and Ryze sit in the kitchen, taking a swings from the bottle one at the time

(Y/N): "She just want to give up and return to Atlas"

Ryze: "So why does she even went to Mistral with Sam, huh?" he takes a swing

(Y/N): "I don't know. Ryze, how are you holding up? Thinking about something?"

Ryze: "About what? About learning that Salem can't be killed, about me being a Guardian too like you and Sam or about this creepy place which gives me goosebumps" I take a swing

(Y/N): "All above" he sighs before taking another swing

Ryze: "At first I wasn't too happy about that. But later, I refactor what Jinn said. Ozpin asked 'How do I destroy Salem?' not 'How do we destroy Salem?'. That means there is a way to do so. And even if there is not then we saw her fail" we both take a swing "As for being a Guardian, I don't know. I always thought that my Semblance is useless, that it won't help me in becoming a Huntsman. And now I learn I can control the wind. If we weren't in a place so dark right now, I would be happy as hell" he chuckles and I laugh a little. "And this place, it doesn't feel right. Like a fucking death is sitting underneath this house"

(Y/N): "I'm glad not only I think about this. Okay, hide this stuff from Qrow. Ruby will cut my head off if he finds this stuff" he hid it under the sink and we walked off the kitchen to the living room.

He went to sit near Yang, Sam and Weiss in front of the fireplace, Mako sits down on one of the bookshelf Blake sits on a couch with Grandma who's reading a book. Oscar is pacing back and forth while I stand in the doorway for a while. I then look up to see Ruby coming down the stairs

(Y/N): "Hey Petal-" she slaps me "Okay, I think I deserved that"

Ruby: "You know how worried I was. I thought that I will find you passed out, drunk, lying on the floor"

(Y/N): "Relax, I did it to make Ryze talk. Although your sister and Weiss got me angry, I understand. It's not easy, given our situation, but-"

Ruby: "Cookie, listen... we all are stressed... after everything that happened. First Beacon, then Haven and now this..."

(Y/N): "Where are you going with this, Ruby?" she doesn't answer, instead, she hugs me

Ruby: "I love you. Please, don't destroy yourself with this stuff" I return the hug

(Y/N): "Petals, I love you too. I just took two, three sips of wine to make Ryze talk." We break the hug "You know, people are more willing to talk if you waste them a little" Qrow grabs our attention from the corner of the room. He is sitting in a chair, with his legs up the dresser we used to block the door

Qrow: "Matchstick is right. Drunk people spill information easier" We get near him and notice a wine bottle sitting on the floor near him. Ruby instantly looks at me with an angry frown while I put my arms in the air defensively

(Y/N): "I didn't told him"

Qrow: "Gear eyes should lower his voice when he speaks with you"

Ruby: "*sigh* How is it looking outside?"

Qrow: "Storm's cleared up for now. We should be able to leave tomorrow morning. Took its sweet time"

Ruby: "That's... good, right?"

Qrow: "No... I got a bad feeling about this place. Especially with me around"

(Y/N): "Not only you Qrow. Aside from the last part I agree. Since we got here, not only me but also Ryze and Mako are having this feeling. Feeling of dread, despair. And what's weird, there is no Grimm in perimeter"

Ruby: "Are you guys okay?" Qrow scoffs

Qrow: "Sure. I'll be fine. I can't speak for matchstick here. Go tell the others to get some sleep. I'll wake everyone up before sunrise' He takes a swing of wine. Ruby walks back while I stare at him "What? You want some too, kid?" he offers me a bottle but I only stare him down

(Y/N): "No. And what happened to 'I don't drink near Ruby'? Get your shit together Qrow... Not only do you feel like drinking until you pass out. We need you too, sober" I leave him be and enter the living room

Oscar: "What is that? A dairy?"

Maria: "Yes, of the head of this household, apparently. Bartleby. He and some other folks came here and made this settlement in order to start fresh and make something up themselves. From what I read, they haven't been here to long, and it seemed to work, for a time at least" Grandma flips over another page

(Y/N): "Grimm..."

Maria: "Oh, and I thought you slept over when I taught you that. Yes, Grimm, and other problems that come with living out here on your own. Slowed down their farming, made things harder... It's a shame really. He sounded like quite the ambitious fellow, always thinking of new schemes to overcome the odds"

(Y/N): "When you live out in places like this... or like we used to travel on foot a lot grandma, you learn quickly to come up with creative methods to survive... Like you using me as a cooking stove because we forgot matchsticks. Caring grandma for sure"

Maria: "If I was caring, you would never get to the level you're right now, my boy"

(Y/N): "Hey, I never said it wasn't fun. Maybe because it wasn't..." Grandma slaps my head with book before continue to read

Maria: "I swear, you're just like Albert. To this day I don't know what my daughter saw in him" she then softens a little "I remember her introducing him to me. And oh boy, she was deep in love... Like you and Ruby" I blush at the end

(Y/N): "Em... Private stuff?" Grandma chuckles

Maria: "She is a good girl, (Y/N)" then Ruby joins us

Ruby: "Hey guys. Uncle Qrow said we should go to bed. We're gonna be heading out early tomorrow"

Blake: "Thank goodness"

Mako: "Fine by me"

Our group moved around a bit, grabbing some blankets and pillows and finding places in the living room to sleep. No one wanted to sleep on the second floor with the dead bodies still up there. Weiss and Sam curl up together, much to the blushing of our Ice Queen, as does Yang and Ryze. Grandma jumps off the couch and Blake lies down on it. Oscar curls up on a loveseat

Maria: "Hmph. The last thing is letting some kid tell me what to do. 'Go to bed'. Please!"

(Y/N): "You can be nicer to your future 'granddaughter in law', grandma Maria" Ruby blushes while grandma chuckles

Maria: "Haha. May I live to see that day" she sits on an armchair to continue reading

I get near the wall and sit down. Ruby sits next to me as I wrap an arm around her and put the blanket over us. She snuggles her head to my chest

(Y/N): "Goodnight Petals"

Ruby: "Nighty Cookie" I kiss her forehead, earning a smile as us both close our eyes and go to sleep

A/N And cut. I decided 'Max 2 episodes per chapter and here we end. Tomorrow, or maybe on Thursday (or even Friday. I have a busy week now) We will see the secret of the Calavera's Family and why (Y/N) uses a scythe and not a sword like his father. Feel free to vote and comment.
