Confrontation Preparation
"So...what do you expect to accomplish with this unearthed information?" Tam asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you sure your Matchmaking Scroll isn't some kind of nerd dictionary?" Keefe queried.
"We could talk to Valin or his sister," Sophie offered, ignoring Keefe.
"I feel like confronting Valin isn't the best idea," Dex responded.
"So confronting his older, more respected sister is the option?" Linh asked quietly.
"What if we don't confront her, but...lure her into talking about her brother?" Fitz suggested.
"That...could work. But who'll beguile her? Not that they have to be a beguiler..." Sophie muttered.
"Okay, did you guys all just eat thesauruses for breakfast?!" Keefe exclaimed.
Everyone turned towards him and Fitz, who were standing side-by-side.
"You two," they all said.
"Us?!"
"Let's be honest, you two are basically beguilers to girls. And when you're together, you're basically a Mesmer," Biana noted dismissively. "You can get any girl to do anything."
They both looked at Sophie and everyone but those three rolled their eyes.
Sophie cleared her throat. "Okay. And they can have their imparters on so we hear what's going on. We'll have our imparter on mute."
"First...they need to look their best," Biana noted, crossing her left arm over her chest, resting her right elbow on her hand, and her head in her right hand. She tapped her cheek as she examined them. "I need to pick out their clothing."
"Why-"
"The better the look, the stronger the lure. It enhances their natural charm." She dropped her arms and grabbed each of their hands. "We'll be right back. Right after we go to Everglen and Candleshade," Biana said, cutting off Sophie's question.
"Candle-" Keefe started. He was cut off by being dragged into a beam of light Biana created.
Sophie, Dex, Linh, and Tam slowly walk back into the house and sit on the couches. It was a good half-an-hour of awkward silence when Tam finally opened his mouth. Instead of his voice filling the room, a knock did. Well, ten knocks filled the silence. Sophie shot up and threw open the door.
Biana squealed. "I have got to say: this is my best work!" The group trailed out of the house and each of their mouths dropped in turn. "I knooooooow!" Biana screeched, clapping her hands.
Keefe was in a fitted tunic that accented his muscles. His hair was a styled, perfect mess, and his eyes popped more than normal.
Fitz looked just as impressive with the same kind of look. Except for the fact that his hair looked neat and perfect. Both of them were wearing the same colors as their eyes.
The façade dropped as soon as they opened they're mouths.
"My hair is messed up."
"This tunic is too tight."
"My eyes look way better than this 'ice blue'."
"I'm itchy."
"I don't like it," they finished together
"Zip it you two!" Biana snapped. They clamped their mouths shut.
"But can they be charming?" Tam asked skeptically.
"Yes," Biana answered for them. "Trust me. We talked about this when I was doing their hair. Now we have to do this quickly or they'll be too uncomfortable when they're getting information out of her."
"Back to the Matchmaking office!" Dex shouted, pointing off into the distance.
Look at me! Being all nice and junk! I made this chapter, like, five hundred words. You're welcome (and sorry about the two hundred words in previous chapters). I hope you enjoyed it! Buh-Bye!
